Survivors only got nerfed because of bad killers, BHVR shouldn't balance dbd around low performing killer's wanting 4ks every game for free, but they did.
No, BHVR balanced off internal data that shows that kill rates aren't where they want them to be.

You simply make kindred basekit
Survivor auras? Sure. I don't know how much it would help, but people do seem to want it - so, why not?
Killer aura? No, that's too strong for basekit, especially with Open Handed+Kindred on some maps basically being near complete wallhacks.

I am really surprised there are so few people understanding what is happening. This is what I'm seeing (I usually play Killer or SWF about equally, so I don't feel like I have any biases with solo-queue players).
You have a group of people, solo survivor queue, that has been crapped on since the game has been out. They've always been expected to lose 15% more games than an SWF, so they're already bitter. They make up the biggest group of players in the game (I think I'm correct on this). They are the least invested players in the game.
Considering those 3 factors and then combine that with a mess of a patch that directly screws solo queue players. A patch, which a lot of players already told the developers on the PTB, that there were too many killer buffs. And all the resentment boils to the top.
So now, you have a lot of solo-queue players losing every game (Yes, there are solo-queue players that aren't experiencing that, but you have a lot that are). Solo-queue have become hopeless with the game, so anything that goes wrong, they go and start DCing, AFKing, Suiciding or just screwing around and not playing the game. Eventually they're just going to quit.
Everyone is assuming Solo-queue players are going to act the same way Killer players, hybrid players or SWF players are going to act when a bad patch drops. However, that group of players doesn't have similarities to the other 3 groups. That group of players isn't invested in the game, the other 3 groups are a lot more invested with killer mains being heavily invested in the game.
So a bad patch for killers causes a bunch of complaining, because they're so heavily invested in the game, in fact there's a lot of killer players that use this game as a job and stream it.
A bad patch for solo-queue is going to have a much more drastic effect and we're seeing it.
I think you're looking at this wrong.
A SWF is going to win 15% more than solo queue.
Aside from stuff like status icons (which I don't think will do much) or native voicechat (ahahahaha), you can't buff solo without buffing SWF. Which would be unfair to killers.
When a kid is sulking, the worst thing you can do is give in. Because that teaches them to sulk whenever something goes against them.

Well, if you figure out how to fix social media echo chambers, then you need to get a job in the government because that's a massive problem that the government is having and they don't seem to know how to fix it.
If I'm correct, it's possible you can fix it. And I'm pretty sure I'm right. Heck, I called all of this happening before the patch released. And now I'm calling this... The best way to fix this is to do it immediately before they lose what little faith solo-queue players have in BHVR. They need to buff solo-queue pronto.
I'm not a solo queue player but this issue is pretty much right there in everyones face if they just look.
Outside of status icons, how do you buff solo queue without breaking killer versus SWF?

Hm ok u sold be on Empathy. It does provide decent value fairly consistently. I would give it a B-Tier.
I still think open handed is trash.
Blood Pact is a perk that can be decent but it often doesnt provide any value. Seeing each other can be ok but isnt empathy straight up better? Looping together is terrible so the sprint boost doesnt provide a lot of value.
You don't need to loop together. Move, stick to a gen, when the killer approaches just hold W, then split up once you reach a loop - that 7% is a huge amount of additional speed and I've seen killers just straight up give up on the chase. It's also probably the #1 perk that gets people accusing me of being a cheater XD.

I can agree on Dead Hard.
Self care is still great with Botany Knowledge. being able to heal anywhere is big. Of course running a decent Medkit right now is Meta and a lot better but if u dont run any items then self care + botany is definetly really strong in solo que. Self-Care without botany however is trash.
Na Open Handed is trash. If u have kindred its enough information to see where the killers is going + if hes camping. Not more information needed.
Calm Spirit is D tier so that is almost trash but yeah u are right it is trash.
Empathy is a good aura reading but tell me why would it deserve A-tier ? people always run some kind of self heal and knowing where they get chased isnt that big of an advantage. kindred is the better aura reading perk.
Self Care is okay with BK, but you're now dedicating two perk slots to something that could be realistically accomplished better with an item, or better yet a boon.
The thing about Open Handed+Kindred is that, on a lot of maps, you can basically see the killer's aura at all times and it makes looping/mindgaming so much easier, especially if they are defending the hook.
I love Empathy - it's not my favorite friendly solo queue aura perk (that would probably have to be Kindred or Blood Pact), but it's amazing in so many ways.
- You can tell when someone's being chased, allowing you to set up body blocks and saves with ease.
- You can immediately find injured people, top them up and then either slam a gen or separate.
- It allows you to narrow down the killer's location, based on what your allies are doing.
- It often allows you to lead the killer away from people that are healing or injured.
Empathy and Blood Pact are two perks that way too many people sleep on.

Maybe. If it is, I guess the game is screwed. Because then there's no fix for it.
It's tricky, but it can be done. The problem is that any fix is going to have to be implemented very carefully, so that people can't abuse it.

The game shouldn't be balanced around those not even attempting to win.
This.
So much this.
When people are sulking, the worst thing you can do is give in to them - because all that means is they pout harder the next time.
Everyone needs to calm down, focus on the few things that obviously need to change in the short term (DS being one) and adapt. Once a new meta settles, we can see where we stand.

Let me just tell the Mikaela and Meg who have no idea what the term "3-gen" means to not 3-gen us.
Ah. You're playing solo.
Yeah, solo queue is going to be annoying sometimes, and no amount of baseline voice chat or status icons is going to convince people not to bork your game, go AFK, suicide on their first hook or DC the second they hear a Dredge.
It's...unfortunate, but not something that can easily be fixed. A team role will always be sub-optimal with randos, as coordination is key.
You're a pretty experienced player - have you tried grabbing some people off the DbD Discord? It's really quick and easy.

I disagree, it's way easier now. Even I who suck at killer am getting constant 4ks as pig and freddy with max 2 slowdowns and I dont even camp or tunnel.
It has become way easier to tunnel and camp now too, since 5 seconds BT is almost useless and hit recovery and gens taking longer also helped with making them easier.
Bond is not redundant at all for me. Helps me take hits for team mates etc.
Keep in mind that SBMM is all over the place right now, due to both queue times and people's MMR's fluctuating rapidly as they try to adapt.
I know that I'll go from a very easy game to a very difficult 4man SWF, then back to an easy game, then an even game back to back.

and i guess when the game is over before the day is over its a genrush
Cows go 'moo', goats go 'bleeh', people in PvP games go 'pouty pouty sulky pout' when things don't go their way.
I've had people accuse me of tunneling for chasing them for too long.
I've had people accuse me of camping when they literally led me, mid chase, to a survivor and unhooked.
I've been told that Dredge, Mirror Myers, Doctor and Trickster are OP and that I'm a bad person for playing them.
I've been cussed out for playing Demo, as apparently it's 'not fair' that it's still in the game.

This is sarcasm. I have gotten TWO forever Legion's and two Plague's who refused to chase anyone out of their 3-gen and refused to let the game end until we literally both got in lockers at Shack for 5 minutes and had crows.
Holy ######### is it miserable to play Survivor rn
Yeah, this sucks - but it's not really anything to do with the new patch. It's the same as 'stall squads' or people who play hide and seek the second the match starts going south - the goal isn't so much to win as to drag the game out ad infinitum in the hopes that the other person quits.
3genning is annoying, but it's something that survivors can do a lot to prevent.
-
@Gindaen said:
Instead of fixing the problem, you are advocating to fix the symptom.
If players aren't having fun and are not doing objectives, DCing and Suiciding, the indicates a game health problem, not a player problem. But maybe you'll be happy when all the survivor players quit and you can play killer without having to deal with survivors at all.
Or, it indicates the power of gaming echo chambers, where people will sulk and pout about any changes that make their role more difficult, regardless of merit.
@The_Krapper said:

Theres a difference between playing normally and trying to focus one survivor out of the trial early, while it may be beneficial and you're not supposed to care about their fun , if you don't care about their fun why should they care about yours? Why shouldn't they make it as annoying as possible because you won't stop focusing them? It makes perfect sense in that aspect of things, and if the killer fails they have no room to complain when they choose a playstyle like that and survivors don't have room complain either if they die because at the end of the day they got caught and died and dead people can't talk but they can sure try.
@FrostyEyesSusie said:

I don't understand this. It's like a killer saying they're facecamping, nodding and hitting on hook because they saw a survivor doing a gen. Like what the hell is that thinking of resenting people for doing their objectives? That's just choosing to be spiteful and bitter at someone for doing what they are supposed to do.
Eh.
The issue is that camping and tunneling are still too effective for how much effort they take, and too difficult to counter while also being extremely unfun to face.
It's not easy to fix, and this patch was an...okay start, but it still needs more attention.

Lots wrong here.

- Self care goes down a tier. It's...not great now.

My build already has 2 things that I dont change (it being kindred and bond because you need those in soloq), then I have lithe and prove thyself because of gens being slower and survivors almost getting no BP.
The problem is not my build.
The point of the patch was so people wouldnt have to have a perk to prevent camping/tunneling, but here we are still expected to use those.
Taking extreme cases out of the equation (some killers are too strong at camping/tunneling straight through Endurance), it's way better than it was.
Outside of those killers, the only time I've had trouble was when someone gets put into the basement, which is sort of their own fault. Baseline BT means that - best case scenario - I get a bodyblock and we are both out, and worst case scenario it's a trade. I've also suggested a few times that killers not be able to use their powers within a certain radius of hooked survivors, or for a brief window after the unhook.
I'd drop either Bond or Kindred for something else - they are somewhat redundant. Bond in particular is the sort of thing you can compensate for with a bit of game sense.
The meta is likely going to be shifting towards a more 'team buff' oriented style, and away from second chance perks.

@Marigoria said:
Yes. I'd say my escape rate in solo q went from around 40-45% to around 25-30% with the same build.
Try a different build?
I made a small adjustment to mine (now it's Lithe, OTR, CoH and WoO) and I'm doing just fine. Have already had multiple moments where baseline BT saved our bacon, or OTR allowed me to do something funky.
Put DS back to 5 seconds and Self Care back to 50% - that seems more than reasonable.
@[Deleted User] said:
Depends on your definition of losing. I don't mind dying in a match that was fun.
But face camping and tunneling have massively increased since the patch. And it's not fun to die on first hook while the killer does their best Garden Gnome impression Infront of my face.
So in terms of fun? Losing much more :(
I have absolutely seen less face camping overall, and when it occurs, it's much easier to bypass or at least trade out on.
Tunneling...as in tunneling directly off hook is about where it always was, but is less effective thanks to OTR and baseline BT. There are some killers that are still too strong at either camping or tunneling (Nurse, Bubba) but that's a bigger issue that's going to need a more surgical fix.

Maybe an actual mmr system that understands what skill is, I shouldn't be getting people do 0 gens. I should never be matched with them, as killer or survivor
There is no such thing as a perfect MMR system outside of maybe Chess. It's a huge improvement upon the RBMM system, with it's stupid monthly resets and endless creep, smurfing and deranking.
MMR cannot account for people who occasionally play badly - at best, it can, over a large average of games, try to determine roughly what your skill level is - as someone more skilled will naturally escape more over time than someone less skilled. The occasional game where a lobby dodge, smurfs or a long queue makes SBMM poop itself are annoying, but don't really shift your MMR much in either direction.
I'm all for it being more nuanced on the survivor end of things, but it's really difficult to do. The best we can hope for is for lobby dodges to no longer screw with the system and some sort of smurf detection (people who suicide/AFK games a lot need to get flagged somehow).
Remember - MMR isn't a reward. There's no benefit to being higher MMR aside from more challenging opponents.

Hacking was mentioned once in my original comment and them you made a whole debogl
No...you mentioned 'ways to stop people from doing literally anything for extended periods of time'. I then said 'well, aside from stuff that is actually bannable and also partially mechanically fixed, there isn't much'.

you can do it
This sounds good, but never works in reality.
I remember when Blizzard tried this in Starcraft 2, and it backfired spectacularly. The strong players got to the rank they wanted in Ranked, while smurfing hard in Unranked, to the extent that the only way to reliably find games against 'casual' players was to play Ranked.

Definitely forever legion isn’t particularly strong especially against competent survivors but it’s absolute hell to play against and with a 3 gen is basically unwinnable
3gens are about as much as a stalemate as they always have been, but it's really on the survivors to prevent it from occurring.
Forever Legion is...meh. Again, it's just the equivalent of a stall squad. Both probably need a look, as they are zero fun to go against, but there are plenty of things to be prioritized over this.

I’ve actually had very few teammates who DC or throw the game. Mostly been getting legions and nurse running 4 slowdown and agi/starstruck respectively
Agi Starstruck Nurse is pretty meta, and yes Nurse needs some toning down.
However, those Legions aren't all that strong - they are just tedious. It's the killer equivalent of a double locker flashlight sabo breakout BO squad. You can still beat them, but the game just takes twice as long.

Yeah. It's going to take a while for those survivors to either adapt or quit, right now it's a giant pile of pout.

A little more, but not much. Maybe from like 50% escape in solo to 40% or something close. Gens popping about like they always have (they take 10 secs longer, sure, but the slowdown perks are less oppressive), doing about the same in chase.
One thing I have noticed, and it is a small sample, is that matchmaking seems to be a lot worse. Either that or people are throwing.
Otoh, it could be that a lot of people are just feeling new things out, and everything's just off kilter right now, and that will pass.
@foodie said:
I lose more, but mainly because of teammates. SoloQ in my opinion is harder now, not because of the killer buffs but because the MMR is somehow worse than before, and you either get teammates with few hours, clueless teammates, teammates that do nothing, teammates that are overly confident and seem to think they're good at looping and being toxic, but in reality are not and what I see the most is teammates that are sabotaging you on purpose - e.g. body blocking you or bringing the killer to you on purpose in the hopes you will be taking a hit for them, etc.
If a survivor tries to sabotage me in a match by whatever means, I give up on hook and move on. That might be putting my MMR In the gutter, but honestly I'd rather leave and lose than play with teammates that are doing these things
I think a lot of people got slightly inflated MMRs due to relying on Dead Hard, and it will take a while to find their new spot.
Also, yes - people are having a big ol' sulk right now, so I'm seeing maybe 30% more AFKs and first hook suicides.

DDOS. I am writing this well over an hour after it happened. I still have no connection to the internet through my network.
My boyfriend has been convincing me to find better games together, since the latest update. He’s been playing since release. I just joined February. I’ve been obsessed since and my boyfriend and I use it as our bonding/chill time. Now, I’m considering it.
(Also, for better understanding… My boyfriend’s perk build was—:Borrowed Time, Saboteur, break out and breakdown. My Perk build was—: Boil Over, No Mither, Tenacity and Flip flop)
The last match was against a nurse, who had the Aimbot MOD. My boyfriend had 2 hooks, while I remained with zero. The killer kept trying, and eventually got fed up when he realized even AimBot wasn’t going to help him.
next thing we know, our game crashes. We’ve been waiting over an hour now. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the killers username. Also, having a report and rating options after game is extremely useless, as DBD doesn’t ever check them. Also, no clue why there is a block button when even if we have them blocked, we still run into them.
All dead by daylight is doing is creating a monster and toxic community. I never realized how people can be so upset or pressed about a video game to the point of DDOS, in game bullying (slugging and leading to bleed out.
This has become so toxic, and just all around leaving a bad taste in my mouth from not being able to participate in gameplay, getting a ban for DCing when I’m not the one who should be punished. There is no reason for someone to sit through a game they aren’t even able to be involved in.
I regret putting so much money into this game for all the characters, rifts and outfits. Because now, it’s no longer fun. People take this game way too seriously. It seems like the ones who do, are children who shouldn’t be playing as they’re not mature enough.
finally after all my gameplay I perfected my perk build (just yesterday I tweaked it. Before was boil over, breakdown, tenacity and flip flop).
It’s sad to see there isn’t smart enough people are to come up with their own builds to counteract. They have to resort to throwing a tantrum like a toddler.
I’m sorry my build was too big brained, but that doesn’t mean you screw someone out of their internet for hours.
Please start taking your reports and ratings seriously. Otherwise this game is going to collapse down just as fast as it built.
Uh...what?
Yeah, it sucks that you got DDOSed, but how in the name of flying kittens is this related to the current balance pouting?

Find where in my comment I said “DBD should have 0 cheaters just like any other game”.
4 survivors. 1 killer. It..it’s not rocket science. To have a q times that aren’t 10 hours long logic dictates that you need more survivors. Right now I would say there are more killers since SoloQ rn is unbearable but in general there are more survivors. Otz, Scott, JRM, a magnitude of streamers have already stated this lol.
Thats literally what I’m suggesting. What do you think I mean when I say “buff SoloQ?” Why should it not balance around SoloQ? Just add a scroll wheel and then done. Tf?
Yes NEXT update. How long will that take again?
Cool cool. And what’s stopping the Bubba from dosing the unhooker(s) then face camping the unhooker(s)? They just have invincibility against chainsaws now? Did I miss an update?
Mhm and how many times do you trade until you can’t?
You've completely shifted the goalposts here, so I'm going to call it.

So I played 14 matches the last two days and I survived only one. I was one hooked 8 times, two hooked 3 and only twice to get I get 3 hooked. The matched I survived I did 4 gens, the matches the gens completed I did 3-4 gens only to die to either a slugfest or just caught finishing the last gen. Only 3 of the matches the killer immediately hard tunneled at 5 gens(both times nemmie), the matches where 2-3 gens(which were about half my matches) got done the killer had 4 slowdowns and the matches went on forever.... The rest.. insta dcs or survivors one hooking themselves.
Around 5 of my downs were due to the killer having a lot of stacks of STBL and I couldn't get anywhere even if a pallet was very close by. I've run into a few killers just bloodlusting every pallet even when it's ultra safe ones. My two three hooks were Sadakos camping and we were way too alturistic. Feels much harder to punish camping by rushing gens when you can't coordinate it with your teammates.
Ultimately, it's just so painful to play from many areas that I might hold off on survivor a while till people settle down and some changes are made. I really like to be chased but it seems like I have to do all the gens as my teammates don't do them in order to escape and it's so boring. I played killer today with no slowdown except corrupt and.. I'm not being hyperbolic... It was very easy. I lost one game as Dredge cause it was my first time playing him and I had one perk(8 hooks tho)
A few things to keep in mind:
- Due to the incentives being killswitched, queue times and matchmaking are *all over* the place.
- STBFL is stronger now, but it's not insane. The second the obsession starts being aggressive, it becomes almost useless.
- While I'd love to see solo queue get some additional help, this game can't really be balanced around it. As long as SWF is a thing, that's going to be the matchup that gets balanced around.

I play enough to finish the tomes now, and that's it unless someone QOL improvements come to soloq. But If Rebecca Chambers is revealed as one of the survivors for the upcoming RE chapter then I'll probably get a second wind for a bit. I don't think it'll last long, but it'll be there.
The last match I had was a Dredge where no gens were done. I spent the entire match either unhooking and healing, trying to do 1 specific gen, or looping because he always came to my gen before I could finish it (on Garden of Joy). It was a waste of time and took over 15 minutes. Do you know what it's like to be in a 0-gen match for that long? While personally trying? Hell.
I can't deal with gameplay changes that made it so chases are shorter and gens take longer, on top of no info in solo. It's doable at times, bit it just feels bad. It's not even needing a mic like swfs, just small icons that tell what tasks others are doing. At least I'll know before ten minutes that no one is doing gens so I can gtfo, or see that it's worth it to keep giving my best for my team that match and for myself.
Shrug. My experiences are about the same as before. Some areas are harder, but unhooking is usually a lot safer (I think I'm seeing less killers camp). Gens take longer, but there are no more 'okay, Ruin is apparently invisible and lost us the game' moments.
Dredge is a solidly 'mid' tier killer.
Yes, this game is snowbally on both ends. You'll have survivor games where you slowly lose because the killer found a seam early, but you'll also have killer games where you get a pair of survivors abusing double locker flashlight saves, or a good sabo squad, or just people who know how to loop on a good map and you have no real path to winning.

It is an advantage as long as your ping isn't too high and your internet is stable you can just play a m1 killer and win every tile because you can swing through pallets and hit people seconds after they get dropped. It's also very hard to loop these killers because the true distance between you and the killer isn't as it seems throwing off hours of distance management. You have to drop a lot of pallets and drop them earlier.
Trust me, it's not. I sometimes have wonky ping when I travel, and even 400 or so makes it a crapshoot whether any hit is doing to land. Sometimes it'll be a hit I shouldn't have gotten, but just as often I'll whiff straight through someone and they suddenly teleport away.

I’m more of a munchkin man personality. It will, instead of worrying weather I have to unhook and leave the gen I will know. Same applies with totems. Will it fix the horrendous MMR system? No but the very very VERY few teammates that do have half of a half of a brain cell will know how to capitalize their time instead of wondering ######### anyone is doing. Now they know.
They probably won’t but it will help a lot more then absolute doing nothing and staying the exact same for years.
Oi Innit Krogie yes SoloQ was always weaker than killer. Been that ay for years.
2,3) what do you mean how? If you’re working on a gen you’re icon is a gen, if you’re on a totem your icons a totem. BOOOOOSH mind blown
4) Sure!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7c-hg4UKx0 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLwGw6eF04Y 3:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms5vRl4vrPM
5) When did I ever in my comments say “nerf killers” when. Please quote when I said “I want killers nerfed”. The ONLY thing I’ve said is buff SoloQ. Nah I’m getting trolled. Ok you got me. Haha. I really fell for. Good job I actually thought you were serious
Shrug. Yeah, it's clear we're getting nowhere - but note how I've been chill, and you've been the one freaking out?
Let's leave it there though.

If you add scroll wheel with icons that says what each survivor is doing it will not affect SWF WHATSOEVER. Literally weakened version of SWF communication. BOOOM MIND BLOWN
Yea that’s all anyone is asking for. What were you thinking we wanted? 1000% repair speed and infinite SB? Just give icons if a survivor is doing a gen/totem/healing.
Yea no duh vc is more powerful then SoloQ in any game. Who is saying it isint?
Just buff SoloQ with a scroll wheel. Nothing more complicated, it would make it 10x better. Idk why your complicating it like your trying to come up with String Theory it would take like a week at most to implement.
2,3) No it’s not. They can’t touch SWF but they can def touch SoloQ.
4) This a sad sad comment. “How do you buff the weakest role in game”. Idk reference the like 50 videos people have made that the community have agreed are good.
5) Except does not change SWF except DURR HURR 10 MORE SECONDS, buffs killer which is fine, weakens the majority of the player base. Not fine. It’s not rocket science.
6) Scroll wheel
7) You want asymmetrical games: Natural Selection 2, R6, Left 4 Dead versus. Too easy.
You want games in general: Apex, Rocket League, Mortal Combat 11
8) It was always killer sided. It was SWF, KILLER, SOLOQ. It’s been that way for years.
1) I can bet you, dollars to donuts, that when those icons come that it's barely going to have any effect - and that it won't stop anyone from QQing. Because the issue isn't just communication, it's assuming that people are actually going to listen. But as I've said, multiple times already, sure. Let's get those icons in.
2, 3) Outside of the status icons, how?
4) Name 3.
5) What? You need to make up your mind. Are you satisfied with the status icons, or do you want killers nerfed? I thought all anyone was asking for (provably untrue, with a quick glance at the forums) was the new status icons - so why are you complaining about the 10 seconds?
6) See 1.
7) Mainstream APVP games. Natural Selection 2 has less than 150 players, mate. Rainbow 6...Siege (I'm guessing) is not an APvP game in the sense I'm talking about. It's a hero shooter - and people complain about it's matchmaking all the time. Left 4 Dead versus is also not an APVP game in this sense, and as far as I know, has no skill based matchmaking at all. So...yeah.
Comparing a 1v1 fighting game, another hero shooter and...seriously, Rocket League to DbD is silly. AND people also complain about the matchmaking in those games constantly too, as a quick Google demonstrated.
8) Hah.
Hahaha.
AHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Okay, 'always killer sided' uwot mate?
I started this game in 2020. There were still spots on every single map where I couldn't pick survivors up. People constantly ran keys. DS was an extra life. Things were even worse before then (eternal sabos, anyone?).

Does not stop someone from doing it or making multiple accounts. No you don’t, just had a Wraith game Body-block someone the entire game, literally entire game more than 5 minutes and the Quintin still could not get out.
Does not stop people from doing it in the first place. It’s cool you can report them, just like you can report hackers yet for some reason there are still a huge problem with hacking. Almost as if reporting does absolutely nothing.
I guess SoloQ the majority of the player base just does not exist to you. Ok then what does a SoloQ survivor getting Bubba face camped sound to you?
It takes 4 minutes to bleed out. You’re really bad at this. At least you tried, A for effort
- No, you're being silly now. You may as well start saying 'well, hackers'. Duh, people will hack and find ways to exploit. All you can do is fix these where they can, and ban people. You can't 'fix' hacking, because, right now, it's a huge money industry and even companies that shell out for sophisticated, proprietary anti-cheats still end up with hackers.
- See above. Also, find me a popular, mainstream PC game that isn't primarily server side, that has zero cheaters/exploiters. I'll wait.
- Citation required. Who said that solo queue is the majority of the DBD playerbase? This game cannot, will not and should not be balanced around solo queue. I don't think any mainstream, serious APvP game is. Hell, some didn't/don't even have an option for solo queueing. We can certainly make it easier for solos to communicate, and that's basically it.
- Mori. Rework. I'm...not sure if you even actually read my response. This will be fixed in the next big update, so - moot.

Also what’s there to call out? “HES LOOKING AT ME HE’S LOOKING AT ME. HE’S STILL STARING, STILL STARING, STILL STAARING, STI-.” And ######### would any coordination with a Bubba or Iri head huntress, or Trickster face camping?
Facecamping needs a change, but you can still get around it (it's tough). The BT changes help, slightly, as does OTR.
Against a Bubba or a Trickster, you will need to trade - and it'll take coordination.

Wrong again it is not impossible. Bring SoloQ to the level,of SWF then buff killers accordingly. Everyone wins out. Also make an actual accurate MMR system that is not solely based on kills and escapes.
1) No #########
2) Just said a way to balance
3) WHO is saying to nerf killers? Just buff SoloQ
4) Or you can make it so ######### sides are happy with my suggestions above. And either way making the majority of the player base lose out does not seem smart. A player base who is playing the weakest role. Again, they are wearing the weakest role instead of buffing them. They already said they were going to buff SoloQ they just need a year for some reason.
5) The #1 way to kill your game is to cater to 1 group of your player base only. Not to mention it is the minority group.
6) Neither did I, or many others use DH. And it is 10x more miserable. Even if they did it does not change the fact that SoloQ objectively got worse regardless of MMR and DH users
7) Those games usually of good systems that can accurately measure your skill level. DBD does not.
8) Nobody likes an already weak thing in a game to get weaker. You’re acting like it was a good thing SoloQ got nerfed. While the killer did need the changes SoloQ needed them more. The kill rate was already balanced to being with.
You can't. Any buff to solos will also be a buff to SWFs. And BHVR have also emphatically said that they aren't going to be balancing solos and SWFs differently.
The best you can do is give solos better tools to communicate, but you're never going to get parity - because a coordinated team on voicechat is going to have significant advantages, and this is true of literally every PvP game I can think of. Even in terms of the fact that a coordinated group ensures that you won't get trolls and that everyone has a similar latency/mindset - there's no way to address that via buffs.
2,3) This is, as I said, impossible. Unless you can persuade BHVR to give different balancing to SWFs and solos, which they have specifically said that will never do, this point is moot.
4) How? Seriously, it's all well and good to say 'buff solos to the level of SWF', but how do you buff solos without giving any advantage to SWFs? Even baseline Kindred would still be a free perk slot for teams. Yes. I want the statuses to come sooner, but I'm also not confident that they will make much of a difference.
5) Firstly, this is aimed to cater to the *game as a whole*. Secondly, you need to back that one up, otherwise I'm calling bull. Killers aren't the minority group, most players at least sometimes play killer. Thirdly, so what if they are?
6) Yes, solo queue needs some love. But this has to be done in a way that won't influence the killer versus SWF matchup, and I'm not sure if that can even be done.
7) Name three.
8) I'm saying that the solo versus killer matchup becoming more killer sided was unavoidable, and that the other options were worse. Not that it was good. There is no easy fix for this issue. The only data we have on kill rates is gross kill rates, which are massively offset by extremely new players - which is why Nurse is, by the numbers, the weakest killer in the game.

NO, devs waiting months and years for stats to tell them what to do is what got dbd to the boring state it was in for years
they absolutely do not need to wait this long for obvious needed changes to be made and you should not be encouraging them to.
they buffed killer but didn't anticipate how solo q would be hurt by this? they talk about solo q buffs then put it on the back burner cuz appearntly a mori rework and other useless changes no one asked for are more important?
DbD has been constantly improving - even before 6.1.0, the killer meta was more varied than I think it ever was before. The survivor meta was stale, but that was because a handful of perks (DH in particular) were just so much better than all the other options, that not using them was playing the game wrong.
The devs have data that we don't have access to, and decided that the incremental changes weren't working, and that kill rates overall weren't as high as they wanted. This sort of data gathering takes time. If kill rates are too high now, then it needs to be fixed - but with things as chaotic as they are right now, there's no way to accurately get that data.
Define an 'obvious' change, here? About the only one I can think of is putting DS back to 5 seconds, maybe SC back to 50%.
More than that - I want to give the new meta a chance to settle, and for people to find their new, correct MMRs. Then we can start tweaking things again, because knee-jerk changes in response to forum kvetching is how we end up with silly things happening.
Regarding solo queue - let's see if I can explain this, because it's a tricky one.
- DbD has two factions. Killer and Survivor.
- Survivor is, in turn, also split into two factions. SWF and solo.
- This means that you've essentially got 2 potential matchups. Killer versus Solo (or at most duo) and killer versus SWF.
- It's almost impossible to balance these two matchups, as if you nerf killer/buff survivors to the point where solo versus killer feels right, killers will just get stomped flat by SWFs.
- Someone is going to lose out. That someone is either one entire faction, or a faction within the other faction (let's say half, for the sake of argument).
- Now, is it more fair for one entire faction to have a more difficult time, or for a part of the other faction to have a more difficult time?

I don't think it's too early. But that's just me and my experiences. I finally "lost" my first game last night after almost a week of changes. And it was on dead dawg (I think) as clown. Or clown on Gideon. I can't remember which. But it took me just being an idiot and allowing myself to constantly play main building. Because I had a hook, and minimum 2 survivors always around. Or having 25 pallets slammed in my face and not wanting to play the macro game.
So I can only give perspective of my own games and what it's like facing a killer like me. Which is brutal to begin with. I definitely think gens could go back to 80. And I don't even think you need to be a crazy killer to see how busted STBFL is right now. It just needs toned down slightly to compensate for speed boost loss and weapon wipe.
STBFL - maybe.
One thing to remember is that, especially at higher MMRs, a lot of people have been at least partially carried up past where they should have been by Dead Hard, and that this patch was a big shake-up to the survivor meta in general.
Some will adapt.
Some won't.
MMR should take care of it but it's going to take a while for people to find that correct MMR spot, and right now, with queues being borked and the incentives killswitched, it's going to be chaos for a bit.
If you were to make some immediate changes, I'd revert DS to 5 seconds and Self Care back to 50%. See what happens.

@BrokenSouI said:

There ARE changes that need to be made. Gens SHOULD go back to 80 seconds. The chase changes were strong enough. STBFL needs adjusted. DS stun needs to go back to 5 seconds. Or stay at 3 seconds and activate both hook states.
Yes and no.
Chase and gens - it's way too early to start making knee-jerk revisions. There has barely been any time for anyone to adapt, for any sort of definitive meta to emerge or to see what happens when incentives come back and queue times normalize, which will also help SBMM immensely.
DS, yes.

Does anyone know when we are getting the balance fix to the dreadful patch 6.10?
Hopefully this will happen tomorrow, isn't Tuesday the day for hotfixes?
6 months.
3 months for people to calm down and either leave, or adapt.
Another 3 months for a new meta to settle and for the devs to see what the numbers look like now.
Seriously, this Chicken Little-ing is completely ridiculous.
-
@ACleverName4Me said:
Even otz said this.
But seriously if the devs roll back the killer buffs for breaking and attack cooldown by 5% but keep the less speed boost as it is I think survivors would stop complaining
Or...we accept that, this being a gaming forum for a PvP game of any sort, people are going to declare that the sky is falling if you nerf anything, that a huge, seismic shakeup to the meta of the game is going to amplify this effect a hundredfold, that people will eventually calm down and adapt and that, once things stabilize over the next few months and the devs spend another few months gathering data as a new meta settles in, we can then start talking about the next balance changes needed.
Knee-jerk buffs and nerfs are how we wound up with Boil Over squads and the current state of Freddy.

The problem is that SoloQ has been losing. Weakest role in the game bro why does every killer pretend like they’re the hardest. They nerfed an already weak role which is the problem. How would you feel if next patch they nerfed killers twice meanwhile SWF get a 25% gen repair speed?
False analogy - you are comparing oranges to dolphins here.
- There are two factions in this game. Survivors and killers. Survivors are split between SWF and solo.
- Right now, it's proving to be impossible to balance between killer versus solo and killer versus SWF.
- If you nerf killers/buff survivors to the point where solo versus killer is balanced, then killers get crushed by SWFs.
- Someone is going to lose out.
- So there is a choice between half of one faction struggling and the entirety of the other faction struggling. Which is more fair?
- I'm escaping about as much as I was before the patch, but I didn't run Dead Hard. I suspect that a lot of people who ran DH for a very long time were at least partially carried by it, resulting in them winding up at a higher MMR than they were supposed to. It'll take a while for that to normalize, and until then, they will likely lose more games than they win.
- Like it or lump it, survivor is not a solo role. BHVR can and should give solos better tools to communicate, but playing with randoms in a team game and playing with a squad in a team game are always going to be vastly different experiences.
- Yes, we get it. Nobody likes being nerfed, even when those nerfs were 100% needed for the health of the game. Calm down, adapt, let BHVR get some actual data for a few months after things stabilize, then we can maybe start tweaking things.

The killer body blocking you in a corner, survivors playing hide and seek, getting face camped, getting slugged.
- Body blocking is bannable, and AFAIK you now lose collision after a bit.
- Hide and seek is also bannable, as 'taking the game hostage'.
- Getting face camped is not 'doing nothing', you should be calling stuff out on voicechat and preparing to go when your team moves in for the trade. It sucks, but it's not what you are describing.
- Bleeding out, again, will be fixed with the mori rework.
Your move.

Or we keep her as is and nerf her op Add-Ons? Her base-kit is fine, Nurse shouldn't get a total rework because people are too lazy to learn how to play against her
The thing is - even sans addons, Nurse is a problem killer, in that her kit basically unplays the game. She's just...impossible to balance, as if she's even slightly weaker, she ends up with a <30% kill rate, but if she's viable for your average player she becomes an unstoppable force of nature at higher MMRs.

Nurse having low kill rates doesn't mean much because she's not good on Switch or old gen. SupaAlf started on console and wouldn't be able to do what he's doing now if he hadn't switched to pc. PC Nurses are absolutely broken.
Which is why I said - Nurse needs a total rework. It's impossible to balance her as things stand.

This patch is just a scandal, the death of soloq, be prepared killers for your queues to increase in the coming weeks.
What?
No, I've said multiple times that Nurse and Blight need a look. The problem is that Nurse has the lowest kill rates in the game, so you can't just slap her with a massive nerf - this game isn't balanced around top MMRs in isolation. She honestly just needs a rework.
Blight is much simpler. Just nerf a few of his ridiculously OP addons.
I played a good amount of solo queue yesterday and it was fine. Better, in some respects. People need to relax, adapt and let the devs get some proper data. Once the dust settles, we can see where we stand.

So 99,99% of playerbase can't do anything against the broken Nurse, there is no skill in it, after 100 hours playing Nurse anyone can produce 50+ win with Nurse.
...Wat.
Okay, how did you get from 'a god tier player with about 5000 hours on Nurse can do crazy things' to 'Nurse always dominates' to 'anyone with 100 hours can get a 50 game winstreak'?
More importantly, I really want to see the data you're working off. Because, from the data we actually have access to, Nurse has the lowest kill rates in the game.

Something needs to be implemented tho as i am seeing it at least 3 times a night.
Eh...
It's annoying, but there isn't much you can do. It's also not an advantage - from the killer's POV, the survivors are teleporting around the map.

85% of killer roaster have a built in counter to looping.
90% of my defences against killers are tiles and loops which are countered by said killers.
The issue isn't them countering,it's them beign able to mindgame and stop looping at the same time with relative ease.
More so once a pallet dropped and it isn't a stun, goodbye freedom, you're going down in no time, there's barrely any line of sight blockers to consider juking and hiding so just BUY TIME..even 5 seconds.
And yea the SHIFT+ W meta was born because of necessity and not boredom,it was imo the last hope of survivor enjoyment...maybe a miracle stun pallet or line of sight...but no more of these, reduced MS remember?
I mentioned SWIFT + W because killers were complaining it became too strong and "boring" ,because running slow down builds isn't boring and overdone, freaking hypocrites.
The perks I mentioned,Dead Hard,Decisive,Balanced,Borrowed?
You're the one telling me I'm hyperbole, yet from PoV you're the one hyperbole DH & BL yet downplay BT and Decisive nerfs.
Sure the first iterrations of DS were unjustful awful and only when it became an anti tunneling did it any recognition as a good perk..
Borrowed Time had it's down when both survivors would get it...then it was ok..the new BT effects after unhooks?
AWFUL and short, not to mention the killer for some ungodly reason are STILL alerted that an unhook happened, even with BT the tunneling will be easy to do so,a bit of patience chasing another player and picking up the injured trails to tunnel him, that's how good tunnelers do it,atleast in my region.
Dead Hard wasn't able to freaking extend a loop to infinite unless you made multiple mistakes at which point it was a YOU issue and not a DEAD HARD issue, not OP,overrated and lack of better options, yes.
If you tell me like some killers did post "People realise SB is still good" I'll just ignore you..it's an awful exhaustion perk, has been and will be.
Balanced Landing on old Haddonfield was OP,man everything on OLD Haddonfield was OP,new one is so killer sided but it's no problem to you,I'm sure, especially when there are like 6 pallets and 2/3 of it are missing pallets or tiles, just a few houses with useless windows.
By mid 2019 there were no infinites, only huge loops remained of them, still bad but not as bad as before.
When I started, when clown and the shop were released, there were only 3 infinites left,a month after there were some changes and they became long loops, which were still OP..
I hate and I find it despicable that Killers think it's ok to nerf and balance around SWF!
Let's fcking balance killers around Blight and Nurse, sounds good?
I think you need to get out of your comfort zone, swallow that pride of yours and click PLAY SURVIVOR and I'll give you 5 days until you switch your opinion completely.
Where do I even start here?
- No, they don't. As TODP said, it's more like <70%. But that number barely matters, because most of those anti-loops are bad.
- No, they aren't.
- What BT nerf? I said that DS got overnerfed.
- I'm not sure if you get what 'hyperbole' means. It's not an insult, I'm just saying that you are exaggerating.
- Oh, you mean the original BT from ages ago? No, that was completely broken. Camping and tunneling need to be less attractive, but unhooks shouldn't be completely free.
- I don't tunnel, and think that it's too effective a strategy - but, at the end of the day, you have 3 teammates that could be running interference.
- No, Dead Hard could extend a loop by ages. For instance, on the Cow Tree loop on Cowshed - run the killer until they are close, then DH, drop the pallet, go to Shack.
- SB...dude, SB is an amazing perk. As is Lithe. They just aren't brokenly OP.
- I thought new Haddonfield was killer sided too, before I played it a little more. It's...not. There are some insanely strong pallets in amongst the cars, and some absolutely nuts vaults in the houses.
- There were still pseudo-infinites *this year* (go and watch Otz's Nemesis streak video to see the one on the old Haddonfield). There's still a potential infinite on Swamp.
- Why is that despicable? If you balance around solos, SWFs are unbeatable and all killers suffer. If you balance around SWF, solos have a tough time, sure - and yes, solos need help. But if SWF exists, you have to balance around it.
- Or...we could just nerf Nurse and Blight. A little.
- You can read my posts, going back a while. I play survivor and killer about 50/50.

Call of Brine, Overcharge, Jolt, Gift of Pain, Pain Resonance, Eruption, Corrupt, Pop. The META is already stale and it's not even a week old.
Dude, you just listed off a ton of perks. Before the patch, it was Ruin or PR. Sometimes Pop. Now I'm seeing Eruption, Overcharge and GOP. Yes, killers want some sort of slowdown, because that's how the game plays. Much as survivors want an exhaustion perk.
That's not a stale meta.
That's things getting remarkably better.
Ruin is bad now. Overnerfed, perhaps.
Corrupt is fine now.
Call of Brine is fine.
Overcharge is fine.
Jolt is fine, possibly even a bit weak.
GOP is fine, considering it's a SH build.
Eruption is fine.
The only perk on this list that needs a tweak is PR, because it's now an outlier in terms of power.

what if I tell you that right now stats must be showing a huge amount of dc'ing and killer "wins"?
what do you think should happen next?

What if I tell you that, unless you have the stats to show me, the plural of 'anecdote' is not and never will be 'evidence'?
I see lots of DCs and suicides.
Thing is - I saw just as many before the patch.
I suspect that this entire thing is 50% the equivalent of 'change this or I troll ur game' and 50% people seeing what they are looking for to support their position.

That doesn't matter. What matter is it's happening at a lot now, indicating a problem with game health.
No, it indicates that we need stronger penalties for DCing and probably something to stop suiciding. Basically every PvP game I've ever played had tons of ragequits, unless there was a strong penalty for doing this.

My point: "survivors could turn the table..."
That feeling is not there anymore. The match is set a lot sooner.
I totally disagree.
Survivors have plenty of strong options to help them in the endgame, as well as some new tools like baseline BT (allowing you to trade a lot easier).
A few nerfs were a bit heavy handed (welcome to killer life for the past 3 years) but most of them were fine, and will - once people stop it with the Chicken Little-ing and adapt - likely end up with a much healthier game overall.
