  • Removing even one perk tier would be a huge help. Then it would be nice to have an option to choose which tier of the the perk you have active. A good example is Dsicordance where some like the tier 1 and some like the tier 3.

In addition to this all BP offerings should be buffed and some changed slightly. Bound envelope/hollow shell, for example, should be changed to give 50 % more BP in all categories for all survivors and the killer.

  • Trapper: Take me man meat!

Wraith: Love the addons, especially the faster action speed ones.

Hillbilly: I liked the old you, no one wants to hear your new yells of pleasure.

Nurse: Every hit I get as you on console feels like I won in the olympics.

Hag: My favourite girl with Plague. Your higher color addons are underrated and very fun. One of the best mori animation in the game.

Doctor: You were my main until they reworked you, miss you. I love that you're always so happy. Dr. Vivisection 4-ever!

    Shape: *breathing*

Huntress: When I play you, it feels like I'm on a horse. Your lullaby stays in my head for several hours after hearing it.

Leatherface: Now you can be as happy with your new buffs than you are in the end of your mori animation. You could be named Lethalface.

Freddy: Sorry but I can't say anything positive about you. I just hate you.

Pig: You deserve some buffs but are still fun from time to time.

Clown: Some sexy belly you got there, it would be a shame if someone sucked the maggots out of your christmas skin. Seriously. Santa Clown is the best skin in the game.

Spirit: I love playing against you. Good basekit.

Legion: Ugh.. Well, I don't hate you as much as Freddy, that's something, right? You were over-nerfed.

Plague: One of my favs. Beautiful and heartbreaking. <3

Ghost Face: You are one of the most fun killers to play as and against. Your addons could use a buff.

Demogorgon: One of my top 5 favourites. Fun and cute. Could use some buffs to both basekit and addons. Blindness in portal kekw.

Oni: I love the chases against you. I should learn to play you.

Deathslinger: Meh. I don't hate you or love you as survivor or as playing you. Neutral.

PH: This game ruined the immersion of you for me, sadly. At least you are not weak.

    Blight: Too new. RAAAA!

  • All the SWFs start to play between 8-11PM from which most are either toxic bully squads or genrush squads. No one has a fun time playing against those.

When the devs make it so that killer gets double BP from playing against an SWF and something to balance it out, for example a shared perk pool for SWF, I'll consider playing killer at these times.

Until then; nope, enjoy your queue times.

  • I personally have never had a problem revealing Ghost Face after I seeked for information how it works. So here's the info for you and everyone else having problems with it:

    - The Ghost Face has to be in the middle area of your screen BOTH horizontally AND vertically, the area is about 30 percent of your screen in size

    - You have to see over 30 percent of his body to be able to reveal him, seeing his mask when he leans behind cover isn't enough

    - If your character's model is in the way when you try to reveal him, it won't work.

Also try and ask for a friend to help in KYF and learn the camera gimmicks to get him in the right part of the screen. Hope this helps.

Where did I say I "need" this? I simply stated that the rate of turn is a lot better on mouse and keyboard lol. It is. A lot better. You don't know who you are playing but it becomes clear as the match goes on. And a 180 or 360 drops framerates? Even if it does, a PC's 40 or 50 is still a hell of a lot better than console's 20. Lmao. Play against a doctor on console. Miserable experience. Personally, I don't care. I'll play whoever. Doesn't matter to me. I'm not a sweaty tryhard. I play when I can play. So, in other words, I guess you can call me a casual. I play in reds solo mostly. Get done what I can get done. If I get out, I get out. If not, oh well. But, idk if you misunderstood or just wanna fire shots, but all I was getting at is rate of turn is definitely noticeable. The rest is about the same.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear when I wrote. I didn't mean you specifically, but survivors in general and I should have wrote that differently.

It is just a very frustrating flaw in the game and it can cost you the match. It's too easy to get spun/cheesed on console and the fps problems make that even worse. If the survivor is "good enough" at abusing that, it can make the killer whiff many times before landing the attack, which is so stupid. Survivor's don't need any more second chances than they already have.

But it is what it is because this is BHVR and you need to eat ######### if you want to play killer in this game. So, I stopped playing killer in June except for the tome challenges because of the fps and aim dressing problems. Let's see if they even acknowledge the console fps in their next Q&A.

  • @Nvsbl_1 said:

The thing I've noticed most with cross play when going against a pc killer is the rate of turn. In this regard, pc killers definitely have an advantage. With console killers you can usually juke them fairly well with a 180 or left and right turns. It is highly noticeable when going against mouse and keyboard player. They can turn really fast. Quicker than a controller will ever be able to. Other than that, I don't really notice too much.

If you need to cheese the aim dressing to perform well in a chase, you are just a bad survivors who doesn't know pathing and looping.

Ps4 is full of no skill players "juking" the killer by abusing the most BS mechanic in this game which killers have no option to turn off. Not to mention that survivors doing a 360 drop the killer's framerate when they do it. Funnily most of those players have opted out of crossplay because PC killers would just drop them back to green ranks where they belong.

  • Here's a little bit of common sense to you:

Console players who think that playing against PC is unfair opt out from crossplay. So they cannot be the ones that DC in your games.

Stop blaming one portion of the community about actions that plague the whole community regardless of platform.

  • Sounds have been bugged since January (?) I think, over 6 months anyways at least. Random no injured sounds and silent slugs happen every now and then. Also survivors have no footstep sounds at all except on a few maps which is right out BS.

Certainly not a first priority to the devs, among other things. At this rate there's going to be more bugs than they ever have time to fix.

Now, here's a new DLC with a bugged killer and horrible niche perks with a cosmetic collection. Give us your money.

    Because you don't understand.

    It's 15k yes. It's not a million.

Dο not advertise "the best to the best", the "highest level" and bs like that then.

The level was low and laughable. Scummy/boosted plays and builds. You don't need camp and tunneling NOED Spirits and Hags to win.

Only Otz and Ayrun showed high stantards.

FingerGuns, TricksterShadow and Jordirex all played very well and showed high standards as well. Are you excluding them because they didn't play by your rulebook? I would like to see how you would perform against a tournament team and not using proxy camp/tunnel as a strategy. You should go watch the video where Otz goes against the Legacy team as Freddy and he tunnels the crap out of the Object.

Special mention that Ayrun BMd in a tournament to a team that had a game crash/unintentional DC. That was very childish but I didn't expect anything else from him since he is one of the most toxic members of this community.

  • I believe the Oni one was done like that because when a healthy survivor is grabbed they change health states and give blood orbs as seen in the video, so it's more fitting that he stabs the survivor. I believe Oni has the standard grab animation when the survivor is already injured.

For me it doesn't seem like the Hag injures the survivor but more like charges (in an animal way because of her hunger) to get the survivor on her shoulders since she's so small.

Interesting observation still. I haven't really thought about the grab animations from lockers that much. I think the coolest grab animations is when the Nurse grabs a survivor in a middle of a hook rescue.

  • Same reasons as you have + key or obvious 3/4-man. If the survivors burn a Haddonfield/Ormond/Yamaoka offering I'm closing the app in the loading screen. I really don't understand some survivor's mentality that they wait >10 minutes for a match and want to genrush it to be over in 5 minutes in an unbalanced map with 15k points, only to get back in the >10 minute queue.

My killer ques are literally instant at all times so no downside to dodge the lobbies that scream insufferable/toxic game for me.

I only want to play to get as much bp as possible while having fun and have a 10-15 minute matches. I love the matches where I get 8-10 hooks, 2k/2e and I get brutal/ruthless. In those games everyone has over 20k points and they are fun.

I never said he was pro I said he was good. Well not even good average survivor. Tru3 is a killer main. Sure he can handle some loops he just isnt like people like Ussylis.

Tru3 WAS a killer main. He's been playing exactly 50/50 both roles for a long time now.

  • @Mtom912 said:

Personally queue times for survivor were considerably shortened, but I no longer have instant killer queues

Overall PC hardware definitely have the hardware advantage, and with frames, and such, but it's not gonna make them beat someone on console if they're worse. PC doesn't make someone considerably good, and it's comical when I find someone with a username that's something like, Console = bad, when they're not even that great, and I've found PC randoms just as amazing, Kappa, as console randoms

and with what i'm hoping that optimisation, and fixing of aim dressing, which I've found extremely common on console compared to PC, which has already been acknowledged by the devs, it will make it more equal

The devs haven't acknowledged the console optimization problems tho. They have only said on twitter that they will give special attention to it regarding the new graphics, which is only 7 maps. That doesn't help with the optimization problems regarding specific killers, powers, perks and status effects let alone the other 20-something maps that have problems.

And AFAIK, the devs have only admitted that the aim dressing exists but haven't said they will do anything about it, even tho it is the most horrible and BS mechanic in this game.

Do you have a link or something where they supposedly have acknowledged and promised to fix these problems?

Eh just because the other team played badly doesn't imply Otz didn't play well.

Of course not. And I didn't say that.

  • @xenofon13 said:

Few survivors were good. Most of them boosted.

    Killers with horrible builds.

Noed spirits and hags camping and tunneling every hook.

Dirty plays, definitely not high level. Not even close.

Only Otz and Ayrun played well.

Any killer with 2 braincells would have done well against the team Otz went against. I was kinda disappointed because I wanted to see him against a serious sweat team.

Like, kindred, lightweight and 2 (TWO) autodidacts, who brings those at a tournament?

About camp/tunnel, they have always been used strategies at tournaments so nothing new there. Sometimes it is the right play, sometimes not.

"Ummm no. I don't know how you interpret my comment like I wanted him to go clicky clicky. I said that it would be interesting to see different builds."

I interpreted that because there's nothing else left to do. Your comment on different builds was unrelated to your reference of wanting him to do something other than gens.

"And he and his team certainly don't go out of their way to do totems. They get hit with noed all the time because they just rush the gens instead of cleansing."

Any time he sees a totem he cleanses it. Saying he should literally walk around the map looking for dull totems is telling him to play dumb. You're asking for someone you can watch to improve your game play and then being critical of him making the best play choices.

"And my main point was that it's just boring to watch them crush killers in minutes and it's a shame he doesn't play more killer."

I get what your saying and I'd like him to play more killer as well, but your comment runs counter to your posts original intent.

You want someone that can show you how to play well. The way he is playing is how you play well. To play less "boring" is asking him not to play smart, which is the main reason you'd want to watch him in the first place. The boring play style is generally the most efficient play style.

I suppose if your topic was "looking for the most fun survivor to watch that also does decently well at the same time", I would agree with you more.

Playing smart and doing different builds do not exclude each other. Zubat and tru3 do this all the time (and that's why I watch more of them). I was telling what would make his content better and we all have different opinions about that. Fortunately there is a lot of different streamers.

When a killer is getting crushed and not getting much hooks at all (like in most of his matches), then a team as good as his certainly has time to scout the map for totems. That is a smart and more secure play, since it prevents noed and prevents one or two teammates dying because of it.

This topic was about looping and he is one of the best at that. That doesn't mean he's perfect and not allowed to be criticized in other parts of the game, so no, my comment expressing my opinion about what would make his content better does not counter my first comment's original intent, which was to recommend a good looper.

  • That's the reason killer lobbies are instant all the time. I'm dodging the obvious 3/4-man, multiple toolbox and key lobbies. Keeps my mental health in check.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1596592#Comment_1596592

Them doing the gens is sweaty? Should he go find the killer and clicky clicky at him? I'm confused what you'd want him to do instead of gens.

He goes out of his way to do totems and open chests.

Ummm no. I don't know how you interpret my comment like I wanted him to go clicky clicky. I said that it would be interesting to see different builds.

And he and his team certainly don't go out of their way to do totems. They get hit with noed all the time because they just rush the gens instead of cleansing.

And my main point was that it's just boring to watch them crush killers in minutes and it's a shame he doesn't play more killer.

Fungoose is probably the best survivor and killer player I've ever seen.

He streams on twitch and uploads to youtube regularly. A highly educational and friendly person to watch as well.

Yeah Fungoose is very good but sometimes it's so boring to watch his streams when he only plays with his 3/4-man premade and they rush the gens in 5 minutes and two of his team are kinda toxic every now and then. He also plays with the same build all the time. Like it would be a lot more entertaining if they weren't so sweaty all the time and there was more interaction and situations with the killer.

His killer play is much more interesting but he plays too little killer nowadays.

Me too. Fingers crossed that they finally give us at least some answer/info.

At this point it feels like it's intentional that the bloodlust kicks in just when you are getting the second hit. This game robbs so much hooks from the killer that it is insane.

I'm just happy that I got my killer challenges out of the way and I don't need to play killer in almost two weeks. I got the shards and 2,4 mil bps preserved to unlock the new perks when the chapter comes out. If I didn't have the shards I certainly wouldn't support this game by buying the chapter. No money from me until the console issues are acknowledged.

  • Babysitter, Alert, Breakdown and 4th perk of your choosing. I usually take WGLF but Kindred/Dark Sense/Diversion fill that build well. It's quite fun goof around and try to throw the killer off from his patrol route or take aggro.

I play on PC also EU, not sure what servers exactly but I've been getting a lot of my fellow irishmen, some brits, some French and some Norwegians mostly. I play with cross play on just because either it off queue times on both ends increases drastically.

After the implementation of cp the killer ques have always been instant for me when cp is off. Survivor ques stayed the same mostly, maybe a bit quicker before 10PM. After 10PM when the survivor ques get too long I might play few survivor matches with cp on but those matches usually ain't very fun and there's a lot of stutter and lag.

  • Yeah. I play on ps4 EU so I'm at Frankfurt and London servers and I play crossplay off so that probably affects the experience.

On PC there seems to be more variation in survivors. I'd play cp on if the console was optimized properly.

  • I play killer until I start getting only 3/4-man SWFs, then I switch to survivor. After 10PM when ques get too long to play survivor I close the game and play something else.

  • Zubat, Fungoose, tru3. In that order.

By watching them you get good and analytical commentary instead of "LOL I can't believe that worked, someone is BOOOOSTED, get wrecked [insert killer], s/he's so bad LOL" etc.

  • I get tunneled in about 1 in 20 matches, but then again I don't play like an ######### dedicating my whole existence to ruin the killer's match. Usually when a survivor gets tunneled it's completely their own fault. Don't get cocky and try to rub your invincibility perks to the killer's face and maybe you might experience a nice normal match with good bp for all.

I have tried crossplay every day about 2 matches and it is nearly not as fun as playing only with ps4 players. It's just genrush and slugging with crossplay on and just as much NOED as in ps4. I'd rather be sacrificed with 25k bp and 2-4 WGLF stacks than be in a genrush match and survive with 15k and 0-1 WGLF stacks.

Lastly, if there's only 2 gens left and no one is dead, it is completely reasonable for the killer to try to tunnel/proxy camp a survivor out of the game. Otherwise you can't win in that situation unless you use NOED and the survivors are altruistic/potatoes.

  • Screenshot_20200902-174328~2.png

Here, I made it into a picture so it's easier to evaluate.

I'm surprised that spirit isn't in S tier on average. And I don't think Doc should be that high. Hillbilly, in my opinion, doesn't belong in the same tier with Hag or Huntress.

  • So I got into a lobby. The game froze for 12 seconds! So when I got back in control there was only 48 seconds left on the timer.

When even the menu/lobbies are this bad, there's something wrong with the code. How about directing resources into hiring capable employees for the programming team?

  • Wow dude/gal, appreciate the dedication!

    Very admirable.

  • 1. Game sense. 95 percent of survivors lack this and need SWF and meta builds to compensate. Best way to learn this is to play solo. This is the reason for all the NOED complaints.

    2. Mindgames. 90 percent of survivors don't know how to mindgame. That's mostly because majority of them don't play killer at all so they never learn it. This is also the reason for all the complaints about killers whose looping structure differs from a basic killer.

    3. Looping. Often regarded as the most skill requiring thing by survivors who haven't learned the two more skill requiring things mentioned above.

    4. Juking. Basic skill that all should learn. Very hard against an experienced killer. Unless you're a blendette.

    5. Doing generators.

That's my opinion of course, not a fact.

  • Screenshot_20200901-223707.png

New reasons for closing the thread has now emerged. Apparently it was not just spamming (/s). It felt VERY UNFAIR that it was closed so quickly after one user's mistake, the warning was at the previous page and the one who bumped it wasn't probably even seen the warning.

In my opinion, the devs were not bashed in that thread. They were CRITICIZED for a reason because of their ignorement of the issue. At this point, the devs kinda deserve the call outs they get. They've had multiple weeks to investigate and still NOTHING!

FYI for BHVR, the issue going to only get more attention the more it is ignored.

Who needs all that when you can spend $500+ to play this game with better fps instead of having them fix the issues on the console everyone already owns? I mean, it's not like lack of funds is why console doesn't just buy a PC to play it with better fps.

There’s like 4 different discussions that are now all mashed together under “console optimization”. The genius thing is that now all comments have to basically follow that topic or watch this thread get closed too.

so instead of just leaving our original self policed thread alone, the mods get heat and throw a bunch of different things into one topic.

Yeah, great logic isn't it? Our beautiful thread had a few comment not on topic, but having comments from multiple different topics in this thread is okay.

Still, I'm so glad that all of us console players have found each other here regarding this serious issue (which is ignored by the devs) and I hope we all continue to work together to get this acknowledged. ❤

Today I played again Clown in the corn. 🌽

It wasn't beautiful, it was a slide show about toxic Cheryl.

  • Yes. Their excuse was "drama" and bumping.

They needed any excuse to silence it since they don't want to fix things.

No rip, we will continue to talk about this issue here, on reddit, on metacritic, on social media, anywhere, as long as it takes the devs to man up and acknowledge this and give us an answer.

  • As far as silencing console players go, here is a link to this thread that's being sinked so it won't be seen by so many people:

    @MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky said:

You guys know what to do! Talk about your problems on console! How its been preforming! What other new problems have risen on console! We need our voices actually heard!

For some that still need a back story on this. In 2018 BHVR said either by end of October or November, can't remember just GENERALLY near end 2018 that they would optimize console, which as we know, that was a lie and all they did was downgraded the graphics, and ever since then, they kept quite about and everytime anyone brought it up to the devs they always said one of the few followings

"We currently don't have a team working on it"

"We will have further updates on it once we have information on it"

Or "We shared this among the team" which is the biggest lie and their responses just keep looping like this every time it is asked

So to make sure this thread goes on until we get an answer, NO BUMPING meaning NO "Bump" replies of any sort, since it is for whatever reason consider "drama" if you see this thread go off the front page, don't simply bump it, say something related to the FPS on console or other problems related to console!

Even when it gets new comments, it doesn't go to the first page.

Cencoring is getting strong in this forum.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1588231#Comment_1588231

That's the "sinking" function (no, I did not made that up). Let me quote the Vanilla staff from the Vanilla Forums:

"Sink prevents a discussion from being 'bumped' back to the top of the list when new comments are posted. This allows admins and moderators to quietly cause a discussion to lose importance and die without stirring unrest by forcefully closing it."

    Oh, I see.

This is getting ridiculous and pathetic.

  • I was very sad to see that thread get closed. It seemed like they were just looking for any excuse to close the thread instead of an actual reason and I'm pretty sure the order has come from higher up. The devs seem to start getting nervous which is a good thing.

I for one am going to support every thread about console optimization and sadly, also threads that are created because we are getting unjustifiably ignored and shushed.

  • And for some reason, despite a new comment, this discussion stayed in the second page instead of going to the first.

    Coincidence?

  • And here I came to this forum on this sad day just to see an unpleasant surprise of an attempt to try and silence us console players. What an elegant gesture from BHVR instead of identifying the FPS problem and giving console players an ETA, some info, anything really.

So here's my experience from yersterday's games in regards to the FPS:

Clown and corn don't mix well.

Neither do Shape's tier 3 and survivors.

And BTW, getting head on stunned also drops the frames, yay!!!

New symptoms are found every game session, so be sure to share them here!

  • It's been like this for a long time, since dedicated servers I think, at least on ps4. Hag certainly ain't high tier on console because you never hit the survs right after the teleport since somehow they always have time to get distance from the trap.

  • Playing 28 matches starting from rank 20 doesn't tell anything about specific killer being OP. After reaching red ranks (if you reach red ranks) play and record 30-50 matches against red rank survivors.

  • BBQ and Corrupt Intervention for killer.

Inner Strenght and WGLF for survivor.

  • Missing a skill check isn't a scream. It doesn't give the similar scream bubble to the killer as doctor shock or freddy snare for example, it gives the failed skill check audio and visual notification. So calm spirit isn't supposed to work on that.
