Just saw the Halloween kills movie and I loved it. Made me realize Michael in dbd is nothing like the movie-one. So here I thought how cool it would be if the devs made a Halloween chapter rework.

Make Michael more ruthless, update the map, change a bit of his addons and perks and maybe add a modern Michael cosmetic.

What do you guys think about it?

    @GeneralV said:

    I will pass.

Reworks are nothing but downgrades that ruin everything they touch.

And the Halloween chapter, largely responsible for DBD's popularity, must not be ruined.

Come on dude, you can't tell me you wouldn't want a "Halloween Kills' outfit for Michael, his mask half burnt and stuff...I don't see why they couldn't since they already gave him his hospital gown.

Also i want his stalk music back

I will admit that they are strong but I just don’t think they’re OP. I actually really like the gameplay around boons as it requires setup preparation and the survivor has to go out of their way to activate the perk. It’s also a new gameplay element which spices it up. Killers can also hear boons and it takes them just a second to break it. You will probably say that the survivor can put it back easily but they still have to spend time doing it.

I’ve felt like at least COH has a chance to be meta because of its nature in helping the whole team out which I’m honestly very glad to see because we need more variety in the meta. Maybe COH can be toned down a little where it decreases self healing speed but I think it’s honestly fine.

this is a satire survivor main post for sure

Ok, but what is your suggested change. You can sit there and explain why you don't like the perk all day, but unless you suggest an actual fix, we aren't getting anywhere.

Are you saying the I frames should simply be dropped? Like they still get the distance and everything but if used poorly they can still be hit while dashing? Otherwise I'm not understanding what you're trying to say

When you use Dead hard, you dash and are immune to dmg...i said take the immunity part out, It's a short activate but not having that immune part would give you that option for safe distance, unlike sprint burst that doesn't give you the option only when you run. This takes away that big forgiving power that it gives on so many survivor mistakes, it also contributes to why survivors feel safety in dead zones and commit to gens so hard. They can just stand there or zoom and be fine and get away even if you threw a hatchet right at them

  • @Fuzzels said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2606687#Comment_2606687

Ok, care to explain what kind of change? Give me your thoughts on what it should be changed to

It just flat out shouldn't be able to make you immune from dmg and be able to run back into the killer into a pallet, restart chases and make them 2-3 times longer for one hook. Killers time is too valuable for all these things PLUs boons now to be going on for a 1 v 4

  • @Fuzzels said:

First of all, I'm a killer main. I do play survivor, but mainly killer, and fair spread of them.

I see all the time people complaining about dead hard, and the most common complaint I see is that "it gives an extra health state"

But like.. so does every exhaustion perk?? Just in different scenarios. Sure dead hard is probably the most common, and most available and easiest to get off. But every exhaustion perk is potentially an extra health state the same way DH is.

Personally I use SB with fixated, I can walk away as a killer is coming and with good timing force a whiff while activating SB to make it to whatever structure or loop is around. That's pretty much the same as using DH to do the same thing, the only difference is that I'm not injured first.

Lithe gives you a free sprint after jumping a window, if you time this correctly you can can (maybe not nearly as often but still potentially) force a whiff and a free escape to the next loop/structure.

Balanced is the same in the sense that as a killer seeing someone take a long drop usually makes me think "ok, free hit for me" but if they have BL, it's not. It's a free sprint for them to reach the next loop/structure and the same as lithe, potentially a whiff f the killer prematurely swings while falling.

Smash hit requires a pallet slam sure, but in the sense of it being a free sprint to the next loop, it's the same. Just without causing a whiff, and instead a stun from the pallet and potentially (depending on the safety level of the pallet) forces a pallet break, although this would likely need to be done anyway, making SH probably the weakest of exhaustion perks, but still.

So can anyone explain what exactly makes DH so much worse than the rest of these? They essentially give the same reward and cause the same time loss for killers.

Again, I am a killer main through and through. And I genuinely do not mind DH any more than any other exhaustion perk, and I don't understand the hate.

Also if it matters to anyone, I have 2k+ hours in the game and have played since there was only 3 killers so it's not a matter of being newer or not understanding how things work.

Dead hard is a perk that needs to have a change like DS had. Period

  • @LuckyLucy1999 said:

I'm wondering if they do in fact play their own game, as they can't honestly think that the current state of the game is in any way healthy.

The balancing in this game is all over the place and gets worse with each new killer/survivor or update. Boons for example. Why did survivors need these in the first place? How is it ok that they can bless a hex and that is is gone but if the killer snuffs out a boon they can just bless it again. Perks and killers constantly being buffed/nerfed, ruining perfectly fine killers in the process. Clearly some perks are too strong (NOED) but they never get nerfed, yet the wraith gets a nerf for seemingly no reason.

Who is their "balancing" aimed at? The core players who play the game all the time or the Twitch TV crowd.

How about the rampant tunneling and camping from killers which IMHO opinion has increased massivly since the new matchmaking was introduced. The devs can't honestly think that being tunneled out of the game within the first few minutes is a fun experience for survivors. I mean tunneling has always been a thing but the last few months it has increased massively. If I was to start this game today as a new player and was being tunneled out of the game every game, how long do you think I would stick with this game?

I know there is no realistic way to combat camping but surely the devs can come up with some solution to discourage tunneling survivors out of the game.

This is of course only my opinion (with maybe a little salt) but I've played this game for 3 years and used to love it, but the way killers play now makes being a survivor unfun and the way survivors play makes being a killer unfun.

No and you can't @ a dev or call any of the clear flaws of the game out because you'll either get banned or ignored take your pick. Dev's have given me the impression they're mostly delusional, money hungry, jerks who only play survivor

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2606360#Comment_2606360

not a bug, that's by design to avoid Survivors tapping the gen to avoid the skill checks. It guarantees that the skill check will always appear.

It should be default, 3 different people can click undo it normally while you're doing a chase which is the default thing to do as killer. You already have to spend time kicking it. Ontop of a survivor just hiding behind you and guess what...click. It's clearly flawed in that regard as well.

If u not hear US u will lost more players. For what was validation hit dead hard validation hit through pallet if it can be seen that killer hit survivor? Why u make game for killers unplayable?Maybe u make a stream when u play killers vs 4 Mikaela??? :D Why u buff hard dead?

Listen if u cant do anything with ur servers.LET RETURN WHEN KILLER WAS HOST!!!!!I ITS NOT FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!! ITS SAD ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has been a lot of talk of how to stop toxic killers camping, and a lot of people moaning about toxic survivors at the gate, but no solutions put forward, so hear goes.

Take away the crouching in and around the gate area, and stop them being able to crawl out. They do it because they know that any killer need two hits and then be able to pick them up. They teabag at the gate because the risk is minimal, the same as when they teabag the other side of a pallet, knowing that the killer has to break the pallet to get them. Take this safety away and see them risk losing the escape just to teabag.

    @Nathan13 said:

you also don't have to go near the gate.

At this point how many safe zones do survivors need to actually feel a challenge anymore?

  • @Wedeguy said:

I agree. then killers with NOED will shoot themselves in the leg.

I mean what can you do when you can't track people rushing objectives, and that heal at a moments notice cuz of 3-4 different boon locations

  • @SadLegion said:

I don't see any other possibility to have a winning chance in this game anymore.

3 gen strat gets broken by Prove Thyself / Built to Last Toolbox in less than 50 seconds.

Hooking more than 2 different survivors will get me nothing when the gens pop up in 5 minutes. Split damage, hit n run is dumpstered by Circle of Healing. Mass slugging never works because someone always has Unbreakable, and survivors can reset under CoH in 10 seconds. Dead Hard robbing me of precious seconds, DS/BT respect.

I started running Noed on every m1 killer, Pop/Corrupt always mandatory. Cant run BBQ simply because i have no time to traverse a map to find a survivor i havent hooked yet. It feels like killers have less and less options to be viable in this game.

Im really glad that they nerfed keys, but god damn i feel like playing killer is getting worse over time. Seriously, CoH was a mistake. BHVR should tone it down a bit, but also do something with base gen regression. Things like 5% regression apply when the generator is kicked, and base regression is increased by 50%. Small careful changes that will make killers life a little easier. Mangled with its 20% slowdown is outdated, when all new survivor healing perks have 100% increasement.

Im afraid that if BHVR keeps this trend of giving overbuffed perks for survivors, the only killers left in this game will be 3 blink Nurses with Noed and 3 slowdowns.

Devs in this game really make me question their knowledge of the actual gameplay every patch.

The maps that I really hate are RPD and DDS.

I've gotten used to DDS and RPD luckily i played the remake of RE:2 a lot so i know the map already. I know that's not the case for others but, i mean it doesn't have much variation. You could probably just memorize it until we get the other variations i think i heard were coming

  • @GeneralV said:

  • @nanasi_K9 said:

    Hello from the JP Forum.

I have played against it many times and feel that this is a perk that should be removed.

It is the worst system/perk that destroys the game more than <Mettle Of Man>.

1.It completely destroys the rules of the game.

I recognize that looking for and chasing scratches is the basis of the killer.

All the previous disguise perks were just temporary deceptions by achieving slightly difficult conditions.

But Shadowstep fools an unlimited and very wide range of people for too easy conditions.

    2.A lot of bonus exist.

First, you can disable HEX Totem when activating Boon Totem.

Secondly, each totem has two effects, and in the future it will have four.

The range of effects is so wide that there is no way to disable them.

3.There are no risks or disadvantages whatsoever.

Some people say that the time spent looking for and crafting a totem is a risk or disadvantage, but that's not true.

    4.Too OP on some maps.

As well as the totems in the non-disable huts that exist on every map.

    <Haddonfield> <Léry's Memorial Institute> <Gideon Meat Plant> <Ormond> <Silent Hill

These maps have a lot of terrain and generation issues that make them unplayable.

    What do you guys think?

overall we knew they were a joke from get go, but they seem to be i guess alright right now, i still think the totem should get destroyed if you snuff it out

Every place I go to that has people talking about or playing dbd there is this console or pc hate. both console and pc players always say their side is more superior or that the other side is bad. when I ask people why they always talk about some personal experience where the crossplay player was bad or made a really bad play that cost them the game ,but I have seen the same thing on non crossplay players so why would their experience be anymore valid than mine. I understand why people come to this opinion but I don't understand why people push it on others and make fun of or attack the other side.

The nerf was fine and she deserved every bit of it, so I would say that she's not as cheap to use as before. However, her addons pretty much negate the nerf anyway. Directional audio doesn't do anything if she can just catch up to you in just a few seconds. An addon combo I commonly encounter from Spirit players are dried cherry blossoms - which gives killer's instinct within 4m of a survivor, and mother daughter ring, with 40% speed increase in phasing. That's nearly as fast as hillbilly/blight.

Another addon combo is the aforementioned ring and purple amulet which makes phasing longer with 15% reduced movement speed - but still extremely fast with the total of 25% speed increase.

The worst part about this addon combo is that in a chase, spirit can just phase for 1 or 2 seconds and they'll be able to get very close to the survivor (4 meters is a pretty big deal) and instantly trigger killer's instinct. It would be stupid for the survivor to walk, crouch, or even retrace their steps to mindgame scratchmarks (scratch marks are not visible with ring but survivors obviously dont know the addons ran) - basically the phasing power will always be ready after you hit the survivor, essentially ending the chase in less than 15 seconds.

What do you think? Here's a video to show you what I mean.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwETFQiAeHw

omg no, shes fine. You want her to just stand there next? She's definitely weaker but still a threat.

As soon as a survivor uses dead hard you know they have it. All you have to do is bait them to use it after that. To be honest you could even bait it before you know about it, to check for it.

It's not that hard to outplay it and if it is influencing a killer's games that much then maybe the killer is not very good.

    two words. Jungle.Gyms.

    next

  • @AgustinPichi2 said:

Why? I think It's just a powerful perk like dead hard or adrenaline or BT or DS or BBQ or Pop goes the whissle

Its not, add in No Way Out. Survivors can have perks to open the door faster and body block even, they are just mad because bad

  • @Desh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/290625/most-survivors-can-t-play-without-dead-hard

Many Killers are just not that great when they are without gen regression perks. Using these perks prolongs the game.

Many Survivors are just not that great without Items to enhance their plays. Using these items shortens the game.

Many Killers are just not that great when they are without tracking perks. Using these perks aids finding Survivors easier with little to no effort.

See how pointless it starts sounding?

There's a lot of survivor features that are whack by default, DH being one , nice try though, this is coming from a killer who doesn't rely on regression perks as you say

  • @LeonxJiwoon said:

This is then me saying that players who use killers who have instant down like bubba are not good killers players.

that doesn't really compare but ok

  • @VicThor said:

This is my personal opinion, but I think without Deadhard many survivors are just not that great.

If you mind game them they just have to press a button and they get away from being downed.

This is not just hurts the killer at that moment, but also limit the number of pallett drops, which means the survivors have more resources during the trial.

Based on my observation at least there 3-4 deadhards per game.

Many people says that you can trick them to use DH, which is true when you are on the open, but at a jungle gym it won’t help.

i created a folder for all the teams who crutch it, look at this crap it doesnt matter what rank they are.

i even brought a cake and still have to deal with it

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/290278/mikaela-should-only-be-able-to-bless-a-totem-once

Well if you want to even the scales then..

Boon perks would have to be hidden from the killer, no noise, no range bubble.. same as hex totems, you have to scan the map to find them.

otherwise boon totems would really need a much greater range and boost to compensate, HEX's are literally brutal to the entire team, boons rely on being in the right place at the right time, yes if there are multiple it can be horrible but so can the right hex's if they aren't found by the survivors

"really brutal" all it takes is someone distracting and its gone.

I just watched clips of Dead Hard's Validation Hit and it's a shame on BHVR's part that it's laughing at mains killers.

First BHVR destroyed Deathslinger and now this, yes, I can say that the Validation Hit has the priority depending on the dedicated servers, how is it possible that when BHVR makes changes, they prioritize the survivors more than the killers.

Really my anger was reflected for the first time in the Validation Hit of the pallets and now with Dead Hard it is a total Crap, I just saw a Spanish streamer called ReudigRuediger where he played with Trapper and saw that when he hit the survivor, he shot Dead Hard and I did not leave him dying, in fact the killer slowed down, which gives me an absolute rage that every day this game is sinking into ######### and they have to get licenses to continue existing.

I just hope that Propnight, VHS, Charlie The Legend and some future Leatherface or Michael Myers game by Gun Media will destroy this game alive so you know how a balanced game should be handled well. Not making it worse.

I don't like it either, the only thing they buffed that i asked for was some of the hex perks

Idk what caused bhvr to change that but I wont be convinced that It was a good decision.

I agree most of his changes were ######### overkill, they need to run it back a bit here and remember that someone playing a killer wants to have fun too

I would love to see other gang members hidden across the map in the lockers - like objects, so you could hop in locker as one member and jump out of other locker in different location as other member. To compensate for teleporting power bringing in more map control, they would have to weaken a bit his feral frenzy, but i think it would be fair trade off

Something like this, there's a lot of ideas that could revolve around this

As for Circle of Healing, why should this totem be permanent snuffed out, when number wise, it's pretty much in line with other healing perks. It would make this perk from being in line with other healing perks to being much much worse than other healing perks.

This is where this discussion goes both ways imo because i understand your point, but you can already just bring a medkit you don't have to rely on this certain perk by default.

There is more skill involved in timing it correctly and not messing yourself up by dodging a hit but hitting a wall, compared to pressing E to get to a pallet.

Is it much? No, but it's something, and it's something a smart Killer can bait out too.

There's certain situations where that "Baiting out" tactic just isn't possible and there's not much counterplay for the killer, that's the big power DH holds that needs changing.
