If you’re a PC players you can just adjust the lightness/brightness of the game. This makes it easy to deal with the issue.
I actually made a post on how PC players have advantages like this over console players recently.

I get a few reds in my greens (just after reset everything is screwy), but I don't have much trouble dealing with them. I'm having more fun and less toxic matches. There are some but rare. This makes things more fun.
It’s not really the players that are trouble I would say, more of the connection it seems. Especially on killer side.

grabs does not work anymore. dead hard is garbage because of latency. pc players has advantages over console players. i usually leave the lobby when i see a console player teammate. their controls are way different and their mistakes can get me depipped as survivor.
I do the same thing, if I see a console player and their gt already sounds like a noob then I’ll dodge. Usually I look at their time played and kills/escape ratios before I decide. But yeah I agree console players have a major disadvantage and most don’t even know.

Like @GoodBoyKaru said: If you owned the twitch shirts previously, you're going to keep them. If you didn't own them before, then they'll be gone in the future update as they weren't meant to be given out to everyone.
How does this differ from people who owned Legacy before versus those who don’t?
-
Console players won’t get anything. Look at the history of how they’ve treated us as console players, I would say things absolutely don’t look hopeful.

its not all that much of a downgrade tbf.
we got a lot more free stuff this year than the past two after all.
Hallowed Blight:
7 skins released, 5 Killer skins (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Huntress, Doctor) and 2 Survivor skins (Dwight, Claudette)
you could obtain 2 skins (= 6 individual skin pieces) for free, using the Event Currency, however the remaining 5 would be locked behind a paywall.
Hallowed Catalyst:
6 skins released, 5 Killer skins (Nurse, Hag, Clown, Spirit, Plague) and 1 Survivor skin (Jake).
you could obtain 2 skins (= 6 individual skin pieces) for free using the Event Currency, aswell as 1 skin from the Rift (Nurse). You could also obtain the Hallowed Blight skins with the event currency. that leaves 3 more skins locked behind a paywall.
Hallowed Curse:
7 skins released, 3 Killer skins (Legion, Ghostface, Blight) and 4 Survivor skins (Feng, David, Yui, Felix).
you can obtain 5 skins for free, using shards (Legion, Blight, Feng, Yui), 1 skin from the Rift (David) and 1 more for shards during the event duration (Felix - that one was an Auric Cells only skin before the discount dropped, so i dont know how they'll handle that once its over again).
that means, while the previous two events forced you to pay money to obtain most of the content they had with skins (out of 13 skins only 4 could be obtained with event currency and 1 from the rift. leaves 8 pay to get skins), this year 6 out of 7 skins are free (5 if you had to purchase the Rift, as it is in the premium track) - and the only reason why the last one is an Auric Cells only skin is due to it being licensed.
plus there is a discount AND a daily log in shard bonus during the event preiode that allows you to obtain them a lot easier aswell.
i really fail to see how this can be seen as a downgrade from the previous years.
the skins look dope, they are mostly free and we got more of an ingame event than last year, where we just had to hook ppl / do gens to get points counted towards our Event Currency.
Just because people have access to the skins through shards, does not mean people will be able to actually obtain them all.
The scenario is meant to make it seem like they can all be obtained for “free” because they are purchasable in shards, however, I’m willing to bet less than 1% of the population who play this game are sitting on that amount of shards to actually obtain all the skins.
Imagine a scenario where you can own 7 free movies that just release. However, in order to do this, you must watch a total of 7000 hours of movies or approximately 3500 movies in order to obtain the free 7 movies. It’s possible and could happen, but chances are that it won’t.
That’s the idea behind this “opportunity” which is actually just a scam in disguise if you stop and think about it.

There are 35 maps, and 17 different sizes for these maps, Ormond is tied 8th in size with 5 other maps which are Groaning Storehouse, Fractured Cowshed, Temple of Purgation, Family Residence and Sanctum of Wraith, none of these maps are considered "huge" maps.
I disagree. 6000 hours in the game and I would absolutely consider those maps “huge.” Throw in 110% speed killers, not to mention others who have to reload, set traps, crouch, etc. and it absolutely feels like a “huge” map.
-
Imagine the console players who have to watch an average of 6 hours of Twitch streams just to possibly manage getting the Dwight Charm.
-
Only devs get free skins, who cares about earning a skin and giving it away for free to everyone later.
Now go buy some more cosmetics pls so the devs can have a nice comfy Christmas dinner.

So, how are you going to determine who originally had or didn't had these so you could take it away from those who didn't earn them? And if you are going to find a way, which I am 100% certain in, why aren't you going to apply the same to legacy and event skins, because I'm also 100% certain you wouldn't?
Because finding who had and didn’t have legacy takes time and money since it goes WAY back, which BHVR’s financial accountants have determined it would cost more money than it is worth. Until a newer easier way appears in the future that is, such as an advancement of technology of some sorts.

Sounds like you haven’t adapted to Slinger yet. Try dropping the pallet and making distance.

Also I’d like to point out that the devs “took a step back” to change Pyramid Head because he wasn’t “fun” to play against and wanted to make him more “skill based.” I’m gonna go ahead and ask, why didn’t you change Midwich if it isn’t fun for Killers to play on? You might as well since you revisited the Silent Hill chapter like you said you did.
Kinda reminds me of how PGTW got changed but not DS.
-
He was gutted.
Here is how the list goes of reworked killers to make them more “skillful and fun”
Nurse
Billy
Pyramid Head
Next on the “more fun to play” list will be:
Deathslinger
Spirit
Freddy
Mark my words. 😐

It'd be an amazing change for newer-medium tier players as it'd help them actually get somewhere. It'd not matter for those in the higher end.
I disagree that “it wouldn’t matter for those in the higher end.” I have every perk in the game on ever character, it took me a really long time to accomplish that by grinding just like everyone before me did. If they made it so easy for everyone to get to that level, a lot of veterans would be upset, perhaps more upset than handing out legacy.

Break the Wall. It takes 2 seconds, and afterwards the Building is quite weak, since they also removed the Pallets.
Once again you’ve failed to see the ramifications of the issue, breakable walls, which was the concern the entire time.
-
Have you read the lame excuse they gave for nerfing PGTW?
The nerf they gave it was actually the nerf people have wanted to happen for DS, yet they apply the nerf to PGTW instead with the claim, “killers had too much time to do things in between using PGTW and other objectives....” nobody complained about PGTW like they did DS.
If that doesn’t speak, “survivors spend more money on this game so they are priority” then I don’t know what does.

@RaSavage42 said:
Yea... it does
Are you positive, any way of confirming this?

If anyone on PC thinks they have it just as bad, I encourage you to try to play Demogorgon on console, throw on a reworked map just for extra pain. Your eyes will bleed away and tear from their very sockets with all the fps drops and auto-aim at every object in nearby vicinity.

Actually bhvr is a small indie company, which I'm pretty sure means it's just mcote and like 2-3 other people all living and working in his car. Anyway we need to buy more skins or they'll have no food this Christmas, let alone presents. Or have you no heart, good sir?
This actually cracked me up
-
For a game that has had its biggest revenue year since launch, you would think they would offer the same amount of earnable skins as when they had less money
It’s how the rich stay rich I guess.
-
You’re looking at this all wrong, anyone who accuses the devs of “only nerfing killers” is.
The reason I say this is because killers aren’t the ones who spend the most money on this game, it’s survivors. They’re the cash cows. Why do you think SWF was never addressed after FOUR years? Because statistics show that people are more likely to spend money on a game if they enjoy it with companionship (SWF).
Survivors always get nerfed, however, they get nerfed last. They hold the changes off long enough until the killer base drops, so they end up changing things so killers come back or don’t all leave. The reason is obvious, no killers, no survivors playing with friends, therefore no revenue being generated.
-
It’s console, they never fix issues on here. The way bugs get fixed are either by general patches for all platforms or by some accident that wasn’t targeting any actual fix but happened to do one anyways.
That’s why I always advocate people to spend their money wisely on this game, especially for console players.

You are a funny guy. If we compare the Range of the two Perks, why not compare the strength as well? Discordance is way stronger than Empathy.
Also, a Standard Killer without increased mobility would not go to a Gen which is more than 96 meters away anyway. This would be over 20 seconds of walking.
Discordance is stronger than Empathy? I would like to say they both were balanced as is.
Comparing range is absolutely a legitimate argument, however, you trying to compare strengths even in a metaphorically sarcastic way proves absolutely nothing except filling space in a box of text.
So hypothetically speaking, since you made the comment, “Also, a Standard Killer without increased mobility would not go to a Gen which is more than 96 meters away anyway.” In a situation with 3 gens left, which happens quite often, 2 gens in close proximity and 1 97 meters away, there’s no reason I should “go to” the gen, right?
I’m glad you found my reasonable aura-reading concern as “funny” though :)

Why bring Empathy into this?
Empathy was changed from Unlimted range to 128m. Discordance was changed from Mapwide to 98m.

It's intended that tier 3 is mapwide. They reduced the size of maps earlier this year; 96 m is mapwide,
128m is mapwide. 96m is not.
-
Meanwhile Empathy keeps its full map range. Good to know where the devs prioritize their player base.

You know like everyone else that old Maps did not get reworked when it comes to Totem Spawns yet. Once they got their graphical Update, Totem Spots are better.
Your Build tho...
What about my build? Is there something impractical about gen defense?
-
I only experience this if there is a Mori, an Adept, or the killer has 3 gens pop by the time the first hook takes place.
Conversely, In my experience, PC killers are the most sweaty. They will camp even when there is only 1 gen completed. They aren’t afraid to use Eboni’s after 1 hook or pair it with NOED and a Pinky Finger, Infinite Tier 3, etc.
I will say this, even though it deviates a bit from the topic, PC survivors make higher IQ decisions than console survivors do, by a long shot.

Was removed because, once again, Hackers abused it to give Streamers long Matchmaking Bans. So "thanks" to those Hackers, I guess.
"People DC’ing at the loading screen for map offerings or Mori’s."<---this was never penalized by the DC-Penalty.
It is penalized on console for some reason.

Unless they compensate players who have everything unlocked with Legacy or something I don’t see that being okay.

You can have stuff like that in your name on switch though
I’ve never seen a red rank switch player, the movement and skill seems too good to be from a Switch platform as well.
I have the Switch version, it’s almost impossible to mimic that movement at 10-15 fps.

Underscores, period icons, backslashes, etc.

I only have it turned on to play with my girlfriend and my girlfriends sister who is on switch. Any other time it is off as lobby times are not better and the frame rate and lag is horrible.
Haven’t seen you in a while.
Also OP I have it turned off as Killer, simply to support the console players who have it turned off as well, plus my queue times as Killer are instant no matter what. If I leave it on as Killer, I seem to get mostly PC survivors.
-
@Aneurysm said:
Those of us on console, yeah. On PC I'm pretty sure the killer queue takes longer.
Killer queues are only longer in the morning from 8 A.M. PST until 1 P.M. PST. After that the queues for killer drop significantly for the rest of the 20 hours of the day. Even on PC.
-
@OBX said:
Don’t hold your breath. It took 9 pages to get a dev to respond about console frame issues.
This is exactly why I turned crossplay off when I play Killer (to not give PC survivors even faster queue times) and why I don’t buy cosmetics.
-
Anytime the word ‘Console’ is used on a forum or any kind of argument in general, it goes ignored by the devs.
Why do you think we (Xbox) were the test dummies to make sure MMR worked correctly?
-
Or it shows you that your buddy is in the game pregame lobby with you but he/she is actually not.
This happens everyday on console. I don’t see the devs caring though, look how they ignore the recent fps drop post with hundreds of comment simply because it’s console.
-
I was wondering this too, not surprised if it’s a lan unintentional bug though.
-
Never seen a Killer have 2 funerals in a row. RIP my boy
-
Yeah, I never really ran it for the bloodpoints to begin with, that was always the cherry on top.
That being said I do run it in most of my builds, but may replace it with Thrilling Tremors if I want to sweat some more and protect gens.
-
Still no comment from a Mod..Am I missing something?
-
The only thing MMR has done was fix survivor queue times.
Do you remember that triangle where the devs showed the significance of a problem queue times were the most important. Next to balanced matches and I forget the third one.
MMR is just faster survivor queues, go back a year or so and look at their triangle example.
-
I checked with Legion. I performed a Mori animation on a survivor and we got a glimpse of what was inside the bathroom stall.
Unfortunately, the stall was empty. There wasn’t anyone/anything inside.
-
I feel like they just need to hand this game over to some devs/company that will extend the life of the game as much as possible. It seems like the devs keep losing at a lot of opportunities by making very flawed decisions in the longevity of this game.

And? This same thing has been happening to killers for much much longer. New killers going against red rank SWF.
By choosing to offend OP you’ve entirely missed the point of the post. I’ll reiterate it for you in simpler text:
New MMR is meant to fix disparities in skill, so far, it has not. It has been running in the background for weeks/months now, according to the devs.
The ranks shown have had strong correlation to the players skill and although ranks are all we have proof of, we can see the differences in skill when we’re playing in the actual game. Therefore, the end game ranks make sense as to why their skills are so bad/good.

People think that not being able to escape every single game means solo queue is unplayable. They get so used to the free escapes from their 4 man spoon fed info SWF that when they don't have it the game becomes "unplayable".
Another person who makes extreme suggestions based off a legitimate concern. Tell me oh wise one, how do one of these survivors manage to escape then?

Advanced in the realm of statistics means evaluating anything beyond simple wins and losses. So yes, in this case it is advanced. 10 games is your starting point. But it's not the average of all players relative to average playtime relative to opponents. That will take time to determine. Much longer than 10 games for each player. I think the devs really need to explain this in detail.
I know what statistics are and what you’re implying in “advance” are all the variables that we aren’t accounting for. You cannot use that as an argument as you nor I (only devs) know what those variables are.
Maybe you need to see this because 10 matches is only for beginners, they’ve been tracking our MMR long before the new system was up and running.
-
Depends, really. Many people will run out of instinct as a mud phantasm shows up in form of the Hag along with a terror radius.
Another reason is, if you hear a survivor scream while they unhook you, it’s because Hag is running Make Your Choice, which makes the person performing the unhook action marked with an Exposed status effect for up to 60 seconds.
