FarmerJohn.
The most fun and entertaining dbd streamer I've encountered. Memes all stream and very good both as a killer and survivor.
-
Old Doc. I miss him.
New Doc is so much easier and thus, boring to play. So I returned to main Trapper.

I play on Console and I am choosing to not play crossplay until Console is equal to PC. As it stands, by playing Killer on Console, I am at an inherent disadvantage.
I caved and enabled crossplay occasionally even before PS5, mainly because then there was less survivors that spin and also less SWF's. Now that I'm PS5 you can tell the FPS difference immediately compared to PS4 and it's night and day.
One very discernible example is that now I can actually avoid a pallet stun as Trapper by starting the bear trap animation instead of freezing. Also no problems with the deas hard. One thing that is still there sometimes is FPS drops when you get injured as a survivor and the killer has sloppy.
-
Reddit is gold.
-
The fact that the game is unbalanced against 3/4-man SWFs and you can't play a killer you want unless you don't mind losing every game. Trapper and Plague are my mains and my favourites but I can't play them after 6 PM because of above mentioned reasons. Horrible map design and killer bugs make playing killer even more unbearable.

This sounds stupid but I would say clown is kinda cause his gameplay is so boring just throw bottle at loop they drop pallet early rinse and repeat.
Up to a certain point yes but the Clown will eventually run out of bottles and has to reload or be an m1 killer and there's a possibility to mindgames with him too. Clown also has meme value and has the most fun killer sounds.

1. Legion
2. Freddy
3. Deathslinger
4. Pyramid Head
Other killers are fine/fun to verse.

if im not mistaken you telling me im the problem? the guy who is doing atleast 2-3 gens every match. runs the killer atleast for 2-3 minutes every match. but the guy who is just stting somehwere in the corner is the hero? oh lord. i wont even bother to start a discussion with you. you're right mate.
My comment wasn't for you, it was for the forum member I quoted, obviously. That forum member trash talks console players at every possible opportunity and has said in the past that console players are vegetables, for example.
You didn't say anywhere in your post that your problem is specifically with console players and didn't talk condescendingly about anyone so I have no problem with you.
Hopefully they fix the matchmaking so boosted players, both killers and survivors, goes to the rank they belong.

”CP” is uh, an interesting choice to use
but yea, during the day when queues are fine I keep it off and don’t even bother playing survivor at night, yet alone as a Solo, the game is so unbearable without a friend and/or with console players
It's funny how before crossplay my ps4 red rank lobbies had a potato maybe every few days. So are you claiming all the potato survivors come from xbox or switch, two of the smallest player bases of the game?
It's funny how Otzdarva's matches were full of potatoes/paid actors even before crossplay. All on PC "master race".
It's funny how you blame only console players for your success when the problem very likely is you yourself.
Maybe it's time for you to find what you are doing wrong yourself and get better at the game instead of blaming others without any kind proof.

I'm at the stage where if I see someone put down offering for the map I will leave before the match starts.
If I get it naturally I just go into basement face a wall and get something to eat.
Not dealing with that map until it's fixed
Watch out that you don't get warned of unsportmanlike conduct.
You have to be on your toes these days in these forums...
-
Since Desperate Measures I've run it + Self-Care + Botany occasionally when I get bored of my main build with Inner Strenght. Self-Care without anything to boost it is quite bad.
-
I would not. Most players are childish enough with the messages and friend request messages, we don't need any more ways for salty/toxic players to say stupid stuff.

I HATE auto aim/dressing with a passion on ps4, the worst thing about is there is zero point in having it in the game at all. To make hits look like they hit!?, it does the total opposite
Yeah, and ps4 is full of talentless survivors with no looping skills who are red ranks only because they know how to scum the aim dressing. That's why I only play Spirit when the crossplay is off, since they can't 360 a phasing Spirit.
-
A rework definitely.
He is annoying and boring to play as and go against.
He is also a nightmare in solo que because even above average survivors don't know how to play against him. If I see even one survivor healing without a medkit at an inappropriate time I'm killing myself on hook. Majority of survivors also don't realise that YOU DON'T NEED TO MEND RIGHT AWAY! There's 30 seconds of time to do something productive before that while he doesn't get your location through frenzy.
I hate Legion.
-
Wrong thread.
-
One evening this week I was watching twitch and noticed a fog whisperer online. Got the charm after 3 minutes. Choose a fog whisperer who hides the two last digits if you're on console.
-
If I get earlier encountered toxic survivors (bully attempts, holding the game hostage etc. in the past) you bet your ass I'm going to equip ebony mori with best addons and tunnel off first hook. If the lobby has a key, I use ivory mori, not necessarily tunneling after first hook though depending on how the match is going. If I have a daily I use a cypress or devour hope.
In other words, there's situations when tunnel mori off hook is an appropriate play and there's situations where it's not.
-
It's a known bug that the Trapper cannot put traps close to exit gates in the new MacMillan maps. If it was some other map, please make a bug report.
-
Yes they fixed the overall fps problems. However, the frames still drop when someone opens a chest, cleanses a totem etc. during a match. But the game is playable and I can start doing killer challenges.
-
The win/loss ratio overall is in a good place and is between 50-70 %.
The red rank statistics though are completely misleading. They only take into account the KILLER'S rank which means that there's a lot of lower rank survivors boosting the kill rates. They should not be used make any kind of claims about the balance.
In his latest stream McLean confirmed that the preferred kill rate is somewhere between 50-75 % and he also told that the red rank statistics only considers the killer's rank.
So please, everyone stop with this nonsense. If BHVR released actual red rank stats where 3 out of 4 survivors and the killer were red ranks, we would see more truthful numbers which could actually be used as a talking point.

Nvm, I found it. It isn't even available in my region. If it was and I was lucky enough to get the auric cell prize I would probably slowly transition to PC since my bf has build a proper gaming PC.
Otherwise I wouldn't even think about it considering the time I have dedicated to the ps4 version. And since I've bought every original dlc character with shards and have now half the killers P3-50 all perks and 4 survivors P3-50 all perks I won't go through the grind again and I certainly wouldn't buy every original DLC with money.

they said "later this week" - usually updates from bhvr come either on tuesday or thursday, so there you go.
however, it will just be a tentative fix, so we don't know if the problem will actually be solved or it will just be a small band aid.

Ok, that's good to know. Weird that they haven't put the info on the top of the forum page. I really hope it fixes most issues but even a band aid fix is welcome at this point.
-
They might do something for his addons, but don't expect them to remove the mori addons completely since there's a trophy/achievement to mori all survivors with his tier 3. Especially since changing trophy conditions is very, very hard to get through unless they are impossible to get. That's why we have so "reasonable" adept killer trophies/achievements.
-
Stutters, FPS drops, aim dressing, random debri to get stuck on, free iron will for survivors, no footstep sounds, silent slugs and other sound bugs. In addition killer power specific bugs. Soon all of these have been in the game for a year.
So no, no one is losing it. Killer is unbearable and it's frustrating even when you win. Even crossplay didn't fix evening and night survivor wait times, except when there's new content. There's not enough killers.
Now ps4 version of the game is broken even for survivors and the latest Q&A showed (again) just how little (at least one of) the devs understand about balance of this game or cares about the killer experience.
-
It's a bug, has been acknowledged and will be fixed.
When is the real question.
-
I agree. Last year we could buy 2018 Halloween skins with the serum, so why can't we buy last year's and 2018 skins with 9000 shards this year? Sometimes I don't understand the devs thought process.
-
I played vs rank 1 PC spirit yesterday and it was so easy to juke and know when to vault etc. She had hard time catching me and ignored me half of the game. We almost won (last gen was at 90%) but because my teammates were purple ranks she got them easily.
I'm not an incredible survivor but I'm good enough and reach rank 1 as solo every month, so what I'm trying to say is if everyone in that match was as good as I we would have crushed a rank 1 spirit super easily and it shouldn't be that easy against any killer. Fortunately that bug was listed as an issue in McLean's stream so it will get fixed.
-
Summer BBQ for me too. It was my first event I played in this game and none after have been in its level.
-
Compared to yesterday the game has been at least playable today. Not good performance by any means but at least you can run now as survivor.
Swamp and new MacMillan are the worst map wise. Tested Plague and Blight in KYF and it was HORRIBLE.

anyway, if you were contacted by the "support team" (as in: you opened a ticket), it really doesn't mean too much. They "contacted me" as well after the last patch, when I pointed out that the game needed to be restarted after a while to maintain decent fps, and now we have patch 4.3.0, so...
McLean's stream is better info though.
I didn't do a support ticket. I got a private forum message from a dev and they wanted my ID so that they can investigate and fix the issue.

@Stinde I think I speak for all us PlayStation 4 players, thank you for your effort on this.
Well, I've just shared the information I know. Apparently my and other videos were so horrendous that they had to take action. That's all I did so I don't know if it's a lot of effort but no problem. :)
Thanks to us all who have reported issues and posted videos. Let's hope we get a fix fast this time.
*fingers crossed*
-
I got contacted 15 hours ago and they are investigating and working on a fix. The ps4 problems were also acknowledged in McLean's stream yesterday.
That's all I know and I'm guessing once they get a hotfix they will extend the event to compensate.
Personally I hope that they also compensate ps4 players with some extra BPs.
-
Update:
I got contacted about the issue, so at least the devs know and are taking steps to fix the problems. Credit where it's due.

You haven't? It was a while back. If I recall (I'd have to hunt for that thread - it may even be a Discord discussion).
I still have the one where the devs admitted they had quietly removed killer matchmaking protections somewhere - because it was my thread.

It might be that i just forgot that.
Me and my friends only play in high rank and i play killer in those ranks aswell so i wouldn't be effected by this at all.
The information where they told that the current system (the new MMR was then just released) pairs SWFs based on the average skill can be found below. However, they apparently kept this in place when the new MMR was deactivated instead of changing it back to being based on SWFs highest rank. So now we have a system that pairs them based on average rank, which is unfair to killers.
@PatBrutal said:
We've selected a few questions from the community about the new matchmaking system and had them answered by the team.
- I know you’re looking at skill across different killers but are you looking at skill across different survivors too? even though survivors are just skins, we still have to grind for open perk slots which, for a less experienced survivor like myself, that’s a big deal
Generally speaking, the performance difference between a low level survivor (as in, the character level is low) and a high level survivor for a given player isn’t statistically extreme. It also changes very quickly, relatively speaking: It doesn’t take that many games for a low level survivor to get to a reasonable level. To complicate it further, it can even happen over “0” games, if you got the BP from some other means! All that said, we’re going to keep an eye on this and see if it plays out differently in reality, and potentially modify the system to take this into account.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/150WZBYV10VT/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- Can we get a little insight into how SWF matchups will be balanced in the new system?
Currently, SWF groups will calculate an average rating of the players in the group, and then the matchmaking system will attempt to find an opponent based off that average. We will be monitoring this and the results it gives in the real world, and may tweak the formula to produce better results if we identify any problems.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/07DXKY7XE8V0/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- How is it gonna be fair to those that are new as a survivor? I feel bad for them
We’re specifically monitoring the experience of new players to ensure the system doesn’t immediately throw them games where they are hopelessly outmatched, and we have a few techniques that we’re implementing already to help with this. Lots of technical / mathematic details, but the basic effect will be that new players tend to get matched at a lower skill rating while they’re still new.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TGFAZUA81XL9/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- So after reading this post why aren't the current ranks not weighted in the starting skill rating for the player base?
We’ve already been running the skill rating calculation in the background for several months, in order to collect data and to validate some elements of our approach. Anyone who has been playing regularly in that time will already have a loosely calibrated skill rating to start with, which will be refined with each game they play now that the system is live.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FNM6B04UNAD6/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- Is it taken into consideration if players have returned from the game after a long hiatus. Some examples are some people returning after a year or even two.
Without getting into extreme mathimatical details: Yes, the system does take how long it has been since you last played into account with the rating system.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OQ1TAUEV9UFQ/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- Why are ranks so mismatched now?
The Matchmaking News post we made went into detail about this, but to summarize: Ranks are mostly a measure of how much you play in a given month, and doesn’t have a very good correlation with game skill. Skill rating is completely driven by how skilled you are at the game, so there will be some divergence between the two. The rank system will be getting updated Soon(tm) to reflect this difference.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/20LI55NFCJ4C/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- Why are we keeping the skill rating hidden?
For every player who gets really excited at the prospect of seeing their skill rating, there is another player who dreads it. For now, to encourage everyone to play the game the best they can, we are keeping the skill rating hidden. We have plans to expose it somewhat in the future, but nothing to announce at this time.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/01VR4OI1EPR4/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- What will it mean to Ranks in the Tally Screen?
Right now, the Emblem system / Rank system is being left as-is. We wanted to get the skill rating system out and in player’s hands as quickly as possible. The rank system will be getting updated Soon(tm).
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A1KXBT9T9HR6/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- Is the rating started counting now, or already set from past performance?
Ratings are initially based on your performance over the last few months, while the system has been collecting data in the background.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5HFZKHX7LQ75/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
- What are the factors that affect the ratings?
Ratings change based on how you perform in a match while taking your opponents rating into account. If you outplay an opponent who has a much higher rating than yours, then your rating will be adjusted quite a bit. If you outplay an opponent who had a lower rating than yours, then the adjustment is quite small.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V7FFIZ2GXWC6/patchnotesdividersmolwhite.png
Other
- Does this mean that those with different NAT types that weren't able to play together before (unless they had a connection with the lobby leader) can now play together?
The skill rating has not direct relation to NAT and network connectivity, as it is used to determine who matches together. As long as your NAT type allows you to connect to the dedicated server, you should be fine to play with anyone else (who can also connect to the dedicated server, of course). Since we are now using servers instead of P2P, NAT incompatibilities are less of an issue.
-
I'm so sad that Plague is in this condition. She was my favourite along with Trapper and I was playing her so much that I was almost becoming a Plague main. Last time playing her made me want to rip my hair out and throw my controller into my TV.
I'm also hoping that they fix the issues that came along with dedicated servers and the Silent Hill patch. At least before SH patch her vomit and corrupt purge hit the survivors 80 percent of the time. How did they even screw her and also Myers up when nothing was being changed for them? Are there some new bugs with FOVs and camera angles? Billy, Plague and Myers have had or still have those bugs and also FOVs are screwed up in spectator mode in KYF.
-
I noticed the same. Crossplay off survivor queues are now about 10-20 minutes and crossplay on about 5-15 minutes depending of the time of the day.
No one wants to play killer outside of rift challenges. I know I haven't since June.
You can make maps smaller and pallets unsafe but it doesn't matter if survivors split up and know how to hold m1 and run in a straight line. Add FPS problems and aim dressing to that and you have the ingredients for the most miserable gaming experience.

He...didn't attack the killer playerbase whatsoever, and as for the console part: it rings true, tbh. Unless it's a toxic 4 man or the odd actual good console killer, almost every time I've had console players in my game, they've been a big hinderance to the role they're playing.
Insulting, condescending, whatever, don't know what to tell you if you don't see it.
The console part isn't true in the slightest. There's both good and bad players regardless of platform.
And a free advice for you and op: turn crossplay off if console players ruin your precious experience.
-
You lost all credibility (if this post even had any) by insulting both console and killer playerbases, good job.
Another dynamic into the game.. Yes, a negative one just like moris.

@batax90 said:
The only readon we have bad fps on console is because the game is badly optimise for the current gen we have the next gen will have the same problem
True. Current consoles, especially ps4 pro and xbox one x could easily run this game 60 fps if the devs knew how to optimize the game, but sadly they don't. Next gen consoles might get 10 fps improvement compared to current gen consoles and even that will be bad. BHVR should ask help from Guerrilla or Naughty Dog about how to make games run properly.
-
As a console player, please don't generalise every console player like that. I don't think it's because "they just rage when they get downed" or anything like that for the most part. Crossplay on the game can be EXTREMELY stuttering and the status related frame drops got WAY WORSE after the cp implementation.
Even when repairing a gen or getting hit without sloppy my game very often skips frames so that even when I'm holding my camera towards a certain direction etc. it suddenly just points 90 degrees in different direction and I'm running towards a tree or missing a skill check. It's infuriating and the childish, condescending PC players laughing at us because of things beyond our control doesn't feel very nice. The console optimization is ######### and the map updates, new gens and some animations didn't help at all.
And believe me, the most toxic console players kept the crossplay off. There's no other type of survivor playing cp off anymore than toxic bully squads cheesing the aim dressing at every possible moment. And that's probably the reason they keep the cp off; they cannot cheese the aim dressing so easily against a PC killer and would derank back to green ranks because they don't know how to actually loop. My killer experience has gotten so bad after the cp implementation because were it on or off I get the worst of both options. Survivor isn't nice either because of the optimization and at certain hours the queue times are 20 minutes eith cp off. If on some matches I get constant frame drops and stutters, I'd rather find a new match since they make me dizzy and cause headache.

Firstly, that perk combo ain't broken.
Secondly, every perk should do something by itself. Undying wouldn't do anything by itself if they removed the aura reading. You shouldn't have to combo a perk with another for it to be worth running.
