I’m thinking survivors are gonna have a fun time with extended queues
-
Hopefully it’s a surprise change just like the Mori’s
-
It goes in your unused inventory of perks. With MMR on the way, it’s not even worth a perk slot in high ranks.
-
Let me just move this post which makes clear and valid points that disagree with us milking our cash cow survivors.

Get over yourself.
Meanwhile BBQ is still going strong for like 3 years now.
MoM was a cash grab, if you were there during the time you would understand. If you have any sense of how marketing works you would also understand.

Ruin & Undying paired with Tinkerer was way more troublesome than DS.
HAHAHAHA Yeah more troublesome than DS/Unbreakable/Soul Guard which remain unchanged.... hold on I’m not done laughing... HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

On the contrary, I understand what you were trying to do there quite clearly. You complained about DS/Unbreakable/Soul Guard in general, and then presented a highly specific scenario (A. Playing an M1 Killer on Haddonfield, B. Getting DS'd, C. Next to a specific building on the map) as if it proved your point, ignoring the obvious problem that said scenario is so stupidly rare that it doesn't even begin to make sense as a recognizable argument for your original point that those perks are bad in general. Unless you think DS somehow always creates that scenario. Which isn't too much of a stretch; you suggested slugging as a counter to Unbreakable/Soul Guard, so it's a fair conclusion that you don't understand how these perks actually work.
Your so focused on the example I gave you failed to realize that DS can potentially do this on ANY map. The settings aren’t important as the perk in the survivors hand. You give DS to a rank 20 they won’t know what to do with it, you give DS to any competent rank 1 you’re guaranteed to lose all momentum. Sounds like you’re defending something that is broken, maybe you need to learn how these perks work before suggesting feedback.

Right. I love when I DS a killer and they turn into an M1er on Haddonfield. The best part of the perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1858832#Comment_1858832
Yes? At this point you're complaining about having to play the game.
Turn into an M1 killer? Do M1 killers not already exist to you? What game are you playing cause I think you’re clearly misunderstanding the point here.
-
@Science_Guy said:
The counter is picking them up.
I don't know how you some killers still don't know this, but you can just down someone again after they DS you.
Yeah let me just eat your DS as an M1 killer on Haddonfield while you gain 20 meters of distance and make it to the House of Pain cause we all know that’s balanced.

Yes, they were too easy, even for Pig. The survivors probably got one gen done at best in those games.
Well obviously, who’s gonna be looking for a hex when they have to take a helmet off. The priorities are clear there.
Btw pig is the only killer who can objectively force survivors to complete a different task other then gens.

@GannTM said:
Ruin/Undying was too much of an issue and I’m glad the devs are looking into it. Imo, Ruin was never issue by itself, it’s Undying that needed the change.
I really like the change as it removes the RNG factor and you can’t cleanse Ruin 4 times anymore which was so annoying.
Thrill of the Hunt can now see a use again. Current Undying is basically a much better tracking tool while also having the totems respawn. So why would anyone ever run Thrill of the Hunt over Undying?
I play both sides almost equally, maybe a little bit more of killer, and it’s way too annoying to go against and when I play killer, the games are too easy. I only ran this combination on 3 Pig game ever and that’s about it. I decided to not run it again as it was too broken and gave me easy wins.
The games are too easy? If you’re playing as Spirit, Blight, Nurse, or Billy yeah you can defend the totems. In fact, you don’t even really need them so much for the female killers.

Haha I saw your comment about the blights PoV on the other post I actually voted it up cause it was pretty accurate 😂
-
Don’t forget, there’s also built in second chances for survivors such as 4% off a hook and the hatch :)
-
Clown got a buff? His gas can make survivor faster now... You literally can’t make any mistakes with your tonic bottles now as it speeds up the survivors
Trapper buff? Instead survivors now have a more consistent chance of escaping.
Wraith? Yeah but good survivors will be able to discern his location based on where he is not at the time.

All of those killers are still strong, though...
But they are not fun to play as, that’s the problem. The same person in charge of balancing these killers is the same guy who said OoO wasn’t a problem.
-
It’s all good, that’s the dev philosophy: nerf a killer into the ground until survivors don’t see them anymore.
Happened to Nurse, then Billy, then Pyramid Head... who’s next?
But don’t worry, they’ll revisit Nurse in a year to fix her dead zones on the old maps while she has more dead zones on the new maps!
-
Yet they expect you to compete with Survivor/Killers who have up to 120 fps and close to zero performance issues on PC.
-
Survivor queues times are longer between those times so that’s normal. Killer queue times should be instant. What region are you in?

We in America, are not a true democracy. We are a Republic based on a constitution. In this Republic, we can have personal opinions.
Now that's out of the way, u can go discuss w whoever u want to discuss, my opinion is that u should go discuss the subject with the Topic Creator as he is the one who created this thread to have such discussions.
What I'm saying is that yes, I agree, that matchmaking sucks.
Although it is debatable the target is still democracy, nowhere does appointed officials for lawmakers concern a republic for a long-term reign.
Now, yes the matchmaking sucks, however I will ask once again, please discuss your reasoning.

I can get extremely long survivor queues and extremely fast killer queues no matter the time (including middle of the night). Still, SWF is the issue, and outside of "lol I like having the difficulty totally ramped up" no one can give a reason for them
Yup same here, Survivor takes anywhere from 1-10 minutes throughout the day. While killer is instant around the clock. North America of course.

Plz explain to me what this has to do w democracy, cuz I'd like to hear about that.
And if u want to 'discuss' the issue, than just simply 'discuss' the issue as ur point is to simply complain in hopes that the devs will listen to u, with no other meaning or substance, as a result, is a pointless discussion.
Well in democracy, if you’re unaware, you’re entitled to an opinion and to defend that opinion and bring it up as long as you want. In other forms of gov, you aren’t always.
Now that that’s out of the way-asking em to discuss the issue when you yourself are the instigator of this entire non-discussed circumstances is a bit hypocritical.
Now let’s discuss, what is your proposal to fix the solution, since you were the first one to comment?
-
So it’s not uncommon to run into DS/Unbreakable and the counter to this is boring for both sides.
My suggestion is that Unbreakable shouldn’t show your aura to other survivors while it still has the ability to pick yourself up from the dying state.
The same for DS, your aura should not be revealed to other survivors while it is still on a timer

That point has been discussed, disected, argued, mentioned, complained, over and over and over and over and over, that it got to a point having yet, another conversation, is where I don't get the point of having this conversation, yet again.
That’s the point I was trying to make, please try to understand. If people stopped talking about it, then the problem may continue to be ignored. To bring it up often, continues to tell the devs to stay focused on the issue.
If you’re tired of seeing people complain about things that still need fixing, maybe democracy isn’t for you.

There are 2 servers in EU. Frankfurt and London. I should've specified I was referring to Frankfurt.
Frankfurt as in Frankfurt, Deutschland correct? Here in North America, my friends from across the country experience the same thing as me, so we end up playing other games rather than waiting in queue times as survivor
-
@Seanzu said:
My survivor queues are near instant all day up until night time and then the times even out, they're about 20 - 30 seconds at that time.
If you play at a set specific time most days then you're always going to see the same "type of lobbies", if i played early morning where I am, my killer lobbies are always 4+ minutes and my survivor lobbies instant, if I play mid afternoon, both my survivor and killer lobbies can be either fast or slow, at night time, around 7+PM my killer lobbies are faster than my survivor ones but my survivor ones are by no means long.
What part of the world do you live in? Because it is the exact opposite for us in North America

It must be a regional thing. In EU survivor queues are almost instant in the morning and still very good in the afternoon.
Killer queue times are the reverse and in the mornings waiting up to 5 min is not uncommon.
What part of EU, I don’t suppose you speak for all of Europe?

@noctis129 said:
This topic has been discussed so many times. I'm not sure what the point of this conversation is.
Yea matchmaking sucks.
The point of this conversation is probably one of the most important to be said. If the devs continue to ignore their playerbase with poor matchmaking and and even worse “MMR” then you might not find a lobby one day when you queue up as survivor.
-
Killer queue times used to be about 2-4 minutes in the day time (around 6 A.M. - 10 A.M. PST) then they would be instant from anytime between that.
Now, killer queue times are instant around the clock, I can’t say the same for survivor queues.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Behaviour needs to sell this game to a bigger company before they sink it themselves.
-
Inb4 survivor mains try to justify this game...
aww too late they already have

I mean do you find holding m1 fun? Nobody else does, and that's all you're doing to counter Ruin+Undying. How are survivor complaints about this perk combo not justified? It's literally just running around a map holding M1, you don't even have skillchecks on totems. If you have Detective's hunch/ a map etc you're running up to a small pink aura then holding M1, what part of that is fun to you?
There’s nothing wrong with breaking totems. It’s been in the game forever, Ruin/Undying is just an excuse for survivors to not replace perk slots, just like noed.
-
Survivors can counter Ruin/Undying if they too replace their precious perk slot for an anti totem build.
The real reason survivors complain is because they refuse to give up a perk slot for something they consider “unfun”
-
I can play as killer on WiFi with 10 devices connected at once while streaming Netflix and land ridiculously questionable hits.
Do I think hit validation is active? Yes. Do I think it’s exaggerated on how it’s supposed to work? Absolutely.
-
Can’t show you something that doesn’t really exist
-
MMR is just fast gens in my opinion, some “skill” mixed in but the way to measure skill is completely unreliable in this game due to the insane amount of variables.
-
They should also add the first ever exclusive line to the Clown when he does a Mori, where he says: “It’s finger-lickin’ good”

unhide your stats on Xbox or take a screenshot and show us. Otherwise you’re just “A kIlLeR mAiN bTw”

....
-
Most generic small pp meta build and you’re still crying. I swear survivor mains need to play killer for a week to learn.
-
I wouldn’t say better, but I do notice that gens seem really efficient lately. Like, Ruin/Undying is being adapted to quite well.
-
the devs refuse to address SWF and are afraid to mention anything revolving around it.
-
Have you asked why the queue times are so bad? You should begin there, you’ll find the answers that you’re looking for.

No-one complains because spirit can't be looped, otherwise everyone woudl be complaining about nurse far more.
The fact that you said tournament spirits shouldn't be taken into account because they are an outlier shows that ur idea of balancing killers is around mediocre and bad players. Sorry but GOOD stridor spirits will not be beaten unless there is a 4man coms involved or they mess up terribly.
And do you even play this game? You realize the only reason people don’t complain about Nurse is because a good Nurse is very rare. THINK ABOUT IT :)

Look at you putting words in my mouth again because I don’t put the top 0.005% of Spirit’s in the data for consideration of Stridor then that only leaves mediocre Spirits, no in between just black and white. You really should think about stuff before you type it out. And well there you go you answered your own question, the top 0.005% can beat the top 0.005% what do you know.
Try using comprehensive skills before you type. I swear some people just argue to argue they don’t realize what they’re saying half the time.

So ur saying that because bad and mediocre spirits can make mistakes that spirit is balanced? You don't even have to be a tournament level spirit to dominate with stridor, you just need to know how to play the game. How are you supposed to mindgame someone who can pinpoint ur location through auditory sounds at all times?
When did I ever mention bad Spirit players? I swear some people on these forums really need to learn how to read. It’s people like you who interpret things in their own narrative that makes these forums as bad as they are.
Spirit-Stridor can be beaten, you’ve done it, I’ve done it, anyone can do it. People don’t like the challenge that comes with that build though. That’s the reason everyone complains. They can’t loop Spirit like any other M1 killer. Make sense now?

Have you ever vsed a tournament spirit with spacial sound? i don't think so. Good like trying to confuse one.
Is the average Spirit player one of them? No, i don’t think so. Good job trying to skew data to the less than 1% though.

You're comparing Iron Will to the context of a killer who's absolute BS. Spirit gives no indication or input to the survivors with no information while she has all the info she needs. Stridor Spirit is completely uncounterable. Is Iron Will that game-breaking? You know the answer. Also, don't tell me what I have and don't have to learn. I have almost 3k hours in Dead by Daylight but it doesn't take that much experience to see how unfair Spirit with Stridor is. You're literally comparing a perk to something just as broken as old mories. Very laughable.
Also, what "Level" are you talking about? OP is literally talking about Stridor Spirit alone. What are you setting the bar to? Comp games? Rank 1 SWF games? because not everyone in the game plays in 4 man SWF Deathsquads. A lot of players are solo queue and with that flawed logic to balance everything around 4 survivors all on comms, that leaves solo players in the dust which is pretty ridiculous. Seems like you have a lot to learn.
Cool I have over 5K hours but it doesn’t matter. If you can’t adapt to Spirit Stridor then you already peaked a long time ago. Try to learn how to actually play against her and reread my first post.
-
@Zayn said:

See, I've always hated the argument of "Just use perks to counter this" You shouldn't need to run a perk to counter 1 of the killers on the large roster. That is very bad and ignorant advice. Stridor Spirit is un-counterable. Can't change that fact. Once you're injured, you are dead unless the Spirit player is not using headphones.
I play both sides so I'm being completely unbiased. Spirit is unhealthy for the game in herself and then putting Stridor is just insult to injury.
Isn’t Iron Will arguably uncounterable if it wasn’t for Stridor? How do you reason that logic?
Also it sounds like you need to play more of both sides. You still don’t realize this isn’t a 1v1 anymore, not at this level. A killer like Spirit is going to take 4v1 to win. You have a lot to learn still.
-
The FPS feels better, but it will be limited to the type of monitor/tv you’re playing on. It’s not quite as smooth as PC, but I would say it gives lower end PC’s a run for their money.
-
@indieeden7 said:
This perk is awful on all but one killer (Spirit) and it literally makes her uncounterable, surely it should be made more useful for all other killers and toned down for Spirit?
Another survivor main wanting killer nerfs because they refuse to adapt. Try actually using perks to confuse her, i.e. Quick and Quiet, Deception, Diversion, etc.
You can’t run around the same loop and expect the same outcome with every killer.

The dude sent himself to Midwich and tried playing forever Freddy in 2020 when those add-ons do almost nothing anymore. Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/BBQ Freddy is way stronger than that. Also no BBQ means you're guessing what gens are currently being worked on after you hook someone, so pop isn't all that useful unless you scour the entire map and remember where everyone is (which, on Midwich, you're definitely not gonna be doing that). That's not a good build at all
As long as everyone is injured he automatically had 28% regression to gens. That’s 22.4 seconds longer for a gen to be completed.
Keep in mind this is NOT counting any Dying Light stacks in the process.
