  • The thing with crawling is... killer players generally won't risk losing someone, besides. If you just lay in the floor then if the killer see a change in the HUD he will go to the last spot he saw you.

  • @Peanits said:

There's a bit of a double standard going on here. The same can be said for camping or tunneling. The answer to those are Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike respectively. There are certain things on both sides that can be countered by perks.

That does not, however, mean that anyone should need to bring a specific perk just in case someone picks 1 of the 17 killers. That would be like having to bring Iron Maiden just in case someone is using Head On. Or to use a more practical example from the past, having to bring Iron Grasp just in case people sabotage hooks.

@Peanits I know it's not the purpose of the thread but I tested Boil Over as a survivor, and as a killer I had the negative effect but the struggling effect never happended even if he was struggling, the only thing that did was negating the hook aura reading.

  • One thing is to lose, or being good at the game, wich is great. I am not a good survivor but I am nice as a survivor, I don't bully a killer if I am winning, nor I bully a survivor if I am a killer (unless they deserve it trying to bully someone). That's bad sportsmanship. Of course, I won't let the other side win but that doesn't mean I need to be a bad person.

  • I am not a main nurse, but nurse is unfun to play right now. And I had 2K in my last game (I am not good with her). Before the changes she was fun to play with. The four seconds is too much for a killer that needs his power because she is slower. The devs said "because after the fatigue you need to orient again" but the truth is... you know exactly where you are and you don't need it. At the moments the survivors bully her so much because even if you use add-ons you are still punished by using her power.

  • I agree. The inmersive part is a joke. Specially because this game is not a horror game anymore so smashing a button doesn't make you feel terror or something like that , just make you feel frustrated when the game don't recognize it.

  • @Darkkfall said:

Thank you guys, a get so frustrated because this, I mean, I'm learning a lot more these new days in DBD, and reaching a higger rank got me so angry about this, I never thought that there's a lot of counter x..x

I'm so sorry about this, and a big Thank YOU all to help me through this...

And again... I'm so sorry x..x

I used to think the same about BBQ, then I bought leatherface and though "Now I'll be the one having an OP perk" but then when I hooked a survivor I barely turn the camera and the auras dissapears. And well the other counters that people talked about.

  • I agree. I know some people complained that it was too easy. But taking a protection hit is inconsistent and a save unhook is not a "guaranted pip" because some other survivor could unhook. Besides, there was a lot of people complained that "what if a full SWF team comes with MoM?" there are only 8 saves per game, wich means only two people can activate it just by safe unhooks. And three at the most can activate it...

I had an idea. Why instead of protection hits and unhooking we do it just by safe unhooks? Then we guarantee that there won't be more than two MoM users per match.

    Oh and something more

    • Mettle of Man disables if all generators are powered and you're healthy.

We already have adrenaline and second wind. Actually the abuses happens a lot in the late game, between all generators powered and EGC.

Personally I think Adrenaline needs a rework or a nerf.

Doesn’t change the fact that they got nerfed, took nurse three years to get nerfed and spirit got released last year and now she is gonna get looked at. (Which I don’t agree with)

@GrootDude Can you be so kind to tell me where they say that they are going to look at Spirit? I am in a DbD facebook group and I would like to tell them the news. Thank you.

I think Spasmodic Breath should just stack with Matchbox

no I don't agree with Anxious Gasp being on basekit but they should increase the survivor scream range to 8 meters right now you have to hug the survivor when blinking to make them scream

Yes. Having a range should work pretty fine

  • Your creativity is good but the power is a really strong (and unfair) and the perks useless.

Power: The power reminds me a lot of Nurse's blinks. But seems it will be OP due that you don't receive some sort of fatigue and you can avoid being stunned. Imagine if Nurse hadn't stun at all. But still Nurse will be fairest than that because Nurse is still slower and still need to catch survivors with a blink.

Perk 1: This perk is pretty useless until the end of the trial. The hatch it's supposed to be: the one who find it first, the one who win (still survivors have exit gates but if RNG is bad then they are screwed). The perk is a lot like Left Behind but stronger, because the aura reading is farest. Anyway this perk maybe looks good on paper but in the end no one will waste a perk slot just for looking for the hatch. Again as "left behind" that nobody use it even now.

Perk 2: First you already receive a notification when you're closer to a chest but having a perk that only makes me notice if someone is opening a chest is pretty useless even if it's far. Don't you think? I mean I am hearing a generator and going there. Would I waste a lot of time only for seeking a survivor that is searching on a chest and that will notice that I am getting closer to him/her?

Second. If I (as a survivor) don't have Ace in the Hole it will be very suspicious, specially because you have 0% chance of winning an add-on. And if I see that I am granted with the exposed status effect then I will let the object there.

Third: The aura is revealed within 6/12/18 meters, if you're not closer then it's useless and if it's closer then the obsession will have a huge disadvantage because you will know exactly where she/he is. Actually if you're closer then it will be unfair that you can see the obsession aura (a lot of people already complains about OoO so... we don't need to create a problem to fix it later).

  • Well, I feel unclean after that. I had to camp a surv because he was closer to the hatch (two survs remaining ) and I needed to close the hatch to trigger the EGC and kill the last one.

  • Well, some of the achievements are not impossible, still very hard. And the reward is just lore, wich is great due that I love lore, but what I mean is the reward may not be worst the risk.

Besides, it's not about your personal skill. It's not like the dailys "be chased X seconds as Feng Min", wich is relying in your skill to evade and/or loop the killer.

Last minute hero: We are relying that a killer has the chance to hook survivors three times in the EGC. It may not be impossible but as I said we rely to much on the killer skill and that another survivors are not intelligent to escape.

Fight back: Stunning the killer may be difficult and you can say "hey it's a good achievement because it recquires skill as a survivor", but What happens if another survivor starts droping pallets like a madman? We are talking that you should stun a killer 4 times IN a single match.

I think a lot of people will loss their rank on purpose in order to do it. Making unpleasant game experiences for new players.

  • @eXoDuSs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/800812#Comment_800812

The only skill needed is to loop the killer which is not very hard, after the 1st gen is done the detective perk finds the ruin and they dont even need to be good at hitting great skill checks.

Did you read the perk? When a gen is completed, in a radius of X meters all totems/ generators/totems are shown, but you don't know if that totem is an hex. You see only a dull totem.

  • Stop being so biased here. The risk is "I can see you but you can see me". And yes, it's a real strong perk (unfair with SWF teams) that should be reworked somehow, wich can mess with a lot of killers if played wisely and some can bully a killer with it (a lot of player do that). But you must know a simple and important fact. NOT EVERY PLAYER/SURVIVOR IS A BULLY.

  • @teegyl said:

Like really you get what 150 a level or so?

When you need 9000 for a new killer or 21,000 for a cosmetic It's way to much of a grind.

First it depends on your level and second we are talking that you can get a killer/ survivor for free.

You're comparing two situations that are not alike.

What the OP was talking was what happens when they they are not tunneling and have enough time to down two different people and hook them up but still get hit with the decisive strike because it had like 5 seconds left.

A lot of survivors will take advantage of that by purposefully sticking on generators or or destroying totems in your face and if you try to grab them off it you get punished even though you didn't tunnel.

You experienced with straight up tunnelling and had nothing to do with what the discussion of this post is talking about

What I mean is at the way I am seeing it. It won't punish tunnelers if they don't tunnel in the "classic way". I mean tunnelers will search another way (and you have more ways with this new idea).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/792329#Comment_792329

    Two responses to this.

One, that sounds like a serious misplay on your teammates' part. If the injured survivor is throwing themselves at the killer and getting killed, that's their fault for screwing you over. Another reason why voice comms should be added into the game.

Two, there will always be edge cases with DS where it can't do its job of preventing tunnelling. Nothing can stop a good killer from tunnelling you if he really really wants you dead, no matter how many incentives there are to do otherwise. My rework of DS is not meant to make the perk perfect. It's meant to make the perk better.

    @Volfawott said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/792329#Comment_792329

Then the question is why is an injured survivor wasting time trying to get you away from tunneling when they could have just been doing generators and let you use your decisive strike.

As a killer if someone is stupid enough to try to pull my attention whilst they are injured after I down somebody. They're screwing over their team because now your teammates have to deal with saving two people potentially leaving no one doing objectives rather than just dealing with saving one person and having two people still on objectives

The question is not why a survivor did or didn't an action. And I know. There are a lot of perks (from both sides) that don't work under certain circumstances when they should.

But I like the idea because I am going to write what happended to me one time.

A minute can be a giant amount of time, but under some circumstances it's not. One time I was playing as Feng. I was being chased more or less a minute and then a doctor decided to camp me. Well, two gens poped up. I was on second stage now when a Nea helped me without BT (Doctor still near), I used Lithe so I gain some distance between him and me. Looping for 30 secs when the EGC started. Then I was trying to go to the exit gate that was closer. After the doctor hit me, a surv with a flashlight came and doctor saw her, doctor hit her and wait 10 secs until he decided to grab me again (5 secs more or less of DS remaining) then I hit the skillcheck.

So, yes, he not only was tunneling me but he was camping me as well.

  • I am not used to GG, that doesn't mean I have not fun in a match. That's because I am not used to play online games so I am not used to GG either.

  • Well let's see a way that a killer can tunnel in this case and not being punished. Let's suppose the killer is tunneling you (or targeting you if you want to call it that way, wathever the reason is), you go down but then another injured survivor try to make them leave, the surv goes down because he is not that good or whatever the reason is, and the killer hook him first. Does that mean the killer didn't tunnel you? The killer effectively tunneled you but for whatever the reason is, he choosed the another survivor.

Anyway, I think it's better focusing on perks like "Adrenaline" wich I think can be powerful and unfair under certain circumstances.

  • I don't DC but I can understand why some people DC even if it's not fair. The game is not competitive but a lot of people are tryhard enough. I mean the game purpose is to have fun, and I play since last year but more and more I see people bringing the "meta perks" when the main purpose is to have fun. Some killers DC if ruin is destroyed in less than a minute. The same things with camping wich some says "but your teammates can gen rush" and yes, they can but in the meanwhile I am just in a hook simulator for 2 mins. How am I supposed to enjoy this?

And yes, we can say how frustrating is for a killer being matched against good survs. Not because they are good, but because they're salty. T-bagging and stuff. A lot of killers can't break infinite loops, those loops are being abused by tons of players.

So, basically people DC because they are tired and frustraed. The game idea is good but it's not cool that people make fun of you every match just because they are salty or because they're try hards and want to win every match and being salty about their triumph. That's why killers bring ruin, PGTW, not because they want to win but because it's not fun that those salty survivors just win and the killer player "needs to move on". Killers or survs are people so you can't bully them just because you want to have a laugh. And that behaviour should be punished.

In resume, you can't stop people DC'ing but you if you make rules to make the game healthier, saying "this is fair in this situation but in this situation is not", then people won't DC, at least you will see less DC per game. For example if you say "t-bagging because you're winning will be illegal then more killer players can complain about they being bullied".

  • As a survivor:

I think it's toxic if I am hiding in a spot and another surv comes and block me for a whole minute (or more) just to move their camera (I see it whit his head movement) or t-bagging.

When the killer's block you (it's an easy hit so why not?) but instead of hitting you. He just stand there for the whole match and ruin your experience.

Tunneling is a hard topic because I see two ways of tunneling. If one survivor unhook me without BT and the killer hooks me again then it's the survivor fault (even if it ruins my experience). The other way that I think it's wrong is if I just pick a certain survivor and the killer just focus in you, just because you use it (without t-bagging or quick clicking the flashlight). As an example I played a lot with Claudette recently just for leveling her and obtain Selfcare as a teachable. A lot of killers think I am playing in "easy mode" and ignores every other survivor just to focus on me.

Camping. Well as a killer I think it's a bad strategy and ruins completely the experience for a survivor.

As a killer (I think the killer experience is worst by the toxicity and that's why we see more killer complains):

T-bag: Why do you need to tease me? (That's why I think devs should do something about infinites, the game design was intended to use pallets as a distraction or for avoiding a hit, not for running in circles, specially because the majority of killers are not made to face those loops, M1 killers suffer a lot about them)

Bodyblock: I don't see an issue if I am going to hook someone but there are certain times where a survivor drop a pallet and you can't destroy it because there is a survivor behind you.

Let me explain, for destroying a pallet the killer's model go slightly behind but that can't happen when there is a survivor blocking the killer's model (models can't be overlapped).

Rapid clicking with flashlights: I mean it's used just to tease and even if you tell me "ok, but that means the flashlight is being depleted" that doesn't mean it doesn't still bother

Flashlight saves: I don't really see issues with it because it's a game feature but What happens when even if you turn you can't avoid being blinded because there are two people trying to blind you and they can still blind you from the side?

Also flashlights should be reworked. Why If a killer is not seeing the flashlight it can still be blinded by it?

If the killer is looking not directly to the flashlight but it happens that the flashlight beam is big enough to catch their eyes, even at his side, the flashlight will blind the killer.

In real life a flashlight can only blind you if it catch your eyes in front of you.

The exhaustion but not actually taking effect thing is very common right now thanks to the latency, just as killers are having an easy time because they get handed free hits due to the latency a ton. It's kind of boring have that easy a time, but also frustrating that it happens when playing survivor too.

I don't run DH from a long time ago so I only see it as a killer at the moment. But I may check it.

  • Well there is no option for "both". It's a great perk, and if people are gen rushing that means there will be just one or two gens being worked so you can track them easier. And sometimes if you're closer to a gen the survs working on it will stop to hide, and it's cool to see when they come to the generator and see that it's blocked.

  • Thing is, there was a difference due to latency that made DH easier to use. At the moment DH works but if DH effect ends and you happen to be in the place where the killer's hit is registred by the game then you will likely be hit.

  • Voice chat is just a good idea on paper. Aside from the atmosphere. In reallity we will hear people laugh, maybe some language abuses, or maybe someone hearing music wich will make it hard for people to focus. This feature was implemented in another games and it went bad as well.

  • Well, even with headphones it's hard to hear them because they are not that loud so making them a bit louder just when she is phasing, will be very helpful to avoid changing prayer breads.

Also, not everyone plays with headphones and there is a difference between headphones and speakers. So, if you play with speakers you won't be able to hear them

  • Well... ghostface daily but I am glad that doesn't appear that much.

    And opening the exit gate

  • Just came to say... BT is not broken, if you're not near the hook then BT becomes useless. Also, you can go for the unhooker instead of the unhooked if you know someone may have BT and it's closer to your TR. Adrenaline is broken.

  • Spirit is pretty strong as base and with add-ons she is super strong. Of course prayaer breads should change a bit though.

  • Mending in-chase even passively it's a bad idea even if it's capped. I would change that if you mend yourself then it takes more time (you mend yourself at 50%) than if another survivor mends you. At the moment there is no difference between those two.

You can actually get the adept killer achievement with just 3K. I did it with the Nurse, killed three of them but the last one escaped through the gates. I think that reaching 9 hooks is enough to get it, or at least you can be a Merciless Killer without 4K if you have enough hooks and did good during the trial.

I should test it. Every adept that I have is with 4K so I don't know.

  • If there are no generators done I can think that there were someone who DC or potatoes who try to unhook themselves and die trying or if they are potatoes that they don't last more than two secs in a chase.

Why, if you're good you should be punished for having bad teammates?

I think the adept killer achievement should change as well. At least with a 3K instead of four.

  • Using certain perks to counter killers is a bad idea though. Besides No Mither keep you injuried all the match wich is a bad idea. Unbreakable just work one time.

Besides it's like asking killers to bring Ruin every match just because some SWF teams pop gens too fast.

I guess some people are frustrated that in the role that they enjoy more (killers) they are "forced" to bring it. It's not necessary to bring hex: ruin every match, also it's not necessary to be in red ranks every season, I mean, seriously If you don't enjoy being in red ranks because you face so many sweaty survivors. Why are you trying your best to get in rank 1 everytime? Just because you want to say "I am a red rank killer" so I am good in this game and know what this game needs? Play casually with rank 10 guys.

Devs have made it clear they don't take suggestions regarding increasing killer base speed. They don't respond to these kinds of suggestions.

More tools for Killers to win chases would be nice. Same for more or better stealth options as Survivor. I play both sides, I definitely want to be able to exit chases more often instead of having to loop the Killer.

Oh, thanks. I didn't know that.

  • The Nea's put the blue hair, flashlight with good add-onds and a nickname like "I am toxic" thinking they are good. Then they start trying to bother the killer. they doesn't last more than 3 seconds in-chase. Or they are crutch with Urban Evasion all the match.

  • I like the idea. Actually I had the same idea in mind. Survivors are supposed to have an advantage in hiding and killers in chasing. At the moment the survivors are good in hide and chases (loops) as well. Killers shouldn't be looped because they are supposed to be good "hunting their prey" but right now a good survivor and a good team specially makes the hunter a prey when it should be the other way around.

I would like to see an increase of 5% (10% in some cases) of all killer's base speed. I tested it with PWYF and it is really good for some killers. Not as a perk, the killer's base speed should be bigger and Bloodlust should give you a better boost speed (like 0.5 , 1.0 , 1,5 or at least 0.3 , 0.6 , 0,9 )

Survivors not playing the game differently when a killer is used does not mean the killer is broken.

Why are we going to nerf the hardest killer in the game that is rarely even used to her max potential when SWF can still cuck and destroy any killer they want. If 5% of the survivor community is too small to balance around then so is the incredibly small pool of Nurses that can play her well. She still has counterplay, it's up to the survivor to use it.

PTB Nurse has counterplay and then extra on top. Good luck ever beating even a mild SWF now.

SWF should not have that amount of power... Stop being biased. "Oh, killers are nerfed but in the meanwhile sweaty SWF are..." and believe me, I went against those sweaty tryhard SWF a lot and I don't like it but that's not the way because half of the players, play solo and it is not cool facing a mastered nurse as a solo (and a lot of player lower his rank on purpose so It's not a mistake saying green ranks). A lot of players just like to play casually with friends and end dying so SWF mechanic is not the issue. The problem is when you are being bullied by these SWF people who plays a casual game like a competitive one when it's not and their behaviour should be banned in someway like disabling SWF option for them for a while.

By the way, I am a main surv but think that perks like Adrenaline should change because a lot of things have changed since then.

  • I am doing it but... not at the moment. I have characters without prestige and level 50 but too much offerings and objects. It will take a time to prestige them.

  • @FireHazard said:

    Sure. I was curious.

  • Depends. If a killer is obsesed with you, ignoring another players I think it's unfun for you, because even if you're a pro player, if the killer is obsessed he will likely got you, even if he lost all the generators just chasing you.

If you had the bad luck that a farmer unhooked you, then it's unfun as well but the killer did an easy play for them and you can't really blame them.

Oh, I have a bad habit of looking at the pic instead of the username lol. Still I think I saw your comments.

As I said, I was just curious, no offense mean. I am not a main nurse but I do agree that some of the new changes are... not really good.

  • Don't missunderstand me but Didn't you created like two or perhaps three threads talking about your opinion on PTB Nurse?

  • I know it's hard to create new content but, a lot of players are excited when they come and try the game because hey, it's a real nice idea but... every match is the same, as a survivor is repair, avoid killer, find ruin, clean ruin/ totems, open the exit gate/find hatch. As a killer well, even if you change the killer, the idea is the same, find a survivor, kick the generator, chase the survivor, be looped, down the survivor, be hit with a flashlight, down the survivor again, hook it, search for another survivor, hit them, find the first survivor, grab him from the locker, be stunned by DS.

The game needs new objetives for survivors and for killers as well, more than the archives I mean.

  • As a killer I had a Dwight that ran into the corner of Mother's Dwelling map, when he was closer to the corner he tried to blind me with the flashlight in open field. I was using Plague so started hitting him with the Vile Purge (I had the daily and wanted the Adept as well), when I was holding the button to use it again, he tried to blind me but failed because I hitted him again with Vile Purge. He was broken so I hitted him and hook him (There was one more but was already hooked). He was salty in the post chat saying that I didn't know how to play because I used a broken killer, it was hillarious because I was bad as Plague and made a lot of mistakes as well.
