I don't think survivor perks being overpowered is the issue. I think it's just poorly designed killer powers that lack utility in a chase.
list survivor perks weaker than killer perks

Besides the obvious answer (technical reasons), what would make u stop playing the game completely until it is changed?
Im a mid 2020 player so the most annoying things so far are the constant tech issues, but in terms of perks/killers i haven't experienced anything too broken (like old legion). Right now the only thing that bothers me is RPD and i would 9/10 dc if i get that map as half the killer roster
I'm thinking of taking a break because killer was fun at the beginning, now it's just a sweatfest, the devs in this game are so ignorant to what goes on when you're a high ranking killer. There's too many overpowered survivor perks compared to killer perks, Some killer perk benefits are so horrible it's laugh worthy, they make you work for the tiniest reward when you look at it. Maybe if they actually balance out the way killer plays and adjust the maps so every chase isnt a loopathon, it's just not fun gameplay for what it's supposed to be.

You're absolutely right. It was awful
I really think it was only if you're injured, and even if it was cry me a river at the one danger zone you gotta pass if it was in the game lol

No, don't disable it because one person is having issues. Fix it whilst keeping the D/C penalty enabled. Go report your issue in the bug subsection instead of making insane suggestions.
The D/Cing was rampant when it was disabled. Survivor's D/Cing over the dumbest things like the Killer, the Map or even the fact that they got downed first and that affects the three other Survivor's that are stuck in the trial with a much bigger disadvantage because of one immature little...ehm, problematic person.
I mean most of them just disconnect and wait out the 5 minutes watching the rest of the match. It's kind of pointless, unless they keep doing it.

Because killers would have literally all of the power in a 1v1 situation. There would be no reason for a survivor to try, there would be no hope. And this would easily make solo Q even more tedious.
No because you could only be grabbed if you were injured. That's not "all the power"

I want keys to be changed not hatch to dissapear.

My point still stands about hatch (not keys) I'm not arguing that keys are fine. They clearly aren't, but we also know that something is in the works for them, so adding a grab on top of closing hatch would be a bad mechanic to add before we even know what's going to happen with keys. Now in the future if keys do an animation to open hatch then sure a grab mechanic would work.
why would it be a bad addition if you use space to close the hatch, and then you click just like ripping someone off a gen, out of the hatch mid jump. It should have stayed
-
@VaJaybles said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403622#Comment_2403622
Because hatch standoffs were not fun for anyone. So they gave the killer the ability to close it but have yet to do anything about keys. Which again is why I said keys are a different story. I made this comment before you edited yours which seemed targeted at hatch, not keys. That's why I said grabs, closing and bad door rng would not be a good mechanic for hatch
No it was always targeted at keys, i had to highlight it since nobody seemed to understand what i was saying. Hatch stand offs indeed are not fun but now it's in a place where if they were the stand off the survivors gonna win if they have a key

Yeahhhhh.... That's why I said keys are a different story. My whole comment has to do with killers not being able to grab and why that mechanic wouldnt work with door ring and killers being able to close
@VaJaybles said:

Yes. That's my point
Hatch can stay and all that's fine but the No opening sequence along with no interrupt needs to change. You can literally pull people off of everything other than hatch, even tho it was a function before.

If keys are so viciously oppressive as your posts would like people the believe, then none of these should have been remotely close to 4ks. Keys, map offerings, meta perks, swfs, not to mention playing a few of the least powerful killers in the game and in 2 cases basically without perks.
You could have easily got bad players bro, talking about most times. It's obvious yeah you can beat keys but the insta escape is just un balanced.
-
@VaJaybles said:
Until doors are opposite of each other I say keep hatch. Killer has the opportunity to close hatch that's why grabs were removed. If you have two doors on the same wall, as well as the opportunity to close and grab then there is no hope. You killed 3/4 survivors take the W. Keys are obviously a different story
Even if you close it...guess what? Key insta click can re open it, so that whole idea doesn't work.

Imma be real. I normally am more on the survivor side of keys but they do need changes especially since today I got to experience first hand the denial of even a 2k because of keys. Got 1 kill and survivors unhooked instantly then ran to hatch which was near and I couldn't even catch up fast enough I had to watch them all just jump in and I lost.
Yeah because you cannot do anything, there's no counterplay and there needs to be

Keys with zero charges can no longer open the hatch. It's in the mid chapter patch notes.
So then all you have to do is not use up all the charges and it's still a click and win scenario

So, if even one survivor escapes its a loss to you?
To me, 0 and 1 kill is a loss, 2 k are a draw (which is the balance idea of the devs) and 3+k are a win. And usually i dont slug for hatch, i just kill the 3rd and race the last one.
Its interesting that the idea for a balanced match by the devs is a 2k 2 escape match. That means you, by your own metric, can only win consistantly if you are being carried heavily by the bad matchmaking that matches you against way weaker survivors. Interesting how dependend killers become to the flaws of the game.
i really don't understand why you keep trying to justifying how the killer isn't supposed to kill all the survivors for some reason?

With the way they buffed Franklins, I am going to assume that is your nerf to keys.

I don't know if anyone ever told you this but you not going to get a 4K every game dude. Plus if you haven't downed anyone by the time the 4th generator gets done then you deserve to lose
I mean all of them dead sounds pretty victory worthy to me

@BigKuhfahl said:
Why are Killers in this game becoming worse at playing? It's like all they do now is Camp, Tunnel, or just Slug Survivors. Like some games, I get in the start and finish before a Generator is even touched, and if one is even being worked on. Now I play both sides Killer and Survivor but, I do play Survivor a bit more and with friends, so an SWF team but, when I do play as Killer I don't do any of that because I know what that feels like as a Survivor but if by chance I do it is because of two things one being that they have been chosen towards the end of the game and I want them to be the one to leave the game by the Exit Gate or two they block my attack to save someone else. I just need to know how come Killers are now being absolute trash at this game than what they use to back when I started playing this game back when they released Stranger Things DLC.
So they chase you, which is their role..Camping isn't technically breaking rules, it will give you less points tho. Slugging is an actual tactic

You can literally sit in the corner of the map, do nothing and escape with a key. You escaped and won. Maybe you were even able to get 1 or 2 mates out as well. The only thing a killer can do against it is bring Franklin and hope the key isn't predropped somewhere safe.
literally...
@sulaiman said:
Ok, how do the key make you win? If all 4 get out, they need to do 5 gens for the hatch to spawn, how is it a one-click-win?
And if only one gets out, and you have a 3k, how is it a win for survivor at all?
I actually dont understand what you are talking about. A key doesnt win you games for one click.
Also maybe to i guess your standards but a win to me is 4k

Here's hoping the Grand Key Rework TM is going to improve things.

@Axx said:
Make it so that if you have BT, you also get the effect if you get unhooked. This would be a great change imo to combat being farmed as a solo survivor. Also you should get a WGLF stack for completing 40% of a generator. WGLF is currently not as rewarding as its killer counterpart BBQ. This would help bring it up to almost BBQ level in in regard to the ease of getting stacks.
Um...I'm pretty sure you get rewarded for WGLF...It safe saves to avoid sandbag farming and giving free stacks. Also BT did that when it was released and was too powerful. It's balanced now

The devs literally stated in the update that the goal was for "the updated versions of each Survivor are as similar as possible to ones you know and love". With that being the stated goal, I think criticism is justified given how much Kate's face and expression are changed.

Eyes are narrowed, nostrils flared, eyebrows angled. All this changes her expression from slightly smiling, calm "hopeful songbird", to various degrees of annoyed/angry.
I'm not asking for the devs to revert the changes. I just want them to do what they said was their stated goal.
All that looks different is they changed her makeup to have less opacity for some reason, especially on Eyeliner which i liked on Kate, how can you also not like the new hair? it moves way more now and better, like all the long hairs should

How were mories like hatch?
Mories used to be able to be used at the beginning of the match, within a minute if you downed the first survivor quick enough, hatch is a near-end game mechanic.
KEYS not just the hatch itself people.
and Entering a hatch ends the game for the survivor in victory, mori ended the game for survivor in loss. So yes they are very similar

@DelsKibara said:
Are you talking about keys or the hatch in general?
Because if it's keys, I agree. You shouldn't be able to just escape the Killer for free if you bring a key, even if they are nerfed right now, realistically you're not going to be running Franklin's every game on every killer.
If it's the hatch in general... Yeah no, bud.
No the first part of what you said. Keys and the opening of hatch is heavily unbalanced, you click and win. Espeically with a key a multiple people leaving

The hatch is there to give the final survivor hope. The devs don't want a situation where the final survivor just has to give up. That's not engaging gameplay.
Mass people bringing keys and rushing hatch is also not "engaging gameplay" you're talking from one side

It's not giving up, and in any case we should be allowed to grab you if you don't jump in time, they took that out too. You can't sit here and justify all these ways to get out of every situation for survs, sometimes you lose. Killer is a whole different ball game

Doesn't matter what killer you play, except for nurse, you'll have to deal with looping. If you don't like it then run bamboozle on every killer and force pallets. Can't cry about a basic gameplay mechanic.
I'm only "crying" about how i just think the default blocking for windows is kinda long
-
@TroyXX said:

I miss playing AS old Trickster. Atleast before despite the fact that he was weak he was kinda fun to play as, atleast in my opinion. I liked being able to throw knives super quickly and being able to shred through survivors, but now? He feels so much more....unfun. His knife throw rate combined with his 44 knives nerf make playing him feel like a chore now that you constantly have to reload after every chase not to mention you throw knives slower. Anyone else feel the same way?
NEW TRICKSTER NERFBUFF??!!? is what they should have called it. With the amount of walls you can run around i liked that he had 60 originally.

They said that moris and keys will be incorporated into "normal" gameplay (whatever this means)
MOST (but not all) windows can be mindgamed. Alternatively you could just pick a killer that can throw something at survivors and you will see that windows become your best friends (huntress, deathslinger, pyramid head, nemesis, etc.)
I am curious to see if that;s true what;s to come forward

I can kind of relate to this, with the exception that playing either side has become unbearable recently...
As killer, it's toxic survivors smurfing with their friends with rank 15 alt accounts while the rest are red ranks. As solo survivor it's just as bad, many killers are playing the camping and tunneling game, lately with trickster who seems to be the best hook camper now. There are several DCs happening during most of my survivor matches.
Not to mention that RCPD map is horrendous to play on, esp as Blight, Oni and Nurse.
I just want to have fun again :(
who the ######### alt accounts this game? is that a thing? I did see Nurse and Blight are kinda hard RPD in some spots

Surv Q ~30 seconds, Killer Q ~10 minutes, yeah, it's a long time for Survivors to queue up. I'm not even trying to play as Killer for last month, only for daily because this waiting simulator killing me more than I killing anybody.
And considering looping as "toxic" is on another level. What you want? 1 hit, 1 hook, no windows, pallets, no objects at all and 4k every game to feel satisfied?
I'm not considering looping toxic, and as pointed out there are certain spots in maps you can take advantage of, whether it's balanced or not per say

@oxygen said:

Not exactly, I simply agree that there's some structures and map rng setups that are stupid. House of Pain on Haddonfield/Badham and crazy strings of tiles like long wall jungle gym with the window facing shack window with a long pallet and cow tree on the other side. Completely insane setup randomly placed on the map.
But my whole point is that none of that is the survivor's fault, and blaming them for using something the game gave them isn't the way to go at all. And that's how it seems when your title is "nothing but toxic survivors" and you don't mention anything else than players simply using the resources the map gave them with zero input on their part in the map's generation.
I could say the same about some things that killer's did that were set in place and then changed because of survivors outcry. What that is called is exploits is what that sounds like
-
@Junylar said:
Except Badham, probably.
Anyone else noticed it? Just look at it:
- Haddonfield - no comments.
- Gideon - indoors trash, was even worse before the rework.
- Hawkins - indoors trash, joke pallets and hard to find gens.
- Midwich - hallways of doom and gens hidden behind 7 seals.
- RCPD - no comments.
That is why I'm afraid of the next licensed chapter, which will bring one more abomination of level design to the map rotation.
Of course you'd say badham, one of the most survivor sided maps besides Haddonfield. Also why cry about not finding any gens when there's so many perks that find them for you?
-
@Killing_Time said:
It's best to just main Spirit & Nurse to prevent this. Since Billy got killed and Freddy got buried, I've been thrashing survivors with Wraith & Spirit. When I see keys, I bring out the NOED Nurse with double recharge add-ons and Ebony Mori.

See but the growing problem is you're locked into a handful of certain builds. There isn't enough diversity for killer perks yet

Because it literally doesn’t matter if you kill 3 or 4, it’s one thing to go for it, and another to slug for 10 minutes sweating your brain out, incredibly selfish.
oh so but it's mandatory not to do so after he prob dealt with 5everloops, prob deserved it in that case
-
@oxygen said:
Yeah if you think survivors basically playing too well is toxic then of course you'll find most survivors toxic. Looping is a part of survivor gameplay, why wouldn't they try to get the most out of a tile if they can get away with it? There's some stupid spots/tiles and combinations of tiles on some maps for sure but that's not the survivor's fault.
If your particular frustrations should be focused anywhere it should be on the game itself and not survivors. It makes no more sense than someone that thinks Spirit or something is too strong tearing into killers for simply playing her instead of discussing the killer's design itself. That does happen as well, and I'd call people doing that out for horribly misplaced blame too.
So you agree, there's a flaw in survivor design. That's part of my point, of course looping is part of the gameplay but if you don't play normal levels on killer it's hard to really see what i mean i guess
