Five totems at 14 seconds cleansing time each gives us a total of 70 seconds to cleanse all of them, a far shot from 160 seconds, which is the time it takes to repair two generators.
If every survivor in the group just looked for totems on their way to every next objective and cleansed them it doesn't even add up to that much extra time.
And finally if you're working on the one of the final generators and you see some bones in front of you? Leave them a minimum of 1 in (5 - n), where n is the number of totems you personally have cleansed and confirmed other broken bones, of having the NoED hex totem activate in front of you is better than zero percent.
Hell, I get how frustrating NoED can be for solo queue, I personally only play solo when I play survivor, but that tiny amount of additional time that it takes to cleanse totems are insignificant compared to how little time killers have to kill all survivors if they are actually doing generators. Which brings me to the actual crux of the problem, you are either not as good as you think and struggle because you and your teammates are not doing generators quick enough or you just last less than 10 seconds per chase.
If we compare the time for a killer to down twelve survivors to one survivor repairing five generators we get that the killer is the one that has no time compared to survivors. Assuming 15 seconds per hit, to make it a really simple comparison each hit happens 15 seconds after each other, also assuming only one survivor repairing five generators that are unrealistically right next to each other in a line. This gives us a total time for killers of 360 seconds and 400 seconds for one survivor to complete the generators.
So from someone that plays solo queue survivor I will leave you these words, do bones.
Not factoring in travel time or the complete ineptitude of solo teams in general. If you unironically stop and do 5 dull totems, it's more likely that you will have wasted bare minimum 70 seconds.
The only real counter to NOED in solo queue is to not go for endgame unhooks, so as to not reward the killer using NOED
-
It would be exactly the same except killers would add Corrupt and survivors would add Soul Guard
-
What kind of opposite world do you live in? Map's at least a free 3k as killer, the 3-gens are so tightly clustered that I can see them all from one point. The pallets are trash and the saloon generator should be left alone since it's at the only strong loop
-
That would just make this simple game more monotonous
-
Just waste 2 generators of time on a maybe

I don't see why Freddy is so low

Give us a hard one lol

Oh god, here come the cryers that hate it when a killer has good, off-meta builds
yes, let's nerf Frank's and Hoarder so that the Pinheads will use Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/BBQ like every other killer

If you want some actual decent items, you're meant to combo chest-searching perks with Plunderer's Instinct, such as Appraisal, Ace in the Hole, and/or Pharmacy. Your chances of finding good items is not that high with Plunderer's, as it's main function is to show you the auras of chests, the increased rarity is a bonus, but I'm sure if someone found the numbers, you'd see it's not that good. Even still, realistically all you should hope to find in a chest is a brown med kit, or maybe a flashlight or yellow+ toolbox. The brown med kit is one full health state, as well.
This just isn't true
The whole point of Plunderer's is that you consistently get greens and purple, brown items don't happen often when you have that perk

I don't mind him. He's just another jack-of-all-trades killer like Freddy

Nemesis would be more fun if he was a woman with big knockers

I've said it in the past, but I'll say it again, Teachables should be reworked into their own rarity and give a worse version of the perk.
Some examples
| Survivors |
Dead Hard - Gives Exhaustion for 120 seconds instead of 60, when used on David it keeps its tiers, going from 60 / 50 / 40 (all Exhaustion Perks could use this formula)
Unbreakable - Allows you to pick yourself up once, doesn't give you a recovery boost
Soul Guard - Gives Endurance for 5 seconds as opposed to 8 seconds, 60 second cooldown (one or the other, but the former would have more of an effect)
Flashbang - Requires a full generator to be completed solo
Inner Strength - 20 seconds to heal self in locker (still faster than Self Care, speaking of...)
Self Care - Heals at 35% Healing Speed, making Botany required (which would also be nerfed, probably to 20%
Deception - A cooldown of 90 seconds
| Killers |
BBQ And Chili - Increase its range to 56 meters, still useful if its far out, but not so much if they're somewhat close
Nurse's Calling - 16 Meters
Thanataphobia (sorry Legion) - 3% penalty per injury
Tinkerer - 85% Gen Progression required to trigger
Pop Goes The Weasel - 15% Regression after hook, or a time of 30 seconds to activate
Hex: Ruin - 125% Regression
Hex: Undying - No longer shows auras when around a Dull Totem
this just enforces a strict meta
-
Sweaty to the max on my main (Clown)
I have to resort to proxy-camping and 3-gen standoffs pretty often. They all use meta perks and think they're hot #########, so I have to play dirty to stay in the running
Still about 50/50 winrate, so I guess SBMM is working as intended, but playing nice is impossible now.

Gonna have to disagree with that. About a year and a half ago, iirc, there was little to no cheating. The first 3 years I played this game, there were was 1 cheater I ran into. There have been two major surges in cheating, these past two weeks, and a few months ago.
This game used to have almost no cheaters in it, then there was suddenly cheaters everywhere.
It is frustrating to know that the anti-cheat for this game is not what it used to be.
I've seen 2 hackers in all my time on DBD, people are eager to throw out accusations when a lot of the time it's either lag or a perk that could be mistaken for cheating (like Second Wind)
-
ok
-
There is no hacking problem
There are as many hackers in this game as any other multiplayer game

it's a new patch, people are all stuck together give it a month for people to spread out.
And as people have said indivdual killers have their own mmr, So anyone playing pinheead is affectivly regarded as a newbie as they have no mmr. Never mind it could Be otz or whoever playing it.
They've been collecting MMR data for months and months. Survivor players are where they're meant to be, it's only veteran killers playing Pinhead that messes with the matchmaking RN.

This mechanic is fine the way it is. You shouldn't be able to hit a skill check while running away. It's the exact same as if you were startled while repairing something and jumping made you break it instead.
If anything, the Overcharge skill check should work like normal skill checks.
Except the survivor didn't do anything to warrant their generator being blown up. They had no opportunity to avoid it.

sigh
a boon totem can’t be as strong as a hex or else power scaling will occur, boons should be 1/4th the strength of a hex
due to it being a 1v4 game, 4 boons will be as strong as 1 hex, if 1 boon is as strong as 1 hex, that can cause 4 of the same boons to be used, causing a balance issue, this is a 4v1 game, not a 1v1 game
For a hex to be worth it, it must be theoretically better than the other perks you have at your disposal
Survivors already have crazy good perks at their disposal, what does that tell you?
-
"Please remove my counterplay so I can camp harder"

@Hoodied said:
We don’t even know what the boon totem perk(s) will be yet, how can we assume a mechanic is op when we can only read what boons are, not what the boons we are getting
Hexes aren't worth running unless they're crazy strong, that's the whole reason for the totem mechanic.
-
INB4 they band-aid fix it by forcing an anti-totem perk on us, lest we feel the wrath of Hex: Dead Harder

From what I observed on the ptb his chains can shutdown a loop. Granted they overstated the case as it doesn't work on larger loops. At least not from what I saw.
His chains shut down loops where the survivor is already unsafe, like Midwich pallets
His power is overall just dollar store Clown bottle 90% of the game, with 10% of the game being useful slowdown with his box

That's like saying someone is terrible because they hate Trickster. He isn't strong, but he is annoying asf.
He unironically thinks that Pinhead, the guy who's power is crap unless you're in the wide-open, can shut down loops on a whim
Reread that comment and tell me it wasn't a hilariously bad take

I can't believe they'd remove something that was just being used for unfair advantages and bullying Killers! Don't they know how important it is to bully Killers in this game?
I have never been bullied in this fashion

BHVR's balance decisions are made like this:
First, they throw darts at a board. That board is divided into 3 segments: Buff, Nerf and Rework
Then they play roulette with various perk icons, and characters and items
Then they pull a slot machine for number changes
Those results are then implemented into the game

He feels worse than Freddy to me. You have to stop doing gens or else you can't do gens. He gets to know your location for free and teleports to you, and he can shut down loops entirely by pressing a button. Exhaustion perks and pallets are irrelevant because you have to avoid the player and the hooks that immobilize you.
But I'm glad they devs made another chapter solely for killers that ruins the game for solo survivors. Honestly, this could be the last straw that makes me delete the game entirely. It's just not fun to play as a solo survivor anymore.

He clearly did if you jumped on a random discussion just to crap on him.
The best part about all this is that I don't even really care about Trickster - I appreciate the character from a creative standpoint and their masterful ability to blend flamboyance with slasher horror, but I mostly just like pissing people off by baiting people with Trickster mentions and watching the clearly offended people go out of their way to shite on the character and anyone who doesn't pretend he's the worst thing since [INSERT SECONDARY PERSONAL GRIEVANCE]
I jumped in on a discussion to read someone's take on the female killers and you were typing out novels about Trickster
You are the only person worked up in this thread and you're embarrassing yourself

I knew it. I absolutely ######### knew it. It's always the slasher puritans who go out if their way to crap on Trickster. I'm so sorry that a flamboyant slasher offended your delicate sensibilities, and I hope that one day soon you can overcome your blind devotion to the genre and admit that none of the killers you worship have any real motivation or do anything but brutally murder people up close.
He doesn't "offend my sensibilities" any more than when my niece would watch Big Time Rush in the living room

Look, the puritans are mad! No flamboyance allowed! It doesn't matter if a killer is a twised, one-dimensional psychopath that uses close-up weapons to violently kill random people they have no connection to in order to satisfy their bloodlust! That's not at all like other slashers becuase this one has bright jackets!
Trickster was a big bucket of cringe for anyone that doesn't whack it to Jimin
-
Half the female killers are gross, this trend exists only in your mind
-
Clown licking his blade and saying "Lemme at those pinkies!"
-
I don't feel like it qualifies as "braindead" any more than those god window loops.
it doesn't take skill to loop the window on groaning storehouse, that's a guaranteed time sink for the killer. There are dozens of loops just like it and that's why Bamboozle is necessary.
-
The counterplay to NOED isn't to do bones, it's to just crank out the gens and leave without going for a late unhook. That's it.
Don't save your friend, just leave, and the killer gets their one crutch-kill instead of taking the team. Your chances of a win are exponentially higher playing like this. If you spent 2 gens worth of time running around for dulls, you've wasted too much time and your team is going to lose, NOED or not.
That's the problem with this perk, it requires a HUGE time sink on the survivor's end on the off-chance the killer has it
-
"and it isn't a hard one at that"
Record yourself doing 5 totems in soloQ and show the killer's perks in the post-game screen
I want to see how many times you waste an astronomical amount of time for no reason

Yeah, a few seconds of vision at the beginning is totally worthy of 25% of your build. The sad part is most perks are so dog that I am not even being sarcastic.
I thought the same thing but a lot of high-level killers slobber over it, apparently they find the first chase THAT important
Personally I'd rather use Whispers and have a perk that helps both early and end-game

Not only is it unfun it actively hinders a clown player learning. It encourages you to just spams direct bottles at someone until you get the direct and go for a down. I’m all for playstyle changing add ons but they have to be interesting changes
Fun isn't a balance metric and the game doesn't operate on your tastes
