What do you do to killers to get this reaction from them?

If you swf then it is fair game that they bring the strongest stuff they can.

Honestly nothing. I've only had issues when playing solo. I'm very much anti-teabagging (and all forms of bm) and will call out survivors when I see it. The only time I'd ever tolerate it would be when a killer has hard camped/tunnelled for no reason.

You'd be surprised the amount of killers who get tilted when they don't get a 4k or get looped (which is apparently toxic to some). Survivors also get toxic when they are hit/hooked, etc. Peeps get tilted a lot...

  • @Profezia said:

Considering how often survivors get triggered to killer's playstyles and how much grudges do they often hold, I'd rather not do that.

I agree. The only real reason to show player usernames is to facilitate the holding of grudges. I think neither side should know who they're playing against until the match has started (or even ended)

It's to prevent people who abuse DS to force a hook grab

but it can still be forced. you can still force locker grabs. I've never seen a forced totem grab (though technically possible I guess) and its not possible to force a heal grab

  • I mean killers can stack multiple gen regression/slow down perks. Seems only fair that survivors get one to not slow down progress when working with another survivor. Besides, multiple survivors working on one gen is kinda a good thing. I'd much rather 4 survivors on one gen than 4 survivors on 4 gens...

  • What has become of these forums when I cant tell if this is low quality bait or an actual killer main...

  • I think a change was needed but this one is way over done. if it just deactivated when you work on a gen it would have been enough to start from and assess from there. deactivate on unhooks is so dumb in my opinion.

It says a lot about the current hex perks that you have to make up a ridiculous one for your point. The odds of such a perk are about on par with the odds they'll decide to arm survivors. Sure, not 0, but c'mon.

is DS not technically survivors being armed? Most survivors have gun holsters anyway so it might not be so unprobable.

My point was that no perk should be immune to changes. Not about the current state of any future, current or past perks

What's the cooldown? Bamboozle blocks for 16 seconds. Crowd Control for 14 seconds.

    Neither has a cooldown.

Dude... Bamboozle can only block ONE window at a time. Its cooldoqn is the length of time it's active. Crowd control can theoretically block every vault on a map at once (would take some serious coordination and map rng but technically possible)

  • @poomanchu said:

Hex Totems should be changed to offerings in the blood web instead of perks. I’d trade a darker mist offering for a 40 second Hex totem.

what would the survivor equivalent be then?

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2001173#Comment_2001173

What are you talking about? Bamboozle has no cooldown. It never had.

Where is the high risk part of the perks you mentioned? The part where killers permanently deactivate the perk?

it does have a cool down (unlike crowd control). only one vault can be blocked and each vault can be blocked for 8/12/16. crowd control has no such limits.

most of the perks I listed have conditional activation criteria which if the killer doesn't play a certain way or use certain builds mean those are wasted perk slots

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2000910#Comment_2000910

Why? It's just a hex bamboozle where they switched the role of the person that needs to go through the window.

Hex perks are supposed to be high risk, high reward perks. Where are survivor perks that are high risk, high reward?

the difference is bamboozle has a cool down. crowd control does not. Old undying would make it so loops wouldn't work and survivors outside of SWF would have been destroyed.

it's the same as old balanced landing. that needed to be changed for the betterment of the game. rather than changing one map and having to factor its interactions with every possible future map, it was easier to change one perk.

Bonus question: Survivor high risk high reward perk: DH, Deliverance, Soul guard, Secondwind, DS, etc

  • @REL1_C said:

SleepyWillo - Think of a perk like crowd control. Each time a survivor preforms a fast vault, a window is blocked for 14 seconds. It sounds really OP but it isn't because...You guessed it, a hex. I know what I just said is a bit misleading, the perk itself is quite powerful. An easy counter is simply look for hex's. Also, a perk like that even solo's will know.

1 - You vault and the window is blocked, oh the killer much be running hex: crowd control

2 - When you vault, you have time to go to another loop

    3 - In a swf, it's really weak.

I know I'm taking this quite seriously, I understand that. I just don't want another hex perk like devour hope to be nerfed cause the developers don't understand that a survivor can look and simply cleanse 2 hex totems, probably paired with hex: undying.

Undying was a very unique situation. As you said, the best way to eliminate a hex perk is to cleanse totems. Undying made this extremely difficult due to it having both auras and the ability to respawn cleansed hex totems.

I knew when the perk was on the ptb itd be a MoM situation. One side would love it and one side would hate it, but the devs would keep it as long as possible to enjoy the profits from sales before changing it.

Your a funny person, you know full well a hex like that will never be added. Don't compare my logic to a stereotype. A developer isn't dumb enough to add a perk like that lol.

Though the chances of a perk like that being added are low, they are never zero.

The point stands: No perk should be immune to changes for the betterment of the game. You can debate if the changes are overtuned or insufficient but nothing should be immune.

I don't know what you said...Also, I said hex's. If a perk is too OP then it better get nerfed but hex perks are powerful perks, as a hex. Like I said many times, hex perk don't need nerfs because all you have to do is cleanse 2 totems, does not a single survivor main understand hex perks aren't OP.

if a hex perk worked as follows: "once an injured survivor is downed, 3 other survivors on the map are instantly put into the dying state". does that require a change? according to you, no. bEcAuSe iTs A hEx PeRk

I don't really know what you mean but a NOED rework is a Genius Idea. I'm not just a killer main lol, I play both sides.

the lady doth protest too much, methinks

If a perk is a hex or not is irrelevant. if a perk needs to be changed it NEEDS to be changed.

  • If they gave it the secondary effect constantly without it being tied to the exhausted effect it might have some use. As it stands it by far the worst exhaustion perk (unless the new exhaustion perk remains unchanged and requires a stun to activate)

  • I feel an actual on screen totem indicator would be too good for survivors and be a huge nerf to perks like NOED.

I think a good fix would be a map wide unique sound made for cleansing dull totems (similar to the hex sound). This way it would allow solo players to keep track without feeding too much information too easily.

  • There are perks for gen tapping.

There are also perks for better bang for your kicks.

You are asking for things that are already in the game...

Well,If that is the case It makes all the spamming more dumb since It is written in stone..However, the Chinese version should be worth a good laugh to read.

Itll likely boil down to a space.

"Boy friend" vs "boyfriend". Either that or I think they'll be seeing "close friends"

The rift is far too grindy as it is. I suppose that's intentional so that they gain more money by causing players to buy out the remaining tiers. I'd prefer if they removed the auric cells gained while making the rift actually enjoyable. Other games have season passes you can finish in a week by grinding. In Dead by Daylight you'll end up grinding for months.

Yeah 100% this. Remove the auric cells you get from it and make it so purchasing the rift gives a 500% increase in fragments or something.

The way it is now is so broken.

IIRC they are making changes with the next Rift. 500xp instead of 800xp for a fragment and an extra page of challenges... But even that doesnt seem like enough

So, since you seem to be one of the few reasonable ones I am seeing here I am gonna explain why we might not get a LGBT character and It simply comes down to this.

The game is in China including the mobile one If I recall. And the Chinese are "strong" about there distaste for well, LGBT and anything connected. I am confused how a game with ghost and other things can be in China so I assume a lot censorship is involved.

So,I can assume that is really one of the main reasons.

I would also debate If this game came out like in 2010 or 1999 before everyone had went into a full blown madhouse of RedVsBlue having a gay character would be seen as "fine" or even "cool" or actually progressive..But, now do to the fact that is anyone talks about now in days It would be more shocked to see a devout catholic in DBD then someone from LGBT. But,hell for all I know Ace could be bi and a Catholic. I would never know.

Truth be told outside of nationallity we only know a handful of info about the surviors and I would argue a lot of the newer surviors are all just "Successful people who are awesome". We need more outcast, failures and loons and less winners.

They will release an LGBT character (like they've said they plan on doing) but they will do so around Pride to get the most "signal boost" bang for their buck. They will do it when its the most profitable, and not when its "right".

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I keep seeing these posts about the pushback against LGBT characters, but I've never seen that pushback myself. Are you sure these people you're talking about even exist?

Most of the horrific pushback gets removed. There is indeed a lot of pushback... Even at just the idea.

  • The (Greatest) Showman would have fit better

  • I've never had any issues with hooks on any maps (except maybe The Game when hooks are upstairs or behind awkward walls) and have usually been able to hook survivors right beside each other. If anything I think theres possibly too many hooks/they're often too close (again not always but most times).

  • I think both the breakable walls and pallets are an issue. I agree that theres too many pallets (god ones) for survivors. But, theres also too many dead ends that trap survivors also.

  • Love when post titles dont give any hints as to the content of the actual post...

  • Or just give those buffs to the solo to encourage and balance more solo play.

Plus limiting survivor perks defo doesnt seem necessary. I rarely get hit with DS or BT when playing killer and with the DS change its becoming a pure anti-tunnel perk. Defo no need to limit them.

I'll be honest, 90% of the posts I've seen aren't people commenting in some homophobic way or all "there shouldn't be a gay character" -- they're almost ALL seeming to come from people who identify as LGBT and are pre-complaining about the character not being done right or meeting some imaginary standard or something. Occasionally they're stirring up some sort of posts that are anti-gay only in the sense that they're defining a LGBT character as being a political statement and not a type of person, but by majority? Not really reading as much from them as from the demographic this possible character is supposed to represent.

The really vile ones tend to get removed quickly and I'm thankful for that.

The ones that annoy me are the ones saying "it shouldn't be added coz they'll be shoving it in our faces by adding it". by changing a pronoun.

Or the classic "sexuality has no place here ". And yet there was no backlash by the same people when hetero relationships were added but thats none of my business...

  • I'm thinking its a K-Pop siren killer (scales on outfit and music teases and references to scream). I dont think this is the survivor. They never really tease the survivor so it would be very unusual for them to suddenly change gears

  • P3 50 everyone with all perks to unlock the secret achievement ^_-

  • Your opinion isnt automatically correct. You are entitled to have an opinion - but that doesn't make it correct.

  • Why not both? Something really ostentatious and showy for one character and on the other something really subdued and subtle?

I don't see any kind of relationships in the game, though there are families in the lore side.

Quite simply to have a "real" family, you need at least 2 people of opposite gender who are willing and able to have a child.

If all characters were white, it would be slightly odd but I for sure wouldn't give a damn. If you seriously care about the skin color of people you're just racist.

I've already replied to this but I have to reply again because this is making me viscerally angry.

If a man and a woman are together and one is sterile (for whatever medical reason) they are not a family? Even if they adopt or have surrogates?

What if a man and woman had been married and had kids but the woman needed a hysterectomy? Do they suddenly become un-familied?

If a same sex couple adopt or have a child via surrogate - do they not qualify as a family in your mind?

There are many different types of families in this world. Your definition of what a family is is narrow minded and just blatantly false.

To be fabulous you don't need to be homosexual, simple as that.

Defining any character's sexuality in this game is not only pointless but also feeds the toxic part of the community, which seems to already bother a whole lot of people

The issue is that they've defined opposite sex relationships. If no sexual relationships had been defined I feel more people would be willing to accept the possibility that any/everyone was LGBT+.

Where was your disapproval when they defined the opposite sex relationships?

By defining multiple opposite sex relationships they've actively excluded LGBT+ relationships.

If every character (20+) were white or white passing - would you see an issue?

Some people will feel a huge swell of acceptance to see someone who is confirmed non-heterosexual added to the game.

Some people will feel hugely disenfranchised to see that others can be accepted and that they are not superior to others based on sex/religion/orientation/race, etc.

I'm not expecting fear but I am expecting a game where survivors try to a void the killer vs going hunting them with flash lights and fire works. Its not a good sign when the thing they should be running form they actively seek.

I maybe wouldn;t mind so much since this feels like it should have been a FTP game with stuf fyou buy in game but I had to buy in and regretted it not long after but no refund. So you make lemonade out of lemons.

The problem is the devs have said and actively augmented the gameplay to encourage chases and nerf stealth play.

They have added aura reading to make engaging in chases easier and faster as that's where they feel the game thrives.

Personally I loved the tense feeling of hiding near the killer and hoping they didn't find me but unfortunately the game has changed since then

I don't understand why people care about sexuality in a video game. Why? Why do you care? I don't care if a character is any color, race, sex, whatever, so I don't get why people always ask for it. I'm Asian and I don't play only Asian characters because it technically "represents" me. If no character has a sexuality, then you can roleplay every one of them as being anything.

Up to this point they've been actively excluding non het relationships. I'm not going to play only one character because it looks like me or has a similar personality.

I do get annoyed when I see something actively discriminate against a marginalised group, one which I'm part of, and perpetrate by such exclusion that there's something flawed or unnatural about it.

  • I feel it'd be more likely a Siren or Banshee given the music references - "Mighty One *Entertainment*", "Stay *tuned*", etc. I could see a Siren or Banshee with a double life as a musician/singer.

    Which boxes are "mystery boxes"?

The ones in the blood web that you don't know what they are until you buy them.

As it stands I think they're pointless because you spend the same points for the same rarity - even though you have no control over what the offering/addon/item is.

  • They really need to buff other perks to make them worth bringing. So much trash in this game is the reason you only see the same perks over and over again...

  • I'm blaming the increase in toxicity on the current state of the game.

Survivors getting hit out of nowhere make it seem hopeless to survive so they seem to try and make their own fun by sabotaging their teammates.

Killers know about the desync issue and a lot are taking advantage of it for easy games and playing extra campy/tunnely knowing theres not much that can be done about it.

Hopefully things will calm a bit once the major bugs are fixed but the longer it continues the harder it will be to break players from bad behaviours...

IMO the Range hurts the Perk more than the Cooldown.

I get what youre saying but I can see an unlimited range being a bit too OP. You'd be able to where a survivor and killer are and could use it to track their movements across the whole map.

I also would think it would look overly cluttered on your screen and would make it more difficult to differentiate in a sea of yellow.

    Just my opinion tho! <3
