WGLF obviously but I don't expect to get full stacks, which also means I avoid doing stupid plays, farming teammates or camping unhooks hence not doing gens.
Medkit is good but there's some downsides relaying on it; you expose yourself to aura reading perks and you lose your decisive strike (if you use it) when healing yourself. I've noticed in my ~2500 hours of playing survivor that Inner Strength is a lot safer way to heal yourself especially if you play solo. It encourages you to avoid NOED and you get an 8 seconds heal when you need it without losing your decisive (and you get the 300 survival points with it). When I really need to perform well or escape I use medkit in addition; that way I'm not dependant of others as a solo survivor.
So my suggestion is WGLF and Inner strength with two perks which best supports your playstyle. Prove thyself, BT or exhaustion perks are safe bets of course.

Usually people over exaggerate the amount of camping and tunneling they encounter, but right now I actually agree. Nothing but sweaty Nurses and camping Deathslingers. For now if the killer is Nurse I will just run to her and kill myself on hook.
-
I had over four months break from the game and naturally I was reset to rank 20 with both roles so I started to collect stats to see how matches, perks, survival rate, kill rate etc. change within ranks.
In about a month and a half I've played 258 solo survivor matches and 24 killer matches for now. I thought I'd make a post about my solo survivor stats when I reach 300 matches.

Hey @GoodBoyKaru you wouldn't happen to remember the Forum record for largest thread, would you?
I feel like we are closing in.
Also, how are your games on PC?
I found the last year thread about the console optimization from my comments:
It was 34 pages and I don't remember ever seeing a bigger thread than these two. I think you've made a record thread!
-
1. I didn't play killer in about 8 months and was rank reset to rank 20
2. Ruin/PWYF/Corrupt/Brutal Strength
3. Hawkins offering
4. Baby lobby
Ez.

If the killer wants to slug for 4K, the killer has every right to slug for 4K. The killer has earned the 4K at that point and isn't BM in any way and definitely not comparable to teabagging at the exit gate.
It is a repercussion from the removal of the hatch spawning conditions.
A sweaty Nurse slugging all 4 survivors at 5 gens without any reason tho is wasting everyone's time.

Nemesis:
Corrupt

Eruption
Monitor & Abuse (idk if this is good on him)
I have a pretty good build, I guess
That sounds like an okay build! :)

I'm not sure yet.
BHVR really doesn't deserve money from ANYONE until they have acknowledged (console) optimization issues. Broken promises and disrespectful silence since 2019. No one should support such company.

I think we found the answer boys
That's actually very true! He has openly said in his stream that he thought Billy feathering his chainsaw and curving behind a corner was unfair. Billy's overheat exist solely because of him.
-
Because the developers don't give sh*t about console players.
Just watch how much they've done for console optimization.. NOT! They haven't even acknowledged any problems console have.
Console DBD is a cash grab for BHVR and now we exist just making PC player's queues shorter.
It's so nice to be an "appreciated" customer. :)
-
Shh...
Don't you know that it's forbidden in this community to think SWF needs tweaks?
-
I have never subscribed or donated to any streamer on twitch but I think next time tru3 is streaming, I'm gonna go and throw some euros his way.
This whole thing is so hypocritical and a great injustice.
-
First impressions from a solo survivor POV I think it's a fun and good perk. As a killer I haven't faced it yet, so I don't know if it's still annoying, especially as the Trapper or Hag.
It's definitely not as abusable, but SWF with OoO against trapping killers might still be quite broken, even though now it's more RNG dependant to see them place a trap.
There's been a few matches where the killers definitely didn't like that I had it. Against some players it's still a very good perk to get the attention to yourself if you're a good looper.
-
Killer would be much less stressful and more fun to play if you didn't have to micro-manage every single thing. DS nerf is the only change in DBD history that reduced the things killer has to keep track of.
You have to keep track on gens, pallet and loop rng, survivor movements, survivor health states, survivor perks, ESPECIALLY exhaustion and second chance perks, all while trying to keep a timer on your mind about how long it was since you checked certain gens or how long you've been chasing a survivor. On top of this console killers have to hope not to get screwed by aim dressing (the most ridiculous feature in this whole game) or FPS drops (shame on BHVR for not optimizing console).
On top of that you have to endure masses of BS in the form of BM, imaginary rules, harassment either in private messages or end game chat, getting shamed for using certain perks or certain killers etc. At worse four players coming down on one player.
I had a seven month break from playing killer and 4 months break from this whole game recently. I've played 160 survivor matches and only 8 killer matches since then. Naturally I was rank reset to rank 20 and of course the matches were easy since I'm able to hold my own in red ranks as an old Clown, but the matches were still mostly just annoying. Survivor as a solo survivor on the other hand has been a walk in the park for the most part and I've gotten back to rank 1-2 without any stress whatsoever.
-
Time to get someone from Twitter with a blue check mark to comment on the matter.
This is getting ridiculous, especially considering how much gaming has increased during the pandemic and how much Sony has emphasized keeping PS4 updated.
BHVR just got Capcom to do a chapter with them. Capcom actually appreciates console as a platform, given that they had extended period to play RE8 demo exclusively for PS4/PS5 players. BHVR should take some notes from Capcom about how to treat most of their player base.
-
Rank 1. A lot of Huntresses and Deathslingers.
-
I'm currently collecting stats from my matches (143 total currently) and my escape rate is 60 %. I only play solo survivor and I'm a console player with crossplay on.
-
Doctor - my first main, but abandoned him after the rework.
Demogorgon - I've played him quite a bit.
Nemesis - Probably suitable for me, we'll see.
Nightmare - Eww.
Plague - One of my two mains for over a year now.
I was surprised that Trapper was like 7th or 8th for me even tho he was my second main ever and is still my main with Plague today. I love him!
-
Two, a rank 1 who got 2k and a rank 5 who got 3k.

In most crossplay games, console playerbase is often the largest one.
But in DBD its probably not the case, otherwise they would optimize their game years ago.
But I would like to see numbers how many players are on PC in %
I'm betting PS player base is the largest one. DBD was free for PS plus members in August 2018. There was 34 million PS plus subscribers then, even if only one percent of them plays DBD weekly that's 340 000 PS players, which is almost 49 000 daily players. Add those who actually bought the game themselves and add XBOX and Switch players on top of that.
Console player base is a lot larger than PC player base. The devs have no excuse for why they haven't optimized the game for consoles and low-end PCs. They have the proof that tens of us have provided in videos and describing what actions and events trigger the problems in performance. It's about time that they ACTUALLY acknowledge it. Not like they did very vaguely in their Q&A in last September that didn't even answer to our concerns. And NOTHING has happened since then.
I'm fortunate enough to have gotten PS5 but I will still stand by my console comrades to the end.
-
The only change dead hard needs is:
"You cannot drop a pallet or vault a window or a pallet for 2 seconds after using dead hard."
Now survivors can't greed pallets they should have dropped or get extra loops when they failed to evaluate the distance between killer and them.
-
Myers getting tier 3 freezes the game on both roles.
Survivor doing 360 freezes the game when playing killer, add aim dressing and the bloodlust frame drop to that. Playing killer on console is so enjoyable, especially all the "master racers" pooptalking.
Plague's corrupt purge sometimes causes frame drops.
Edit: Also Franklin's demise.
-
I watched multiple streams yesterday (since I'm on console so no PTB for us, not even a proper optimization lol) and none of them said he is strong. Many thought the pallet breaking with his power is the best thing with him and many acknowledged that the zombies will get annoying really fast when going against him even if they aren't strong at all against good survivors. Many compared him to Demo, PH and Plague but just weaker version.
There are four vaccines in the map, one for each survivor, this means you need THREE hits with his POWER and you have to do this EIGHT TIMES! All you get for this ridiculous amount of extra work is the pallet breaking ability (which should be basekit anyway and available right away) and a laughably small increase to his tentacle range. Not only this, but like a comment above said his tier gain can be delayed significantly by letting the zombies infect you, that is just stupid! He moves at 115 % speed so he has no map pressure but the zombies which are partially RNG and do nothing against good survivors.
They made a too weak Nemesis, I'm so disappointed!
-
Every Nurse/Spirit/Deathslinger/Freddy player getting autobanned because salty 3/4-man SWF mass-reports them.
Hopefully they actually think this through!
-
Map: Mansion from RE1
Killer: Mr. X from RE2
Female Survivor: Claire from RE2/CVX
Male Survivor: I'm honestly having trouble deciding who to bet on. I'd personally hope for Barry or even Carlos but let's bet for Chris since he's the most represented character in the RE games.
Oh and if I lose I guess I'll play my 6th game of Freddy ever.
-
Wow so many necromancers here!
It's funny how people don't read the dates nowadays.
-
As survivor, I think I belong to rank 1 or 2. I'm usually the one carrying the team as a solo survivor. Sometimes I do stupid plays on purpose, either because it's fun at the moment or to test how experienced the killer is so I can improve my gameplay in that match.
As killer I think I belong to rank 4 but as a Trapper I think I'm a solid rank 2 or 3.
-
Meg and Jake are well done IMO but they ruined Dwight. :( I didn't notice any difference in Claudette so whatever.

wastedspent on this game. Cosmetics and charms to show off accomplishments would be really cool. It'd also be nice if we console players could see our stats.
PS5 added the hours played to games. If you can sign in on a friend's PS5 or get your own at some point you'll see just how much this game wasted your life. :)
I have almost a double the hours I thought I had. Sadly there's no other stats but trophy progression can now be seen in percentages.

Freddy was (and to some degree still is) the easiest killer to play and it was infuriating to lose to a bad killer who won the game with snare spamming and NOED. Still haven't played enough against nerfed Freddy to see if the changes actually did anything though.
Now the most hated for me is probably Legion, mainly because over half of the survivor population don't know how to play against them.
-
I'm glad that people are still persistent and have the energy to raise these issues again and again. Thank you @Pulsar.
I made a compilation about PS4 Pro FPS from my video captures before I moved to PS5 in December. These aren't even as bad as some of the other's videos.
https://youtu.be/32zguudarH8Just thought I'd share and support the thread.
And FYI, sloppy butcher STILL caused frame issues immediately after moving to PS5. Those PC lords that always blamed the console hardware can't really blame the hardware anymore after PS5/series X. What now, BHVR?
-
If he was implented with a rocket launcher it would have to be instadown. And it would have to be hard to land to make it balanced. So he would be ranged instadown killer. So even if he was made hard to play, bad survivors would just cry and cry until he gets nerfed. I don't think it would work.
I don't know why people think that nemesis should have the rocket launcher. In the original RE3 he had it only the first half of the game and in the remake only for one 5 minute section. Then he mutated to the tentacle Nemmy, so he didn't have the rocket launcher for the rest of the game. Tentacle Nemmy would honestly be much more cool and more easy balance while giving him more versatile power.
-
Every single one of them. I've also bought every licenced DLC from sale at 50 % price except Stranger Things and Ash. Silent Hill was free because I got PH and Cheryl with the free auric cells people got before Christmas. BHVR gets my money as little as possible until they start properly optimizing their game for console and start caring for solo survivors and killers.
-
Matchmaking was decent when rank reset was 10 ranks down. Now red ranks are flooded with bad survivors who belong in green/yellow ranks. The quality of solo survivor matches has sunk a lot because of that.
-
1) Between The Saw chapter and The Curtain Call chapter. It was March 2018 I believe.
2) My first survivor was Meg. Currently Jane, Jeff, Kate and Meg (all P-50 all perks).
3) First killer was Trapper, then old Doctor, then Hag. My latest main killers were Trapper and Plague, although I also played 9 other killers regularly before I stopped playing killer altogether.
-
I'd say Freddy but since his snare spamming is finally getting fixed, I will say Legion.

I have never experienced Queue Times like this as Survivor in Europe. And in the evening, I mostly play SWF with a friend of mine. Killer on the other hand I sometimes have Queue Times of 10+ minutes, depending on the time of the day.
But nice to hear that I am as good as Otz if I dont have to sweat that much while playing Killer. I knew at some point I will be good at some game at least!
(And honestly, the guys I get in my teams as Survivors, I cannot understand how ANY Killer can struggle against those people. Like, I was onehooked 3 times yesterday. And one time I was almost onehooked, but got saved by my friend - at this point, we had 3 Survivors on Death Hook with 0 Gens done against a Clown... Killer is really difficult /s)
Yes, in the morning and before 6 PM killer queues have occasionally been between 2 and 10 minutes and survivor queues are between 1 and 5 minutes. But after 6 PM it's instant lobbies for killer and survivor queues get very long. It also depends about what server you get connected to; London or Frankfurt. Frankfurt server gets much more players outside of Europe compared to London due to location.

I play from 6pm EST to 11pm EST. My wait times at purple and red rank survivor is usually like 2-3 minutes. Where are people that are getting these wait times? My killer wait time are usually 1-2 mins at the same time. The ONLY time I experience longer wait time (3-5 mins) is usually on Saturdays after like 9-10pm EST. It doesn't really fluctuate much if I am solo or playing with a friend or two. Maybe I am just lucky?
In Europe. Between 6 PM and 12 AM GMT even the solo queues are over 10 minutes. SWF can only dream about queues less than 20 minutes. Europe is known to be more sweaty anyway so playing killer against sweat teams almost every match gets tiresome unless of course you have Otz's level of skill. We also get mixed with Russian and Middle Eastern players. I can tell you those matches are almost never fun. I myself stopped playing killer about 5 or 6 months ago and then I stopped playing DBD altogether over 3 months ago. I'm just waiting the game to get better.

So we are almost at square 1 since most protagonists are in that game lol.
I think the quote is the hint towards Claire. I was just telling how the darkside chronicles crosses with cvx since the two chronicles games aren't that well known and honestly, not as good as the normal RE games.

Well this is a direct hint that Claire would be one of the survivors. But other characters of the DLC I'm guessing will be taken from other REs.

What game is this quote from?
Actually, that screenshot and quote is from game Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles from the part that takes place during Code Veronica X. Not from the CVX itself. The Darkside Chronicles includes events during RE2, RE: CVX and tells a backstory why Krauser turned out the way he did.

This is just a personal theory of mine, but I don't the think the trailer showed anything about the killer or survivor, just that the next chapter is going to be RE themed.
The person on the hook (To Me) just looks like a guy in a lab coat, which could represent an Umbrella scientist (There's Also The Fact he Dropped An Umbrella Pendant). And the "monster" noises are just generic zombie sounds. Again, I'm pretty sure it's just telling us the chapter will be RE themed, and not anything about who the characters will be.
I'm really holding out hope the killer is Jack.
True, it's very possible that the teaser didn't hint anything.
@QwQw said:

Because personally, I can't think of any RE survivors that look like the person on the hook, or why they would be carrying an Umbrella pendant around.
I'm guessing the pendant is just there to advertise the charm you get when buying the chapter. Maybe we'll also see it as a key item in RE8, who knows.

I bet it is, for one it is way to early to tease the RE chapter, hell it could be Jack Baker for all we know, and I think that man is Felix but you could be right
Yes it was Felix's hook scream in the teaser but the body might be the new survivor's. Probably because the voice acting might not be ready yet.
-
I'm also a Marquerite fan, she is an awesome character with excellent voice acting. She could also plant her hives throughout the map in strategic places.
Probably won't happen tho. :(

@Dabihwow said:

Which is what I mean they should contribute for both sides of fans, but I still want Jack Baker as his own individual killer tho.
Let's hope they make a versatile chapter. I'm guessing most fans would be satisfied to see Leon as a survivor so maybe they pick some non-classic characters too. In the teaser the clothing of the hooked survivor doesn't really fit any other character from RE than Leon or Ethan but that whole teaser might just be intentional misleading from BHVR.
-
I'll just copy my comment from another thread to this one:
"RE is one of my favorite franchises too and I've played every game expect outbreak and ORC with multiple platinum trophies. I'm really afraid that DBD will ruin the immersion of the killer character for me tho since some of the BHVR's balance desicions regarding killer power levels have been abysmal in the past few years.
They better make the killer A or S tier since I really don't want to see survivors BMing Nemesis or Jack Baker etc. They are bioweapons which require a [BAD WORD] rocket launcher to kill most of them!
I'm guessing they are doing what they did with the Silent Hill chapter; taking something from multiple games of the franchise.
From RE1 they could take the mansion as the map or Jill/Chris/Barry/Rebecca as the survivor. I personally hope they make a mansion map since it could be really creepy.
From RE2 they could take the RPD as the map, Leon/Claire/Marvin/Ada as the survivor or Mr. X/G Birkin as the killer.
From RE3 they could take the clock tower as a map (a second one I'd hope if they don't make the mansion map), Carlos as the survivor or Nemesis as the killer.
I think they will compile the chapter from these three games but if they pick something from the other games I'd guess Luis from RE4 or Sherry from RE6 as the survivor would be an interesting pick. As for the killer it could be Spencer from RE0, Nosferatu from RE: CVX or Jack or Marquerite Baker from RE7. Damn, if they'd pick Marquerite as the killer I would main her, she is so creepy and her voice acting is awesome.
My main hope is that they make the chapter well, the killer strong enough and don't F up the survivor models or legendary skins as they did with Cybil Bennet for Cheryl."
In addition it occurred to me that it would be quite a twist to get Wesker as a SURVIVOR instead of killer. Since he is quite a douche it would be justice to see him get impaled by rusty meat hooks over and over again. There's so much for BHVR to choose from, only factor limiting them is how much they want to pay for each character license, so I'm not expecting any characher more than the other.
-

I remember that in one of his streams the balance team dev told how unfair he felt that old Billy could feather with his chainsaw and then curve behind a corner to down a survivor. In those situations only problem was the old charge addons but otherwise it was one of the few techniques Billy could use in a loop to down a survivor with his power. It required skill from both the killer and the survivor and bad survivors deserved to be downed like that by old basekit Billy.
Everyone can make their own conclusions but I personally think this kind of development is quite concerning. The lack of variation in killers at high ranks is disappointing and nerfing balanced killers and releasing extremely weak ones is only going to make DBD even more repetitive and boring at high ranks/skill level than it is now.
Billy was one of my favourite killers to go against and now you barely see him (excluding the previous tome of course) at high ranks.
