I'm glad forever Freddy was nerfed especially with how the reworked went. Seeing chains with every thing regressed actions.
ikr?

Definitely did even with the long snipe to dreamworld. Class photo with Nancy masterpiece was a good way to find people who aren't asleep.
I always found those matches incredibly boring actually, It was frankly no better than playing against a forever freddy if you ask me.

Running a skill check Freddy was the best build. You can keep waking up with failing checks or you can take a damage state.
iirc, it also stretched the games out by alot aswell.

Well, if you don't wanna go with Otz, then go with me.
Go with someone who was more dedicated to that killer than anyone ever was and ever will be. Just ask around if ya doubt it.
I can, without a shadow of a doubt, assure you that he was not the worst killer. Not even close.
Because you like playing as a killer who
- Can't stop Survivors from unhooking right in front of him
- A power that can be countered by simply failing a skill check or being near a generator explosion
- Being forced to wait for a transition period to end which in the meantime let's Survivors move to the safety of a pallet before it finishes
- A killer who after putting Survivors to sleep was nothing more than a standard M1 killer with nothing else to help him in chases.
- A killer who was very addon and perk dependant.
Sorry, but that doesn't sounds like a fun killer nor a very strong killer to me, and many others didn't find him fun nor strong to play as either back then and that's just a fact, that's why there were alot of people asking for him to be reworked.
Also how dedicated you are to your killer doesn't change anything to me, i didn't like the iteration of his gameplay back then and that certainly wouldn't change for me now should they revert most of it to how it was.
So i'm afraid we're gonna have to agree to disagree on old freddy.

Please, just stop.
I've doing this for two years, I've dealt with enough already.
Please leave the Freddy talk for someone who truly understands him.
People can talk about freddy all they want, just because you're dedicated to him doesn't mean that it's for you to gatekeep who's allowed to talk about him or not.

I actually know someone who played both of them 👀
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2835450#Comment_2835450
Just lazy people who didn't bother to learn more about him.
Even Otz said so.
Or maybe people just didn't enjoy playing a killer who had almost nothing going for him except maybe 2 things at most.
Also it doesn't matter what a streamer says, people will still have opinions on killers that's different from theirs.

oh man old Freddy, sry to say this but old Freddy was just upright bad 🤣 Current Freddy isnt much better though.
Not even wrong, he was generally considered the worst killer by many.
-
Yes most likely, althou i would probably not hold it with as much sentimental value as i do now.
-
As a longtime Doctor main, I would very much rather not revert doctor's rework as it is one of the best ones this game has seen, not to mention that not having to hold in m2 for a few seconds in order to switch between treatment mode and punishment mode everytime is one of the best QOL they could have given him.
-
They've already visually updated a few killers and almost every map there is with Haddonfield being the next in line, so it's only a matter of time before myers gets his turn aswell.
-
I personally loved Bone Chill and Midnight Grove, compared to alot of previous events we've had by now, they actually added something to spice up the gameplay instead of just being the standard BP increase or advent codes only.
I honestly hope they bring them back for this year.
-
Between the two, definitely cowshed.
My personal least favorite however is not just one map but the entirety of Macmillan, Autohaven and Coldwind combined.
I have lost count on how many times i've ended up in those realms and i'm so tired of playing on them, i would much rather play on indoor maps like Midwich or RCPD.

ℹ GeneralV didn't like that.
Okay, and?
-
What's a BDB?
On a serious note, the removal/updating of anything that's left from old DBD.
-
I've always enjoyed dbd, don't see that changing even to this day.
-
At this point, almost every single day since 2016 with no regret and that hasn't changed one bit for me even to this day.

Exactly. Balancing doesn't mean anything if the killer is unfun. Old Freddy was pretty weak, yet nobody really complained about it because he was actually fun.
On the contrary, people did complain about him being weak and was generally labeled as the worst killer in the game by many back then, that's why he ended up getting a rework.
-
I think a better way to make it more fair is to adjust some aspects of the perk, aswell as giving it the MoM treatment and changing the activation requirements to something else entirely.
-
I think that i would still take today dbd over old dbd in general.
-
Not big on bringing back quickscope slinger in any way, the amount of people that complained about it back then was pretty noteworthy and it's removal was frankly a betterment to the game's health.

He got a facial upgrade, yes, but not the likeness of Kyle. Because, shockingly, actors retain legal rights to their faces, and so the fact that they can't get the likeness to James isn't at all surprising.
Not entirely true, althou while it is true when it comes to Quentin and possibly also for video game characters as a whole, there are however some cases where actor's faces becomes part of a character who which the actor themselves have no legal rights over, such was the case with remake freddy i think. I believe Cote actually talked about the subject back during the pre eternal blight event livestream.
-
The changes is always first revealed once chapters goes live along with their patch notes.

No, it intervenes at a point in the media's canon prior to the death to take them (a la Nemesis, Freddy, Pig, Lisa) or in the case of Sadako they work with the licence holders until DBD is suddenly canon Ringu lore.
Technically then, the Harry we would get in DBD would have to be from another timeline of Silent hill where Cheryl never discovered Harry's dead body in his apartment in Silent Hill 3.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
What is wrong with Henry, he is cool guy too!
But i wanna Angela Orosco first, it is so suck we had not 2 survivors with Silent Hill chapter. So probably all character skins will not add to game or they will come so slowly.
Can the entity take people who have already died thou?
-
Thanks for some positivity thread, nice to see some on here.
As an old time pre-order player here, still playing to this day and still loving it as much as i did back when i first started playing.
-
Frankly i would get every variant of clothe worn and/or different version of each licensed Killer and Survivor from their respective franchise throughout all their movies or video games, aswell as getting as many different characters as legendary cosmetics as possible and a blighted version for all of the licensed Survivors and Killers. Other than that, as many original outfits for them, charms related to the characters & their franchises and a tome lore for each of them also.
Althou if i had to pick my top 5 then it would look something like this.
-
I love charms in general, i frankly wished they would give us more character figurine charms, charms related to character's power/perk speciality & character's lore.

Yes, no one want to play worse variant of killers when they have a choice, unless they are some strange man or bored enough in basegame.
I guess anyone who likes to main as any Killers outside of S Tier ones are just strange or bored then, after all they're just worse variants than those at the top. Never mind the fact that different people find different killer playstyles more engaging than others.

First point - Incapacitated Status Effect during the Transition.
Second point - Movement speed penalty for putting a Survivor into the Dream Transition reduced from 3 seconds to 1.
Third point - keep Dream Projection.
OG Freddy had very few problems, and they are honestly pretty easy to fix.
I actually rather have the option to make Survivors fall asleep with M1 aswell for convenience sake but also having dream demon power to put Survivors to sleep along with transition timer but grants a greater reward for the killer as of result.
If anything, you can give him a brown addon aswell that makes it so he can't hit Awake Survivors but grants more blood points in return.

I am glad you see what I see!
I also had that idea of mixing and matching, such as an add-on for Dream Pallets and keeping the teleport. There is PLENTY of potential for an excellent killer in here.
While i do agree Freddy does have some potential, there are some problems that must be addressed first
- Freddy being unable to deal with hook rushers or people slamming the gens due to him being unable to hit awake Survivors with M1.
- Sleep transitioning taking too long giving Survivors enough time to get to safety or finish an interaction.
- Lack of map pressure. (althou giving freddy his gen teleportation would fix that frankly)
A way to deal with these issues old Freddy suffered from is through a Sleep Tier progression system similar to Doctor's madness system but instead of how high your madness is, would instead acts on how deep asleep Survivors are and in return would make Freddy Stronger as a result, which Survivors would want to avoid. I've actually been working on a rework concept for freddy with such a system.

He wouldn't return the exact same ya know...
There were a few weaknesses to be addressed, and two QoL adjustments to be implemented.
He would return as a perfectly designed killer, as his very first version was.
That is what we ask for.
I would hardly call release freddy perfect, i played back when he was released and he was quite frankly just awful in so many regards.
But if we really are gonna get his old powers backs, i would much rather have them take what he had and improve upon it, aswell as taking aspects from rework freddy's kit and add to the old one, that way you can appease both old freddy and new freddy mains.
-
Yeah no thanks, never again.
-
Best base lore goes to Ghost Face
Best tome lore goes to Hillbilly
Althou i personally find the observer tome stories to be better than any of the killer & survivor tomes altogether.
-
I always had more fun on in-door maps than on outdoor maps in general, and RCPD is perhaps one of my favorite maps as both Killer & Survivor to play on.
-
Young Ash related skins would be nice, but if it ain't from Ash vs Evil Dead then it ain't got a chance most likely since the license itself only covers that show.
-
I don't need to take breaks from it because i play DBD alongside other games so nothing is ever too much of the same.
-
I only play as characters that are at P3 LVL 50 with all perks unlocked.
So currently, i don't play as Freddy, Pig, Ghost Face, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, Blight, Twins, Trickster, Nemesis and Artist.
-
Ghost Face without a doubt.
-
Yes please, the only skins i've wanted for him mostly are those two plus a Blighted Pinhead skin.
-
Yeah i will, looking forward to the chapter's release in march.
-
Any in-door map offerings pleases me.
-
Yes, so much of this.

I loved the tinted color palettes they were my favorite thing about the maps, rip blue macmillan.
I never liked it, althou it wasn't as bad as springwood's tint.
-
As someone who has pre ordered the game but only got into it right before huntress was released, I will grant that the moon offerings did give the matches a variant of different type of atmosphere. With that said however, i sometimes thought it could get too dark sometimes to see anything on the maps plus darkest moon offering helped hiding darken bear traps, so that could be annoying when that happened.
Also I never found the old base atmosphere of the maps to be that great, mainly I found the tint to be unappealing to look at, especially on autohaven, Springwood and macmillan. So I'm perfectly fine with a shift away from the old atmosphere and look in exchanged for what we have now.
The only thing I do miss is the old father campbell's church map, I liked the brightly colored light from clown's area and the color tone inside the church itself.

Naughty Bear as the trapper. Too much resources would be spent a sort of joke killer, so this is the only realistic way naughty bear could become playable in this game imo.
I mean, as long as they give it the Robbie Legion cosmetic treatment, then sure.

They shoehorned the black veil into artist's lore and for Trickster it's just showing how the world of kpop sucks to be in like most entertainment careers. Maybe you like that fine but for me unlike say deathslingers lore or either of the yamaoka clan members the new stuff is just fluff to add some life to the characters.
First off, those examples are from base lores, i'm talking about tome lores since those are what's included with the tomes to begin with.
Secondly, imo while not all the lore entries may be as good as some of the other lore entries, there are still plenty of good lore to be found even in the most recent tomes.
If you don't like the tomes aswell then that's fine, we'll just have to agree to disagree then.

Well I meant other than the bare basic reason.
Lately the lore that is shown is kinda awful and at least for the last two featured killers that will be played for a little bit and the thrown away to go back to the status quo.
I dunno, i think the lore has been pretty good lately.

Thank you, and one last question do you know the timezone + time it resets by any chance?
Unfortunately, i do not know when exactly, it also varies from timezone to timezone iirc.
Best thing to do is to just keep an eye out.
-
Every grade reset happens on the 13th every month, and yes you can get 2 million points if you reach iridescent 1 grade for both Survivor and Killer before the season is over.
-
Aesthetic wise for Killer: Either Pinhead or Ghostface
Gameplay wise for Killer: Either Leatherface or Nemesis
-
Base Survivor: Either Ash or Laurie
Legendary Survivor: Either Cybil or Jonathan

Baba Yaga got whole new SFX + lobby music while Legendary skins have slowly been getting unique voices. I think they're just starting to realise this is what people want and may go back to change Krampper and Minotoni like they did with Lisa/Cybil.
Actually, the huntress lobby music seems to be for base huntress rather than exlusively for the Baba Yaga set.
