you should never read a twitter rant from some shut-in activist manchild and give it serious consideration
-
- No secondary objective for survivors
- The chat filter that censored "Yun-Jin" yesterday
- Absurd window RNG turning buildings into either god loops or dead zones
-
Forcing the survivor to take a shot in the dark was braindead and cowardly, Spirit deserved the nerf.
The Deathslinger nerf though, that was way out of left field and now he's bootleg Huntress. That TR nerf especially should be reverted entirely.
As a Clown player, I don't think my killer of choice is realistically being looked at for nerfs, so I'm safe.
-
Anything the streamers cry about will be parroted by hordes
No one said a damn thing until the actual problems got nerfed. Salty killers immediately diverted their gaze to the next-best item, because despite the game being easier for killer than it ever has been before, they need something to blame their losses on.
I've never in my life dodged a medkit lobby or thought any differently about a player with a medkit. The things I had a problem with are gone. There are over a dozen medkit counters in this game, people just don't want to give up one of their 4 slowdown perks or pick an instadown killer.

No, I see what he is saying. 'Use x killer' to counter specific addons doesn't work, because we can't change killers at the match selection screen. 'Use x perk' doesn't work, because smart survivors time their switch to addons so that you can't change perks in time.
At the very least, survivors shouldn't be able to change addons at the last second. If you change addons, it should automatically 'unready' the killer and allow them to alter their perks.
There is no penalty for dashboarding out of the game and reloading if they last-second switch to 4 medkits

Legit one of the few things I vehemently disagree with him on lol. Although tbf he kind of means Ranger and Emergency Medkits with tons of charges, which I at least understand.
I proved him 100% wrong and he just went on to make up an impossible framework
He isn't arguing balance at this point, he's just refusing to accept what's in front of him.

So let's end this here. And yes, exactly i should be able to counter it with trapper with no add-ons or item is overpowered
You straight-up fabricated a design philosophy that doesn't exist. Anyone that plays this game more than a week will have at least one medkit counter at their disposal.

It doesn't work like that with toolboxes, flashlights maps or keys

Perks which counter another perks? Sure why not, but why you should have certain perk (they're paid btw) or certain killer (which is just random because you can't change them) to counter base survivor mechanic? Dodging a lobby is not a counter either
"What are the counters to this item?"
"Here's a crazy-long list of counters to this item"
"No those don't count because I should be able to counter it as perkless trapper with no addons"
You're not worth talking to. You're just going to keep trying to shoot down everything I say with made-up prerequisites.
-
There is nothing wrong with adrenaline and you're overplaying how much it hurts the killer
Other than that I agree

Medkits are base survivor items. They supposed to have some base gameplay counter without perks. You can't switch killer and if you have no certain perks in your loadout you're screwed. And even if you have one that's barely a counter
No one in the history of this game has ever said that, you're just making up qualifications. If you somehow don't have a single thing to counter, just dodge the lobby.

What about real counters? You can not call perks and certain killers counters to an item. How should you play to counter medkits?
Let's say you're wraith or twins and you rely much on splitting the damage and you don't have certain perks against 4man squad with medkits. Your actions?
->You cannot call perks and certain killer counters to an item
What a ridiculous statement. Actually absurd deflection. Does Distortion not counter BBQ? Does Detective's Hunch not counter Hex perks?

You get an entire minute in the lobby to select your perks, don't act like you're supposed to have free counterplay no matter what you're running. It doesn't work like that for anything.

Franklin's
Plague
Oni
Bubba
Starstruck
Make Your Choice
Dragon's Grip
Mike Myers
Ghostface
Sloppy Butcher
Coulrophobia

The only OP item left in the game is medkit, but no worries, nobody will use them with circle of healing (thanks, bhvr)
There is nothing OP about medkits, there's a dozen counters in the game already
If you link me that Scott Jund video I'm throwing hands
-
I threatened to beat them up (I'm gonna do it)
-
On killer: Discordance, I can't let them crank out a key generator in 40 seconds.
On survivor: Botany + Desperate Measures, default healing is painfully slow.

Well it is also called Dead By "Daylight"
A hiding survivor is not helping their team

They won't do anything. Their internal policy is that hackers are customers. I had a hacker repeatedly lobby snipe me tonight. Good stuff.
That's stupid
If anything there's a motive to ban hackers ASAP because they'll have to keep buying the game
-
I've made thread after thread about garbage killer perks with obvious ways to make them decent, and only just now with the new patch have I seen progress towards that goal.
-
The devs are very hesitant with killer perks because they have a higher chance of tipping the scales when used on the S-tier killers
-
I'm just glad there's no Prove Thyself-esque boon (yet)
I just wouldn't play killer if that was in the game
-
I'd rather just have a preliminary objective so that spawns could still have variation

Deathslinger is a total baller

Pre nerf undying the totems lost all tokens, which is what I assumed you were referencing based on the verbiage used since it only had synergy with ruin pre nerf.
I must've been cleansing Undying when that happened then. I only saw Undying when it came out and for a couple weeks before it got nerfed, as I took a hiatus from this game.

Not devour, ruin
Ruin/Undying: "Oh no this 5 minute game is now 7 minutes"
Devour/Undying: "SHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT I'm dead"
-
Those 2 things are far from comparable. MoM was game-ruining and Undying was only really OP with Devour.

Short answer: Run 4 Slowdown, git gud.
Long answer: get good at natural tracking/prediction/real time mapping and stop letting the game hold your hand..... also let it hold your hand and run 4 slowdown perks.
Hard to "naturally track" when 2 guys can crank out a generator in 40 seconds
At that point, it doesn't matter how good your "natural tracking" is, you need to make a mad dash for that generator as soon as they're on it, or it's gone

You pose a great point by saying that not having at least 1 information perk feels like a great disadvantage. About JUST GENS though is where this gets interesting.
I, personally, love information perks in regards to HEALING so that being injured is much more of a threat to the survivors. Nurse's Calling is an obvious one, so that you can stop heals before a survivor goes up a state. DeathBound is a fun one. You get to know where survivors like to run off to hide so that they can heal up safely. If they heal and it doesn't Proc, the heal took place nearby. These two pair very well for a lot of mischief 😈
Different brains think different ways. I enjoy Nurse's Calling, but I find myself getting more pressure out of Discordance. If they want to stop and heal, at least they're not making gen progress.
-
I'd be happy with them just taking the RNG out of the main buildings entirely
I get that RNG somewhat keeps the game fresh so it's not "run this way every time", but the RNG with most main buildings is surreal. You could be running into a god loop or a garbage heap, you don't know unless you checked before-hand.
-
Not being able to remove them permanently is bonkers
-
That's a whole killer leveled 1-35 in a single game

Hex totems are also automatically installed at the start of the game, affect the entire map, don't have an audio cue to help find them, and take 14 seconds to break.
Boon totems take 14 seconds to break -after- finding one, affect only their area, indicate their position innately, and take 2 seconds to snuff out. Sure, you can put it in a spot where the killer is unlikely to patrol, but that also puts it out of the way for you, meaning you get less benefit from it.
Sure, Deliverance gets used. Once in every 30 matches, maybe. Doesn't mean it's in an okay spot and it definitely doesn't mean it's a balance level we should be aiming at.
I would unironically rather have to place my hex totems than have the current system, that'd actually be better than most random totem spawns.
Currently boons are just hexes-but-better

Speed and percentage speed with capping just like you mentionned. Kind of an Iron will treatment.
4 medkits in a lobby in incredibly strong. If thats a green with addons, that nulifies a lot of pressure a killer could build.
you can dodge the lobby if you don't want to fight 4 medkits

Really feels like medkits are too powerful, I think the whole healing system will be looked at.
What could they possibly rework about the healing system that's not "Heal guy until bar is full"?

PC, the least popular platform.
Source? As far as I know, PC is the biggest platform, since it's where the game originally launched, keeping in mind that "console" is not one platform.
They don't show the numbers for console, but from what I've deduced:
- Steam DBD has about 30k-50k people on any given day.
- DBD costs next to nothing on console because it's always in bundles & sales on Xbox game pass.
- Xbox live is a vastly more popular service in general and the frequency of PC players goes up only when your MMR gets high.
- I introduced 3 new PC players recently and the vast majority of people they get matched with are on console.

Those are people with a script on PC, the least popular platform. Very few people obtain this game through those networks because it's not a thing on console.

It actually hit a 105, 093 peak at 5th anniversary launch not RE chapter.
That's just on PC alone, which you must remember is the least popular platform.

How much of those are bots/throwaway accounts though with all these hackers. And then you have to add up households buying multiple copies for different platforms since no cross progression between some. The game is like 6$ most of the time if not 15$ so it's very easy for cheaters to keep creating new accounts
There are very few bots on this game because there's not much to gain. There's no trading or items to farm for the steam market.
The average player has 1, maybe 2 copies if they have both a console and a PC. I don't know anyone who would bother to buy it on every platform because there's no cross-progression and it would take forever to get what you want.
-
The game has sold 20-something million copies, so that's probably already happened

@Aven_Fallen said:
You wont get more dynamic with that. It would just be the case that Survivors would cleanse the Hex and bless another Totem. Also, there is the possibility that the Survivors cannot use Boon-Perks at all if the Killer is using 4 Hexes (until they cleansed Haunted Grounds, which frees one Totem). And if No Mither will not stop Bloodorbs, because there is the possibility of 0,0000001% that 4 Survivors use No Mither and deny Oni his power (and this is one of the reasons why this change will never happen), something that prevents Survivor Perks from being used (aka 4 Hexes on the Killers Side which is probably not that much more likely) will also not be implemented.
But as I said, even if they do it, there is no dynamik at all. Just more M1-Pressing from the Survivor.
using 4 hexes to counter 4 potential hexes sounds fair to me

Huntresses do that a lot
Not on purpose, but it happens a lot

Because not only is it statistically unlikely, but it is also the oldest cope in the book. Anytime Survivors display any level of game sense, Killers seem to assume they're facing one of these SWF DEATH SQUADS.
I think it'd be great if we could see who's in party with who, not only would that allow Killers to prepare, yes for some that would mean lobby dodge, but it will also dispel this myth of all good solo players being in a squad at all times.
We've seen the datamines and know that there are vastly more high-mmr killers than survivors
the small survivor pool is largely SWF

If it's a huge map then the boon totems won't be strong lmao. You're acting like map isn't huge for survivors as well lmao.
Even if it's a huge map, they'll still take up the majority of the map with a SWF running them
112 meters is pretty much map-sized
