Killers need to chase someone. If they've already found a survivor in a bad situation that they can chase, they should capitalize on that. It all depends on where the savior ends up.

This perk puts the savior in a place where they really SHOULDN'T make it through 60 seconds (because they're already injured), but if they do, they should be rewarded.

Why shouldn't they make it through 60 seconds, though? Are you suggesting a good Survivor is not capable of running a less powerful Killer around for that long?

  • For the ones he seemed to be unsure of, I'd make Moldy Electrode base kit on Doctor, and I'd make the Plague's Vile Purge (not Corrupt) regress generators at an accelerated rate (with Survivors being able to cleanse the gen at the expense of eating a lot of sickness). I also think for Demogorgon, a way to manually destroy Portals with its bare hands would be nice.

Games more balanced than it ever has been. Tbh. As a Solo Survivor last season I escaped less than I was sacrificed so..

Don’t see me making forum posts all upset about not having the outcome I would like.

You are not wrong that the game is more balanced than ever, but it still has a decent ways to go in my eyes.

  • @altruistic said:

    Sometimes you have bad games.

You are not meant to “win” every time.

This is true, but it is not an excuse for balance issues (not that I am saying that OP's scrnario is or is not a case of this; I am speaking generally).

No it wasn't buffed. It was tweaked because of new Legion.

This isn't a tweak. It's a direct buff, a very strong one. They just give Freddy Oblivious when you are asleep. He doesn't need a counter to BT he is a plenty strong killer. Again I play him regularly.

And it's not the same as other killers...

-Wraith has to decloak first. You can also force him out of cloak with a flashlight.

-Pig has to either stand up or ambush which is not a very effective attack on someone that was just saved.

-GF can be broken out of his stealth.

-Myers has to be in tier 1 for proper stealth options which means he is slow.

All of these killers have counter play options to trigger a BT proc, and if they can deny a BT proc there is at least some catch. Giving Freddy Oblivious in DW is neither of these. He can just hit you, put you to sleep and now BT just won't work. You can go wake up but the fact he puts you to sleep when he hits you makes this pointless. He doesn't have to decloak or do some sort of easy-to-dodge attack out of stealth, he can just do whatever he wants when he wants.

This is not a good change, at least not for Freddy. If anything, make Pill Bottle inflict Oblivious in DW instead of what it currently does, but as base kit no this shouldn't be a thing. Freddy doesn't need this kind of buff.

How is giving Borrowed Time changes that make it better not a buff, but giving a change to Freddy that effectively takes away those changes a huge buff? You can't have it both ways.

Also, Pig and GF's options are not that much different from "hit the Survivor" when it comes to flat-countering BT. If anything, they are arguably easier because they don't even need to hit the unhooker before they make the save. They just need to turn on their stealth mode at the right time.

Frankly, regardless of how many fans their are of fnaf, I feel like their is an equal number that really would not like to see it in dbd. For one, fnaf has accrued (perhaps unfairly) an association with kids, and is seen by many as "babbys first spooky game." second they might be a little too cartoonish for dbd, but then again we may get a pink mascot clown outfit down the line so maybe the tone is already on its way out the window. A problem that fnaf shares with many other horror ip's that people like is lack of power. Now I don't know enough about fnaf past 2, but I remember they where pretty much standard creep up on you and then pop out, and I cant think of a good power for them. I will say that having to choose which animatronic to implement would also probably lead to a situation where you cant even please all the fans of fnaf, let alone those that dont like it.

I actually have an idea that I'm fleshing out in my mind. Give me time, but the gist of the idea involves the core four roaming around, the Killer being able to switch between them, and the Survivors having to figure out which one is the "malfunctioning" animatronic using cameras.

  • Hmmmmmmmm, that is interesting. I worry 45 seconds is excessive for Exposed, but you do need to get to 12 tokens for it to function. Are Great Skill Checks the only thing that can remove tokens?

I know but the OP specifically said that this change would make sloppy a 20 seconds heal.

It doesn't, sloppy is already a 20 second heal. This would be a 20.8333333 second heal.

Ah, okay. I misunderstood the context of your post. My mistake.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Sloppy already increases heal time to 20 seconds.

That's because of Mangled, though, not Hemorrhage.

  • I'll use one if it shows up on the Daily Ritual.

  • Where is the positive feedback?

  • I like having Blindness remove the Red Stain. Idk if it is enough but it is at least a good start.

Hemorrhage is a weird one. What if Hemorrhage, in addition to the extra bleeding, slowed down gen repair speed and sabotage speed? Since super blood loss causes you to become woozy and whatnot. And to make it relevant on add-ons, it lasts until you are fully healed. You could remove Hemorrhage from Sloppy Butcher if need be to prevent it from becoming a perk eeeeeeevery Killer uses (it's not like Hemorrhage does anything for Sloppy currently, not to mention Sloppy as it currently is kinda invalidates almost every add-on that inflicts Mangled anyways, so doing something about that would be nice). Then Z block could also make it so it affects Healthy Survivors too for X amount of time or Injured Survivors until X amount of time after being healed to full.

It wasn't "buffed twice" it was tweaked. This however is a flat out buff, one Freddy doesn't need.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699360#Comment_699360

Doesn't matter my point is that they fixed these perks to work on Freddy, now they are broke again. Any future within-TR-range-effect-perks won't be of use on him.

Also Coulrophobia was very strong on both the old and new Freddy. Slowing down healing is a big deal. But now it's not even an option.

Borrowed Time is just fine right now, they don't need to add this new status effect, especially to Freddy. Lullaby should count as a TR. It's about balance not wanting a free anti-BT on an already strong killer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699374#Comment_699374

If you do Overcharge with stacked dresses you can make a skill check cost like 15% of a gen. Without Unnerving that loses all point though, since base Overcharge skill check is easy to hit.

I use to main old Freddy and I've played quite a lot of new Freddy with a lot of tactics. I'm telling you guys that giving him a free anti-BT is really unbalanced. Old Freddy yea throw the dude a bone, but the new one no he is plenty strong.

It was indeed buffed twice. Not intentionally, as they were merely byproducts of the Legion's release (Deep Wound change made it so the timer no longer goes down while chasing the person protected by Borrowed Time) and the Legion's re-balancing (now Borrowed Time timer doesn't go down as long as you are within the Killer's TR, which is a buff against anyone minus Wraith, Pig, and Ghostface; also the Killer can no longer see the timer going down), but they are changes that made Borrowed Time better. Freddy's buff undoes most of that and allows Freddy to counter it similar to other killers who can shut off their TR.

  • Crazy idea: Combine We're Gonna Live Forever and We'll Make It into one perk (doesn't matter which name you take) and change the other into something completely different.

You're splitting hairs and you know it. The nurse has to charge her blink, and then has to release it, makes an attack, and then suffers from fatigue, completing her blink action. The act all occurs before the blink has finished. It's an attack that's far different from a basic attack. That's why blink hits are a different scoring event than non-blink hits, and why, until they decided specifically to change this aspect of how it worked (and rightly so), it wasn't counted as a basic attack when that started to become a common perk condition. The Wraith has to hold his button to come out of cloak, then gets an automatic speed boost for an attack, that's why "surprise hits" are counted as a different scoring event then hits. Similar (though with a slightly different activation with charge) with Hag and phantasm attacks, and Spirit and her Grudge, they're non-basic attacks that are treated as basic despite having special conditions and often a movement boost attached.

Literally the only reasons the Pig's dash isn't counted is because they decided it doesn't, and maybe because the 'attack' isn't a separate button but completes automatically (something devs could easily change if they so desired, and require a deliberate swing at the end of a dash). And even if the latter is the case, it, too, is just a choice, that THIS similarity/difference from other killers is more important than any others that have been highlighted... the Pig's dash not being considered a basic attack is still, in several ways, inconsistent with every other killer is treated, and so it's not really about mythical consistency at all.

I'm giving the exact difference between attacking out of a Nurse blink and Ambush attacks. A Nurse Blink is not an attack. It is a movement option. If you attack in the post-blink, you are still doing the same attack. You are not doing a different attack. If the Nurse Blink functioned such that she instead automatically injures someone she slams into while blinking, THAT would be a non-basic attack because it has a different property from what would be considered a normal attack. Same goes for Wraith. If you uncloak and attack, your attack isn't different from when you normally attack. If Wraith's Windstorm-like ability caused him to tackle someone, that would be a non-basic attack. Having the option to just do a normal attack out of a power use does not make the attack non-basic.

Pig's Ambush, however, IS different from her normal attack. It has a different set-up and execution option from if you were to normally lunge. Another Killer that falls under this is the Demogorgon.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Freddy was in a good spot after his rework. He didn't need this.

The Oblivious effect also negatively affects him since now some perks are useless on him, such as Unnerving which was useless prior to his rework too, and is no useless again.

This new status is a bad decision. Just nerf OOO we don't need this.

Counterpoint: Borrowed Time didn't need to be incidentally buffed twice. This is just dialing it back for one specific Killer. :P

I literally posted a screenshot. There's no insta heal at all.

They could have found one in a chest, maybe?

  • I may occasionally give the last person the Hatch if people DC en masse near the start. That's about it.

  • My proposed change to Remember Me: Revert the numbers back to what they were prior to the nerf, but make it so when there's only one Survivor left, that person automatically becomes the Obsession. That way, the last person is not affected by Remember Me during the EGC once the Hatch closes (which I imagine is the primary reason why it was nerfed)

There would still be the scenario where some Survivors have to deal with Remember Me during the EGC if the Hatch closes after someone uses a Key, but that scenario coming up is 100% in the hands of a Survivor, so that is okay in my book.

Puppers is a red ranker survivor. He can't hit ruin skillchecks on PS4. Just about every PC player I've seen do a video on PS4 had problems hitting Ruin skillchecks. Also the killer is being spoonfed in this case. The survivors may have issues hitting Ruin skillchecks, but the killer has no issues finding them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/698465#Comment_698465

Flashlights, and a Hag cannot stick her traps everywhere without worrying about them. Demo's portals only appear after he teleports through them, AND they take a really long time to close solo, in addition with addons that make it even slower. He also again, has other powers, whereas Hag does not, and Hag is one of the better killers, and he has Hag's power, but slightly delayed. However survivors are ALSO delayed.

That requires them to have a specific item, though. Plus, with the Hag traps, if Survivors give the Hag the opportunity to teleport, they have a very real chance of getting hit right then and there whereas with the Portals, there is more leeway for Survivors to run from the Demogorgon.

This isn't me saying the Demogorgon is bad or anything, but I'm not convinced that the Demogorgon's strength becomes over the top if you slow the game down with something like Ruin.

  • @starpilotsix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/697420#Comment_697420

Sure it does. She literally teleports, using her special and entirely magical ability, and then hits. A basic attack would be if she just hit.

Pig? She just crouches and then runs, and if she hits, she hits with the exact same weapon she hits if she's not ambush-dashing. How is that LESS a basic attack than a Nurse, or a Wraith for that matter who jumps out of literal invisibility?

Of course, the real reason the Nurse's post-blink hits aren't considered basic attacks is because it would mean virtually and perk that involves only basic attacks would never be used because she's not fast enough to get non-blink hits except in the rarest circumstances. Wraith? A lot less sense making there because he actually can pull off hits without directly coming out of invisibility. In both cases, they sacrificed consistency among killers (using your special power as part of a hit) for making a better killer.

If you want consistency, be consistent with THAT philosophy and make Pig's dash attacks considered a basic attack, because she's not a strong killer.

Hell, for that matter, if I'm not mistaken (and I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure I've got all these right, so feel free to point out if I'm wrong), right now, Pig is thoroughly INCONSISTENT: Am I wrong, or does every other killer that has "non-basic attacks" ones where those are only coming from sources OTHER than their main weapon, regardless of whether powers went into using it.. Huntress? Has non-basic attack from a secondary hatchet. Billy/Bubba? Non-basic attack is their chainsaw as opposed to hammer (or other cosmetic weapon). Hag teleport-hits? Basic attack. Nurse teleport-hits? Basic attack. Wraith straight-from-invisibility-hits? Basic attack. Myers/Ghostface Exposed hits? Basic. Demogorgon Shred- Not basic attack, but with the shred you're also using BOTH hands instead of just one. Plague? Not basic attack is a vomit spray instead of her censor.

But Pig? Same weapon as always. Not basic for some reason.

Not consistent at all. At least make Pig's dash a second knife she pulls or something if you're going to justify it.

"Sure it does. She literally teleports, using her special and entirely magical ability, and then hits. A basic attack would be if she just hit."

That's not changing how the attack works. That is changing how the Nurse moves. The Nurse's power is 100% movement based and deals zero damage.

The Pig's ambush attack functions very mechanically different from a basic attack because it has its own specific charge-up time and extended lunge distance.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/698434#Comment_698434

When your teammates always either fail skillchecks or go looking for it, then with Demogorgan it's a problem. Also, in case you haven't seen, some rank one survivors have actually had to go look for Ruin constantly because on PS4 they cannot hit ruin skillchecks to save their lives.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/698448#Comment_698448

Hag requires someone to step on them, unless she has an ultra rare addon that I've rarely even seen used, and her traps don't give a notification if you flashlight them. In addition, her power is LITERALLY only that, she gets nothing else. Demogorgan has 2 powers, 3 if you count the passive seeing people destroying his buttholes.

I mean, a Survivor has to step on the Portals if they want to dismantle it, plus Hag can just stick her traps everywhere without worrying about them being dead unlike Demo portals.

  • Why have it affect all Survivors?

  • @FireHazard said:

I have to agree that Pig hasn't gotten the best updates outside the gate when the DLC dropped, and following after...

But by no means is she bad, shes actually very good at wasting Survivors time in a Trial when effectively using her. The RBTs (Reverse Bear Traps) can be used as a catalyst to not focus on killing them... but to waste their time removing them.

I have a build focused on capitalizing on Survivors wasting time getting the RBT off, and lemme tell you, it works wonders. Especially with Pop goes the Weasel, this perk will regress gens heavily when you hook a Survivor with a RBT, and keep it regressing until they take it off and go back to said gen.

Idk how many times I've done this where Survivors just waste so much time getting a RBT off while the gen they had at 80% or something went back to 20%/10%0% its honestly crazy... Ruin + Pop goes the Weasel on Pig is a god tier combo, the other two can honestly be anything... BBQ, Brutal Strength, Surveillance to keep track of gens, Surge, Overcharge, anything really that focuses on regressing gens.

The problem with the whole time waste factor for the RBTs is that it is not consistent. When you get the good end of RNG, you do get a noticable amount of time, which is good. But when RNG turns against you, your Traps feel like they hardly do anything at all, which is REALLY bad. It's just a complete roll of the dice in regards to whether you actually get a reasonable amount of game stall from the Traps or not. What makes it even worse is that this can extend to her RBT add-ons too, where you are still able to get bad RNG while using them, which just means they go to waste in those cases.

I think she is one of the better weak Killers, but I still think she is weak.

    @casedistorted said:

It sucks because I feel your pain. I used to love playing the Pig and she was one of the first killers I leveled up to max right away, but after her nerfs I just don't feel the urge to play her ever anymore. The fact that Survivors couldn't escape at the end without taking off their traps (unless they found the hatch which is fair game) just made her unique and fun to play.

Now it seems like anytime they don't like the way another killer looks at them they nerf the Pig as punishment.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696401#Comment_696401

Also I remember when pig first came out and one of her challenges was getting a head pop and I actually managed to get one and finish that daily challenge.. I really wish there was a legacy achievement or some bonus for getting that before it was removed. I felt pretty accomplished for something I had nothing to do with but was still incredibly hard to do, haha.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696436#Comment_696436

He wasn't talking about his play time.. he was talking about a bug that had been in the game for two years.

"Also I remember when pig first came out and one of her challenges was getting a head pop"

Lolwut. That was actually a daily challenge at one point? Lol, unless that challenge paid you in Auric Cells, that is hilariously unreasonable.

  • In your effort to make MoM not like DS, you made it an even stronger Borrowed Time, which is already a strong perk.

Plus, with your Decisive Strike change, you're enabling SWF to almost guarantee flashlight saves.

    Not good ideas IMO.

  • If I recall correctly (I could be mistaken, as I did not play the PTB), Spirit was MUCH worse in the PTB. I think the devs initially chalked the negative impressions to people not being used to her, but when it became evident that she was lacking after being properly launched, she quickly received buffs that made her a lot stronger.

  • @starpilotsix said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/696182#Comment_696182

Great, so let's be consistent and make Nurse post-blink hits not count as basic attacks again. Right?

Consistency should ALWAYS lose out to what makes a killer better (to play as, or against). And the Pig's dash is pretty weak as it is, her other power has only 4 uses the entire game (and all must be used before gens are powered or they're wasted), so... consciously deciding to let the Dash work as a basic attack seems like it just makes sense to leave her viable. Just like they consciously decided to make Nurse post-blink hits count as a basic attack.

Nurse post blink hits being basic attacks is consistent. Blinks don't change how her attack works.

  • Far as I can tell, it doesn't matter if you play Killer, Survivor, both, PUBG, Fortnite, CoD, Battlefield, Magic, Yugioh, or Poker. If someone has a toxic mentality, they will probably be toxic no matter what.

Also, Pig did receive a buff just a few patches ago as well, making her not slow down for a second whenever she starts crouching.

From the sound of things, it seems like them taking a look at the Pig won't happen for a bit of a while.

Actually no, I've found you're MORE likely to get a Merciless because on top of all your points you get for stuff done to them in round, you get a bonus because they DC'd

My adept Myers match was on a cornfield map, someone DC'd right before I got them on 3rd hook, AND intentionally dropped the last survivor off at the exit and still 2 pipped.

That's really not true. A DC denies you hooks, which negatively impacts your emblem for hooking/sacrificing Survivors. You were lucky to just not have the DC prevent you from getting a 2pip.

As much as I like that in theory, 1 person DC-ing screws up the entire round and you have to start over. At least with Merciless you get credit for everything done to that person AND get emblem point bonuses because of a DC on top of it

I'm pretty sure back when you just had to 4k to get Adept, a DC counted as a kill. Besides, you are probably less likely to get a Merciless when someone DCs, no?

  • I'd rather have to kill everyone to get Adept than get a Merciless Killer result.
