I already hit level 70 in the rift and the only challenge I have not been able to do is save someone carried by the killer by blinding the killer.
You don't need to save someone, just blind the killer while carrying a survivor. If you attempt to blind the killer earlier when they are picking a survivor you can blind them without them releasing the survivor, the challenge gets done.

I never used it, but I have been closer though. You can play fine without ruin if you know how to apply pressure, of course there are some bad design maps that will make bad games but that happens for survs as well...

Nah im just kidding shes fine. (In all seriousness though can we have a month where a killer isnt on radar?).
Hahaha good one. But yes, she is fine.

There was pallet vacuum and that was not fair as it warped you 2 meters through the pallet. There is no warping that reduces distance on hooks, it is just shifting the killer to be positioned in front of the hook. You are in contact with the hook before and after, no warping. The pallets have a left and a right side with 2m difference, and it makes a difference if you stand left or right of a pallet. It doesn't make a difference if you stand left or right of a hook
it makes difference when you finish the wiggle bar two metters before the killer reach the hook and he smash the space bar, making all the smashing A & D useless.
-
@Deadeye said:
There is no hook vacuum. You press space when in range and get the hook. The "vacuum" you might mean is just the positioning in front of the hook. You just need "body contact" with the hook from a certain angle (45° ?) and that's it. You wouldn't expect the killer to place himself pixelperfect in front of the hook, do you?
And I would like to see video proof of the 3 seconds. I'm pretty sure OP is exaggerating. The worst I've seen on servers so far is that I tried to grab someone vaulting on the big machines in cornfield. Could have downed him already before the vault but I wanted the grab. Grab animation started, I got stuck in the animation and suddenly the survivor continued vaulting and it took so long to update that I wasn't even able to swing at the window to get the hit. But that was in total also under a second. Like 0.7 to 0.9
I will change a word about that sentence... there is no pallet vacuum. You press space when in range and get the pallet. Do you think pallet vacuum was fair? Well, that's the same about hook vacuum.

What I did is: played normally and tried my very best to kill 2 survivors as early as possible.. and then convinced the last 2 survivors that I want to farm. And once they did the gens I killed them.
Haha I did the same, and I had the perfect excuse because one survivor DC before.

I disagree. You’re intentionally skipping out of the game. Yeah, it sucks BALONEY to be left stranded, but I still play until the Entity naturally claims my soul. And yes, I would say it is toxic when you can either see someone running towards you or they’re right there in front of you.
Excuse me but... did you tried asking the community? I mean, I don't like that people has to go into SWF just because your teammates are unreliable, but at least you will get your challenge done and perhaps make a new friend, or friends.
-
Well, there is a challenge, wich I haven't finished. I literally loss 15 flashlights (yes, I am bad with them, that's why I never use them).

I am at level 35, but I was in the hospital for 2 weeks (and before that I had 2 other surgeries) - and it’s only now really that I’m starting to play regularly again. I still have to complete level 2 and get through level 3’s epilogue. My logic is to go back to level 2 on either some downtime or if it gets down to the wire and hopefully earn some easier rift credits before it ends.
I am sorry to hear you were in the hospital. Did you know that you could reach the epilogue before finishing all the chapter? In that way you can priorize another easier tasks in chapter 3 without needing to finish all the task of the chapter 2.

I think the only thing that should change about GF it's how his stalks works. Sometimes the survivor is revealed if GF stalks his aura, with perks like "I'm all ears" (tested by me).
When you stop stalking survivors, the stalk progress should start depleting slowy, it's not fair if a survivor gets to avoid you all the match you can still stalk for less than a second and expose him because the stalk progress was at 95% (as an example)
For the survivor's side
There should be a closer proximity from where you can reveal GF, without add-ons the distance it's quite a lot
About the info that ghostface gives... it's not like spirit that you saw her standing still. You can see ghostface even without terror radius.

Respect. The people that go "Boycott X game until it's removed" tick me off; but I have exceptional respect for people who face their fears it's not easy to do.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Trully.

Well, I am arachnophobic but... I need to get over it. When I was a child I could not even look at the spiders in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, now I can, so it would be ok to overcome my fears.

Gen times are fine. I know that gens pop up too fast if you're against an SWF team or optimal survivors... but unless you're on red ranks (and even in red ranks this doesn't happen frequently) the "gen rushing" is just a dream. You don't need to think "I am a red rank surv/killer and I think..." the game is not only about red ranks, and being honest, a lot of players are in green/yellow ranks where there is a mix between the red ranks that lower their ranks on purpose and the unexperienced players.
Besides, that encourage players to go into SWF teams and make solo a more frustrating experience.

A lot of them run the ring, which deletes it from the map when they die.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/900154#Comment_900154
How about when a survivor or two are dead? How are you supposed to avoid it then? There's only two targets left.
I've seen people do things like, hook save in my face running deliverance + BT + DS + unbreakable. The survivor coming off the hook has BT + DS. The survivor that just went onto the hook gets a free safe escape through BT and deliverance, and can get himself safely off at any point. You can't pick him up, you can't slug him, and he can basically gets to do gens for free for an entire minute. Or you can chase the other guy who also has DS.
Clearly not an abusable perk at all though, strictly anti-tunneling.
Then that's the issue that I told... Sometimes it's better get hit in the early game so you don't have to deal with those issues when there are two survivors left. Also... I am missing your point so excuse me if I can answer this properly
If someone unhook himself/herself with deliverance they become broken.
BT only works for the user that is saved from the hook so I don't really see the issue with it. If they unhook on your face that means they are closer to you so when you are going away from the hooked, simply go moonwalking then you will see if another survivor comes, if another survivor has BT and unhook in your face, chase the unhooker, at the moment they will have 30 secs or less left, and you will say "And if I slug them, they will recover with unbreakable", it simple, extend the chase... or better slug them, unbreakable only works one time so if they use it, and if you're closer down them again, by that moment DS would go away. If the other survivors who has DS comes and heal the slugged then chase him but not going too far of the slugged survivor

still think ds just needs to deactivate if another survivor is hooked because then you werent tunneled. So tired of a ds user unhooking infront of my face and i down them and then i have to wait for about 30 seconds which slows my momentum to a crawl or i can chase the recently unhooked oh look the ds user had bt Great... and they probably have ds as well....fantastic.
But you're tunneling. If someone unhooks in your face and you chase the unhooked then that's tunneling. By the way, someone unhooking in your face who has DS still active... looks like you like camping.

Ok, I hook a survivor and they get unsaved literally 5 seconds later as I’m turning and starting to walk away. I turn around and down the person who made the save, hook them and the previously unhooked person is still right there and goes down. All of this happens in a minute, I don’t consider this tunneling as much as the survivors playing very poorly.
Generally if they’re this bad then the stun won’t be too bad so I eat DS... but still it’s clearly not an anti tunnel perk only
Well, exactly that happended to me yesterday. And you know what? It was my fault, because I wanted an easy hook.
it's like saying NOED it's unfair for survivors because you're being punished by doing the main objetive. You wouldn't say that would you? If someone unhook when you attempt to leave and you hit the unhooked but... surprise he has endurance, don't say BT is unfair as nobody forced you to come back nor hit the unhooked. You have two options with a DS man a) hit them and slug them (of course meanwhile searching another survivor), b) hit and grab them so that will disable their DS forever (Even if you loss the chase, sometimes it's better to disable their DS, specially if it's the early game so it won't become problematic in the late game).
-
The only time I had issues with DS as a killer was... in fact, when I was tunneling. And a 5 seconds stun with a 15 second chase is not so long. If you're chasing another surv and you hear that the DS survivor was unhooked, and you approach there well, you are tunneling. There are four survivors, 60 secs seems to be long but is not. Just chase and hook someone else.

A million times yes, and for survivors as well.
-
Besides, I thought main killers doesn't like 3 minutes match, and honestly as a survivor it bothers as well that 5 gens pop up in 2 mins so, yes, let's waste time in healing and extend the match.
-
No... I am tired even in purple ranks that I am at the side of a survivor and them refuses to heal me. If I need to waste two perk slots and no relying in potatoes then I'll do it. Of course, I don't go to the corner like a potato.
-
You can use the add-on that apply broken status effect for one min.
-
The rework surely hit her, but no. Sure, it's annoying waiting for the 3 seconds but in the truth her fatigue was too short to allow the survivor to lost her. What is annoying for most of nurse mains is that she has no god power. About the ones using basekit nurse I agree that nurse is not easy to play with but having a 2 seconds fatigue wasn't long enough for survivors.
-
Even if it's frustrating, it's hard to tell who is using it as an exploit and who isn't.
-
Well, I think you need some tips playing against those killers @Metamatmem . And I think the people here won't be very helpful. First I want to tell you that everyone has problems at the start of the game because you don't know how the killers power works, or how a survivor can defend against a killer, I will send you the link from the DBD wiki, so you can see how their power works (I highly recommend you to check the wiki to have info about certain killer and how that killer works and their add-ons, so you can plan a strategy against him/her )
Let's start with the Plague.
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Plague
The plague is a killer that gets her power from survivor who purify themselves so if you don't want her to get power, don't purify yourself (the best survivors don't purify themselves). Also if you manage to loss her in a chase and you still have the infection at tier I (not broken status effect), walk, if you walk the infection won't grow. The objects remain infected for a limited time so if you see an infected gen you can a) search another gen, b) wait for the infection to be over in that gen or c) start repairing the generator anyway and get infected. Plague becomes slower when he is charging her power, so my advice is to run to closer loops (loops are places with pallets where you can run in circles around it) or places with walls/objects so as plague only can infect you if you're in front of her that at least will win your teammates and you, more tme.
Now, let's talk about Spirit
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Rin_Yamaoka
Spirit is a strong killer but her power can be used at your advantage. Generally Spirits use her power to become closer mid-chase wich is very useful (for them). When spirit is using her power (aka phasing) she only can see scratch marks (not the survivors) and with an add-on she can see blood pools as well; But basically when she is phasing she knows your position only if you run so if you start walking instead when she is phasing, spirit will be disoriented and there is a chance for you to win the chase.
I hope I was able to be helpful.

Soooo i found the solution i was being kinda doofusy but im kinda justified :/
I am playing the game with italian language and i was actually using "presenza inquietante" and not 'inquietante" wich was the right perk... that was kind of confusing... i never used distressing so yeah and it isn't even specific to a killer so i just assumed they where the same thing when i looked up al the perks lol anyway thanks for the help really appreciated :D
Basically a translation problem then. I am glad you got it!
-
Perhaps his addd-ons recquires a slight nerf but overall, he is fine. All killes should be playable in their basekits and not being add-on dependant.
-
I think everyone is missunderstanding the point of the thread. Some killers are 30 meters away, so when a survivor unhooks, then the unhooked receive the BT effect. Is that fair for you? No, you didn't camp. You should not be punished for not camping, besides as the OP says, BT should work as an anti-camp perk, not punishing a killer who doesn't. Perhaps if you're being chased 5 secs then BT endurance effect is not applied, in that way we will stop those who save in front of you if you're in the middle of a chase.
-
I play both roles but I am more of a survivor. The reason? It's easier to find a match.
-
A challenge is supposed to be something where your own skill matter the most, not relying in another survivors fault, or killer's skills. Sometimes there are 1 or 2 hooks per match, that means you need to play more than 10 games to get the achievement, wich is frustrating because yes, unhooking safely it's a challenge for you, but it's not a challenge if you need to rely in the killer's skill.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Same on survivor side. You already let go of the gen or survivor but still get grabbed for some unlogical reason. Doublesided issue.
I was going to say exactly the same.
-
Well, there are not really rules. If the match is starting and spot a survivor then I chase him and hit him, but after that I let him go, it's not his fault that RNG placed him in front of me. Of course, sometimes I got angry because I let them go and get the "ez killer" comments from them.
Of course, I do realize that I am not a good killer and that I make a lot of mistakes but I try to treat another players the way I like to be treated when I am playing.
-
I don't generally use exhaustion perks but... Lithe is one of the best ones. I don't like Adrenaline since it's hard to use it when you're a solo. but it becomes OP when you're in a coordinaterd group.

Curious that devs changed dying light because it was not fun to tunnel the obsession...
-
There is a challenge where you need to unhook someone that already saved you from the hook, I completed it but that's relying that the other survivor is going to be chased, downed and not saved by flashlights. Wich is really hard unless you're on a SWF.
-
@Resurrect said:
I don't mean to detract from your thoughts OP, while every survivor should have their fair share of skill checks. Perhaps if Ruin was no longer a totem, but a timed perk. For the first 2/3/4 minutes of a game ruin affects generator skill checks.
This way a killer doesn't waste time guarding it, survivors don't waste time trying to find it . . It's a win win.
Boy am I delusional they're going to go for this one, but I digress.
I saw it already a lot of times in some other threads. What do you mean by OP?
-
@SilentSpectre said:
No, ruin is already super good.
If the survivor have skill checks wich sometimes you're screwed by the RNG, meaning the survivors get just a few skillchecks. Of course I don't think it's good because I can hit the skillchecks more or less 70% of the times.
-
Inmersed or useless? I am an inmersed survivor. I like the feeling when I rescue someone from the hook even if I am in the hook after that. I like the feeling when I receive a hit for another survivor that is being tunneled. I like the anxiety when I jump in a locker and the killer starts opening them, and I think "please don't open this locker". I like when I see teamwork and not a survivor who just loop/juke the killer for 5 gens (there are some people that think they are too great for doing that and thinks they can command another people in the pre-chat and maybe trash talking them for not doing as he "commanded"). I like the feeling of anxiety when I am in the hook and it's the endgame Will they save me? Will they leave me to die? So, a claudette with urban evasion crouching in the corners of the map is not an "inmersed survivor".

More
Feral Frenzy will no longer be a basic attack.
I cannot image how legion can fight SWF with full items such as keys and toolboxes.
Why rework add-on will be active in 2nd hit
2nd hit = Legion is stunned 4 sec. = Survival gain 150 movement speed from hit.
The main idea of FF is not multi-hit the same survivor.

Again, that's your opinion. People don't think E-sports are competitive and look how far they've gone. You can have your opinion and others can have their own. This game is definitely competitive for some people, maybe just not you.
Behaviour's didn't want this game to be turn into competitive, behaviour won't do rank rewards because it will turn the game into a competitive one. Some people may want to compete but that's not the idea, nor the game was designed to work as a competitive one.
E-sports works in this way because they are oficial but in this case no, perhaps in a future mr. money will do their trick and behaviour would turn this game into a competitive one. But this is not the time that is going to happen.
And personally, It will be nice if behaviour does an "unranked" gamestyle so this game would have a competitive mode for the ones who likes it and a casual mode for those who don't want to feel pressured.
Maybe with the perks being different between each mode.
-
It's a bit hard for me. But it gets really hard to focus when someone start gen tapping, I get nervous with the survivors standing and tapping, standing and tapping. I am like "just don't be so scared about a skillcheck".

So then if i wanna have fun and play against survivors who wont try hard and complete all the gens within 2 minutes i do wanna derank because they want to obviously win so they can become level 1 while i dont care. Thank you.
You should not ask devs for a reward. You should ask devs to punish the competitive people that makes this game not enjoyable for another people. Put red rank survivors with a level 20 killer and they will start bullying he/she. You should say "this is not the way we should play", you don't need to be forced to run X perk to counter some toxic behaviours.

Okay.. it's not competitive TO YOU.. so some people it is, and ranked rewards should have been in the game LONG ago.
Let me clarify something, the game IS NOT competitive, the core idea is not to being competitive.
You can't ask for a reward. Why? Because you thought it was competitive and tried to be the best. It's not the devs fault because they told in a lot of threads "the game is not supposed to be competitive". So, if THEY want to be competitive in a casual game it's THEIR fault, no one else is to blame here, no one asked them to do.
