The reason why killers derank is because theres no reason to stay in the lower ranks but be looped and other stuff so i cant play a killer i want to level without being at a hefty disadvantage. If you think things are fine like they are your sadly mistaken.

Where did I say it was fine? I just said that there should not be rewards. Lower ranks like to turn casual into competitive because "I am at first, means I am good" and no, this is about balance and experience. You can stay at rank 10 but no, players want to reach rank 1 with every means. Then "oh no, it's umplayable, buff killers", (don't missunderstand me, some killer needs buffs) but the main reason you will hear is "I am a red rank killer/survivor every seasons and...", the truth is nobody asked you to be a red rank killer, no one forced you to be, no one told you "if you're a red rank then you will have X reward", you rank because you want to do it and if you, know that red ranks are full of tryharders and you go there then you must be some sort of masochist. Red ranks wants rewards because "it's hard to stay there" and clearly it is if you play the game in a competitive mode. Ranks doesn't matter, ranks are here just for balancing players.

Again. This is not a competitive game, a competitive game rewards better players, then every player say "no, I need to be the best" and want to do their best. But here you have no rewards so you don't have the pressure to "win by any means" because the main purpose is to enjoy, not to be the best.

  • No. The game is not supposed to be competitive. Ranks are supposed to be in the game to help the new players that barely know the game. It's not fair for a new survivor to be against an experienced killer, and it's not fair for a killer to be against experienced survivors either.

  • If you're in PS4 that means your problem will be... aim. This add-on helps a lot with that. You don't need to aim to their face even. If you aim for his chest it should work as well.

  • Odd. I saw this in the nurse/spirit threads.

Devs: Those are the nurse/spirit changes.

Killer mains: This game is so survivor sided, old Freddy, Legion, insta-hatchet nerf. Oh but the devs don't touch SWF, we still have voice comms, adre, DS, BT, infinites, not only that they buffed Spine Chill so we can't play Myers anymore because survs will start to run while you are in tier I wich is very slow to catch them. Devs never played killer in red ranks. I challenge them to play and record the matches!

So, people in this forum like to cry, whether they are survivors or killers.

  • I like the new Kindred because it allows you to know if the killer camps or another survivor is going to unhook. So I can focus in doing gens, the best thing is I'll see if there is a survivor repairing closer to me so I could move and end the gen faster or cleanse totems. So, it allows to punish campers more than before.

Perhaps it is a matter of perspective, forgive me.

Myers needs time to Tier up to Tier III. I believe our friend wants it to be a better cooldown, I think he wants it to take less time to get to Tier 3.

I think it will be cool if Myers tier II recquired less Evil. I mean Evil Whitin II is not as great as Evil Whitin III and it will help Myers to apply more pressure in the early game without add-ons.

  • Then it's a really good buff for solos.

Are you sure you just have to be on the gens when they finished? Like, did you already do this challenge?

My brother did, I mean you don't need to repair a full gen. But if you are on high ranks that gens pop up too fast then yes, you will have a hard time.

  • Hag

When I am walking through the map and I step on one of her traps I almost got a heart attack.

That doesn't mean gut Nurse and move on. They promised us they'd handle her carefully and not nerf anything that was controversial.

As Zuko says in the Last Airbender, "what an amazing lie that was".

I am not saying that. I had ton of fun playing her, I am just saying that it will take time until she gets "love" again

  • @DarkPit said:

So i just wrote this Discussion because i couldnt find any discussion like this before. But imo some of the Archive Challenges are WAAAAY to hard to achieve. But before you write me that they arent that hard, i dont mean every single one challenge. I mean challenges like "do 3 gens with dark sense" or " kill all 4 survivor in the basement". And the reason why i think they arent achieveable without the perfect situation is thr fact that those have to be done in one match. If you dont play in a SWF party, the dark sense challenge is gonna be very hard to do since you have to FULLY repair 3 of 5 gens.

I think most of you will agree, because i totally am a no-lifer in this game, and its very hard to archieve these challenges, and i hope the devs will at least take away the "one trial" condition.

If you have another opinion or want this to get to the devs, you can leave a response

I think You don't need to fully do it. I mean if you see a few survivors fixing a gen and if you complete it with them then it counts.

  • Nurse is not ignored and perhaps is not the spot the devs want she to be but it takes a lot of time to rework a killer, there is already a lot of issues and reworks that devs need to do.

  • I know DS can be an issue but seriously? "We slug for a potential DS" Are you all scared for a 5 second stun? Please, slugging you waste a lot of time, just grab the survivor, wait the 5 seconds and they won't be able to use it never again.

So moonwalking as m1 killer at some walls when survivors cannot see the killer is not mindgame too? The information you get is 0 too

That's not a mindgame. Mindgame is when a survivor blinds you or t-bag you so you start chasing him/her because him/ her makes you angry. Mindgame is playing a trick with your mind, manipulating it.

Actually there are not much mind games in-game.

Nurse's the same. Where the survivor go, some players will say "mindgame" but it's just a guess or an assumption if you want.

Why would you use Premonition over Spine Chill? It's a worse Spine Chill with a cooldown. All it does is light up every 30 seconds. It doesn't tell you if the Killer is actually moving towards you or if they're just walking past you, it gives you a huge number of false positives, it only gives you a vague sense of where the Killer actually is, it doesn't help you more than once every 30 seconds, and it doesn't activate during chases.

I wrote "with it", both of them make a great combo, one tells you that a killer is watching to where you are and premonition tells you from where the killer is. But as I said, I don't use quite often.

@LordGlint if there is a wall means Myers can't stalk me so no problem... lol

@Blackowt_9120 wish I was, I suppose there are better teammates. My brother keeps DC'ing and he share his account with me so... no, I can reach 13 rank as low before my brother comes and I start from 18 again. Trying to fullfil the tomes gets really hard with 17 rank teammates and I like the lore so I try to fullfil it.

  • Nah, don't talk like Spne Chll is that great, unless you use Premonition with it. I only use it for the small speed boost, I turn my camera so, if I am facing ghostface there will be likely one moment when I hear the revealing sound and I can move. If it's Myers then I will see him due that he is a tall killer. If it's the Wraith I will see his foggy shape.

  • Well... people will give you rage messages. I was playing as The Plague and I am not good with her but I sacrificed a Dwight that was trying to blind me with a flashlight while I used the vomit. After that the guy told me that I was using a broken killer and I was laughing because it was not my fault that he tried to blind me in an open field with no pallets and no structures around.

The meat plant is famous for being so small. It's just 2 floors, and indoor maps are always kinda confusing.

Thank you for telling me I wasn't the only that got confused in indoor maps.

  • I knew that this was going to be the most voted option for some reason. As a killer is one of the worst map and I even tested it when we had old nurse.

  • Please, Spirit is a strong killer that doesn't need add-ons. I use her only with the brown ones. I would understand on nurse but calling this a nerf it's really a reason to laugh about. Stop being drama queens.

  • I am sorry but I think I don't understand what your point is. An event is supposed to be something fun and enjoyable, the reward is that... a reward. I completed the BBQ event and the previous Chinese Year Event as well but if everyone could get the same for free. Why not? I did those events for fun, not because I wanted a reward. The reward should motive you to play more.

  • I think they won't remove prayer breads but they will rework it instead.

  • Generally I do. The only cases I don't do it is when I know the survivor played very poorly so I think it will be more like a waste but generally I do. Sometimes the another survivor has selfcare and borrowed time and we manage to escape.

  • There is a problem with this. Not every SWF teams are sweaty. Even if they are full of meta perks, some of the SWF teams are not even good.

    What we need is:

Map reworks so the killer won't be stuck in infinites anymore (a change in the killer shack coudl be good, perhaps removing the pallet and the window there).

Rework or buff/nerf some meta perks like "Adrenaline".

Voice comms are not what makes SWF good, is knowing each other, their strenghts, their personal skills is what makes it great.

  • This thread is cool because it works either way with killers and survivors as well. And it's funny when people says that you use a perk of a DLC like you purchased every DLC or have 1K hours in-game.

From the survivor's side you will hear:

Gen rush? Use ruin (DLC I think it's free on consoles though), Corrupt Intervention (DLC) and PGTW (DLC)

The survivors blinds you? Use lightborn and franklin's demise (Paid DLC)

The survivors loops you? Use bamboozle (DLC) and spirit fury (DLC)

    And git gud...

From the killer's side you will hear:

Spirit? Run spine chill, premonition and Iron Will (so you need those three perks JUST in case you face a spirit)

The killer is camping ? Use Borrowed Time (it's funny because if you're the one getting camped you need that another surv run it)

The killer is tunneling you? Use Decisive Strike (Paid DLC)

Now that I am seeing it, all the meta perks for survivors are from the base game.

This is a moot conversation. I have brought so many keys into a game and either:

    A) Died before the hatch was revealed

    B) Never found the hatch (These are such a pain to find)

    C) Didn't need to use the key and waste it (or an add-on) so I just left out the door

The key is fine as is, it guarantees nothing with bad gameplay. Even if you get out, if you're not survive with friends it's really hard to let people know, "I've found the hatch, let's go". This game needs to stop making changes because survive with friends abuse it.

When I put on an Ebony Mori there are only two outcomes I've had:

    A) 3k

    B) 4k

I don't like using Ebony Mori's because it does directly affect other players BP earnings, but when the Rift gives you tasks like kill all four survivors in one match... it's just an easier way to accomplish the task.

I already explained. The key is fine if you're a single survivor. If you're a SWF it's not the same. As a single survivor you depend that a team helps you to get 2 gens done.

If I am a solo, there is no way (unless using the map add-on that creates a light) that another survivor could say me "here is the hatch". As a SWF I can say "the hatch is in the killer's shack" as an example, let's suppose there are 3 survivors and 4 generators done. One can say "ok, I will use the infinite in the coal tower" and buy time for the team (2 people in this case). Then when the survs open the hatch and escape. The guy will either escape via the hatch or if mr. killer is good and I refuse that he get bloodpoints he will DC.

I am not saying that having four people escaping through the hatch is easy but is certainly easier if you're a SWF team.

  • @SilentSpectre said:

Just make keys only allow the user to escape, ez balance

There is an achievement, that's why I put the condition that only allow the key user to escape only if the generators are not powered.

The difference is legion is still horrible..and not only did they put ds back in the meta strong as ever, they gutted it's only counter perk for good measure..so you see why this doesnt look to being taken equally under consideration

Legion is not horrible, as a main legion I agree with some changes. It was needed to change the movement speed, you barely could hit a survivor without frenzy. Legion need some love in their add-ons and maybe change that you don't lose all your power for missing a hit, maybe losing 20% of the power, and I understand, the change was to avoid the stab-legion. It was annoying as a survivor hearing stab-stab-stab-stab then hit.

Deep Wound needs some love as well, it's ok that feral frenzy is a non-lethal power but I think the deep wound timer should reduce even if it's not much when you're in-chase or in the killer TR (meaning the deep wound won't be a lethal power but you still will be penalized if you remain without being healed). Of course, to prevent abuses the killer wouldn't see it.

If it's ok for you why are you here griping that keys need to be reworked so your match doesn't happen to you again?

Because a main killer doesn't deserve to be humillated because he lost? I am a main survivor but I get angry when I see another survivors bullying the killer, such behavior should not be allowed.

  • @Objectively_speaking said:

I disagree with the changes you suggested mainly for one reason, the prioritize one side over the other. If, and only if you had suggested terms applicable with that of nerfing Mori AND toolboxes (Both allow quicker objective completion). Then, maybe this proposistion could be considered. Not only that, but these changes seem heavily biased (every post can be slightly but this post appears to stem from ONE match) therefore these would not be rational changes. All in all, these changes aren't balanced because they focus on heavily restricting one side (survivors) over the other (killers/other items).

Also in my opinion, I'm all for the removal of Mori's, Keys, and toolboxes (all allow for quicker objective completion). However, What you have suggested isn't the best way to accomplish this I believe.

Tl;Dr these changes shouldn't go through because they favor one side over the other.

Hmm if you're not in a chase and see the hatch then it's not punishment for them. The only thing that punish is when someone try to catch your attention makng noises because the hatch is at their side wich is an unnaceptable behavior. I mean yes, you won Why do you need to brag about it? The EGC as an example helps about the ones who were waiting in the hatch 30 mins more or less making noise so they could jump in front of the killer.

Also. Why everyone brings moris to the thread? Don't missunderstand me, they need some sort of rework but not being removed.

About the toolboxes. A toolbox is not an issue but is it when 2 or more are in the same gen. So What we could do? 2 survivors in the same gen repair it at 2x (40 secs) wich is a huge improvement, so instead of 40 secs. Why not 60 secs? So toolboxes won't be a big issue there.

  • @Zamblot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/103122/the-only-rework-the-key-needs

Dont sugarcoat it and call it a rework as if things are worked around. That would just be a straight up complete nerf (I only really agree that it taking time could be good for the game but not nearly 20 seconds, just enough so survivors can't do it midchase and do a fat tbag

Well, I put 20 secs as an example. Doesn't need to be that amount of time.

  • @VincentRedfield said:

How about you get good instead of complaining they did enough gens to make hatch spawn and they found it all before you did anything.

Complaining? Am I looking like someone who complains? The match that I had was an example, and it's funny that you say it when I got 2K and hooked them twice, so it's ok for me.

  • @MrsGhostface said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/825757#Comment_825757

Maybe I didn’t come out clearly, I am saying that moris are definitely op so I think survivors have a right to bring keys.

I am not saying survivors can't bring keys. I am saying that there is a way to make it fairest for killers. I am not angry or something. I killed two and hooked them twice so, it's a victory for me.

  • @MrsGhostface said:

As a killer main, I think keys are fine. We have moris, most killers will just mori a survivor after their first hook, which you can’t argue that it’s not op. I ALWAYS pay attention to what survivors are holding, and if it’s a key I eliminate them immediately. Also, you can check under the hook after they’re dead to see if they had a weaved ring or if it’s dropped for others to pick up, watch out for that.

Well, as a survivor main. Yes, they are OP. Specially if a killer hooked you in less than a minute of the match and then camp you to mori you. (wich is really frustrating) About the key, I saw the Claudette but the other one I swear it has a flashlight and not a key.

  • @Okapi said:

The only nerf Keys need is that it should take 5-10 seconds for the survivor to unlock and open the hatch. That way survivors couldn't just open the hatch with a click of a button during a chase.

Moris should be changed so they can only be used once every survivor has been hooked at least once.

Yes, I know how unfair moris can be by first hand haha. And yes, maybe 10 secs is ok. Would be cool to see it tested in a PTB

  • @Atrushan88 said:

I think that keys already require you to do most of your objective and that while a killer can get a 4k with a mori which is an OFFERING, a survivor can't get a 4 escape easily with a key.

Well, it's not easy of course... unless as I said you're a 4 SWF team. Solo survivors won't have any problem with this change but a 4 SWF team that knows who has a key will have a easier escape if the killer can't apply enough pressure because he's slower.

  • Well, the last year event seemed alive somehow. I am a main surv so yes, people suicided a lot but people were motivated to burn offerings. Not just for the BP but because they were doing something different.

I know, the problems that they had in the PTB, the archives and the rift were a lot so they hadn't the time to do a better event. I am not angry about that, they did a lot of things so they just ran out of time in the end.

  • It can be fun, and a fresh new thing for the game.

  • Well, we need to think. The game is supposed to be fair? No.

If DBD were meant to be fair... survivors & killers wouldn't have perks. Why? Because they give you an unfair advantage. Survivors & killers wouldn't have item nor add-ons either. Why? Because they give you a boost.

The game should be balanced, meaning survivors & killers both having chances to win. The concept OP should be about the balance as well...

Keys are fine and have just one use... open the hatch. Are they a cheap escape? No, because in order to spawn the hatch, you need more gens than people alive or that a single survivor is alive. A killer can close the hatch but that doesn't mean that's a guaranteed victory. Some people think key is unfair because they think it is.

4 survivors escaping via the hatch it's very unlikely, and if they do then you're not good as a killer. It's an achievement as well and a very hard one. Not a lot of people have it because it is.

So, yes keys are fine and should stay, they don't provide a cheap escape.

We don't need to forget that a killer hear the hatch sound farest than a survivor.

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/822469#Comment_822469

how do you listen to sound que for power bar recharge during chase? It's literally replaced by chase music

It's not the same sound as the PTB and yes, it's hard now to hear that sound because it's mixed with the chase sound.

  • BHVR doesn't wonder. If you need to know @Peanits and another devs play the game. A lot of people talk like they don't know the issues with their game. If you think Ruin is mandatory, please watch how they play the game. Perhaps you're complaining because you're not as good as you think?

  • This will make lobby dodging a serious issue for a killer. Also, knowing who the killer is means you'll have an advantage, because you will know the killer's power.

  • @doitagain_ said:

Torn bookmark is straight up trash. If you can’t blink through objects then it’s near impossible to catch survivors that are running around any structure such as the large wooden buildings or boat in backwater swamp or any house in haddonfield for example.

    I agree!

  • You're talking like hex: ruin is a kind of savior. Thanks to ruin survivors learnt how to do great skill checks, so in part it's the killer's fault for relying too much on a hex. A lot of killers used & use ruin like it's some sort of saviour and now they are paying the price, survivors are getting better hitting great skillchecks with or without ruin so at the moment ruin is some kind of a joke for good survivors and something to be expected because as I said, a lot of killers use it like it's their saviour.

  • I play as solo so Why I would stay in a match knowing that maybe the other survivor can find the hatch and win the match? At least if I loss I'll give the other survivor a chance.

  • Why not? Let the survivor has his small chance.

  • @anarchy753 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/816252#Comment_816252

It's hyperbole, but not even by much, personally I'd be happy with a key nerf, but either way really.

It raises the chance of a key to 14% and you have 3% or 4% for a pink or purple key. It's not that much. And keys are not that strong anyway, unless they are a SWF team, only one person will use the key, wich means you killed 3 survivors or the EGC started. If it's the EGC then it's not much difference finding the hatch than escaping through an exist gte.

  • No.

The new map reworks will include a lot of pallets.

  • Yes, this game was supposed to be an horror game, the powerful killer against the scary survivors that must be careful that killers don't find them. Right now if a killer see a survivor, the survivors can just loop him for five gens and then escape, when the main idea was that pallets were a small help so survivors could hide.

1 … 20 21 22 23 24 … 28
