  • Why nerf what we have the tools to deal with already?

Seriously, this whole "Nerf it because it presents a challenge" trope is just getting out of hand.

  • You know, I'm a big enough girl to admit i overreacted when the nurse nerf was announced, and i don't even play the lass. I mentioned something about the devs caving, mostly because i really haven't had that much trouble playing against her.

But at the end of the day, i also realise I am one person, and since i play on console even i have to grudgingly admit that there is likely a significant difference between playing against her on console than on pc.

I try very hard to stay away from the killers Vs Survivors meta when it comes to nerfs and buffs because i think its an ugly part of the forums that belongs in the game and in the game only. But again, I'm big enough to say I got caught up in it in the heat of the moment without really thinking about it.

You really need to stop acting more dramatic than a Gone with the Wind special, at least until the rework has actually happened. Especially when your only argument to reasonable discussion is "You won, no use arguing"

Ultimately a killer or survivor can complain about anything, but unless it is their actual hands making the changes, it's down to the devs and their decisions.

Am i worried they might overdo it? Of course, but i'll do what i should have done and wait until it actually happens before giving a final verdict.

  • Play how you want to, it's a game.

Ignore the made up rule books, ignore people telling you how you SHOULD be playing whether that is nice or nasty, because its your choice at the end of the day and as long as you are having fun....well the opposite would be fairly bloody pointless.

I don't care what perks you use, or addons, as long as you aren't a toxic tit who can' win or loose like a grownup then its all cool with me.

Personally i don't camp because I get more BP from multiple hooks. I don't tunnel but i'm not going to let you go if you run straight into me again. Does this make me better than you? No, it just means i prefer to play my own way.

I've had killers and survivors be toxic towards me, but I sure as hell won't let that change my nature. I do things my own way, i have my 'own' rules when it comes to what i consider fair when facing an opponent on either side. I don't expect people to follow my way, but neither will I be forced into playing by someone else's code.

I'd rather have fun and possibly loose, than feel like king d**k on Big E Peen mountain for playing sweaty.

As for anyone with an opposite philosophy....you do you, it's a game at the end of the day.

Your mistake is assuming that you have to do all the totems.

    THERE ARE FOUR SURVIVORS

If everybody did at least one totem, the most you'd ever have to do is 2.

Problem is, ya'll are too lazy to do your optional objective, then you get mad when it comes back to bite you in the ass.

    This. Exactly this!

I run into 2, maybe even 3 dull totems every game when not even looking for them, i cleanse them on the way. If every survivor did that then you wouldn't even have to look for the damn things, just cleanse what you see.

If NOED activates, I take it on the chin, we failed a secondary objective, perhaps because we just didn't find all the totems or perhaps because people decided it wasn't worth it and getting the gens done asap was more important.

If NOED procs i don't panic. I go looking for that glowing skull because NOED activating doesn't mean the end if you are smart about it.

I've lost count of the matches where we saved someone from a hook while they were being camped by a NOED killer (and no I'm not condemning this tactic because why the hell wouldn't you camp your bait at end game?) all we had to do was find the totem.

Killers are here to kill and they will use every means possible. You have the means to preempt and prevent the perk. The choice to do so or not, is on you.

I uh... Wasn't the OP. I was also agreeing with you mostly. My issue is people picking over perks one sidedly and not looking at how the two different roles interact with each other. Hell, I even advocated not touching Adrenaline in a post before that.

My apologies dude, haven't been awake long and we all goof from time to time.

    *has an embaress*

There is a lot of the one sided picking over of perks/addons which is why the vulture like behaviour really does just breed a certain sense of apathy amongst the people who really just want to get on with the game.

Don't get me wrong, in some case, something game breaking does need a nerf. But this constant of "Well our side got this nerf so when does their side get one" or "We got rid of this, now lets move on to this one now more are using it" needs to stop being catered to. On BOTH sides.

  • @Ark_the_Bonsai said:

I just want people to sincerely discuss why certain perks are healthy/unhealthy instead of treating it like some weird kindergarten turf war where civil conversation is impossible. So far this post has been mostly okay.

You do you, but you asked for an opinion and I've given mine :)

I try and see both sides fairly, playing both sides helps. But if it isn't one thing it's another when it comes to which perk/addon is needing the nerf bat for which side this particular month.

I hold no animosity to this thread, but some of us are just jaded by now.

  • I wouldn't.

But then I'm tired of watching both sides pick over the other sides perks one by one like vultures.

  • Oh please do keep demanding, its....well its funny...kinda like watching a toddler scream over a dropped ice cream...

  • Everyone is entitled to an opinion here. Period.

If you are tired of seeing the same posts, avoid them. It's very simple and far more logical than asking for a restriction that has far too many holes to be at all viable.

I remember a while back when some people here thought they would start posting threads that "Only Veterans" were allowed to reply in. That went down about as well as a fart in a spacesuit if i remember rightly.

I can't see an idea like this faring any better.

Yikes. I remember this happening to my sister on a different game (Vainglory) where she destroyed the other team, and someone friended her and told her "You suck" and other bad stuff and left. Bad people that makes bad decisions.

I caught all three of them around a gen, downed one. Then the other two tried to tag team me. One trying to 360 distract, the other trying to get the friend up.

Needless to say it ended in 3 downs and subsequently, 3 DC's.

Guess i have a LOT to learn.

  • @Ember_Hunter said:

Someone would friend you just to do that? Disgusting.

Yep, had a few do this to my spirit because i caught and downed them two minutes into the game. They DC'd, realised i had my messages turned off and friend requested me to tell me to "Learn to play"

Some people are obsessed with swinging their e-peen about.

Well, I don't have an issue with what hag can do, more like I don't like it when survivors just sit on traps while taking down totems. That's all. : /

Don't believe I mentioned you did. My post underlined an opinion that the hag was not weak and my reasons why i believe this.

    *Shrugs*

  • I have to agree with @ASAPTurtle here. Hag really isn't weak in the right hands. Smart trap placements and a good set of perks (freaking love M&A) can make life very hard for even high rank survivors.

Not to mention, while survivors do know to crouch, they only really seem to do so in the obvious spots, Ive lost count of the amount of 4k games i've gotten because survivors only crouch their way to 'safe zones' and run the rest of the way. And if i see a flashlight in my lobby, franklins takes care of the issue most of the time.

Different survivor playstyles on other platforms might be a thing I guess, but I just don't see the hag as being weak.

Your idea might well work, I won't dispute that, but I wouldn't count on it working longer than it takes for survivors to figure out some kind of counter, the smart ones (and there are some) usually do. It might be something to suggest to the devs however, can't really hurt.

  • Don't worry, spirit will be next once the devs have finished caving to demand on nurse. Then maybe Billy and so on and so on.

Don't get me wrong, same thing happens to survivor perks/mechanics from the other side. Its a non stop thing that will never changed because its been proven that if you scream loud enough, you will eventually be catered to.

As I have said before, some things do need a nerf, other things just required adapting, but i guess that might require actual effort so instead, nerf it.

I used to have trouble against nurse, nowdays i'm pretty good at avoiding her because i found ways to work around her. Nurse being OP is not the issue from my own viewpointof several games, its people not wanting to play a certain way.

  • Sometimes i wonder if people want to actually play this game or were just too lazy to create their own and now just ceaselessly pick apart every aspect of DBD until it is to their satisfaction, which will never happen because everyone wants different things.

Never really had an issue with either of these perks, they just appear to be next in line for the "I WANT" crew

  • Stealth IS a counterplay, I use it against nurse a lot. If you don't like using stealth then that's all well and good, but you don't get to invalidate an entire viable counterplay just because you don't like using it.

We got the same drivel with NOED's counter because "It slows down the game destroying totems"

I'm not getting into the argument over who is op or not because i made my thoughts on that very clear. But I am so very tired of seeing actual counterplays dismissed because certain people don't use them.

You don't HAVE to use them. But you do not get to say they don't exist because you personally don't like it.

  • Honestly, the only thing you reasonably can do, is accept that they are going to learn the hard way.

Everyone has a different play style, some of them work better for each individual. Though i would highly suggest not healing in front of pallets, that's pretty much bound to go wrong and really does sound like they have been watching way too many youtube vids.

  • @George_Soros said:

Pixie, the OP is hugely exaggerating, and even those few occasions when someone actually wishes you cancer, can be ignored.

Unless he's oversensitive. Which he is. But in this case, what he should do is stop being oversensitive.

The reaction "I'll just shut everything out" is silly, even unhealthy. There is so much fun to be had with chill people in postgame chat. It's like when you decide never to leave your house again, because someone was rude to you once...

Okay, won't argue that with you exaggeration might be a factor, my opinion might differ somewhat due to some very nasty experiences on ps4, but on the other hand i don't play on pc and cannot comment on the state of things there.

But whether the OP was right or wrong wasn't my issue and has never really been my issue on these forums. Its simply the fact that some could have just as easily given their opinions without being mean about it.

It's becomes so commonplace on these forums it troubles me.

However playing devils advocate and being somewhat old (ish) i can accept that my aversion to this is that I am nice to practically everyone unless real buttons are pushed. Having faced real life nastiness i tend to find myself not wishing to inflict it on others without real due cause.

Guess I'm old fashioned and about to become obsolete?

(Edited because I'm tired as f**k and can't type apparently)

  • You know, i get that some of you enjoy or don't mind the post game chat, and that's all cool, you all do you, as I always say.

But do some of you have to be so bloody viscous about voicing your opinion?

Seriously the attitudes around here are kinda sad to see, especially when you see one or two people you used to respect for being reasonable, turn around and join the "Be harsh because i can" club. Jeez.

You're talking to another human being who was simply expressing an opinion, and because it didn't match yours you get mean about it. I know internet anonymity gives you some leeway but seriously?

And i am aware that the OP didn't help themselves in their last post, so this is directed at them too. You can't complain about in game chat harshness and then hop on the bandwagon in here dude. It rather negates your point.

I am aware that i am an old (ish) dying breed of gamer and i don't suit popular opinion these days, the one where everyone gets to be as mean as they like because "That's the way it is now" But f*ck it, I'll take the risk of the verbal gun being pointed my way and make the effort to briefly implore that you guys treat each other like people instead of contenders in verbal game of whack a mole.

Maybe it might resonate with at least one person.

    *Shrugs*

  • You're not there! -

You refuse to believe in the reality of your situation, this is all a dream, a rather terrible dream. This makes you utterly useless on generators since you have no technical knowledge in reality, nor can you outrun / loop / bodyblock the killer since you are a couch potato in real life. Your only defence is your childhood blanket. When in the killers terror radius, you can pull the blanket over your eye's, denying the killer's reality and rendering yourself untouchable.

  • Franklins bait and switch-

Upon downing and hooking a survivor with an item, you then corrupt said item. There are no sound or visual cues to alert the survivor of this dastardly switchero,

Med kits - Heal, but also infects the patient dealing dmg over time (much like legions wounding)

Instaheals - Instahealaed player becomes a walking bomb

Toolbox - Player is permanently exhausted and slowed as the weight of running with a metal box full of tools becomes too much

Spare part - The addon works as intended, but upon successful application another generator regresses to 10%

Flashlight - Item works as intended, but will now remain permanently lit while glowing like a disco ball and blaring "Hooked on a feeling" for s long as the battery holds out.

Survivors cannot drop items when Bait and Switch has taken place.

  • I will honestly be sad if they cave into the ridiculous demands for a nerf on nurse.

I love facing her, I love the "Oh sh*t" split second thought when you hear her traversing the map and wonder if she's coming to you.

I love those breathless moments when you only 'just' get out of her line of sight as she teleports in and the subsequent sneaking as she searches the area.

I get that people find her frustrating, but at the same time I know full well she 'IS' counter-able from bottom to top ranks, and I'm really getting tired of both sides falling into "Too hard...nerf it!" culture.

And even more disappointed in the devs for indulging it far too often.

Some things are broken and need to be fixed. Nurse is not one of them.

  • I can't add much more than everyone already has but i will say this in case you haven't done it already.

If you're on PC get rid of chat, if you're on console, turn off the ability for people to message you. Killer is stressful enough, when you have adults behaving like 12 year old's whether they win or not, in the end game chat, it can make it worse.

I relaxed and accepted my losses a lot more without four other people grinding myface in the dirt to make themselves feel better.

Small tip for hag; Don't go for just the trap under the hook, trap the exit points from the hook. A lot of survivors will only stealth long enough to get away from the hook then will run :)

Keep at it though, hag and spirit are genuine fun to play once you find a way to balance the stress.

    Good luck!

  • Take breaks people!

You can't do anything about camping, tunneling, looping, instahealing, bad manners or any of the myriad of things that frustrate you.

But you CAN stop smacking your head against a brick wall.

I understand and sympathise with both sides since i do play both. I also get frustrated when playing either side for all the obvious reasons after playing for a long period of time. I'm not amazing at the game and I'm okay with that as it means I don't tend to take a loss too seriously, but i do have a rule of stepping back for a bit when my stress level starts making things 'not fun' anymore.

I always find myself coming back with a refreshed enthusiasm for the game. Seriously, don't play if the game is becoming stressful. There is no rule saying you can't come back, and you'll thank yourself for it later.

  • No perk, addon, or item that is placed in the game by the game developers, and then used by killers or survivors as intended, is cheating.

Move along please, you're embarrassing yourself.

  • Can we stop using abuse and kidnapping as an analogy for someone cheating/or being cheated out of a video game win!

I have no horse in this race, i honestly don't care one way or another, but use better analogies that don't involve the words 'Victim Blaming' where they aren't realistically applicable.

    Jeez

Here is the problem with how you posted.

First you used definitive terms to clump everyone together such as "gets every killer upset" / "most to all killers act like this on EVERY post".

Unless you can provide the percentage of everyone who plays killer and then dissect the people who "flame" to prove (with hard evidence) your point that "every killer" does this it just takes away from your credibility and makes enemies out of people you may not have intended to target.

Secondly evidence to the polar opposite can be found too with killer related posts getting torn apart by survivor players. The problem is as @ShrekIsHot said "It goes for both sides, people have opinions,".

It is posts like this that continue to create an idea of "Killer players vs Survivor players" and foster the concept that you either belong to one side of this flame war or the other. Everyone has their own opinion and cherry picking situations to fit your narrative does not help the Developers make a better game, nor help the community reduce the toxicity that has festered.

It is perfectly fine to have your own opinion on the game or events surrounding the game but make sure you review both sides of an argument or topic of discussion before trying to clump ever single person into a category for the sake of your narrative.

You are right that this game has a large amount of toxicity but this is even more reason to take care in how you word/research your frustrations as to avoid simply making another hate filled post yourself.

(Since it can be difficult to express this without having a face to face conversation understand this isn't written with anger or malice towards you at all. I can see where you are frustrated (as many are) and your passion on the subject clearly burns bright. Just don't let your passion burn you too.)

Put better than i ever could. +1 agree whole heartedly

  • None, the habit of picking apart every aspect of this game from both sides really needs to stop.

  • The biggest issue i have, is that the shoulder wriggle has already borked one of my controllers after playing for a year, trying to use the left stick is like trying to guide my character, killer or survivor, through mud.

Apparently its not just me either, as i had to look it up.

Edit: I'm certainly not saying get rid of struggle but an alternative to wearing out controllers or my own hands would be a pleasant welcome

  • @se05239 said:

    Waving hands = Killer's close / Camping

That's what I've learnt it meant since I started playing this game and that's what I'll assume it means.

This was my interpretation when i started, and it worked for a while. Then somewhere down the line it changed and I had to stop using it because of the lemmings that came running up to the hook.

Then came the abuse afterwards, because I had "Gotten them killed"

    *Picard face palm*

  • It kind of depends on the game at hand for me. I run a utility build, small game, Urban, we'll make it and borrowed time.

If there is ruin at the start of the game, i will go totem hunting, especially if i have a map to hand, which makes things so much more simple when teamed up with small game. If there is no ruin, I disable whatever totem I come across.

However your theory does have merit, I've had a lot of end game saves when not playing my utility build because I remembered where totems were placed, allowing me to locate and disable NOED.

Honestly i think all tactics are viable, as all have helped me win games against a Hex killer.

  • Survivor main here, don't let the pic fool you, im 30% killer only and I don't like to rely on hex perks so I like to think my opinion is not a biased or "scared killer' one. (Seriously can we stop with the insults from both sides, it makes you ALL look like you're 12!)

NOED can be annoying at endgame, but if you use the actual counter that you get actual points for, it isn't a problem. You can cleanse all the totems, memorise where you see totems and knock it out when it activates, or you could not just run straight out in the open when endgame occurs. You can even open the hatch when it has been closed , and given the amount of keys i have seen, this isn't out of the realms of possibility.

Personally i favour disabling all totems during the match. Most people say that wastes time because totems don't get gates open, but i like to counter that by asking "Does that quickly opened gate get you off the hook when you're being camped by a NOED wielding nutcase?"

There are counters, if you cannot be bothered to employ them, that is your own problem, not the perk itself. If the perk is 'free kills for killerz', it is because you make it so, and no amount of "Being here longer than all of you" will change that.

The EGC, in my own opinion, is far better than the usual hatch stand off's or bunch of toxic survivors who want to take the game hostage for 20 minutes despite already having won, You cannot deny they did this, and if you hate the state of endgame now, then you know who to blame. The only thing that needs looking into, is the same thing that even most of the killers agree on, a minimum distance between gates.

I know, i do sound like a killer main and you may feel free to accuse me of such if it makes i easier to discredit simple logic, but the truth is, i'm not. I have simply learned that things are not always going to go the way i want them to and in order to survive, i have to adapt. I literally suck at looping, for example, and that taught me a LOT about adapting my play style instead of following the crowd. This doesn't mean i look down on people who can loop like champs btw, quite the opposite, but it does (along with learning some killer) give me a better appreciation of adapting a play style.

  • You know,i have to respectfully disagree with the OP here. Nurse can be avoided, in fact i have more success avoiding nurse than I do most killers unless she is UBER GOD NURSE TEIR!!.

Firstly, mastering nurse takes skill. You might think it's just point and click, but it isn't. Actual aim and mind games are involved, and even then it can all go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. If nurse is EZ street for you, then congratulations, but the vast majority of the playerbase agree, she takes skill to truly be good with, and those who master her should be allowed the privilege of trying a different play style.

Secondly, there ARE counters to the nurse. Just because YOU don't like stealth, doesn't mean it isn't a valuable and effective strategy against the nurse. P*ss all over it as you will, you don't get to invalidate it as a working tool against this killer, the same with mindgaming them, because as was already pointed out....she is LOCKED in the blink once she starts.

Not every killer has to be loopable...christ the nurse even announces when she's going to take a swing or blink at you, it is really not a sruggle to counter her if you are willing to accept that other playstyles exist. If you aren't willing...well thats your problem, not the nurse's.

  • @ClogWench said:

It really is just another way of being toxic to other players though. Really bad idea.

Pretty much this. It would end the game for me. I don't find it much fun when other survivors purposely screw everyone over as it is, making perks for it is just asking for the toxicity to intensify and I predict a portion of the player base would end up jumping ship.

On the other hand this is just my own opinion and at the end of the day if Behaviour considered this to be a good idea then they would run with it and I'd make my peace with that, but I wouldn't stick around.

Games evolve sometimes and if I'm honest this would fit into the core game idea of "You don't HAVE to play as a team" but as @ClogWench said, there would be too many people who would take the idea of "Serving yourself" and turn it into a hand crafted griefing tool, making every game a frustrating mess.

i fact upon further research it looks like (due to failing to take a simple prventative measure-removal of SWF) behaviour may infact be legally responsabily and liablw for all and any bullying that takes place in their game.

    interesting stuff.

I need to do more research on this and persue it further.I'm afriad bullying (including cyber bullying) is something I have a zero tolerence on and if beheviour are liable for this then so be it.

You are utterly delusional if you think Behaviour are liable because they won't get rid of SWF. I hate to burst your "Only SWF are bullies" bubble, but if you wanted to exterminate all 'bullying' in this game, they would have to get rid of a good portion of killers too.

I'm not talking about using certain perks or end game tactics. I'm talking about ######### threats, death threats, threats to come to my home and..."Make you pay, you c**t", and thats just my own experience. I didn't use any of the perks you all scream unfair about, I didn't use purple items, I simply escaped, or helped someone else escape to get these reactions.

I don't have a horse in this race, if you actually got rid of SWF, i'd just revert to playing KWF, because i have no interest in 'killer or survivor bullying', but I'm sick to death of playing both sides, getting it from both sides, and then hearing time and time again that it's just survivors.

Grow up. If you want to go all 'Liable' on Behaviours ass, you better broaden your research.

  • Apparently only half my post went through.

On the subject of the door placements, RNG has been a b**ch for a long time and both sides feel it. For the survivors its crappy door and sometimes gen placements. The killers get god awful totem spawns. Its a bit of a mess.

It can definitely feel unfair when you last long enough to maybe escape and you get shafted by door placements, I've been there, but all we can do is keep giving feedback and hope something is done about the state of things like doors and totems.

Until then, the only thing you can do is take it on the chin and move on. If i know I'm f*ed, i just noise spam and spin under a hook to get it over with. Yeah i get the odd few that will slug me but hey, if they wanna watch my corpse while i go make some tea....whatever floats their boat.

See, funny thing is buddy, not everyone has people to play with 24/7. Funny how you can't make an argument without resorting to calling people "crying survivors". You clearly don't care, due to you being a killer main, but it is a balancing issue, and as someone who plays both sides, it needs to be BALANCED. Not unfair for either side.

Little tip bud, its best to ignore anyone who uses the phrase "Crying survivors" . You won't get a reasonable conversation out of them and they pretty much just want to poke a reaction. It's almost adorable.

Some opposing opinions here have merit, some people just like getting their jollies off by pretending their edgy. Like I said. Adorable.

  • Honestly I don't tend to use them much, I get more points with multiple hookings. I'll bring an ebony out once in a blue moon.

However I have noticed an increase over the past couple days. Tbh I would rather they use them now than having them spammed continuously over bloodpoint events.

I agree wholeheartedly with your original post. I play on ps4 as well. I play both roles, killer and survivor. I routinely get hate messages from survivor teammates, and hate messages from survivors when I play as killer. I am never toxic, ever. Never even dc'd during a match. Even ones where I probably should have dc'd.

I've played DBD on ps4 for over 2 years now. The toxicity has gotten worse in the last year. May coincide with PsPlus giving the game away for free, but I don't know.

I find that I still truly enjoy the game despite the ongoing negativity. Mostly due to the rare occasions where I get thank you and well played messages. In gaming, as well as life, I try to ignore negativity and see good intentions where I can. : )

    Eternal optimism, I guess. Lol

PS4 could definitely use more like you my friend, it's a veritable snake pit in there sometimes.

  • Dear Devs/BHVR, Dear Community, this evening I felt the need to finally register to the forums and give you some of my thoughts on the current situation of the game or more specific:

You managed to sum up beautifully how i feel my friend. I play both sides, and get it from both sides. It's interesting to see each side blame each other for the toxicity while taking no accountability for their own.

I had a killer match recently where i had my ass handed to me, which is fair enough, I don't play nearly enough killer in public matches. But the toxicity level all the while was disgusting. It got to the point that they opened the gates then came to taunt me. I got one down and ended up face camping them near a gate.

I felt really, really bad for doing it too, but i'd just had enough.

As a survivor, the BP event was just camp/tunnel/ebony mori city. Look i don't expect a win handed to me, nor should people be compelled to farm, but every killer seemed to want to smash through teams with highest addons and Mori'...then complained that survivors were not using offerings...why the heck would they waste them?

Like you I'm not crying. I took all of this on the chin and when it got too much, went and played some KWF. As much as we would like to do something about it, it's just something that happens in competitive games, and we cannot control how other people act.

As I've said before, sometimes it's just a matter of knowing when to set down the controller or do something else to save your own sanity.

I've combated this situation by getting to know some pretty awesome killers and survivors, just to remind myself that there are like minded people in this game, and so I encourage you not to leave based on the toxicity. Just seek out the people you enjoy playing with and give them the props they deserve for choosing to play a somewhat less aggressive way.

Swf isn't fun, not in any reality.

too easy as a survivor (auto win)

    not fun as killer.

you want to know the real reason ppl play in swf groups, because they want to gang up on one person.

that's right, the real reason you want to play in a SWF group is cause you are a bully, no other reason

This is the most ridiculous and uninformed claim I have seen so far.

Sorry but no, wanting to play with your friends does not translate into wanting to bully the killer, you can tell yourself and everyone else that over and over again but that doesn't make it true.

Are there Bully SWF teams?...Hell yes, and I have faced a few of them myself, they suck. But i have also faced teams who have simply played well and sent nice messages, some even when they didn't do well because they enjoyed the game.

I play in a three man. We suck, because we go out there to have fun and generally refuse to use insta heals or many of the meta perks because god forbid we get the bully brand for simply using whats available. We've been camped, tunnelled, mori'd over and over during the BP event and even had killers slug and not hook us all because it was funny to watch us bleed out.

Wanna know what we did in response.....Not. A. Damn. Thing.

Here's the problem with saying that not all SWF are bullies is irrelevant. Say you get what you want and we get penalised for playing together. Wanna know the ones who will be lobby dodging so they don't get those penalties? The ACTUAL bully squads.

You don't get to tar every survivor with the bully brush because it simply isn't true. You don't like the imbalance, thats fine, i can understand that, but branding us all as toxic killer bullies is not only ridiculous, it exacerbates this whole damn viscous circle of us Vs them that has plagued this game for so long that is pretty much a meme at this point.

I'm not saying you have to like SWF, but you do not get to throw us all in to one pile of as**oles. Some of us are grownups who don't have to find ways to pick on people to make our games satisfactory.

  • Meh, at the end of the day, you do you. If you don't find it fun, try killer as changes can be slow to make, especially with other things that are coming, and maybe come back when those changes are implemented.

I still find survivor interesting. I like being surprised by killers that aren't all ruin and NOED (and before you shoot me no i'm not condemning those perks but it does get wearing after several games) but still retain awesome skills to test my play style.

I like meeting the crazy but awesome survivor players who you just meld with as a team without needing to say a thing, as opposed to the lemmings you see go down around the hook 1, 2, 3.

I adore the once in a while silly killers who obviously got bored being the bad guy and just meme around the map with you.

I'm not saying new objectives wouldn't be fun, but I will say that fun is subjective, and I'm the kind of person to find fun where I can or make my own. So I'm still having a blast as survivor, even if i don't make it to the exit gates.

@Andreyu44 as someone who also plays on PS4. Don't message anyone if your salty, just let it be and play another match. Same thing if someone messages you some salty garbage.

Don't engage it isn't worth it. You are going to get bad teammates and trolls that pull you off the hook without bt in front of the killer and point at you while struggling. You will get camping killers that do nothing all game and wreck a lobby with NOED and message GIT GUD.

It isn't worth it to send these people messages or respond to them. When you combine this behavior with broken aspects of the game it will just make you jaded and not want to play the game anymore.

Pretty much what they said. If you feel you can't ignore it, put your messages on friends only. It's just not worth getting into it, you will never get a good response from it and will only stress yourself out all the more, totally not worth it.

  • I would love to see Ellen Ripley, but since its already been said that it's highly unlikely they would make an Alien killer, I doubt she would make an appearance. But I'd fan girl all over the place if she did.

Strangely enough I'd love to see the actual Robert Englund facing off against Freddy since he does technically portray himself in Wes Cravens New Nightmare, and i believe our Freddy is based upon the newer version. I know its unlikely but since this is a wishful thinking thread....

Tucker or Dale from Tucker and Dale VS Evil, purely for the comedy factor.

Marty from Cabin in the Woods, because that guy has inexplicable survival skills right to the very end.

oh i feel your pain had survivors in my game rank 10 etc and from the hag when unhooking they couldnt even crouch from the traps im like ######### hell lol .... how did you get too this rank? the solo life is a struggle ....

I see it all too often in Hag games and wonder the same thing. How in the hell have you reached this rank without learning to crouch over traps? Have they not faced the Hag before? Did nobody tell them to crouch? Or do they simply not care when they can get those delicious unhooking points?

Considering most of them unhook and run, I'm tempted to say the latter. Which i guess works out for me when I'm actually playing hag since i trap up the exit and entry routes to the hook rather than just in front. Does catch me quite a few hook farmers.

An old piece of parchment made out of a skin-like material. Is rolled and sealed with an uncoloured leather string. Holding and channelling the Map unlocks great potential in one's Aura-reading ability which slowly burns the Map. Generators' Auras which you have already encountered are revealed to you for as long as the Map has charges left.

Add On: Red Twine- A bristly and rough piece of twine of a deep red colour. Can be tied around a map to enhance its Aura-reading ability.

    • Unlocks the ability to track Killer Belongings.

(Due to how my tablet behaves, I'll put the description of the Rainbow Map above the pic)

A piece of parchment made out of oddly fresh skin. Blood on its edge has yet to dry. It is rolled and sealed with multiple coloured ropes and cords. Holding and channelling the Map unlocks a great potential in one's Aura-reading ability which slowly burns up the Map. Objects with Auras which you have already encountered are revealed to you for as long as the Map has charges left.

Things to note: The Rainbow Map doesn't need any of the twine add ons, being able to track EVERYTHING the map item could if it were able to apply all it's twine add ons.

^This. Not only are they damn useful for nixing NOED like a champ, they help find any other pesky totem that might be giving you trouble.

  • I've had almost the exact same scenario with a friend in tow on more than one occasion. Though the best one was recently during the BP event.

Got sandbagged by a Jake (yep, another Jake) while he was being chased, hag took me to the basement. He looped the hag around the basement as i watched my friend patiently await his chance to rescue while doing a gen nearby.

When the Jake finally got away, friend crouch walks over to basement (this hag was pretty good about their trap placement) Got to the top of the stairs......

....then Jake burst into the shack, dropped the shack pallet when the Hag wasn't even around, and promptly rushed past said friend, RUNNING down the stairs, triggering all the traps and yolo saves me before my friend can get down there in order to snatch up all those juicy unhooking points and running out before my feet had barely touched the floor.

I look at the Hag. The Hag looks at me, as though she can't believe it herself. Some understanding passes and i simply point to the stairs where Jake had made his safe exit. Hag nods and sprints off after him.

She of course killed us later with one gen left to go, but I thanked them afterwards because in all honesty she could have taken that free kill instead of smacking down that Jake first and letting me get out of the damn basement.

  • My friends and I do this every now and then in KYF, it's an interesting change of pace learning to play without anything else to rely on other than your ability to hunt / hide.

Sadly I'm not sure its something they will implement for some of the reasons already posted. But it's a nice idea all the same.

  • Given the nature of some of the community, my friends and I have been playing a lot of KYF lately. Mostly because its more fun learning different killers in an environment where you aren't going to get a ton of bullying once they realise you are new. Sometimes we just play to get away from the public games.

Some form of BP would be wonderful, even at a lower rate, because no matter the grind, you are still grinding with your friends.

I do agree a cap would have to be put onto it however, because given the choice, most would prefer to just hang out with friends than deal with a potentially terrible public matches.

If You aren't happy with the idea of BP, then why not make devotion levels and shards a thing to grind for?

To be honest, there are a lot of in game issues I would deem more important than this given the current state of things for both sides, but it is something I would love to see in the future.

  • How about all the no?

Why should every other person who just wants to hang out with friends, get punished because of a few bully squads?

Should we punish all killers for the few that Mori spam by taking away all Mori's?

I'm 100% behind rewarding killers for playing against SWF, that's totally fair. But this whole idea of actively punishing people because they have friends they want to play with is just plain idiotic.

I play in a two, occasionally 3 man swf. We aren't a crack team of ninja's predicting a killers every move. We're a crack team of idiots giggling helplessly when one of us dead hard's into a wall and run's right into a trap. Or as @Sairek mentioned, teaching other people.

Stop trying to punish and start thinking up a solution that won't involve people going back to the old way of lobby hopping to be with their friends.
