That reminds me, all chase music in DbD should be replaced with
A classic, albeit a bit cliche choice.

What, you don't like the BBQ?

This song works both while being camped and when playing as bubba regularly.

You mean a member of staff at BHVR? Only very recently did they change this practice and they're currently hiring I believe metal musicians for the role if my web is to be believed.
They did hire metal vocalists for Leon, Jill and Nemesis, i believe the interview with them on youtube regarding that is still up.
-
Most Favorite: Alot to choose from but to pick a few, i'll go with The lore, the variety of killer power, cosmetics and charms, the indoor maps and realm beyond.
Least Favorite: Not everyone but a large portion of the community who is on social medias, especially on youtube and twitter.

Got mine on day 1

I think what i love about Bubba alot is that he can bypass Dead Hard completely, since Survivors instinctively heals themselves as soon as they're off the hook. Also to this day, Bubba's rework is without a doubt the best thing that happened to him since it made him objectively better to play as compared to his older and less efficient version outside of camping and in general, is one of the best reworks DBD has done for killers to this day.

- Supernatural - Winchesters as the Survivors, a Demon who can briefly possess survivors as the killer, and the Bunker as the map (or maybe the Crossroads with Dean’s car parked nearby). My guess is if this was ever going to happen it would have happened when the show was on the air.
- The Final Destination - Have a killer that in an invisible avatar which uses the environment and props to kill survivors. Thematically it would be awesome but mechanically it would be a beast to figure out how to make it work so it’ll never happen.
- Child’s Play - Chucky would be hilarious, just not sure how they’d do hooks.
- Alien - Would fit well but it’s owned by Disney/Marvel and I doubt they’d grant the license.
- The Omen - I like the movie but Damien’s a kid so it would never be in the game (all the killers must be adults). (I guess unless they did the Sam Neil adult version from Omen 3?)
- Event Horizon - This would be such a cool map but I get the sense they don’t want something that sci fi? Also a Sam Neil bad guy. 😉
I remember Cote said in a past interview that Chucky's height wouldn't be a problem if he ever got into DBD since they could come up with creative solutions to it.
-
Tormented Souls and the original Clock Tower
-
I'll take any in-door maps over outdoor maps any day.
-
Ngl, not a fan of most of these.
-
While I did pick candyman, i would much rather see more movie licenses from outside the US.
-
They gave us lobby music yet neglects to give us chase music aswell.
-
Having such a major J-horror IP like ring joining the game is very much exciting for me, hope Juon and other J-horror movies will be coming to the game aswell in the future.
-
I can think of a few myself
- Bubba is one of the most enjoyable killers to play as.
- MMR has given me more fairer matches than what the old ranking system ever did.
- All killer reworks and mini rework has either made them better or more tolerable to play as or against.
- Realm Beyond made most, if not everything look better to me and i hope to see more of them in the future. (hyped for the haddonfield rework that's coming)
- Playing DBD alongside other games helps keeping the experience fresh for me when i return to play.
- I don't think DBD has nearly enough licensed characters or legendary skins as it should have.
- Charms adds more flavor to the characters and i hope we get the ability to buy past rift charms in the future aswell.

Possibly, Im not sure. My experience developing any sort of maps for gameplay experience comes from Dming (and that was for AD&D, what the kids call 2.0, so it was a bit ago)
I just think cutting it into 2 maps in some way is the correct answer.
I don't actually agree with that approach, or at least i would first like to test it to see if it would be more beneficial than not, also i think that there could possibly be better solutions aswell for the map such as perhaps modifying the map a bit to have more ways to get up and down between both floors since they've already opened up more pathways than what there was originally in the RE2 remake, or adding more directional signs for people get easier around aswell.

Best solution there, imo is to do what I really wish they did with RCPD. Cut it in half and make 2 maps. East/West. Top/bottom. Whichever
I don't think an east/west variant would be a good idea, if anything it just sounds like it would make the map too small to fit all 7 generators with enough distance to one another and make it too easy for the killer to camp the last 3, especially for those who know their way around the map.
-
I always appreciate the quality of life changes that comes with the mid chapter patches, aswell as alot of other things that's come to the game over the years.
-
I never found Boil Over to be that big of a deal to begin with, you can literally just turn the camera the opposite side of which you're moving towards to nullify the perk's intensity of the Struggle Effects.

I admit I haven't read too many of King's books, but I still really like his work.
For a killer, I'd have to say either Jack Torrance or Pennywise. If I had to pick, Jack, though I really like both.
I know Jack is just a guy with an axe, but honestly, I kinda want more human-like killers like Legion and Trickster instead of big, monstrous powerhouses like Trapper and Huntress or deformed monsters like Hag and Blight.
Plus, the Overlook would be a fantastic map if done well.
While i'm personally all for more indoor maps, i don't think everyone would be a fan of the overlook hotel as a map considering the tight corridors and how extensive the whole map would be to cover all the iconic locations inside the hotel itself, and that's not even counting for the outside area and the massive labyrinth there.
-
Not at all, it just gives me more time to get to them and franklin the box out of their hands to use it myself.
-
Seems like it worked for some and but not everyone.
-
Just pick whatever you like the most.
Althou personally I'd go with chatterer because i like the chattering noises he makes.

True. Although I think BHVR tried to get Pennywise a while ago (The Devs are huge fans of Stephen King) but the License holders rejected because they were busy with the 2nd film.
I still think Pennywise has a pretty high chance of joining the killer roster. I am pretty sure the Devs will do anything to get their hands on him.
I wouldn't hold my breath for it, however if they did manage to get any of king's IPs, then it would be quite a surprise for sure.

Getting a Killer Klowns chapter is pretty slim to none. Pennywise has a higher chance of getting that 2nd clown spot.
Although it would be nice to at least get a Jumbo Clown Legendary Outfit for The Clown. Hopefully the noises would be added with it.
Even then, Pennywise or anything from Stephen King for that matter has just as much of a slim chance to make it into DBD, since there hasn't been anything in terms of video game content related to king's work in almost 3 decades by now.

Something i remember hearing Cote talk about a good while back in an interview regarding licensed killers is that all killers that comes into the game have to follow certain ground rules for it to work. (such as being able to chase someone, hitting them upclose with a weapon, picking them up and carry them, hooking them, interacting with things such as pallets/windows/lockers.) While you can make aesthetic changes to how the character is portrayed doing those actions, they still have to be able to do those actions in the end regardless.
That's why humanoid creatures works the best.
-
Best: Either Hellraiser or Leatherface
Worst: I don't really dislike any of them, but if i have to pick one then I'd go for Ghost Face.
-
Reject Hillbilly, Return to Bubba
-
Speculation, but i see two possibilities here.
It's either a Survivor who we don't know of, who took it with them when they got snatched by the Entity.
or
The Lament Configuration was taken into the fog by the Entity itself because it might have sensed the power within the box.
-
Personally, the most recent seasonal events has been pretty decent/enjoyable imo, so i'm more optimistic about this coming lunar event.

Are we sure that's going to be the skin, though? It looks awesome, but the trailer image for Bill in Tome 7 wasn't the skin we got. I'm withholding my expectations until the tome itself comes out.
Bill got the outfit he was shown in the trailer for Tome 7 with the only different being that he's not young, can't say the same for spirit's outfit in the trailer for tome 2 aswell as Yui's outfit in the trailer for tome 6.
-
No thanks, gonna have to pass on that one.
-
I rather have any and all voice lines during the trial be a thing for Killers only.
-
I think what could be considered toxic elitism from having your MMR revealed is the scenario where people with higher mmr starts to dismiss or disregard the opinions of people with less mmr because only the opinions those with higher mmr should be considered valid.
-
I think i would rather see a dbd killer as a guest character in Mortal Kombat instead.

I feel like people have forgotten how incredibly unfun old Freddy was and that people would DC en masse to get out of games with him.
Don't get me wrong, his design was much more inspired, but his actual implementation was horrid.
Personally hope old freddy never makes a return as i had alot of things i didn't like about him, I think my biggest gripe with old freddy was his 7 second transition, there was nothing more unfun than having to sit and watch Survivors finish repairing a generator or breaking your totem right in front of you while being unable to do anything about it for several seconds.
-
I personally hope she's nothing like him, was never a fan of old freddy.

Sadako isn’t male in the books. She’s still a woman, she’s just… complicated.
Fair point, i forgot that she was actually intersex.
-
The very existence of voice comm is going to nullify any shape-shifting powers completely, which is why we're most likely never going to get a The Thing chapter.
-
Thing i like the most about LF is his easy bypassing of Dead Hard since Survivors keep healing each other immediately
Thing i don't like is how you have to time your charges right before it empties completely, instead of just having it so that you just need to click once and then it'll automatically use another charge once the current charge depletes.

They are same. They are coming from same license. Samara is American version and Sadako is Japan version.
They're owned by the same license holder yes, however i was mainly talking about how they differentiate from one another in terms of lore and also how Sadako is an adult male in the novel while Samara is a little girl in the movie remake.

Wait...why didn't they clarify that information a long time ago? Would've saved them a lot of grief.
Just seems off.
Agree, it could have saved them alot, but like most games that has a social media account such as twitter, they only post and talk about things that's related to their game since that's what said accounts are dedicated to in most cases, and now that the NFT is no longer something related to DBD or BHVR, it's not something they're gonna talked about on official game accounts.

They'll make Sadako as similar to Spirit as they can. Then everyone will drop her for Sadako. That's why they nerfed Billy to the ground and put Bubba in the spotlight and they would do the same to Spirit.
I doubt Billy's nerf had anything to do with Bubba, seems more like speculation than anything.
Also i highly doubt Sadako is gonna be even remotely close to Spirit's power, they may both be Japanese ghost but apart from that, i don't see any similarities, especially since licensed killers are usually created in a way to feel like you're actually playing as their source material counterpart.
-
Personally more into playing Oni than Spirit, perhaps in the future i'll try her out some more.
Also i don't think the Ringu chapter is gonna change much for Spirit in terms of how many play as her, people who enjoy Spirit is gonna continue to play as her regardless.

that…. Sounds like something BHVR could have mentioned??
also, do you happen to know who created the new art piece/where the actual source is?
Also something else that further proves that BHVR and BP is no longer partnering, if you go to Boss Protocol's site and check the tab about their partners, BHVR does not appear on the list.
-
While it is not in my top most requested crossovers, i think Outlast has a high chance since BHVR and Red Barrel are both studios from Montreal and also something about alot of game devs from Montreal knows one another.

Boss Protocol is the only one who has been talking about the new NFT since november, here is one of their tweets about it with the artist's name included.
Also while i would like myself if BHVR made an update about it, i think it's fair to also point out that BHVR has to begin with barely posted about the NFTs, only thing they posted about were the 2 clarifications and the announcement of the pinhead NFTs, now that the NFT is no longer related to them nor the game, it's not something they need to cover on their official twitter account.

@Mooks said:

has it been somewhere confirmed that the NFTs are unrelated to DbD or BHVR? What is the actual source now?
They haven't been vocal about it, only thing we have is Boss Protocol showcasing the new NFT back in november, but considering that as mentioned in my previous post that all prior mentions of DBD and BHVR has been removed from their site and that the new NFT is not the DBD model of Pinhead but an art piece instead made by someone unrelated to BHVR, i think it's safe to say that the backlash caused Boss Protocol to change the NFT because of it.
Also the old DBD NFTs has not been posted about or been brought up again after the new NFT art piece made it's debut.

I’d need way too much text to list every issue, but yeah. Just put some of the first ones that immediately came to mind. Also the BP grind difficulty, there being no Bloodlust back then, original DBD also didn’t have fall stagger, original BT/DS/Mettle, original Legion, etc. I’m sure I still missed a lot.
Here is a few other: Sprint Burst cooldown not halting while running, Vacuum pallets, Killer getting stunned by pallets after pickup animation is finished, Original Object of Obsession, instant Mori or Mori after first hook depending on how far back we go, Double pallets being a regular thing on all maps, perma sabotaged hooks.

Ok?
It was just a fun little idea i had because the old maps had much more personality than the new ones.
That's alright, i personally disagree with that however, but we can agree to disagree.
