Collaborating with the Killer is a banable offense, one thing is going towards a gen when chased hoping he loses interest in you and goes for another person (a jerk move but not banable) an another one is intentional sandbagging, wasting pallets or leading the Killer to your position with Bond etc.
I don't go out looking for the killer, just saying if it finds me, and I see an opportunity to drop him off on somebody else I'll do so otherwise the game isn't worth playing any more as long as queues are. Idgaf how instant killer queue is, I don't have fun as killer and would rather sit ten minutes waiting to play survivor especially since I can't seem to derank my killers no matter how hard I've tried to. So killer isn't a realistic option for me, at least until they allow you to opt out of swf or at least confirm it in lobby so you can take advantage of instant killer queues and just dodge them. But that's not gonna happen, and deranking as killer doesn't work for me any more (real smart choice there, devs), so killer isn't an option for me since I don't work for free and everybody else's good time over my own. I expect the same position from them as well, our own fun is our responsibility. Your fun isn't my responsibility, neither is my fun yours. If you die, it's your own fault. Be more careful, or in some circumstances, more lucky, the same happens to me it's just the way it is.
In the situations where there's a couple of us found, I'm gonna try to make sure I'm the fastest guy, including tanking a hit for the speed boost when coming to areas where only one of us can squeeze through (saved my ass a few times already plus it gives protection stacks when needed) and if they're injured and I'm worried they'll dead hard past me I may also drop a pallet on them rather than risk Them zipping forward and dropping it on Me. That actually makes it feel more 'scary' anyways, which releases more adrenaline, keeping it at least a little fun in spite of the queue times by not even being able tot rust other survivors making the danger seem more real. If you have a problem with that, don't make it our problem for those of us willing to do what's necessary to not spend most of our hour sitting in queue repeatedly after being tunneled or slugged over and over in between.
The first man down is probably being tunneled especially with the killers I deal with lately, and if an unlucky spawn leads to it being me and they are dead set on getting me again I'll get as many chase points as I can (enjoying the chase) and then not struggle since the points for struggling aren't worth it with carpal tunnel knowing I'm just going back up there on the hook anyways when instead I can get a jumpstart on an already long queue and not struggle when tunneled or camped. And lately when that's happened to me because I got the killer dropped on myself including in ways I've mentioned, I understand why they did it and don't blame them for it. They don't wanna sit for ten ######### minutes just to die in one minute either. Nobody does, I blame the devs for after 4 years still not taking steps to make killer fun enough to keep it appealing instead of most players preferring to stack on top of each other in survivor queue even when it's longer. That says something about how little fun killer is for most people, otherwise I wouldn't have ten minute queues for survivor right now. If you have a problem with the way some of us are playing, in a game where the goal is to SURVIVE and we are trying to get the most out of our time in it now of all times... take it up with the developers since they the only ones that can make it better. All we can do is quit, and see how much fun you're having then in hour long queues at that point if enough people quit on both sides. I hear factorio is quite a good game if you need to take a break.

Theres no such thing as a 10 minute queue on crossplay right now, its about 30 secs at most. I had a bill running to different areas of the map letting legion hit him with feral to find where i was so I could get hooked and he got the hatch. Its blatant cheating, not just giving my position away.
my queues initially went up about 5 minutes give or take half a minute to a minute immediately after crossplay as survivor, for about a week now they've been pushing ten minutes and afew times almost 15 minutes while killer went from long queues to almost instant since crossplay without change the last time I played a couple maybe a few days ago by now. good for you that yours aren't borked, but maybe there's alot of rank 20s now so they get faster matches idk.

@deadbybums said:
Ive genuinely never had to report people for cheating as often as I have since cross play. So many games totally worthless playing against people who are blatantly helping killers.
I have reported people through the in game report feature but how often is something done about those reports..?
dude, as long as queue is as survivor now, I don't blame them for rather having you have wasted your own ten minutes in queue than themselves if they can drop the killer on you and get to play alittle bit longer. I started doing the same thing myself. It's not cheating, the game was originally designed for randoms trying to survive, and naturally, you would try to survive by any means necessary. That includes getting somebody else killed so you can stay alive when the option presents itself. There is a reason very few people are that selfless, we refer to it as "natural selection". Meaning those sort of mindsets don't keep you alive very long, and by extension, able to feed, nurture, and protect your offspring. So being Too "altruistic" is not something likely to be common, since it wasn't often passed on and when it was it was at a massive disadvantage when competing with selfishness. There is no right or wrong, those are social constructs, there is only do or don't do. And sandbagging is something I will do until I stop having ten minute (sometimes more) queues.

I play survivor to destress, survivor are the real killers in the game. After a few matches as killer, survivor lets me unwind on other people more stubbornly sticking with killers than I am. And now I unwind on bad teammates too after ten minute queues just to get them as teammates. Gotta find some way to keep the game fun, sandbagging bad teammates so they're the ones that just wasted 10 minutes in queue rather than myself is one way to do it.

I'm on ps4. When I had crossplay on I was waiting around 10 minutes for a match. I turned it off and I only wait a minute or two, killer or survivor.
that's weird because as pc survivor my queues were from almost instant to usually not longer than pushing half aminute, while my killer queues were 5 to 15 minutes outside maybe 2 to 3 minutes during the day or using vpn in london (I'm usa) which also seemed to have faster pre-crossplay killer queues than usa for me in the late afternoons or at night as killer to the opposite after cross-play since most console players seem to hate being killer as much as I usually do. Now it's all been flip-turned upside-down.
Even though my killer is now the instant queue, I only enjoyed it the first night until I ranked too fast with too few matches so I don't wanna play it any more after seeing for some reason I can't lose ranks on killer now I can only lose them on survivor any more (which is BAD as survivor now, but always been GOOD as killer for me). So between my roughly ten minute survivor queues, to be facing nothing but rank 3 and rank 4 killers any more often with at least one ######### teammate and more tunnel and slug than I'm used to, and not being able to derank as killer no matter how many dozen matches in a row I afk in the background at 0 pips I'm not having fun any more on Either side. I've never been tilted as survivor until now and usually had fun even on hard matches, but now I understand that's only because I could instantly get a new lobby afterwards and didn't waste ten minutes for whatever bs I endured once in a while.

You're just wrong. Like I don't understand how you can't see it. Perfect example, I've been playing this game for years. I get 4ks on killer all the time and I escape all the time as survivor. The other day I got downed pretty quickly at the start cause I started, unluckily, next to a leatherface and was shown no mercy. By your terrible incorrect logic, I'm bad at the game and everyone has the right to tell me that.
No. I'm not bad and neither are many people who play this game. Sometimes things are just out of your control. You can offer tips, I do it to low ranks a lot. But I'm ######### nice about it and don't tell them they're bad at the game. That toxic communication will make them not want to play the game. I compliment them on things they're doing right. It doesn't inspire anyone to hear that they ######### suck. Like what if someone was already hsving a ######### day and the first thing they read after the match is how bad they are?
Learn how to talk to people and stop with that "eVeRyOnEs A sNoWfLaKe" #########. You're literally scrambling trying to defend calling people bad yet everyone else is sensitive? I'd rather be sensitive than have ######### people skills and be ignorant of others feelings.
some newer survivors leaving quickly would make my recently horrible experiences better both without them as potential teammates and competing for tunnelslutt spots in ten minute survivor queues. it's the people willing to be killers you don't wanna run off right now. since that'll only make my queues even longer as survivor and I don't have fun most of the time as killer (except the first night of matches after crossplay that ran out since it ranks you too quickly and doesn't let me derank killers for some reason no matter how many times in a row I afk at 0 pips).
-
nothing currently, first times I've felt as pissed off on survivor as I do on killer recently. ten minute survivor queues for me have alot to do with it, otherwise I would have requeued as usual. more of you need to take one for the team and play killers... chop-chop to it

Just another reason why I SWF.
You can't pick your family or your randoms, but you can certainly pick your swfmates!
Unfortunately the spike in larger swf grouping lately is probably related tot he spike in slugging, tunneling, and camping I've been experiencing. I haven't even been having as much fun as survivor lately between that and nothing but red rank killers the last couple of days I played, and until recently I've very rarely been tilted as survivor but when there's nearly ten minute queues on top of it I've found myself being tilted lately even on survivor.

It is the same problem like using ultra low settings against normal or high graphic.
I recently rewatched old YouTube videos of monto, puppets and 2 others I am not sure of. 3 times normal dark graphics and the 4 view ultra bright and lowest graphics without much gras or anything.
Reminds me of the old pubg problem with hiding in gras and other people reducing the rendering distance for objects.
But yes if you have to fiddle with the config files outside of the in-game options it is borderline cheating, even if it is the devs fault to make those files accessible in the first place.
Lastly I personally don't like cheating but even so I would not use stretched res because I would get sick of the fish lense view I've seen on comparison pictures. And since I only play killer it wouldn't even help to begin with.
sometimes you diddle those settings to get some fps without having to make the game look like ass due tot he same lazy lack of visual options in game that they had four years ago. mainly so that you don't need to waste valuable time i match changing the resolutions cale for the poorly optimized maps like ormond and middlewich which can go from 60something to 70something % gpu usage to suddenly almost 50 fps in certain directions in halls in middle and at a few specific spots of ormond whichc ans crew your gameplay for both sides on those maps when it happens. I'm using a 2080 gpu btw, so no, it isn't my hardware also using a 2700x cpu.

The amount of people who just stand around doing nothing for large stretches of the trial amazes me sometimes.
Now I don’t care if I “win,” or escape as survivor I just hope for a good game. And I’m not blaming cross play solely because some has been PC teammates too but it’s increased recently.
Im talking about being on the hook with Kindred, one teammate being chased literally across the map, one hiding in a locker still, and the other crouch walking over to save me after I reach second stage.
Or running a killer with Bond and seeing a teammate following behind the chase without a flashlight.
Or working on a gen while a teammate crouches right next to me waiting for a moment to go make a save... if you’re going to wait I understand but you are literally next to a gen just hold m1.
I don’t condone it, but I can certainly see why survivors DC or off themself on first hook.
enjoying the survivor crossplay experience I see lmao. I started doing it too once I started seeing red rank killers, it's just not much fun. crossplay gave me the luxury of dodging lobbies on killers, and being able to have some fun matches as killer but it's really sharted on my survivor experiences. and I prefer to play survivor stills ince killer is still stressful just to know i am about to go into queue for it, it's ingrained in me now. so I prefer survivor.

shoehorning in a killer just because it's female will probably be the beginning of the end in this game. anything shoehorned whether it's a line in a script or a casting choice, I've come to realize signals a lack of concern for quality and the viewer/players' experience and that drop in quality (or lack thereof to begin with) is what kills things to be clear. It becomes a quantity over quality mindset, in a sense, which is what does things in when the emphasis is no longer on the quality of the experience. that's why getting woke in some cases has lead to going broke. It's when they have no concerns about the quality. began using that as an indication of potentially low quality games, tv, books and films since I don't have the time to waste finding out things are crap. I just don't take the chances of wasting my time and money any more. Plenty others seem to share the approach these days.

No the majority of killers camp and tunnel. That's just fact. Read some more forum posts or play survivor long enough, you'll see. They call it strategic. But GG on trying to make it seem less than what it actually is by downplaying it as bots. And survivors have to play sweaty with how killers play. Y'all don't understand that that's a byproduct of y'all's playstyle.
"ya'll" dun understeend that's a result of years of swf. You're lucky queues for some survivors are only pushing 10 minutes after crossplay instead of 3 times that.

Fun fact: Killer queue are currently 30 min, while survivors q are instant.
But yeah, keep saying nonsense, you seem like the definition of a butthurt entitled killer main.
my killer queues have been 5 seconds on the longer end since crossplay, so keep saying "nonsense". this was well before PTB, btw. you don't wanna start losing kilelrs since it seems that most console players are survivors since it happened immediately after crossplay and has beent he same for me ever since. mys urvivor queues got longer, and then the night before PTb for the new killer my survivor queues were sometimes almost 10 minutes. they'd be even longer with even fewer killers, and temporarily are already while some are trying the new killer out on the PTB so I haven't played for almost a few days now since starting a day or two before PTB I began seeing nothing but rank 3 and 4 killers, and I am a purple rank solo survivor. I was not ready for the sweat there since coming back to dbd, I couldn't fool around any more after that between not wanting to sit ten minutes in queue just to get immediately tunneled out or slugged for 2 or 3 minutes and wanting to actually get some bp. So while I can escape against many of them, it's almost as sweaty for me now as survivor as it is on killer... which is why I don't enjoy playing killer. Hence, haven't played for 3 or 4 days by now. You don't want too many people to feel that way, or you won't have a fun time in queues. Nor matches when they become full of the sweatiest players after pushing casuals away from the game. I've seen 'leet' attitudes like yours kill plenty of other games, including "asymmetrical" games. I'm a survivor main btw, because killer is not fun. I prefer to be paid for work, I won't provide their entertainment for free.

Lol lobby dodging is due to killers feeling slighted if they dont 4K. That is what would come from this. That doesnt fix anything, it just adds to the toxicity of this community.
it has nothing to do with that. the way you feel watching your team getting ebony'd, a few minutes into a match, is the way akiller feels seeing gens pop and barely being able to find anybody due to the abuse of voip and spotters especially abusing perks like object and being good at not letting it 2-way or using things like distortion making it more annoying. And the whole team will go out of their to make it hard for you to get the prick out of the game too if they're easy to catch. Throw in fleshlights, tea dunking, and often the spotter or bait being the only ones you can find in those kind of groups while also being the hardest to catch and you have yourself a bad time. I honestly have no clue how this game survived four for years. If it wasn't for the lawsuit bs friday the 13th eventually would have edged this out. There's probably an alternate timeline where dead by daylight is the dead game and friday the 13th is a lot better right now. But we are in the darkest timeline, 2020 has proven it to me.
-
discordance and corrupt can be a nice combo for a slower killer
-
I can't wait for hellraid, I think I might spend more time on that game in a couple of days at least until they fix this mmr situation.
-
with addons he can be more annoying and an easier killer for new players maybe while you get better at catching people. if you're clumped is usually when he's bad or you're in a tight area like the lower chambers beneath the temple map. try to keep an eye out for him and get to leaving early, some of them will also chuck a jar in areas where people might be hiding to see if they can hear them cough and have an easy start on them. Try to not let yourself get caught in area you can't avoid the cloud in or escape easily from. Also you can bait a throw and go in the other direction since he has a limit by default just a few iirc, and making more takes him a moment so he can't make more in a chase without automatically losing you. I played him a few times and it helped me play against him more easily getting a feel for things like that. It also takes some time getting used to his throws, if you're playing one you think might be bad at the throws take advantage of that with the fakes. Distance is helpful on him, and stuff like spine chill can help you maintain it as well as keeping an eye around when gens are in a good spot to see at a distance. I treat him like hillbilly and nurse where I don't take chances being greedy on gen time if I see one coming.

The easiest way to think of it is this:
Take the number of Survivors working on gens in its range. Decrease that number by 1, if it is not already 1. Now apply repair speed penalties to the affected Survivors using the new number, not the original one.
It's supposed to reduce the repair speed penalty by one Survivor's worth. Since there is no penalty when alone, the effective number won't go below 1. So two Survivors working on a gen with this perk should both work at 100% speed.
However, due to an error in how the perk is implemented, they work at slightly under 100% speed, which is why your progress bar is red when using this with two Survivors. This will be fixed in a coming update.
I had wondered why the bar was red when using the perk in bp loadouts when it's supposed to be a boost.

Funny, i actually do play solo all day over killer with just the chance to play every other game vs swf.
But i dont have any problem with playing solo, while you seem to struggle. Maybe your survivor performance is simply lacking?
Its not meant as an insult, because i know i dont perform well as killer. But "SWF is fine" is just not true for me, neither on the killer side, nor the survivor side.
yeah I solo survivor, since I don't wanna deal with killer. I didn't play it too much before, but now I don't play it at all any more starting last week. You get used to solo survivor, but while gritty is sometimes thrilling and fun as survivor killer is just plain stress sometimes even the moment you simply queue up as one let alone once you see some lobbies, check profiles, and get trolled in game.

I think a good start at trying to balance swf is to take away a perk slot. Coms give the swf many advantages taking away one slot to compensate for all the information they get would be a step in the right direction
that could be a good idea if they include a voip option in the game as a form of party chat for those groups, just to keep it quick and simple for them. Since voip eliminates the need for many informational perks, and does a better job than many of them if they have somebody keeping tabs on the killer. So provide the voip option in game, or they can use whatever they're on already outside the game, and then remove a perk slot. But only for 3 and 4 man swf, not for duos.
With duo you only need to mark one to kill, and if you've been able to check the profiles and identify a double duo lobby you can know which are which and take one out from each should the opportunity present itself easily enough and then the remaining two are basically solo players the rest of that match. So duo should not be subject to the perk loss, but 3 man and certainly 4 man should. 4 man lobbies should have a green mori active without the need for an offering too actually, but maybe base that on the mmr of the group or it's highest two members.

Because killers are going to dodge them
I'm of the mind that while SWAT TEAM SWF exists, they are not nearly as prevalent as people believe they are (to put a number down, let's call it 15%).
So while 15% of SWFs are God mode jerks, 85% of SWFs are friends who just want to play together. BUT if you're a killer and you see 4 SWF group, why would you even gamble on getting stuck with the jerk SWAT SWF team? Now any SWF team, regardless of actual skill, is getting lobby dodged constantly and they quit, killing a large chunk of your playerbase and possibly killing your entire game as enough people quit.
It could be resolved by adding a concede/forfeit option to close the match and give the survivors a win but force the conceding player (whether survivor or killer) to play one match to completion without it to enable it as an option for them in their following match each time they've used it. Then they could be like, "well, fugget... if it's a swat team /ff move on and if I am unlucky enough to actually get 2 in a row I'll just afk the second one so I can /ff again on the unlikely chance I win the lottery and actually get a third a match or two later already." problem not entirely solved, but that will offset a lot of dodges when they are not forced to be so committed or punished for doing anything other than afking or working as an entertainment provider without being paid at least a minimum wage for it. A survivor using the option would just count as an immediate sacrifice, but not for the hooks that didn't occur already in the match which is better than a disconnection still. It might also make some feel less frustrated, leading to being less susceptible to being goaded by toxic swf into reportable chat end game.
-
It's already a second chance perk, or do you want third chance perks introduced into the game considering it's current state on top of the fact even if mmr had worked as they'd claimed that you would then have not only swf but also no more potato swf groups or potato randoms and all your matches would become sweaty at your mmr ceiling> You don't want to make it even more sweaty for them if you like having people willing to play killer that aren't the sweatiest tryhards. On the bright side that could lead to queues for killers being less than two minutes. Survivor queues would increase to 5 though if too many of them decided to start only playing survivor rather than just quitting.

I hope they do it, so that survivor queues begin to grow in length and the main killers left willing to play as kilelrs rather than stack more onto survivor queue are the sweatiest tryhards with thousands of hours. When i see alobby that looks like swf and I have a hawkins offering to spare as a solo survivor, I use it and do my best at hiding while getting safe gens so I can farm them off of hooks for wglf stacks for the lulz.
-
especially once they get mmr working the way it's intended to, since you'll never get potatos again and most killers are gonna have to convince themselves that good games happen when you only get a single kill or two especially once they ruin moris and leave swf in the game at their mmr ceiling. rifts and killer costumes aren't worth buying any more in my opinion. but they don't care as long as the 4 to 1 majority continue buying the costumes at least. money talks, bullshit walks out the door and let's the queues rot.
-
Of course they are, that's why they will never touch swf and said they're "looking into moris". Enjoy it while you can. You don't wanna wait too long and be stuck playing only the sweatiest swf and killers once the game is on it's deathbed. trust me, best to leave games like this and let them die once those times roll around.

It´s also only as of recently that I´ve had more of those matches, but for soon to be 2 years I´ve seen it time and again, just not as frequently.
yeah it's miserable experiences even when you win unfortunately. And yet we still survivors defending swf to the grave, while wanting ebony mori either rendered useless or impossible to use if not removed completely. even knowing,t hat once the mmr is fixed and kilelrs hit their eventual ceiling... that they will never face potato groups ever again. it's like they Want the game to die, just so that they can blame it on killers for not wanting to play any more.

spine chill is safer for solos to use, btw, unless you're Really good. spine chill is even good in swf because it has benefits while being chased. object is 9 times out of ten either a new player or a swf group. and if you show mercy, you're gonna have a bad time. don't worry about it possibly being a clueless new player, that's the devs' responsibility. just tell them after game why you treated them the way you did so they avoid using the perk in future matches for their own good. But assume it's swf and annihilate them in the match if you can.

What you've seen, is an increasing number of object-abusing swf groups in your lobbies. There are the rare solo players using it, and of course new players sometimes do it without knowing it'll get them killed and there are those with achievement hunting but usually if you recognize object tunnel them out of the game if you couldn't find anybody else since chances are they're on voip telling the scrubs they're playing with where you are, what you'r doing and where your traps are if using those. In that case, camp them, don't chase any bait coming near the hook, be prepared to slug them after being unhooked to avoid ds, and slug everybody else while you count the 60 seconds off and then hook camp them again while leaving the others slugged around there. Then play normally from there if one or more others don't rage quit. That's how you deal with object besides staring into the sky facing a corner away from gens and exit gates.

You really want this game to die, don't you? Just quit now if you don't want to play it any more. A mori once in a while is the only thing keeping your own queue from becoming half an hour right now, but suit yourself. If they ruin or remove ebony moris, I will never touch kilelrs again, especially with these "never another potato ever again" mmr changes until they allow us to choose to not face swf and I am certain I am not the only one. We will pile onto survivor queue, deprive kilelrs from queue because it won't ever have a remote possibility of being fun, and only the sweatiest killers will have the tolerance to put up with swf any more.
Eventually that will kill your game, and then some folks will say "I told you so, you happy now?". But of course survivors never are in these type of games, no matter how many games they kill with their squeakiest wheels that always get the grease. And of course it'll be the killers' fault for "being babys who don't want to play" (i.e. get trolled by toxic swf that are probably scrubs if they have to solo queue besides the one carrying their group). This stuff never gets old, gonna be a shame to see it happen to a game with so many players, but they can all disappear as quickly as every other game like this that has died.
Don't ever play swf if you want ebony ruined, you're making the killer feelt he same you claimed to feel. And it's not like you experienced moris every few games, even before the matchmaking got wrecked and that even if functioning as intended will never throw a potato to killers ever again once they hit their ceiling without tedious afking to offset it swf were already annoying every 3 to 5 matches for a lot of us when not more often some bad nights. You only have to deal with mori once in a blue moon, swf was already bad before, and once they fix matchmaking and the kilelrs mmr ceiling is hit they'll all give them a hard time without the hope one is ever casual ever again. So enjoy a dead game once you get your way. Or facing nothing but the sweatiest killers, then you'll really be coming back here with some stories to tell.

Except for console players :'(
that's a good point there, especially when crossplay comes along. the 30 fps is gonna be enough of a hit against especially killers like the nurse as well as the controller making ones like saint of killers & huntress almost impossible to play as lol.

I mean, the rank 1 achievements on steam is at 4% obtention, in 4 years, people just like to smell their own farts over how "red ranks is so easy, just play a lot !" when they barely can reach purples, "play a lot" is just an excuse.
I like most of my own farts even when they seem to smell almost exactly like somebody else's and I can't stand others' to the point of spitting, gagging and almost puking even once in a while. It must be some primordial territorial animalistic thing left over from our even pre-encino man days.

I guess everybody is hoping for new survivors now who doesn't usually queue killer

It is a nice break from the normal, one mistake and you lose, killer games you get sometimes.
I did have some newbies running DS and they must watch streamers too because one got unhooked and jump right into a locker even though I wasn’t chasing him lol... broke chase to yank him out and let him feel good about his trick working.
LOL
funny thing is I usually think about it as hoping new killers don't get run off of the game, but it turns out as much thought must be put into not running new survivors off the game too sometimes

so play killers you were either afraid or turned off of touching before for easy matches, thanks Opie

Oh I don't tunnel them off the hook or anything. It's just nice not to have to worry about 8 million things at once like when you're playing full meta sweat squads
survivors are the killers in asymmetricals
