  • Against randoms everything is a powerhouse though. In fact, if you're a somewhat experienced killer and you don't stomp 99% of the matches, you really must be doing something wrong.

Against SWF, if they're good and know what to do, Twins' power considerably decreases. But that's every killer.

  • That could be said for literally every recurring thread talked about 400 million times a day for years (SWF, DS, Exhaustion Perks...)

"Please stop talking about the things I disagree with so we can only talk about what is right for me"

When the killer tunnels you out of the match within the first minute or so, that is not fun. When the killer camps your hook to make sure you don't get to play the game, that is not fun. You're completely missing the point here. It doesn't matter that killers are not obligated to play under "made up fun rules." What matters is happy customers at the end of the day. No one is asking for killers to give up every match and let the survivors run around under no fear or pressure of being caught. In fact I would argue that is why most survivor mains play survivor in the first place. They want to be chased by a scary killer. What they don't want is to feel like that interaction was a lost cause and the match ends faster than it took for them to get into it.

Why do you assume they care about all of that? have you seen how biased and entitled they are?

  • Have you seen some of the members of this forum though. They're extremely killer sided, spend 24 hours in this forum, and will defend the most bizarre and crazy ideas as long as they get crutches to then think they can actually play when they stomp 4 randoms lol

  • SWF teams will be more or less the same, Behaviour hates solo Q because they're a minority compared to killers and SWF so they don't give a flying feck about them. I won't play killer after the update I don't think, because if it was easy before, now it's just going to put me to sleep very quickly. Survivor, I'll have to try but I doubt I'll play much.

  • If they don't crutch they can't win (most Nurse players anyway) so it's perfectly normal and doesn't surprise me

  • Yeah, back to "outplaying" everyone by buying a good headset and following sounds I guess lol

  • Behaviour: "wE aRE ShaKInG uP THe MeTA"

Also Behaviour : Let's make meta perks useless but make meta perks mandatory anyway

  • This guy is the literal cover killer in this game though. This is what most people who are killer sided lurking around the forums are like. They basically want to watch a cutscene, not compete against other living breathing players in a video game.

  • Nurse won't be touched because it's the go-to crutch for killers who need their ego stroked. They like to think they're good because "Nurse is difficult" (she isn't) and "she requires a lot of skill to win" (she doesn't). If being as broken and ridiculous as she is you already have people dedicated to professionally whine 24-7 on this forum for a living, imagine if she was actually a fair and balanced killer.

  • @Mandy said:

Reducing the strength of the majority of the perks was necessary if you want to do things from a balanced view. Base game changes were also included as well.

There is no way you can buff a perk so that it would be as useful as Dead Hard for example, without it being completely overpowered in regular play - hence the need to rework the current meta perks and buff/rework other perks so that they will replace the meta...and give people a chance to use other perks without feeling like they need to use specific perks.

I totally understand that players get attached to certain perks and feel a sense of loss when things change - we saw it previously with Hex Ruin. But that's part of the fun of a live game, that things like that can and will change - shaking up the meta is a great way to breathe freshness into the game. We've all complained about seeing the same builds over and over, and this is really going to change that up a bit.

How does replacing an obvious meta with an even more obvious and mandatory meta change anything and keeps things fresh? Literal lol

If Solo Queue is really as miserable as most people claim, are those two perks REALLY saving you as much as you think they are?

No, they're absolutely not saving you as much. But if it buys you maybe 40 more seconds, that's 40 more seconds that you'd not have otherwise.

  • Because we must have every license and every franchise, so they can continue to drag players in without actually addressing the issues it has.

  • @RussellMan said:

Its just those two perks I'm concerned about, I run them for almost every killer. It keeps the match longer and shows me where to go so i don't have to camp like a noob

I'm sure you have a lot of reasons to keep those perks. Just like survivors have a lot of reasons to use their deadhards, DS, BT... they did say they'd implement base kit mechanics. We'll have to wait and see.

  • Well if their goal is to change the meta, you need to change meta perks. Not changing meta perks... would result in no change in the meta. Unless for you "meta" only means survivor meta. And I don't think what you want is for killers to keep all their meta, but change the survivors only, right?

  • @ColonGlock said:

This game has no real win conditions. It is what you decide a win is. Change your goals and the frustration dissapears

But it does. Surviving for survivors counts as a win, and killing for killers counts as a win. No other factor is taken into account. That's what lowers/increases the MMR. If you "change your goals" you better have very, very low standards, because your MMR will plummet into the underworld, where there's a blendette and 2 megs having a picnic in a bush.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

You are playing her wrong. The hit validation is very annoying though.

Hit validation is a joke. I get hit from Mars every game.

  • The game is objectively speaking the most killer sided it's ever been today lol

  • My inability to draw the most simple things admires your skill. Congratulations!

in Thank you Comment by Sumnox
  • If it means they actually fix tunnelling and camping without needing to occupy 2 perk slots just for it, then it's good news. The tremendous amount of resources you have to waste as a survivor just because someone feels like ruining the game for all the rest, is long overdue for a change.

  • Sadako is kind of amusing. She reminds me of old Freddy. I loved old Freddy. It was so fun to play as and against. I'd say she only needs her TV powers to be slightly buffed, but she needs to keep her stealth aspect. Not every killer has to be exactly the same and be strong at chase.

  • @Peanits said:

We would rather come up with a way to make them less effective rather than punishable.

Could you hint at how this could be done? Not saying to tell me exactly what you're gonna do but is it going to be, extending the time you struggle on hook to buy others more time, something impacting the match directly, or something more passive like "You lose pips or points if you camp":

  • @Munqaxus said:

I know, isn't that completely stupid. CoH isn't really being used anymore anyway, after the nerf. They should have left CoH as is, so there "might" be a reason to bring that perk. LOL.

Heck, maybe they'll buff the boon totems so people might actually bring them now. That would be the only reason to even introduce a perk like that for killer.

So many weird, weird decisions by the developers

But have you seen a lot of people in this forum? They claim CoH is instant win (together with Deadhard) so they need to feed the babies some candy. So now it's even contradictory. Boons are being nerfed, nobody ever uses them anymore, then make a perk to make it even less likely someone will bring boons.

We're back to square 1 lol

  • So wait, have I understood it correctly? If I'm the last survivor and I get downed by the edge of the gate, do I automatically get moried when I could have escaped before this is implemented?

If that's the case, it -is- actually a horrible change. Things happening automatically in a competitive game are really boring.

Don't bother with people like them.

(From experience) They will create the most specific scenario (because they think there is only one) in which something they deem as "too strong" will fit their opinion. In other words, it's never "The generator is about to pop, but I was able to get there in time and they were in a dead zone so DH didn't do anything for them". You will never hear them utter those words in these forums.

Even though we know literally EVERY, not one, not two, but EVERY exhaustion perk is able to produce x amount of seconds extended chase time. With some SB, Lithe, BL being able to get the killer off of you period. Which basically means that DH is right there with those.

You would think for someone who supposedly cares about numbers and values they would have the ability to recognize this as well.

Yeah, I realised too late they were only trolling. My bad. I shouldn't have engaged for as long as I did. Complete waste of time. Appreciate it nonetheless mate!

  • Yup, that's the forums for you.

  • @Carrow said:

Wraith is pretty decent at low MMR and he won't make you pick up bad habits that would hurt you when switching to other killers.

Also, you could give Trapper a try. He will help you understand the most basic chase mechanics, and maybe even the most common looping spots or pallets/windows spots.

And we're back to you taking the time it takes to bless a Totem into the healing process, as if you're only blessing a Totem when you need the heals, which tells me you have no idea how to even use the Perk, and are probably the type of Survivor to Self-Care in a corner

Do you even understand words when you see them? Why do you keep arguing with yourself about stuff you made up? For the millionth time, I'm starting to worry about you, it depends on the situation.

If CoH is already placed or there's several of them set up, then chances are the perk might be better (you still have to reposition as well)

If CoH isn't placed because you're the only one who can place it and it's not up, or it's been snuffed, or any other reason, and you need to quickly heal to make a save or run for a gate, then Self Care is going to be better.

I'm just baffled at how difficult this is to understand for you. I might be right after all and you just don't own the game LOL

As far as I know you don't even have the game installed. You produced the most ridiculous post I have ever read:

    ThatOneDemoPlayer Posts: 3,886

A normal chase, without Dead Hard lasts about 45 seconds, that's 56.25% worth of Generator time. If the Survivor wiggles off, the Killer has to waste about 15-30 seconds again, depending on if the Survivor plays well or not. That's, 1 minute or more, which is 75% of a Generator. If wiggling off only requires 1 extra Survivor, that's 2 Generators about to pop.

If wiggling off required 2 Survivors, then only a single Generator would've been about to pop, which would be more fair, as when 2 or more Survivors decide to sabotage Hooks and take hits, the Killer can't do anything about it other than dropping the Survivor, which will lead to a quick pick up later on

I mean, someone who says this can't even own the game.

Yes, base-kit, not including Add-Ons, which is correct.

A good Nurse, without Add-Ons, has an equal chance at winning against equally skilled Survivors

But she doesn't. Because her very "perfect design" according to you, goes against every mechanic and her drawbacks are not nearly enough to justify her powers.

I mean, you still have an inflated ego, with your constant reposts of your steam profile showcasing you're "amazing" amount of hours.

And yes, your opinion on Self-Care being better than CoH is made up of subjective experiences, not factual data

You do realise there isn't factual data that proves CoH is better right? You can show me date of usage, or quote your friends saying it's better. That's it. The fact of the matter is, which perk is stronger is highly situational, I can show you scenarios where CoH is better, and where Self Care is better.

For me, and the kind of matches I get, Self Care is the superior choice. Do you want to use CoH? go ahead! I mean. I honestly don't care what perks you use buddy.

Also, since you seem to like my profile a lot, and you constantly bring it up, here you go again: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Sumnox/

I'm waiting for the person whose opinions are facts, to come to your aid very shortly, perhaps we should all go to discord at some point and discuss this better, since we keep derailing the thread that is about Deadhard, by the way.

...No, that's not what you said.

You said 'Nurse is perfect', and claimed that the people disagreeing with you believed that (as well as claiming they want to instantly win every game).

SuzuKR isn't saying anything like that. They are saying that Nurse's basekit is perfectly fine, but her addons create problems. I actually agree with this.

And I don't agree with it. You say Nurse is perfect, and I say she's the most unfair and broken killer in the game.

You say CoH is better than Self Care, and I say it's not.

Though you said your opinions are facts, I'm afraid I'll continue being against those facts.

  • Alright, be the most excited about a single perk nerf, instead of a proper health patch or worthy new content.

Some people in this forum, I swear lol

  • Lmao, I also did this a couple times. They all did both times. It's hilarious how survivors will literally throw themselves at you.

If you get this once every long while it's fun. If you got this all the time it'd get really boring

  • Another "I lost one match in this map so it must be the map and not me" thread.

It has decently strong spots in the houses to use, and then the map is 90% a deadzone.

Do you want to increase the deadzone to a 100% instead? Would that make you feel better?

  • @StarLost said:

Find me one example of anyone you're talking about saying that.

    I'm serious.

    Go on, I'll wait.

But no, once again you're falling back on the 'everyone but me is massively biased, this is all a giant conspiracy of killer mains' ridiculousness.

    @Valik said:

It is no secret that Nurse is balanced on a pin's tip.

Her power circumvents the conventions of the game, making many killer perks useless to bring on her - and many survivor perks useless to bring against her.

She's extremely punishing to learn, and there's a fine line between those who can end a survivor team quickly and those who must 'git gud' and improve on their Nurse skills. Likewise, survivors that have grown comfortable with the conventions of the game can often find themselves in the middle of a rude awakening as they struggle to contend with this extremely unique killer.

She really does not need a rework, she's in a very strange place as-is.

But here's a question I'd love to see some answers to:

What direction should she go in if she had to move?

Does she need to stay focused on being straightforward and punishing to play for newer players?

Does she need to be slightly less as deadly in the hands of a master and slightly more approachable?

Should she start the match super weak and become a snowball machine (Oni, Meyers, etc.) ?

Or should she start off strong and fall off as the match progresses (Legion, Ghostface, etc.) ?

Should she become louder and far easier to spot?

    Should she become stealthy?

Or should the only changes be considered be animation and modeling updates?

    Why or why not?

I'd love to hear what the community feels about our favorite RN of the fog!

There are many different opinion on this killer, and I want to hear them all.

    In this case? Yes.

Because I can defend my opinions with common sense and numbers. You can only resort to 'I've played this game a lot, and I think you're wrong'.

Note how everyone has been telling you why you are incorrect on all of this?

While the majority isn't always right, when the overwhelming majority disagrees with you - you damned well better be able to give stronger arguments than 'because I say so'.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yX_1gJ_51M&ab_channel=ThatKidFromSpace23

"Everyone", I'll tell you who everyone is: 3 people that belong to the same extremely biased group of "nurse is perfect", "killers should insta down teleport and shoot stars off their hands" and "100% of the player base is sweaty 10k hours SWF".

My care about what that specific group of people, who demonstrate 0 objectivity says, is zero.

When you say something I find reasonable, I will say so. I have no problems addressing when something is correct. So far you simply haven't.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2953946#Comment_2953946

Sigh. When you have to put words in someone else's mouth, it generally means that you have no response to what they were actually saying.

What 'facts'? You've been factually wrong since the start of this lot.

I used a general consensus, because I know how this dance goes. I'll say 'oh, Otz said that' and you'll respond with 'oh, Otz isn't a good player because x y z' and it becomes a pissing match. But the general consensus is there - Tru3, Otz, Dowsey and Tofu have all opined that CoH is a bleeding edge top tier perk - amazing for solos, broken in SWFs.

My point is that time doesn't always mean you are correct. As you so...perfectly demonstrate here, sometimes all it means is that you've been wrong for longer.

I explained why CoH is strong, via simple common sense. But I'll do it again, since you didn't bother responding last time (and skipped right to the 'I've played for 5k hours so I'm right' dodge).

    • CoH gives a souped up self-care to the entire team, for the price of a single slot.
    • CoH takes a bit longer initially, but even a 1k hour noob like myself can locate a totem fairly fast and once it's up, it's extremely powerful.
    • Plenty of maps have semi-guaranteed totem spawns in a spot where CoH can blanket almost the entire map, and be a massive time commitment to snuff. The top of IWOM is the easiest example. Remember, CoH is a cylinder, meaning that on smaller maps with a lot of verticality it's exponentially more powerful.
    • CoH stacks with other healing perks so well that, with a good medkit, you can heal someone mid chase.

    There.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2954018#Comment_2954018

    @Sumnox said:

Not for me, no. I have to carry the randoms most of the time, and if I bring CoH, I simply don't have the time to setup the boon, heal and go unhook. Self Care is just so much better. If I'm in a group with competent people, then sure.

    About sums it up.

  • OP lol. Yeah, this reminds me when Power Struggle was going to be meta, when Overcome was to be meta... Just like Alert. Do you think Alert is OP as well? it reveals the aura for even longer!

  • I despise Nurse with all my soul, so I can't be neutral here. But next time just play normally and don't pitty give them the exit. Just kill them.

  • All of them. Screw it.

That would shake up the meta alright.

I just am so confused like it's just awful like every match is the same thing no matter how I play I have tried all the ways I can think of to like make games as fun as possible I go out of my way not to tunnel people and I don't camp yet it's like they have some kind of vendetta and I am just lost. Like I get it's just a game, so I shouldn't feel unhappy about it because people can be awful, but it's actually starting to get to me like I don't have fun these matches I don't get super mad, but it really doesn't make me happy. Like I don't understand how or why anyone would get mad at a perkless killer or Demogorgon with meme addons, every game feels like the survivors think I took away everything they cared for or something because they genuinely are awful.

Like I'm not one of those people who are like oh this made me into a basement Leatherface main, but I don't really feel the same way I did about the many posts complaining about tunneling or camping anymore, like genuinely don't. The constant games like this I have played just really made me realize that survivors aren't much better when it comes to toxicity. When they literally take it out on anyone they come across just like the toxic killers, like if anything I won't wanna play much anymore because of these experiences that I had so eventually they are just going to play against constant people with the same mindset as them to make the game as miserable and unfun as possible for the other side.

Also sorry for my venting, like just really felt a bit sad after those games, maybe it's time to take a break from dbd for a while I suppose lol maybe the nicer people will come back during the anniversary chapter if not I'm not sure what ill play because dbd really was my favorite game.

You sound like you need a break. I've taken many breaks from this game, and I play since release. This game has a way of getting under your skin also because there's a certain amount of RNG to it. That means, it will put you in situations you will feel are unfair and out of your control, doesn't matter how well/bad you play. This causes frustration and toxicity. But can also give you hilarious moments.

I'd say, take a break or play some sur... ehhhh just take a break.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 11
