It looks like you're doing pretty well, if you're getting ~20k points per match.
doesn't make it any less frustrating to never get a single kill, plus you can get more bp as survivor usually with a lot less sweat and a bit more fun and then stack it with wglf if you were just playing to farm bp. you have to actually be able to hook two or three different people in order for bbq to be any good. I would have just begun afking for at least 5 or 6 matches after a few that horribly mismatched while i was trying to learn a new killer hoping it would eventually throw a bone and a potato or two.

I always thought Buffy would be a nice addition to the game.
except for the massive suspension of disbelief when all she's doing is running from the killer and never using her demonic rivaling strength and keen fashion sense to throw a beating on it lol. she'd at least better somersault or do a cartwheel over a pallet. which would combo well with lithe now that I think about it.

Your AV may have had something to do with it btw, or a firewall. The AV can sometimes screw up and mess with or even quarantine files related to games, had it happen a few times to myself with steam games. So if you're using one also check their logs to be certain they weren't screwing around with the game's files.
-
I was in a swf once where we lost a guy who had the same error pop up from eac and it scared the hell out of him. He wasn't cheating, and was fine and still is fine afterwards. He did do a validation of his files I think and iirc he said it found a file or two that was off, probably corrupt or something. It's probably not a big deal if you weren't cheating, though falseflags and false bans do happen once in a while. If that happens and you weren't cheating, you would have to take it up with eac's site and make an appeal probably. But chances are you'll be okay, just validate your files through the properties/local files from your steam client.

None of these personally I feel they should be more original. While iconic movie killers are nice to have in game you also have to remember they have to get permission and get the ok to use each killer.I would really like something more original in game like if they did a design killer contest and whoever’s killer they pick will be the one.
That's also a good idea actually to get the community involved in a character's creation, and do the same thing for the accompanying survivor. Some folks would be creating the killer and the survivor with perhaps an interesting story attached to them.
-
one with the power to still get a potato here and there so that rift challenges are still possible after playing that killer too much. jason is out of the question by the way, even the jason asym game was abandoned because of some prick's lawyer bs or some other story. nobody is gonna be able to use jason for quite a long time, if ever at this point.
if by scarecrow killer you mean jeepers creepers, that sounds fun. so does candy man, candy man might be the most fun and interesting out of those to play as and against if they do him justice. alien is a bit played out in my opinion in recent years of pop culture.plus I wonder how many wouldn't want to be reminded of colonial marines so soon.
I would like to see how they would manage to squirm the thing into the game personally. with macready as the survivor. make it a double survivor pack like stranger things having childs. rip wilford brimley btw, maybe a line in it or the trinket that would come with the pack could be a homage. the thing as a killer could lead to some interesting mindgames but it would be incredibly tricky to make it balanced but still capture the feel of it in the gameplay and killer abilities.

Being silent is being complacent. If there's a problem, people should voice their opinion about it.
my opinion on that sort of perspective has changed recently, it's a bit imposing.

that's what it already did when a killer dc, that's how you know they ragequit ha ha ha
-
that's not toxic, that's actually pretty clever... it would feel ######### to be the guy downed just within crawling distance and not getting that last half second you need to escape anyways. of course it sucks for the killer too, but having been in both positions it pissed me off more as survivor usually. after all that time and that effort, just to have it taken away then. while on the other hand, on bad matches as killer, you don't really expect to get a guy by that point anyways so you don't really feel much when it happens and just mash the key back out and skip the chat lol.

i do it if I'm sure there's no noed in case somebody may need me to pop out and take a protection hit when im full health

MMR attempts to predict the outcome of a match, which means it will try to avoid matches that seem fixed one way or the other.
There's one core fact that isn't taken into account however: There are much more top tier Survivors than Killers. So in order to create "balanced" matches with the Killer playerbase that naturally exists the MMR system will have to make Rainbow Rank matches to create "fair" lobbies.
So what the new MMR system is prone to doing is watering down better Survivors with weakers Survivors to allow "winnable" matches for mediocre Killers. On paper it makes sense, but in practice the games feel more lopsided than ever. Because four high MMR Survivors are really hard to find an acceptable Killer so it just mixes high and low to create more "mid-level" lobbies.
hey, that will keep the rift challenges possible to complete eventually for the majority of killers once their lucky potato rolls around, which will keep people interested in playing killer sometimes rather than stockpiling onto only the survivor pools if it's the only side that winds up being fun for them. that would be a good thing in the end if it matches that way. My main concern is that sooner or later, not only would you still be putting up with swf, but no longer would a duo or trio lobby have a chance of a potato providing an opportunity to get your foot int he matchs' doors any more let alone would you literally never find another single "potato swf" group ever again. which over time would bleed out most except the most tryhard, potentially masochistic killers which would then trickle down and run casual survivors and the more casual swf groups off of the game. Because sitting in very long queues, when used to never having long queues ont heir side most likely, just to get matched with only sweaty killers once the game goes, "no more potatos... guess a sweaty killer will hafta do for you" will drive them away too after the potato and mid-range killers are gone.
I've seen it happen to other 'asymmetrical', even with lots of players they can eventually be driven off through a cascading reaction like that especially as their waiting times gradually increase while their fun from the game steadily decreases. Once it hits an impacting enough point it forms a feedback loop of longer queues and more frustrating gameplay leading to more players leaving making the situation worse and repeating the cycle.
-
lmao alot of killers will have played too much for too much mmr and would never get a potato in their lobby let alone ever a potato swf by the time they had to grind their teeth through the rest of the rift roflmao
-
That would be kinda cool, but either it would be another chainsaw killer, a killer with a neutered boomstick to keep it fair enough, or it would be the busted and burnt up swordplay version that would probably be the most sensible to put into this sort of gameplay and would look hella cool.

and you can say rank doesn't matter but clearly it does to higher players regardless and I don't need this right now.
@DrDeepwound said:
Rank matters in that it shows you can at least pip, which according to the emblem system means you win.
Players who consistently pip are better at the game at least according to the game rules.
Camp the hook, the closer the better both to be able to make a move if one is made and also because it helps you to "de pip" (pips I never GAF about ever before, but apparently now they may be worth thinking about if some theories on the mmr are correct). You will also be more likely to get at least one kill that way, and more bloodpoints. Bloodpoints are what matter to you, not some stupid pips... especially if now Not getting those pips helps to keep the game less unfun for you. Camping the hooked survivors closely is probably the best, if not one of the best ways to assure that you won't pip but also will have more fun than you had in those match results that you posted.
I also suggest noed for a while, at least until you stop having matches like that. if you can noed somebody, camp them on the hook either near the noed totem, in between both exit gates when they spawn close together, or in the basement for best results if you have a perk like agitation to help you get in there. Also use insidious perk, to remove your threat radius while camping hooks. Try to do it in a way that's out of site of the hooked survivor in case it's swf over voip since they'll tell the group, but where ones coming for the saves will be less likely to see until it's too late.
But beware of one coming as the bait to lure your attention from the hook enough for them to get a free save from somebody else sneaking up. You want them to pay a price for that save, otherwise you've wasted your time. Also in that sort of situation, slug the mothertruckers when it's a group trying to save them, then hook one of them and leave the rest slugged around there. It punishes swf, and randoms might get bored enough they disconnect and take the 5 minute penalty if it feels worth it over dealing with the way you play. If you have to deal with the way they play, they have to deal with the way you play. It's a two-way street. Doesn't matter whether it's good or it's bad... you're the man with the gun.
-
I honestly play with my ds4 pad most of the time on pc, except with ranged killers which I rarely use so far until I'm willing to put the time into getting the feel for them and I usually don't have issues except with the ranged ones and sometimes nurse. Nurse not as often, it depends on how wirey the survivors are whether I can chill with apad with her or have to scrunch up and tryhard with her to hit anybody. she's sort of in between for me in pad difficulty. deathslinger, plague even clown and especially huntress (cannot hit the broad side of the barn with a controller with her) I have to use a mouse and when I am not int he mood for that I basically don't touch those killers. so I've obviouslly only played each of those killers a few times, I didn't finish one single huntress rift challenge the last rift LOL.
Melee killers or ones with instant downs are fine for me with apad though, except oni is a little rough on some map layouts with the rush is all. I don't plan on playing killer much any more after the mmr changes anyways though, I have to save my potatos for future rift challenges rather than make them impossible to ever complete once I run out of potatos. potatos are a finite natural resource that should be used wisely.

you ONLY playing survivor dosent give you the right to tell them to play a diffrent side for once lol, a good match making system would put all good survivors against a good killer or all newbie survivors with a newbie killer, I'm sure the match making will get better after some time tho
they would need to update future rift challenges to consider that killers would eventually get no more potato filling in the random spot on a 3 man lobby, and no more potato swf meaning every single swf they'd go up against would be a nightmare once their mmr got too high. rift challenges such as kill all 4 by any means or before doors are powered would all need to be lowered by one count, such as never dealing with a kill all 4 rift challenge ever again at least never one that is a roadblock to progress on a rift rather than a branched off optional one. 4 should become 3, 3 should become 2 etc. all the difficulty should be lowered a slight notch, especially since they've already said they're gonna ruin moris down the road. "looking at them" we all know translates to "make them not be helpful in the situations you need them in if not render them useless or nearly impossible to use". remember, you don't have a game without killers. and killer was sweaty enough already, even witht he hope you'd get potatos sometimes... now there's not even that any more once you've performed too well on killer. enjoy the stress, enjoy the sweat, and remember to take your blood thinners. or just go back to survivors after mid chapter updates and let the mmr drain so that you'll be able to enjoy the next killer that comes out for at least a half dozen matches or so, so you wouldn't feel you wasted your money unless you're a masochist or the survivor in the pack has good perks.
-
just got an idea about managing swf without taking them out of the game, killers who frequently when survivor are in lobbies of 3 or 4 players should be given higher priority to be the killer against 3 or 4 playe rlobbies while they are playing the killer while those who duo or especially usually play solo survivor are least likely paired with those over other killers when they queue up as a killer. swf somewhat resolved. if they can dish it out then they can surely take it, plus theyw ould have the benefit of the experience of playing in a large group and understanding the mindset would be a better match for them as well as just deserving to deal with it over somebody that solo queues their own survivor or rarely plays larger tha a duo compared to their accumulative total of survivor matches in their recent weeks to their current queue. That would leave some room for reform so that as a killer you wouldn't be prioritized for the swf lobbies forever once you change your survivor ways. Fair and balanced. Nike says just do it.

Last I checked we didn't raise ourselves :/
the problem is myspace, bebo, facebook twitter and youtube and the like did. a lot of folks these days are wired for instant gratification, have much shorter attention spans, and are extremely narcissistic and lacking in empathy especially because of the reinforcement from social media as they seek the thumbs up and wish to avoid censorship or criticism. A lot of older people are honestly becoming as warped themselves withs ome self-aware, and others just as clueless about how they've changed. The short attention span and instant gratification I've reflected back on and noticed it's become a thing for myself some point over the past ten years or so even. I'm pretty sure Idiocracy will one day be considered a documentary, maybe mistaken for one hundreds of years down the road.

if they file 100 reports and 1 or 2 of them pan out they should get the platinum ban hammer trinket, which locks them out of playing for a week. It'll help them develop a sense of how they wanna make those 98 or 99 other people feel. The internet generation are a bunch of selfish borderline sociopaths lacking empathy and highly narcissistic.

just grind your killer bp as survivor, and be certain after a few matches that you'll enjoy the killer since like any sample the first one is always free but after a few good matches you'll start hittin the swf and a big learning curve. you might wind up happier on survivor on the end. if they wind up with a killer shortage that's on them to fix not you. The bp for new players thing for the first month or so is a good idea though, especially if the player goes for wglf/bt and bbq first thing to stack with it for a nice boost now that cakes are gone or being hoarded. You gotta have some sort of incentive to work if it doesn't feel much like play eh?

if you're fast enough and on pc you might be able to kill the process if the first tip is the killer hint (like talking about totems as an example) and you are fast enought o avoid the dc strike. probably not wortht he risk though since if you do it too often assuming you were fast enougha nd weren't, enjoy the ban
I like to send survivors to hawkins and then try to make it to the safe gens first as i watch the other survivors get picked off btw sometimes. it's funny. I do that when I get bored, more rarely when I am in a bad mood due to toxic swf blaming me for their butbuddy getting itself tunneled. as survivor, hawkins is my way of blowing off steam or just having alittle bit of close ranged fun and as killer it's a green or pink mori.

I can’t even learn Legion because I keep being paired up with high ranks when I don’t even know how to play the killer AT ALL
the best advice is once you realize you're out of your league minimize it and afk, and hope that levels your "mmr" out a little faster and gets it over with. If that still happens to you after a couple more nights, start setting aside a few hours a day to pop your legion into queue then position it afk where it'll get some chase points and can be flashlighted so that the game thinks you're seeing them but can't loop them and don't know how to deal with flashlight shenaigans. that might help depending on it's settings. It's potentially the only thing under your control.
-
Yeah I started letting somebody else get them out of cages, unless the cage spawned very near to me and I was the only one around, once I figured that out while farming BP. when not farming bp though, I'll go for them it's just the nights I'm all in it for the BP and dgaf if I win or lose as long as I get enough points.
The cool thing is somebody else usually gets them out anyways since they can't really kill themselves on it lol. Even failing the skill checks is pretty slow, or at least feels very slow since I've tried it myself during boring matches. that's why I hate pyramid heads, since if I happen to meet one of the few good ones... I'm in for along match if the teams ignore me. I pretty much put the controller down and minimize it at that point lol. If I hear myself being freed I tab it back up of course, but I'm not gonna sit there and twiddle my thumbs looking at that when I could be watching a YT video instead. But that also means teammates can't bail, and can still be available as bait for the killers or even decide they still wanna play and do gens which I'll admit has happened to myself before and I've wound up escaping sometimes after seeming I was gonna be tunneled to death. That's the good thing to come from those steel cage matches.
-
yeah, definitely now more than ever it needs to have a subcondition, something like: "or finish xx matches under any conditions with this challenge accepted. match must be completed, disconnections do not count toward this total."

that would encourage abuse of the report system in the hopes somebody that wasn't cheating would turn out by sheer luck to actually have been cheating in some way and that your revenge or spite report luckily nabbed you a nifty little cosmetic with no practical use whatsoever.

I still bring up the "What about having fun?" argument, since this is the reason why I play a game - to have fun.
If you have fun to stand in front of a hooked survivor and watch them die while gens pop around you or tunnel someone to death, you can do it. I just think playing like this is hella boring and rather want good chases. (I play both roles equally, both in red ranks btw)
If perks like BT getting abused, I try to make use out of it. If someone with BT runs at me, I just hit them (if it's early game to make them mend) and go for the unhooker or I just wait it out (pretend to go for the unhooker while the person with BT tries to block me - if BT is running out, I'll down the unhooked one instead).
If a survivor with DS sits on a gen in my face I just down them and eat the DS if it's early game to get rid of it or slug them til it runs out in endgame.
Same for flashlights. If someone clicks at you and want to be chased, just ignore them and go for someone else. They'll often follow you instead of doing gens. You can often bait the flashlight safe to get free hits on them.
Tbh I rather go against a "bully" squad where I can take advanage of in some scenarios than against 4 Blendettes just rushing gens. I had a game a few days ago against a 4 man SWF where all 4 run me around the shack, trying stupid things with head on and flashlights and at first I thought it will be a terrible match, but this was one of the most fun game I've had for a long time. They were all running around for good chases, literally nobody did a gen and I got a 3k and gave the last one hatch. Also turned out they were really nice people in the chat. This was way more entertaining than 3 gens poping at the same time when you get your first hook.
As killer I also play to have fun. But I'm having fun by just playing normally - but tbh I also don't really care about kills or pips. I just play the game and sometimes even try stupid things, that also kinde cost me kills. But I also noticed when I play just for fun, most survivors just join in. Yesterday I had a game as Piggy and I noticed pretty early that I was going against a really skilled group that were far above my skill level. So istead of swaeting for kills, I just tried out stupid #########, testing my ability with the dash and so on, just having a little fun myself. They noticed it pretty quickly and just joined in to try stupid things in the game. It wasn't a farming round or anyting, just everyone having fun for a few minutes and booping snoots. In the end, 2 of them even sacrificed themself on endgame in the exit gate to give me more points.
I really enjoy rounds like that, but I also don't take this game serious at all. maybe that's why.
If you want to stand in front of hooks, have fun with that I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why would you give those twits anything? I would have 4k then casually said "GGWP" in chat then stayed a few seconds to see if I p*ssed any of them off so I could report them for toxicity in the endgame chat.

Just one of many who don't understand how MMR works. Another doomsayer who can't accept change. Remember when everyone said if ruin was changed all killers would quit. Here we are with even more players than before.
Addiction is serious business, it took me most of a year to stop gambling on raid shitow legends and I'd gambled over 3k in that less than a full year while spending almost half of that time wanting to quit over every fiasco up until I finally did about a couple of months ago. Give it time. Once people had neough of the bs, and accept the fact that da nile ain't just a river in egypt and it will never change they will in time quit. And the longer it takes getting there the less trust they have left and the more fed up they are making it almost a certainty there will be no way to get those players (or gamblers in the case of some things) back.
Once enough killers leave for good, or worst case decide to never touch killer again but still add to survivor pools' size while depriving the killer queue of one more host... the game is frakked. I just saw that happen earlier in this year to another 'asymmetrical' that repeatedly chat on it's killer side and after one patch too many they left and from what I've heard to this day never came back no matetr how big the effort to do a 180 on all that was. There's too many other games to play, and this is becoming a saturated genre just like mobas and battle royales became. Nobody is gonna come back if they leave in such a state of mind, especially once they find a new home and become invested in that instead.
So tread carefully, for you tread upon your own dreams behavior. the players will just chase their own elsewhere after they've been unhappy and felt neglected long enough, remember that before you decide to next ruin the moris next without creating an opt out for swf lol. The only killers you'll have left, if you're not careful, are gonna be the streamers and the sweaty tryhards that'll run the casuals and their skins money off of the game and most of either side that is lost would never come back. I've seen it happen before, doesn't matter how many thousands play... they can all be gone in less than a couple of weeks after one bad patch.
-
pretty sur eit would be dead lol since every time I spent a night, including last night, checking profiles in lobbies where at least one I could see their friend list most lobbies had at least one duo when not two duos or a trio with 4 man being less common though i still came across some of those as well. Obviously I had to stop dodging the double duo lobbies or killer would literal become unplayable for the lobbies I got, the longest I was willing to spend was around 45 minutes to pushing an hour before finally taking the duos to get it over with. yes, I've spent almost a whole hour dodging swf lobbies on more than one occasion once I got fed enough up with them. now with new mmr you won't even have the hope of the rando filling in a trio's lobby being potato enough to make winning possible since it'll eventually only be the solos able to handle themselves. Meaning I'm not gonna waste my money on killer skins any more since I won't be able to enjoy doing well with any specific killer for too many nights in a row unless I afk on them for at least a couple of hours a day to offset any decent matches.
Postscript: Even if the graph above was truthful and accurate (always questionable if it isn't done by a neutral third party and is instead information presented to you by the company protecting it's game and profits especially in today's world) even that picture still shows that about half the games had some sort of swf even it was just duo lol.

I tried a name afterward in one match for a twitch stream and the guy was talking in russian and his twitch page was written in russian. I also saw a couple other russian guys that day playing on the UK region servers lol. I'd make a joke about what else to expect, but I was doing it too that day and we're not allowed to be funny in 2020.

Ah, yes, enslaved nice mmr
I see we have VPN survivors now too lmao... can't say I blame them if they're facing the survivor equivalent to dealing with a swf sweat squad in the MM.
he turnip name looks familiar to me, think I've played against them before. My brain is telling me a stealth killer, might have been wraith. If it's who I'm thinking, they were pretty sweaty and it was a mix of fun and adrenaline pumping but also pretty edgy against them and I got killed in the end. Can't remember if they said anything end game or though, so I can't remember if they were friendly it might have been one of those where I got so intense I backed out and took a moment to vape afterwards which usually only happens when I play killer. It feels like that sort of a match to myself when thinking of it, which I didn't always have on survivor.
It can be pretty fun when it happens as survivor though, I played against a huntress once who actually made it feel like a genuine horror game. One of the most fun matches I had even though it was pretty sweaty. Sweaty matches as survivor are often the fun kind of sweat, but sweaty as killer often feels more like work than fun for me though.

Maybe the monthly reset will affect Decay? Or maybe if it'll start decreasing passively if you're not play one side or another for a certain amount of time? We don't know. BHVR won't give much details on their new MMR system because it'd open up player exploitation.
they're gonna do that anyways

I know a lot of people post on here ranting about the aforementioned, and say that they're done with this game cause they got salty about something. And it seems to annoy people a bit, so i'm sorry if this does, but I feel like I have an actual constructive reason for posting this. Devs, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please enable mouse and keyboard on console. I actually posted about this a little bit ago but in that post I neglected to mention that not having it when I play is driving me half insane. I cant deal without it anymore. Even after the sensitivity buff, survivors are still able to dodge hits way too easilly. Im constantly getting 360'd out of hits when I shouldn't. Survivors on console always try to run behind your back, knowing that you will have a hard time hitting them. They will literally run behind your back and stay there so that you can't even turn to look at them. By the time you can see them again they're too far away to hit. So you pretty much have to blindly lunge behind you and oftentimes the survivor is able to dodge the hit by moving SLIGHTLY in the opposite direction, and you miss by a fraction of an inch, giving them ample time to get to another loop. This happens to me every single game. It's actually caused me to lose the game on several occasions, and I'm just done with it. And thats not even mentioning the fact that huntress and nurse are borderline unplayable without keyboard and mouse, and those are my fav killers, which rubs it in even more. I've played Nurse for at least a few hundred hours and I still struggle with her when I feel like I shouldn't. I actually had one of my worst games ever with her earlier, so you can probably imagine how pathetic I feel, having invested so much of my life into this killer, just to suck at playing her. I LOVE this game and i dont wanna stop playing, but I'm not going to play a game in which your opponents can use technical limitations against you to work in their favor. (limitations that they themselves do not suffer from, since from what i've heard survivors are not hindered from playing on controller.) It's not fair, plain and simple. I will gladly go against SWF death squads, I'll eat DS like it's candy, and I will gladly die to NoED every other game because I refused to do the smart thing and GTFO cuz I had to try and save my teammates. But I feel like this is a fair place to draw the line. So on principle I'm putting DBD down for now. And if the devs are reading this, please do the right thing. There's no reason that console players shouldn't have the same playability as someone on PC. I probably sound like a killer main, but I'm not, I play both sides. It's just that this issue doesnt hurt survivors at all really. And sorry if this seems like i'm salty and complaining, but this is something that needs to be said. The fact of the matter is that survivors have an inherent advantage on console that wasnt intended, and they should not have. Enabling keyboard and mouse requires pretty much no effort, and if the devs won't do that then I'm afraid I have no business playing this awesome game anymore. Losing games because I have to play on a controller completely ruins my fun so there's really no reason to play anymore.
There is a portion where you mention you heard the survivors don't have the same issues with a controller... implying you don't play survivor or haven't much but then you followed it with a long noed statement which implies itself you play survivor sometimes and therefore should have a feel for how the controller pans out as a survivor on the console ports. Might just be a bit of a biden moment there, but my cynical mind is suspecting foul play. I wonder if we are being trolled. Or if you are testing if someone would actually read the wall of china.
