Don't you realise it's both? Why do you think those survivors play the way they play? And of course the killer who plays against them will also camp, tunnel and be generally toxic in return.
Who was first? egg/chicken scenario. We don't know who started it, probably back in 2016 because survivors were by far the power role (not anymore) they were the ones who made it their fun to ridicule the killer, especially SWF. From there, killers got more and more toxic as well, and the snowball effect started.
If I had to guess, it was SWF that started the cycle, and this is what we have now in 2022.
But it's not survivors lately. it's both.

They took 5 years to fix a supposed bug Deadhard had.
That's all you need to know about them.

Lol did you just say nurse is fun and engaging? Also ######### counter play is their to a good nurse? Dont even say use counter play that works against noob nurses
Get ready for an obvious list of 10 hours gameplay "counters"
The usual no brain list: Break LoS, be unpredictable...
-
Well, these are the same people that designed Nurse, Blight full of exploits, released Twins and broke the game in the process, and need literally years to fix 1 perk that was supposedly bugged (Deadhard)
Not expecting anything from them is foolish.

How does one breed a Meg main?
A Meg main is born out of players who can't look back. These are players with neck issues, or players who only have their target destination in mind. A Meg main will hold W and simultaneously spam space, to run from one border of the map to the other, throwing every pallet the Meg main encounters on the way. The Meg main will not under any circusmtance look behind, and will bring Sprint Burst for maximum W distance.
Meg main will preferably bring medkits to the trial, though sometimes will bring a Toolbox because from time to time there's a generator or two in their path. You will never get unhooked by a Meg main, unless your hook happens to be in the straight line they're using to reach their final destination. Because their ability for strategy is severely limited to aimlessly running, they can excel versus killers like pig, or sometimes Huntress in indoor maps, where collision objects and walls will do the hard work for them.
Finally, Meg mains bring a % bonus to failure to the match they're in. For every Meg main your trial has, there's a 15% increase in the chances that match will be lost for the survivor side.

If you get caught in a Dead-Zone that doesn't have any objectives, like Generators or Totems, and then get found by a Nurse, and then proceeded to die, you played badly. There was absolutely no reason for you to be in there, but you were and you got punished for it
... But that's why I specifically said there might be objectives there. You can't outplay the RNG of DBD. That's like me saying "If you get outplayed by survivors, you're bad"
What survivors? randoms or SWF? Map? Killer?
There's a million factors. Then again, if you say "this survivor is bad", because 99% of survivors are bad, you're probably gonna be correct most of the time.
-
I thought this was gonna be a thread to ######### on Meg mains. They're... an interesting breed indeed.

Yes, Nurse and Blight need a few Add-Ons nerfs, but not everyone runs those Add-Ons.
You're not supposed to 1v1 the Killer. If you are injured and get found in a bad spot, then that's on you being bad and not on the Killer being overpowered.
Yes, if you get outplayed by Nurse, you're bad
"If you get outplayed by Nurse you're bad"
That's a very broad and ambiguous statement, then again, most of what you say falls into that category. For example, in open dead zones with no LOS breakers, if any decent Nurse catches you, you're most likely going down. Sometimes you're healing someone/cleansing a totem/repairing, whatever. Doesn't necessarily mean you're bad or the Nurse is good. There's RNG situations to this game nobody can predict.
-
Ho...what?
-
Am I the only one who thinks this is getting ridiculous? Every day there's literally 30 threads about the same topics.
"REMOVE SWF, UNFAIR, NERF DHD, NERF DS AGAIN!!!!"
"NERF LOCKERS!!!"
I mean, Jesus Christ, if a locker is the fuel to your nightmares, maybe stop playing killer?

@Ryan489x said:
DS is fine now, I don't know why people are still complaining about it
Because there's no limits to the complaining and asking for survivor nerfs. Nerf everything else, and they will complain about This is Not Happening.
Deadhard is one of the few perks you can use to counter broken unfixed stuff: Nurse, Blight.
After they do what they're supposed to and Nurse/Blight actually take some skill to play, I don't care what happens to deadhard, I'm not the biggest fan of it either, though I do think it's necessary.
Until all of that is fixed, Deadhard stays as it is, thank you.
-
Did they get their qualifications from Wish? lol
-
Premonition has been around for a long time. In fact that’s the perk I used at the beginning of the game when I started playing. I actually think it was a good perk, at the time. However times have changed, and I think the perk needs some minor buffs to fit into the current meta. Maybe reveal the killer’s aura for 2 seconds or so when it goes off, since it has a cooldown anyway.
-
Dbd was actually very fun back then. Not because of the infinites, but because everyone was new and naive. I even remember being scared the first times I played the game, crouching while some Trapper ( absolutely noob like me) patrolled the map. Good times.

See? It wasn't so hard to admit your mistake.
As for Self-Care being better than CoH, yeah no.
A good CoH placement will always be better than Self-Care
Not for me, no. I have to carry the randoms most of the time, and if I bring CoH, I simply don't have the time to setup the boon, heal and go unhook. Self Care is just so much better. If I'm in a group with competent people, then sure.

I'm sorry, but you apparently have a problem remembering what you said a couple moments ago so:
give you the ability to self care at the exact same speed of self care
You said it give you the ability to heal yourself at the EXACT same speed as Self-Care, which is wrong.
Here's the definition of exact:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ABM0BIRK06L8/screenshot-20220516-203835.jpg
CoH doesn't heal you precisely as fast as Self-Care, it heals you faster.
Please, I beg you, learn what you're talking about... before talking about it, unless you want to be ignored by pretty much everyone that wants to have a serious discussion, like a Sluzzy knock-off
Ah I see, I was completely confused about what your reply was to me, but apparently I did say "give you the ability to self care at the exact same speed of self care", and that's not what I wanted to say, my point was: I prefer self care, because considering all the setup, it's pretty much the exact same speed or even faster compared to CoH. So yes, that one thing is wrong.
Again, my point stands, that I personally find CoH is garbage outside a coordinated group and I very much prefer Self Care (better in dire situations and overall)

... the math is up there. If you don't like numbers, don't start talking about numbers?
If you really want to add the time it takes to, it's probably 5-10 seconds if you know Totem spawns, so setting it up is a net loss on Self-Care, the actual heal (the point of the Perk) is a huge gain
I'm just asking because, I was talking about in my post about time it takes to find + time to bless + healing.
And your reply to that was:

Your math is off, CoH takes 21.3 seconds, not 32 like Self-Care.
Please continue using Self-Care, I love free slowdown
So, you pretty much replied to something you made up? I wasn't talking about time it takes healing once it's all set up, I'm talking about the whole thing from scratch versus Self Care.
So, again, you just decided to reply to something you made up?

@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Yes, your math is off. Healing with CoH takes 21.3 seconds.
Blessing takes 14, and getting to the Totem after getting hit takes about 2-4 seconds, so it's better than Self-Care, as it takes around 24.3 seconds, if you know how to place it properly that is, which based on your posts, I doubt
So you take 21 seconds to find a totem, bless it, and fully heal. Can I see a clip of this?

No, the knowledge comes from a general consensus of people who both play and analyze this game, in public, for a living. You can be as snarky as you like, that doesn't change the fact that you are placing your own subjective (and extremely biased) opinion over this.
It's the 'Flat Earther' syndrome at it's finest.
Again, I don't care about how many hours you have played - because:
A. For all I know, 4,500 of those hours were spent staring at the main menu screen, or alt-tabbed out watching Avril Lavigne videos.
B. Your opinion both contradicts common sense and the opinion of other, more experienced players who play this game at a semi-professional level and
C. Your argument amounts to 'this things I believe, trust me, I play this game for long time, ignore other people who play it for longer and probably have more robust, more balanced take'.
Yeah, no.
Well, since you gave up on your own judgement, because you don't think your own experience is valid enough (you say you have barely 1k) next time just quote the person you're talking in the name of, I guess. I will then respond to what -they- have to say.
I do care about how many hours I have played, and no, I don't spend thousand of hours looking at the menu. You can actually check if someone AFK farmed hours, just introducing their profile in some of the DBD stats tracker. Many hours, with progress that doesn't match, probably afk yeah. Many hours with matching stats, there you have it.
You're trying really hard to deflect -facts- while simultaneously using "she said he said" as science. It just doesn't make you look good. Also, the fact you hide your profile is telling.
But there is one thing I am tired about. I am tired about people who don't play, or didn't play even half of what I did, trying to tell me how X or Y works. I will take advice or listen to people who prove they know how things work. Otherwise, play more and then come back to me.

Fortunately, reality is not dependent on your belief.
I'm not going to give you additional access to my personal details and spaces, and you asking for this is honestly pretty sus.
When the overwhelming consensus among people who play this game for a living is the complete opposite of what you are asserting, Ockham's Razor dictates that you are probably wrong. Even myself as a lowly 1k-ish hour player can tell you, mechanically, why CoH isn't 'garbage'.
So the knowledge doesn't come from you, comes from Mommy. In this case Mommy being a "very good" streamer who "plays this for a living". Is there an official entity that gathered and released all this information? Example, "All these Mommies and Daddies, universally take THIS stance on this issue" Source?

Hahaha, no. Why would I give you the chance to take a widdle against my Steam wall? And...what do you think that would show you, anyway?
You saying that 'CoH is garbage' is contradicting some of the best, most prolific players in the world, who still rate it as one of the most powerful survivor perks in the game. Now - yes - this is partially an AFA, but my point stands.
I don't need to quote anybody else, when I am my own best judge, for my experience as solo survivor in what I can assume is high mmr after roughly 5k hours. The "mommy says..." argument is not necessarily something I need.
Well, I like facts presented. When I talk to someone who tries to lecture others on this and that, and seems to think they're some sort of authority "I declare this is X, this is Y", "Mommy says this is X, Y, Z", I wonder, okay this person must have A LOT of experience. That's why I asked for a bit of proof.
You don't seem to be willing to present any, I must assume because it's not going to make you look good. That's fine, I already told you how I view it.

...
You know, you claim to have played this game for a long time, but you just completely missed the point of CoH, and why this perk is so damn strong.
- It gives self care to the entire team, for the price of one slot.
- Even post nerf, when combined with a decent medkit, it can allow you to heal ridiculously fast as a duo. I'd have to dig up the video, but there's one of Otz and his mate healing *mid chase*.
- When sited correctly (RPD library, IWOM tower, Eyrie second floor etc.) it can cover most of the map and be such a huge time commitment to snuff that you come out ahead of the game. Remember, 14 seconds for one survivor is basically equivalent to 14x4 seconds for the killer.
- It's extremely good in solo queue.
- You generally don't see multiple CoH's in SWFs - one is more than sufficient.
I'm not sure what MMR you are playing at, but I see it in maybe 50% of my games as killer, and I generally don't bring it myself as survivor - because there's a better than even chance that someone else will. I always ask in pregame (ditto Kindred).
You know, I think we should play SWF together. You seem to live in a wonderful alternative reality, and I think your reality is better than mine. If you assume my MMR is ridiculously low and that's why I get potatoes, let me just agree with you, with the exception that every single killer I get is a sweatlord with around 4-6k hours. It must be me that, somehow my MMR gets me survivor potatoes with sweatlord killers.
CoH is good in a team that knows how to make use of it. Otherwise , it is garbage .

Guarantees a win? No, don't put words in my mouth.
But sure. CoH immediately comes to mind.
You can nerf Nurse and Blight, but that's a separate issue. This game isn't balanced around Nurse and Blight, and even at higher MMRs, you aren't literally seeing only these two killers. DH on the other hand is omnipresent from intermediate MMR to the highest MMR.
Yes, SWF is a problem and adding it made balancing far more difficult, but you aren't going to get rid of SWF, so we need to live with it.
You don't need to be in the top 1% of players for SWF to be a problem. BHVR have stated before that - even looking at the game as a whole - SWF makes a huge difference in escape rates, and I can attest that when I play killers, even a group of intermediate survivors are much scarier in a SWF than they would be alone.
Ah yes, CoH. That perk that takes 14 seconds to bless a totem, once you do find one, to then give you the ability to self care at the exact same speed of self care (only that self care has no pre-requisites) unless it's snuffed of course. That one perk that will be absolutely worthless in actual dire situations (2 people dead, 1 on hook, you're injured and need to heal, good luck finding a totem, blessing it, by the time it's blessed the person is already dead and obviously, the killer will have already found you) that totem that only truly shines now when multiple versions of them are being used by coordinated teams. Oh, right, SWF they call it.
Damn, it all seems to go back to SWF. Yes, yes, very overpowered perk indeed. I see it in my solo queue plays, maybe once every 20 matches. If that's the overpowered perk I can count on, I better only count on Deadhard then and keep my Self Care.

As the late, great Terry Pratchett once said 'my bum has been a bum for a very long time, but that doesn't mean anything it says is worth listening to' :).
Unless were talking about something very specific, the persuasiveness of your opinion as opposed to mine is not influenced in the slightest by our relative hours played.
But sure, that's an easy question to answer.
SBMM was designed to help this, and from my own experiences - it has. It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than it was.
In terms of the future - BHVR are adding pretty comprehensive status icons to survivors, which will let solos know who's being chased, who's working on gens, who's going to unhook, if the person on the hook is being camped etc.
Alright, so the answer is, as I indicated, nothing.
The future is the future, and remains to be seen. My hopes and trust in this studio is 0.

- Nurse - About time she has any downside
- Blight - Mostly the exploits

At the absolute highest MMRs, or tournaments, a kitted out Nurse comes out about even with a kitted out SWF.
She's also the only killer that can really do this.
If DH is nerfed, Nurse will likely need to see a few addon tweaks...and maybe Blight's too. That's about it. But let's nerf DH and see how things look when the dust settles, because this game isn't balanced around the absolute highest MMR and the best killers - and DH utterly destroys a bunch of weaker killers (Trapper immediately comes to mind).
Can you mention those "very overpowered perks that make the rest pale in comparison" putting aside Deadhard, that you very evidently seem to think guarantees a win when you slot it?
But here's how your bias comes in strong. It can also be done the other way around. Let's finally fix Nurse and Blight, and once the dust settles we can look at Deadhard and ask, is this perk necessary anymore? What's the state of solo queue? Are we doing anything to make it a fair experience after 6 years? And now, how is killer looking?
There is only 1 huge universal issue: Survive With Friends. It tips the balance out of control for everyone, it makes certain killers hard to play, and it makes certain playstyles mandatory. But then let's apply that to the whole playerbase.
You are punishing 99% of players for what a 1% can achieve (very sweaty tryhard 4 man premade) thus making it a miserable experience for 99% of the players of your game.
-
Let me fix it for you:
Does Behaviour regret making very specific SWF groups the power role?
Maybe what you wanted when you bought this game is watching a cutscene, not play a competitive game?
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2953624#Comment_2953624
Well, sure. And that's the Pandora's Box that BHVR opened when they added SWF. The game now has to be balanced around SWF, which sort of messes over solos. Otherwise, you're messing over killers. There are three sides here, and one is going to suffer.
Which is why BHVR are adding some changes to help out solos, while also buffing killers.
And yes, I get that you don't care about killer players and that your interest is entirely selfish here. But the game cannot be balanced around your desire to rock killers with ease in solo queue. This game also has to be balanced in a manner that allows killers a reasonable chance to win - and as long as SWF exists - it has to be a factor in this balancing equation.
I probably started playing killer before you. So spare me the lecture. And I probably have a lot more hours than you do, because I do have too many. So I do care about killers, because I play killer. It is universally known solo queue is the butt of the joke every time and it's always killers vs SWF.
But tell me, what is Behaviour adding (and when, it's been years) to help me out in my solo queue matches?
You have 2 choices to pick from : Nothing or Nothing.
What one is it?
-
Of course she needs a nerf, and it should primarily come to her having an actual punishment for her powers. An exhaustion of 1 second whether she's successful or not, whether she missed or not, in exchange for all the broken things she has to her is by far not enough. If you want to have a powerful killer, you need to give her much harsher conditions to work with. You can't have both broken and easy, because might as well play against bots if all you want is a match against yourself.
-

Hahaha what?
There are maybe...two killers that are overpowered - and even then, at the tourney level, they come out at about even with the stronger SWF teams.
The rest range from 'good' to 'terrible'.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2953605#Comment_2953605
Well, duh. They've now succeeded in their goal of removing someone early.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2953601#Comment_2953601
It's always been this way because...that's how this game is played at higher levels, and this trickles down to everyone else. Ie. the meta.
Against a good SWF, if you don't get someone out by the time 3 gens are done, you've probably lost. Again - go watch some tournaments or higher MMR streams.
It's not the killer's responsibility to distribute damage across the team. It's your responsibility to play cautiously, and your allies' responsibility to protect you.
I simply don't care about all of this. I buy a game, I wanna play a game, if I require to have 3 other sweaty friends to be able to play a match, it should advertise it on the cover (not recommended for solo players). You either make it group based only, or you give me the tools to have a chance against being camped or tunnelled. Otherwise I'm not playing the game. So as long as I have the tools to counter being camped or tunnelled, through perks or base mechanics, and my solo queue is (though hard) playable, I can be fine with it. Make Dead by Daylight SWF only, and you will only play against SWF.

Except that, again, this is nothing but whataboutism.
We can talk about the other things that probably need a tweak - but jumping into every discussion of one thing and going 'oh but what about that other thing' is pointless.
Dead Hard is just a problem ability that never should have stayed the way it is. The fact that you see it on literally every survivor you face after a certain point definitely indicates that it's too strong.
You seem to think you talk from objectivity (you don't, you are extremely biased) and that we have to make the thread about what -you- personally think it should be. Again, I don't see it the same way it you do. We can talk exclusively about Deadhard and whether or not it needs to change (it doesn't), because it is currently one of the only few counters to ridiculously broken and uncounterable mechanics (Omegablink Nurse, exploit Blights) and it's the only perk making solo queue playable in high mmr when you face those situations.
Deadhard isn't any problem, and it is in fact a (possibly bad, but that's all we have) band-aid we need to make those matches playable. Just like DS is one of the few things we have against constant tunnelling and camping in solo queue. I'm not going to play a game just to be an excuse for you to feel like you can play, if I'm not guaranteed to have a chance to play the game.
The fact you see it on every survivor isn't because it's broken, but because the alternatives are too weak. Big difference.

What? No. That's silly and basically just whataboutism.
DH isn't just a problem because it's overpowered - it's a problem because this one ability dictates the meta at higher MMRs and it's just not healthy for the game as whole.

There's so many unhealthy things that shouldn't be in the game, but they are. You want to make it all about Deadhard because it's the one thing bothering you particularly. It's not the one thing that bothers me in particular, so you cry about that one, and I'll cry about different ones.

Sprint burst has been in the game since launch. Hardly anyone cares about it. This fragile, cherry picked argument is just a deflection because DH is almost everything you just mentioned.
But it's not. It's clearly a you problem, game has been like this since launch and killer rates have always been sky high, the issue isn't that it's broken or overpowered, the issue is you want your matches even easier, being able to finally be an omegablink Nurse without a single counter.

It, it, it, it, it, it, it, it it
Then, I want Sydney Prescott included.
Then, Babadook,
And: The Exorcist

Literally nothing about sprint burst is even remotely as stupid as DH LMFAO.
Just give it time. Suddenly, a lot of people will find Sprint Burst "uncounterable", "game breaking", "ruins my experience", "it has made killer unplayable".

My esteemed comembers of the community and No Mither
What do you think of this incarnation of the perk:
~
Description: “You can shake off even the roughest punishment when you’re pushed.”
Begin the trial injured and Broken for 90/60/30 seconds.
While Broken, gain the ability to revive self from the Dying state and gain Endurance for 16 seconds.
Escaping and Surviving the trial grants all other survivors +100% Bloodpoints.
Once restored to full health, this perk activates:
Taking a protection hit while Healthy causes you to become Broken for 30 seconds.
Upon recovering from the Broken status, this perk deactivates.
Flavor-text: “’He lamped me good before I could do so much as stand. Didn’t let up neither. Just kept throwin’ himself at me ‘til I was on the ground. Didn’t expect me to get back up so fast, lost him some good teeth for the trouble.’ – David King”
~
Once you are healed, the next time you are Broken, you gain Endurance.
You basically get Borrowed Time+ If you take a protection hit.
The tradeoff is that you start injured and the killer knows what you're up to.
You give your allies a bunch of BP if you make it out alive, though.
By causing survivors to spawn into the match injured and unable to heal - and punishing them with prolonged injury and less pressure upon taking protection hits, this perk retains its ‘Challenge Mode’ doctrine and promotes extremely dangerous and foolhardy behavior to those who take it. Keeping in the spirit of David’s defensive and patently dangerous take on altruism allows this perk to generate high stock for survivors that are able to work around it. By granting Endurance in particular circumstances, killers will be encouraged to tunnel the No Mither user to remove the threat of the perk from the game - but will find them difficult to hold down when used in conjunction with certain killer interactions as well as synergies with other survivor perks. While there is potential to force powerful situations, this perk has the potential to backfire horribly, which also makes it less attractive for certain team types. Granting bonus bloodpoints to allies allows it not only to act as a consolidation ‘Sorry I spawned injured and possibly screwed everything up’, but it’s also a great incentive for good-willed players to bring the perk into the trial.
Thoughts?
I do like the idea. the numbers could be adjusted, but I like that other people win if they help you make it, it's a good idea in a world of selfish randoms.

I was a killer main, and now play more survivor and consider myself an expert looper now.
DH is by far the best second chance perk in the game. SB is less troublesome as it can't be saved in the same way for those end game situations.
No, you shouldn't DH for distance. DH still probably would be popular even if you didn't gain distance on the killer.
I have no problems with solo queue either. Yes, many teams are awful. I do my own thing and just have fun. It's still a tough slog for any new killers and I often feel real bad at the end of the game when I see my randos tbagging. Stop thinking about the killer mains in the forum and think about the "average" player.
That's amazing. An expert looper, who also breezes through solo queue. Is there any way I can watch you play? videos of your matches, streams...

Look, another facecamping with 5 gens left NOED Trapper.
Don't forget your frosty eyes skin.

Probably a bug

Let me guess. You were not around, back when Undying was released. First page of the forum was full of "nerf Undying" threads.
Don't worry, I'm sure the next update will bring something that both sides can complain about.
As a matter of fact, I was.
Of course it will bring something both sides will complain about. Survivors will complain about that new thing, and for killers it wil just be another day of complaining in general.

I'm saying wiggling off on your own (Boil Over) or with the help of a single teammate is unfair, due to theassive time the Killer already sank.
Well but, if I manage to prevent a hook because I'm good at it, and you're not good enough to just, hit me and hook/change directions in time, it's a you problem.
You really want the game to hand hold you at every step of the way and automatically do things for you. That's not a game, it's called a cutscene.

This forum is full of campers, tunnelers and noed killers. What do you expect?
This has a very easy explanation. This forum -does- have a majority of entitled killer mains, and the reason is, the moment the match doesn't go their way, they immediately rush to the forums to complain about it. It doesn't matter the circumstances, the situation, the cause of it. They will find an excuse as to why they lost (it's never them) . Of course there's entitled survivors here complaining as well, but comparatively speaking you can just see the disproportionately higher number of killer players that do this.
I see a lot of survivors (myself included) complaining about the general state of solo queue for example. Not survivor in general. Even when there's valid reasons for it.
On the other hand, you see killers whining about everything. The maps, the perks, the skins, the colors, teabagging, bodyblocking, rainbow maps (yes, they complain even about rainbow maps), keys, medkits, toolboxes, gens speed, windows, tiles.
It's just an endless list of complaints one after another to avoid the number 1 reason you're not winning your games as often as you'd like: You.

What's funny is, the devs comment on this. I dont remember who it was, but I remember they said something along the lines of "No Mither gives you the advantages of being injured in exchange of..."
When somebody says that, you already know they don't play the game.
Anyway, No Mither, to make it worth it, it would need a serious overhaul.
Example:
- 1. Make the next hit you take put you on Borrowed Time, not put you down.
- 2. Completely nulify sound, so you don't need to waste an obvious slot on Iron Will.
- 3. Make recovery/crawling faster by default.
- 4. No Blood stains.
It'd still be stronger to just not bring No Mither, but I think that'd actually make the perk circumstancially appealling.
-
But then they will ask for Sprint Burst to be nerfed too. Do you think there's a logic or limit to it?
