  • Seen a number of killers putting BBQ + Iron Maiden the last few days. Ouch.

I also try to 'hide' behind generators when I'm working on one and a hook is coming. In general, though, I find lockers to be the main counter and I've tried distortion a few times but yeah, it runs out pretty early in the match. I usually try for lockers with Distortion as a backup if I think I can't make a locker in time.

  • My partner and I try to support games that we play so will likely buy right away. Not sure it I would want to main any of the included characters, though. I do want to make sure at least one survivor has access to all skills in the game, though.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/256901/how-to-instantly-tell-weak-teammates

I have to disagree. An altruistic play style is the strongest way to play survivor. The numbers speak for themselves.

One survivor working on a generator alone finishes it in 80 seconds. Two survivors together finish it in 40 seconds. Three or more and the generator is toast. Pair that with one or more teammates running bond and pairing up on generators and even a decent looper with prove thyself and the killer is toast.

People who dont heal teammates and work together will compromise the entire team. If you let even one teammate die on hook to finish a gen at any stage youre potentially giving the killer multiple free kills. The only case where that isnt true is with a facecamping killer and those can be overcome with altruistic play styles like bringing BT.

That being said the indicator of "weak" teammates is anyone not teaming up to engage in efforts to help the team. If someone doesnt try to heal someone after they unhook them or is generally just wasting time stealthing around the corners of the map lol

The main giveaway to me is if i unhook someone outside the killers TR and they dont let me heal them afterwards. They just run halfway across the map in terror lol

Agreed. Having four members against one is a strength. I might, however, agree with OP. I have never made red ranks though somehow I get about 70 of matches against red rank killers. I won't ever make red ranks because I'm not that narcissistic. I prefer to rescue someone and take the risk of getting killed so that they survive rather than just escaping myself. Sure, I have my share of selfish matches but generally, I do like to try for the rescue that feels against all odds (like a basement camp).

There again, it's true, I believe I will never make red ranks. But I will have fun and not come to hate the game because I'm so intent on being at the top of the ranks.

Get rid of them alongside hatch. Terrible crutch mechanics.

Problem is, when you're the lone survivor, it's very rough to open the gates as the killer simply has to patrol two gate releases and it takes too long to open then to effect an escape.

So once you reach a certain skill level as killer you're just doomed to face a constant barrage of unenjoyable matches where survivors push out 5 generators in 4 minutes?

When did I ever say MMR should not let these survivors play, that's you jumping to a conclusion. If there was a more skilled killer for these survivors to face, they probably would have faced them. We're talking about a killer who has thousands of hours and is waaaaay better than average; how much better a killer can these survivors realistically face?

I 100% agree that the current matchmaking is way too relaxed... but this isn't the solution, or at least not the totality of it. This video just serves as evidence of how unrealistically difficult this game is for killers at the top level.

Well, to be honest, I assumed that this was what competitive or skilled playing was all about?

I am not a competitive player nor very skilled. I play to have fun. I don't try to be highly skilled so I'm not sure what it's like to be in those ranks. Yes, I was jumping to a conclusion - one that seems natural based on your complaint. What are you proposing should happen to highly skilled killers when the only apparent opponents based on skill level are highly skilled survivors? This was the crux of my confusion about your post.

From what I understand about such systems, if that killer 'loses' a match or two against the top-tier survivors, they would then end up against less skilled survivors and not have such a 'barrage of unenjoyable matches'. Should survivors likewise have to face a 'barrage of unenjoyable matches' where the killer wipes everyone out in 4 minutes?

It sounds like this would be a problem with any competitive game or experience where individuals strive to attain top-tier skills. Eventually, it's not about fun but about how you feel about your rank and maintaining that. Maybe the game needs more randomness at higher skill levels to keep things mixed up.

  • Your post confuses me. You're saying that someone as killer, who is a great player with the killer of choice, on a map that feels advantageous to this killer, lost. So should the MMR not let these survivors play? Are you supposing they should have gone against a higher level killer?

Ultimately, at the bleeding edge, there will be outliers where there are just groups of survivors who can beat a single killer. Likewise, I'm sure there are times where a group is completely stymied by a superlative killer.

None of this, to me, should reflect on the MMR system being tried at the time? How would there have been better results with the 'normal' rank matching system? The killer would have gotten an easier team but this team of survivors would have just waited forever because they can beat even a top-tier killer?

    Confusing.

No don’t get rid of my girl Rin. She don’t deserve that. Instead get rid of that joke Hag.

Why does hag get so many traps, compared to Trapper? I get that Trapper can stop the survivor in place, but some of these hags are essentially 'trap camping' a hooked survivor by putting an ocean of traps near on the approaches to a hook.

It's gotten so that when I see someone going for the unhook, I try to run ahead and spring all the traps at full speed in the hopes that I'll be chased and they can get the unhook, thus keeping 3 survivors busy because of SO MANY TRAPS. EW.

Please heal and do the objectives.

I have lost countless games because you spend the entire match chasing the killer to get flashlight saves, you spend the entire game BMing a killer instead of doing the objectives or healing, and then you get mad at the killer when they win.

Getting mad at a Wraith and calling them OP because you refused to heal, so the killer snowballed, does not suddenly validate all your points. Stop throwing games for points and maybe you'd have a better time.

I agree to a point, but just doing 'objectives' isn't necessarily how everyone wants to play. I assume you mean gens -- gate -- escape.

Sometimes, I want to get into chases or get totems or get some fun rescues.

How do you define lost? Have you lost the game if you don't escape? I disagree. There are a lot of ways to win - to me, if it was a good match and hopefully it was a good match for everyone - then that's a win.

I'm not competitive so don't care that much about rank although I do prefer not to -1 if possible, so it is still a factor. usually, if I get caught early and triple hooked right out of the game, that's the worst sort of match - at least for me. I usually spectate and hope the rest of the game is good for everyone else.

Anyway, that's what's tough about a 5 person game, not everyone is working on the same method for enjoying the game as you are.

  • I agree with OP. Just leave out the ranks and let the MMR run and people can instead react to the experience.

Every match isn't going to be perfectly fun for both sides. You have to make the best of what's given you and try to make the game fun for your fellow players. Are you contributing? Or are you just disconnecting or giving up?

  • But I mean, they could literally just use the current bronze - silver - gold - iridescent tier system that kind of permeates areas of the game. Maybe expand on that.

It seems like a good idea, especially seeing that it works in other places. They don't have to reveal the details of the calculation if they don't want but being able to see where one ranks would be helpful.

Well I hope you stick around the game really needs a lot of new players to fall in love with it despite the BS it throws up at times.

I'm not new to the game over 1,000on ps4 over 1,000 on xbox series X a few hundred on Xbox one & Switch & a handful on PC before I decided my work pc just wasn't up to it.

While the current mmr isn't perfect I'm over 50 games in since it started testing again (all recorded too) & it's been probably the best match making in years for me personally.

When the killer scored a 4k they all pretty much deserved it & when we've had a 4 man escape we've generally pretty much deserved it.

I think out of all the games only 1 a trapper was clearly out of their depth & never had a chance.

While I don't discount your own experiences or that of others that have a similar view it should at least be noted that those experiences are ones many of us have endured for years long before mmr.

It's never going to be perfect, it might not even be all that functional but personally I can't see what else they can do that's better, at least from past experience.

Of course maybe hearing all that you'll just decide it's not for you & that's fair enough but like I said hopefully you & a good number of the new players jumping in for resident evil will stick around in theory the bigger the player base the more data & more fair mmr will become

It's AMAZING what experience can show you with many, many hours in this game. I think I'm still at the low end, but I have fun now just gauging how the killer is playing and which perks they might be employing. You come to admire those killers who can really viciously destroy a survivor team (although it's frustrating and can be boring from the survivor perspective), and sometimes you can tell the player is inexperienced with a killer and play accordingly.

I still don't have huge hours in the game but I can see why people get more and more into it. Eventually the little here-and-there single match issues aren't worth worrying about too much and the overall experience of say, an evening all put together, is what's fun. Just sucks ending on a sour note if you get a really good killer and stomped right before bed!

I would rather wait an hour for a game I'm going to enjoy and actually have to play, rather than play four fifteen minute games I am going to get stomped in, that survivors purposely delay for as long as they can because they CAN.

This matchmaking system is not enjoyable for newer killers, and it needs to be fixed.

Great news! THey are working on it, hence this 48 hour business. Unfortunately, we as players have limited information.

A couple points I've gleaned from what's out there:

Ranks likely don't mean anything right now and they are also trying to ensure quick match making

They've changed it up so that killers are actually ranked individually on everyone's account, so if I play a killer I haven't touched before, it's not using the same rank as I usually have for all killers. There is no real way to know exactly how this works except that they put out something that says for killers you haven't played in a long time or haven't played very much, they will match as low rank while stats are gathered to calibrate where this killer should be in matchmaking.

People seem to be really over-reacting to this. I think it would serve a better purpose to hide all ranks and just put some kind of 'percent match' next to everyone. Like green = we think this is a good match for you, yellow = we did not want to make you wait so here's a match, it might not be ideal, red = you'd wait an hour so we threw you to whoever showed up, good luck!

Everyone is too hung up on ranks. Lots of people are also talkiing quality of match but I would assume something like that would take more than 48 hours to even out which of course means it's kind of a short test, imho.

    Have fun out there!

  • @Seraphor said:

One of them escaped, two others got decent scores. So what's the issue with matchmaking here exactly? seems to be working fine.

    "But the ranks"

MMR is being tested specifically because ranks don't accurately gauge skill.

You obviously don't play Myers much, you admitted in post game chat that you're just levelling him up and never going to play him again. You're a newbie Myers and apparently played as such, so it paired you with survivors of a comparable skill level, and it seems to have worked.

The alternative without MMR, you would have gone against an all red sweatfest, 0K, <15k BP. And if it was "broken MMR" like everyone likes to claim it would have been a 4K 32k BP in under 5 minutes.

This is MMR working as it should be, and apparently quite well. The only problem here is the survivors are dicks and apparently also don't understand that ranks don't match skill and are supposed to be ignored for MMR.

I'm not saying MMR is working great or anything, but why don't people realize what you realize here?

It was clear in the 'news' bit that EACH killer will have their own MMR score. Everyone is hung up on ranks. They should hide them for tests like this.

Quick edit: I think an not insignificant portion of people will be up in arms and might quit the game as not worth playing if ranks were removed.

  • Everyone is focusing on the ranks but isn't the point that it's NOT based on rank but factors we can't see as players? Why is everyone pointing out the RANKS they matched with when the idea is that this no longer matters?

How was the match? Did it feel like a reasonable match up or was it not fun?

  • What is the actual system currently in place? My wife and I play together and get a spread but sometimes it's us (purple ranks) and all red ranks. Even rank 1 killers, sometimes.

I like playing killer but it's not so often so I am usually at the back end of ranks and don't really pay attention, just trying to get achievements done and provide a decent game for the survivors.

Hold down the crouch button while being saved and you won't trigger any traps.

Really? I've tried every time and it never seems to work!

  • OP lacks emotional intelligence. So childish, immediately disconnecting and ruining the game for the four other people playing. That's POS behavior right there. Maybe this isn't the game for you.

  • Here's the thing... When another survivor heals me, the 'thank you' is a few quick crouches.

It's considered rude to crouch at killers, so how do you communicate to killers that you've appreciated a match? I'm just into purple ranks and haven't gotten to red ever, so consider me a filthy casual.

Some killers are just very focused on killing, which is fine, but if the match is boring for me as a survivor, I just move on. If it's a good match (provided I'm not dead - yes, I have matches that I enjoy a LOT where I actually die), what's the accepted method to say to the killer 'hey that was a good match'. I'm talking about on console, not PC. I hardly ever play on PC.

Playing last night, we had some fun matches and then a couple of matches where you could tell the killer was all business. One match, the killer was running THREE slow-down perks. Another, the killer was running three detection perks. These killers just went straight for every hook/kill they could very quickly. Other matches, the killer was clearly skilled at things like hook juggling, judicious slugging and so forth. The matches went the distance, had good chases and were fun. If I have an item sometimes I leave it in front of the killer if the opportunity allows, but expression is limited.

    1. Crouch
    2. Spin in circles (mostly fun with Ghost Face for some reason)
    3. Point (many times I've tried to point to the killer to say like 'you're the MAN' or whatever, and they just head off in that direction, wondering what I'm on about).
    4. Pointing at a hook when I'm OK with the killer hooking me if they're farming or had a bad match

I can't really use the 'come here' gesture.. Kinda wish we had something like applauding or clapping or something?

Clapping might be cool because it could also make a little noise but I'm sure it would be abused. Anyhow, doing my best out here, y'all.

    ACE MAINS RISE UP.

What I mean is that there are to many sheep's nowadays and just jump on the bandwagon of their favourite content creator.

Sure there are still people who can at least think for themselves, but many will believe almost everything others say.

And i don't mean you personally as a content creator who stated she doesn't have counterplay, there are many more same as the opposite.

But it doesn't take away the fact many will believe everything you say.

Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if a content creator would say legion or plague for example are OP or doesn't have counterplay, and more than half of their fanbase/viewers/followers will jump on and say the same without actually trying to get to a conclusion of their own.

That is all I was trying to say and was not an attack to anyone personally.

And yes I believe she has counterplay.

    Did I follow the mass?

Nope, just by trying things for myself, and sure some things I've seen others too.

Again, it was nothing personal, it's just behaviour I noticed over the years.

I respectfully disagree. I usually find certain creators persuasive but agreeing with one doesn't tip the scales like you say. Trust me, other people are as real as you are and although, yes, there are a percentage of people who will just absorb and parrot things, in general, people who agree or disagree are really, for real, thinking on their own and just happen to have a real opinion, just as valid as yours, just as thought out as yours or perhaps even more, that might be expressed in a way you don't like but that's not something invalid.

Posting is not going to change opinions. If someone agrees, coming from the angle of saying that people are agreeing because they can't think for themselves will persuade exactly 0 people to a different opinion. Making persuasive arguments will work fine, of course. Combining the two poisons the well.

  • Camping is just the killer being a dick to one survivor.

It is your choice as a survivor to rush in and get downed in pairs or more.

I also hate it but honestly, they counter is to do gens while he is camping and escape.

I find that Kindred + open-handed is a great combo that someone can take that benefits the whole team. A lot of camping killers understand the kindred radius so will "proxy camp" or "patrol" or whatever. Open Handed increases the radius and I always laugh to see killers effectively looping outside what they think is the detectable Kindred radius when I can see they aren't near other survivors. That hooked survivor is a guaranteed survivor magnet, so it's a viable strategy, especially with a killer that can down multiple survivors if they group up.

There are strategies on both sides that are boring or stink if you're on the receiving end but I think that changing the game to counter them only leads to an worse game.

  • The real problem is for the unhooked. You can crouch up and unhook someone and it's IMPOSSIBLE for them to be crouching when they land, thus setting off a trap if it's close.

Hag and Trapper are nowhere near the same. The Trapper's traps are much fewer - sometimes I see Hags spamming 5 or six traps around a hook. THey also have a huge radius compared to the Trapper's. All in all, it really does feel miserable going against a hag playing this way and I usually can't wait to get to the next match.

Like I said I like the guy and he makes decent points but just like he also says as well he hates when people quote him and his videos and act like a hive mind instead of forming their own opinions.

Wouldn't making up one's own mind including being persuaded and agreeing with someone, though? If the argument convinces more people than not, that's still people making up their own minds. Are you sure you aren't just being contrary for other reasons like maybe you don't like the creator or just don't like being of the minority opinion?

I don't agree one way or another but it sounds like you assume everyone that doesn't agree with you is doing it mindlessly.

  • My understanding is that they can get the rights to the character but that doesn't give them the rights to an exact actor's face. Hence, they do their best to use the name and kind-of-sort-of make the character.

  • Kindred + Open Handed will change your world.

  • I'm not good at chases. So my matches are:

    1. Get found first, have a crappy match, sometimes 1-2-3 hooked and no fun.
    2. Hide until the killer chases/injures someone else and have a more productive match.

Rarely, I will escape a first chase or whatever, but more and more, matches just feel like everyone hiding until the first person is chased or hit. I agree with the sentiment here that the survivors should all spawn together but I'm not sure what the other repercussions of such a thing would be.

  • I really liked the skulls. It conveyed the four survivors with the killer represented as the slash across them all. THis is just .. hashmarks I'd put on the cell wall to count the days until I get out of solitary...

    The identity has disappeared.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2225266#Comment_2225266

That’s the thing though.. apparently those killer players stop playing the actual game and start to concentrate on such things and only target according to that.

This was a thing before, for example killers singling out characters that are people of color. And it was always against game rules and reportable/bannable with sufficient proof.

Yeah we've noticed weird stuff like this in the past. I have been mainning Ace and my wife is mainning Feng Min. sometimes we suddenly notice weird stuff like.. a killer who always hooks female survivors and leaves male survivors slugged.. Like... whut? Never noticed it being racial although we used to play Dwight/Claudette.

Jokes on them, I like to main Nea a lot, too. In fact, I stopped playing Dwight in my early days because somehow, playing Nea, even with the same build, I was surviving better and interpreted that killers were targeting Dwight...

But seriously, one wonders what's the point. It feels often like there is a world of chill people that just let other people be themselves and other people that somehow have to project onto other people for some reason.

Even if I was to dislike a group, I don't see what doing this ######### in a video game is for? What are you showing or proving? Does not compute.

  • And if there's evidence, the charm is barely a factor. If I say something improper to another player, it's the saying that's the problem, charm or no.

I'm more interested in killers that have time to calculate activity based on charms? I never even notice them on players except when playing survivor in the lobby. Otherwise, I don't even look.

  • I don't think f things as toxic but I wish people would put more hours in as both sides and frankly, I wish everyone, from Behaviour to us players on both sides would think of the fun factor at different points.

Some things can be used more ... oppressively? and makers the game not-fun for the other side. But "this sucks" is about as far as I like to go these days. It gets a little weird, for instance, when a killer wants to carry you t hatch, drop you, shut the hatch in your face THEN hook you. That's not particularly fun for the survivor, imho. Just get the hook done and let me move on to the next match.

There again, last night, I was watching my wife as last survivor as she tried to get the gate open against Ghost Face. We never saw him coming because he hid around the corner from the switch, waited until the gate actually opened then pounced on her. We both never saw him coming and that was clever and entertaining. I was shouting and it was fun. That's a good example of making the game fun while still doing "killer things".

I'm impressed when a killer can "hook juggle" and not start killing survivors until everyone is on death hook. Much more than someone that just hooks what they can, even it they're 1-2-3'ing one survivor. That's not fun for that survivor and it makes a ######### game.

In a way, I think some killers realize that in some ways they are something of an entertaining host(?) and they have the capacity to both accomplish their goals AND make the game fun for the opposition.

I guess it's killing with style? I appreciate those killers.

If you slug the second-to-last survivor so you can avoid anyone possibly getting hatch, you feel like an accountant making sure all of the spreadsheet cells are accurate. Dry and boring. If you play like the Ghost Face I mentioned above or if you leave a slug because you know they're on death hook and they can be rescued and keep having fun? Thanks for making the game fun!

Yes but you run the risk of turning away new players. As MM is now rank 20s are more often paired with other rank 20s unless they queue up with higher rank SWF or are playing killer during the worst peak hours that MM prioritizes time over rank so badly that 16s are up against 2s.

Well, maybe. I don't think it really does that any more.

I move around rank 11-12 and my wife is usually 8-9. We have been getting rank 1-5 killers regularly the last week. We can tell almost right away when it's a 'good' killer. I almost feel like it would be easier to not know the killers' ranks after the match. Knowing I went up against a rank 1 is a little discouraging, in a way. Maybe we're playing during peak hours like you mentioned..

I haven't played much killer except to get some dailies done or get some quick blood points when my wife isn't playing, so I haven't ranked up as killer but I don't think I'm getting dramatically higher ranked survivors.

  • @TheMadCat said:

I'd still play. I stopped to look how many pip I lost/win, I stopped to look at my rank... And I'm still playing.

At the end of a match, I click immediately on Continue to jump to the next game. I even stopped to check my teammates/opponents ranks.

I don't care about ranks. But it took me months before I stopped to care. Now, I'm focusing on improving my gameplay, no matter what happens during the game.

I stop on the end screen when the the opposition does something I can't explain. I recently learned how the Demogorgon could apparently find me halfway across the map in a locker (I think it was portaling showing him my aura even though I was in a locker to try to avoid BBQ).

I usually know what's up with survivors when I'm trying to kill them and they pull something off due to mostly playing survivor with my wife.

  • "... as with any game, sadly you'll experience some toxicity. What we're working on for this is the auto-ban feature. So at the end of every match in the tally screen you know there's this option where you can report a player for some negative behaviour, applaud them for doing something well, and right now this is our customer support team that is looking over it manually. What we're doing with this change is this is going to an automated system if players receive a certain amount of negative reports we are going to take action and we're going to let you know that your report is actually having an effect on this and we're going to thank you for it."

I don't think I've seen an exact transcript of what was said on the stream yet, so here it is for ya.

I think they're selling the 'auto' part of this a little too hard. It sounds to me like they had to manually just look at the records for patterns before and now they will have something that notifies support when someone has a lot of bans.

Also, it will only be tied to end of match, so I wouldn't be too afraid of mass reporting as you'd have to do it at the end of each match.

Definitely wait and see on this one but they're going to be careful of their business model, I'm sure.

Wraith has always had the reputation of being a weak killer, but taht era is over. Frankly I never though Wraith was a weak killer; he was problematic to verse for many reasons (the main one being how difficult it is to maintain positioning against him -- which is the most important skill in the game for a survivor) but he was fine before and indeed a bit on the weaker side without his super add-ons.

Now though that is simply not the case. Wraith has beenoverbuffed, with his invisibility buffs, his decloak buffs, and everything else. Wraith is OP right now and everyone knows it but no one will admit it here. I play DBD these days it's basically the Wraith show -- it's close to how Spirit was 2 years ago.

Every other game is Wraith. It's like how every game was a Spirit back then. Even during a Tome where Plague is the featured killer.

And he is practically unstoppable. Without add-ons he's manageable but still a headache. With Swift Hunt and Windstorm he is practically unbeatable.

I know all the killers will still say he is still weak, but this isn't really the case. Worse, Wraith still attracts the worst of the killer playerbase -- the tunnelers and campers who will just kill someone off the bat by tunneling hard. And if Wraith wants you dead you are dead. You can't lose him, you can't outrun him, and you can't even see him!

They need to dial Wraith back down a bit. He's in a similar position as Leatherface (overcompensated buffs) but frankly it's atrocious how meta he is now.

Agree here. Sometimes (albeit at lower ranks - I'm around 11), the Wraith will uncloak next to me and hit me even when I see his heat shimmer coming and run to escape. Additionally, along with a lot of killers since reset, the wraith killers I come against will "patrol" near the hooked and then zoom back in to get a quick 1-2-3 hook on one survivor which is boring for the survivor.

Tunneling and camping is kind of a whatever situation. I've seen survivor groups do nothing under these circumstances and groups also get at least a couple of survivors out by working gens hard during camping/tunneling. It's just a strategy that happens to boring af for survivors.

there are no endless loops around a pallet, because the killer is always faster as survivor

Yes, the killer is faster than the survivor but... the killer has a larger "pill", the roughly cylindrical area around the killer that must circle around terrain and objects. So the distance a killer has to run around a set terrain piece is slightly longer than a survivor's path around the same piece, resulting in survivors being able to cut corners faster than killers.

as ds and unbreakable can only be used once its better to just eat the ds

I honestly don't understand why everything has to have a 'counter'? No one perk gives a survivor or killer an instant loss, so why does everything need a counter?

    It's an asymmetric game.

thanks, I will be sure bring oni with franklins demise >:)

I love playing Oni with the minotaur skin. Knowing how scary all that stomping, roaring and snorting is, plus tracking by blood orbs is so fun!

i do but what i find fun not everyone does

killer i play with a more competitive mind set, to me its fun. If i see the survivors are messing around sometimes ill flip my script and play along.

survivor i play with a more mess around mind set. dont really ever flip the script with this though.

i dont ever play too much on one mindset, killer cause it gets to be a pain once upon a time i did and just overall hated the game so i toned it back a bit. survivor cause i know there are 3 others and im not trying to ruin their experience.

    This.

My opinion is that the problem with us as players is the emphasis on rank. I know there are competitive players and I also know that I have never had the skill or wherewithal to be a top end player at any game.

In this game, I play killer quite often. I initially leveled Bubba up to get BBQ out there, then immediately worked to get that on killers I like to play. I play to have a good time as killer and try to provide a fun and engaging game if the survivors are into it. I try to hook juggle so that players aren't bored because they're just 1-2-3 hooked out. But sometimes it does happen. I don't camp but if someone's in the area, I will try to hunt them down. I love to head back to a hook and if someone is about to unhook, I just stalk or stand there and watch them unhook and leave before chasing. I find that stuff fun.

I like playing pig. I like the more playful 'boop the snoot' stuff and surprising people with stalking. I like trying to slow things down with traps but not to make it boring. I usually will scare people who are removing traps but not actually attack them, giving them more of a chance.

I play survivor a lot with my wife. She plays Claudette and does better than me. I mix it up but usually play Nea because my Nea has so many perks. I intend to be an Ace main once I get him more perks. She's around 7, I'm around 10. I love unhooking. My typical build includes Borrowed Time and Deliverance. I also like to use all kinds of perks and experiment. I like to engage the other survivors and killer. I try to get 2 generators and two unhooks per match but don't sweat about it. My favorite thing is to throw caution to the wind and save someone off hook during end game collapse. THis often results in my dying but the other person surviving. That's a lot of fun, to me.

It's a fun game but trying to compete or focusing to much on KILL KILL or ESCAPE ESCAPE seems to hamstring the fun.

Go on now, I give you all permission to have fun. Try that weird perk without looking up the best build on the internet. Goof around in the game rather than making it such an oppressive rank grind. It's better down here.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Did....did a survivor player just say that I can do that?

    Bad news, though:

I also give permission for survivors to play however they want.

There, that about sews it up. Y'all go have fun. If it's not fun, figure out what is and go do that.

  • Hey killers,

You have my permission to play however you want.

  • If anything comes along significant enough to shift the meta, the community will go ballistic as they will claim it's "game breaking".

  • I mean, that's when you know they're hiding or using something like Spine Chill. If gens aren't moving, you're succeeding at delaying.

In a way, I agree with OP. I like a game with many solutions. The online community for this game has a very narrow definition of what's success as both killer and survivor which I think I disagree greatly with. Then again, I never will not do I care about becoming a rank 1 survivor.

    It's Darth Vader

Yes, with no suit. Just pulling himself along on the one are looking for some burn ointment. That's why the arm is in the teaser - it's all he's got.

    My guess is the Rake.

It matches the physical design, being pale. The snarls sound remarkably similar to the rake.

The attached twitter quote has references to the past being a burden. Which matches the Kake perfectly.

The Killer in the trailer can be heard running on all 4s, which matches the Rake.

Theres no trademark for the reveal, which works for the Rake since it's public domain.

Leaks By Daylight had the killer purchasable with Shards, the Rake being Public Domain makes that extremely easy.

If its not the Rake, it's OC or I have no clue.

Mate did you know that Deathgarden tried to get more players by making the game free at one point?

Meaning people got the mask for free anyways lol

Yeah, using the steam code for the game, I got it free on PC yesterday just for this. I don't play much on PC, mostly on PS4 but if someday there's cross-progression with those two, maybe.
