  • I want to know David's Lore.

  • I have a question. Don't you guys get tired of complaining for no reason? I mean, the game obviously have their bugs. You could complain about hit boxes, bad map dessign, bad perk design, but you would rather complain about a bias that is non existent.

  • I think because he lack of map pressure, I can do very well with him but that doesn't mean he's good.

    The bottles:

Doesn't really help you mid-chase as you have a limited range to throw them, it might be helpful in a loop though. I find the bottles easier to control than huntress hatchets but huntress hatchet guarantee a hit, the bottles don't guarantee a hit.

Maps surrounded by trees are not helpful either, as if you're surrounded with trees, the bottles will likely crash into them.

Well because it is "the combo" DS is the most used survivior perk and Unbreakable is like 3rd or 4th most used, so these are often seen together. It IS one time use, but it is a FREE health state, that can completly break your momentum and there is no counter. You say that you can make them use it early game, but that means you have to be winning and controlling early game, but have to forefit this advantage almost completly because of 1-2 perks, and dont forget that there is never only 1 person with DS.

For example Ruin is also "one time use perk" because you can cleanse it, but it only slows the game down, it doesnt give the killer a free down/hook...

Due to how bigs maps are, unless you're in efect tunneling or wanting a easy kill/ hook there is no way that DS can hit you.

DS is the most used, yes, tunneling and hook farming are two of the most seen strategies as well. How often do you see a hook farmer? You know the ones that are going to save you in the killer's face, they unhook you and the killer see and take that chance wich is not bad but that my dear is called tunneling so excuse me but that survivor deserve a chance against something that he/she doesn't control (unhooking in the killer's face).

DS is in fact 60 secs, this seems like a lot of time but, due to how big maps are, 60 secs are nothing, literally.

What's the big deal after all? That you need to plan a strategy and not trying to get easy kills? The same goes with BT, "they unhook in front of my face, I hit them but oh, surprise they have BT" .

Don't missunderstand me, I know there are several map issues that need to be worked on, but you can't go like a zombie in a 5 mins chase then complain that you have been "gen rushed".. I mean, obviously you can do it but you need to know whether is good to chase a survivor or to let it go.

Unbreakable + Decisive Strike = Free, uncounterable immunity for 60 seconds

Why people keep saying this like it's "the combo"? It looks like no one plays as a survivor os something like that.

Both perks are only a single use, they get up up with unbreakable then hit them again and then bye bye unbreakable, pick the survivor with DS and bye bye DS. Easy.

    #survsbad

Jokes aside I tend to agree with this. It seems the Devs favor survivors fun far more often then Killers anymore. They don't even try to hide it anymore unfortunately.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1008175#Comment_1008175

I mean it's not like it helped them or anything significant. Not like it helped get people off gens or made Map RNG more bearable. Nor did it make weaker killers more viable.

I guess people don't want variety they want the same 2 killers every game for most of them.

NO! Ruin was a bandaid for many killer problems. Don't you agree? How can you buff something if you don't know what exactly the problem is? Besides the devs wants 2 kills and 2 escape so yes, for them it is overperforming having 3 kills constantly, yet people used ruin...

DbD comunnity "we use ruin because killers are so weak"

BHVR: Having 3K's almost every match is not the definition of weak precisely.

So, at the moment ruin won't be a bandaid, then killers will have 1 kills or 2 at most then BHVR will say "1 K every match? Well it's underperforming"

So yes, the change might not be fun because you will have 1k constantly but right now BHVR will see if : Killers are underperforming and need buffs or killer players were reliant too much in an hex to do their work and the killers doesn't need buffs?

  • Yes, now that ruin baindaid is gone, they will start addresing and fixing real killer problems.

Think about it, if you change i.e. gen repair speed for being "fair" for killers then those who use ruin will make it extremelly bored to play with. I know ruin was (is) a bandaid for the gen speed time, but changing gen repair speed won't make less killer use ruin, some (most) killers won't think "Ok, now that the repair gen speed is fine I can stop being ruin dependant" but "ok, now gen repair speed is increased, and with ruin I will have much more time" and that will make survivors get bored because matches will be insanely long, specially adding thanatophobia or dying light.

  • Try depredator, the scratch marks are really close to the survivors.

Why would I listen to someone with no facts and is trying to tell me I'm wrong when it clearly says it on screen?? Next ull tell me sky is green cause it was in a streamer video πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You must be new, the devs have stated a lot of times that "body blocking" means a killer that stands in the basement stairs blocking with their body the access. If the "body blocking" you mean were a offense. Why there are achievements about it? Wouldn't be a contradiction?

Can someone please explain ghost face to me? I swear when I play as ghost face a survivor breaks me out of stalk just by being on the map. When I play against ghost face I can't break him out of stalk to save my life. What am I not getting here?

It's not easy, and I don't know if it's bugged but I'ld recommend you that if you're standing that you crouch, it might buy you some time. And for revealing ghostface... he needs to be at the middle-center of the screen in order to reveal him.

  • @goat10em I am not a pro but... those are good perks for Wraith

Barbeque & Chilli (bloodpoints, and if you can use the aura reading part it will save you a lot of time)

A nurse's calling (Survivors that are used to heal as soon as possible will become your new favourite, they relly too much in terror radius and when they spot you're going there, it will be too late for them)

Surveillance (This will help you to know which generators are being worked, since old maps have a poor design) If you have not Surveillalnce, there is an ultra rare add-on for Wraith called All seeing.

Also, I highly recommend the following add-ons:

    Windstorm & Swift Hunt.

Speaking from my own experience, I see DS on usually at least 2 survivors, but 3 survivors is not too infrequent and neither is all 4.

Don't forget that while old DS was annoying to counter, it did have actual counterplay. Juggling worked, non-obsessions had to wiggle, the skill check was very tiny and killers could swing the weapon to make survivors whiff their timing, unnerving presence made the skill check even more difficult to hit, and y'know, Enduring actually worked to soft counter the perk. You also were not required to slug to avoid the perk, which most killers don't actually like slugging.

None of that applies anymore. All 4 survivors can run DS at full power regardless of if they're the obsession or not, and that's incredibly scary in a game where generators can be done in 4~5 minutes and each survivor has up to a collective of 2 minutes each where they are invulnerable from being picked up or it's countered with them being able to immediately stun you and get off of your shoulder regardless of if you were intentionally trying to tunnel them or not.

There was super old OG DS of course, but y'know, that was so powerful that nobody could find a game as survivor because killers literally stopped playing because of it.

Generators get done in 4-5 minutes? That's not looking good for you as a killer. Personally I saw sometimes 2 DS users and you know? I don't care, I don't tunnel, let's say the "a whole inmunity minute" is a true fact as many claims. There are 3 survivors more, if you, knowing that fact, still refuse to leave that single DS survivor, then you deserve that DS hit. Personally I found myself that due to the map size, a minute is easier to avoid if you're not tunneling.

As a killer you need to know when it's good to "loss a chase", think about the killer's shack, it's a well known infinite, a survivor is there and you spend 5 mins only to give him a hit and 2 or 3 gens pop up at that time. Would be rasonable for you to come here complaining about gen speed? I understand, the map design is bad at the moment but that's not the point. If you refuse to leave that single survivor who just run into that infinite then it's your fault if every generator gets done, the survivor didn't force you to stay there, you decided it.

  • It seems I expresed myself poorly. My apologies for that. Every human being is competitive by nature, but the main purpose of a game is having fun, obviously we can do both but some poeple get too sweaty about being competitive when the nature of the game is not. So,Why complaining about not having enough "strong" perks? "Because If some perks are nerfed I need to sweat if I want a 4K". But. Weren't you the only who decided to inmerse in a competitive playstyle in the first place? Meaning you wanted to sweat in the first place (personal fullfilment), the game core or the game design wasn't that so Why blaming or, worse then, talking bad to another people who doesn't share your point of view?

I simply mean this. if you want for a personal fullfilment, 4K's in every game then it's ok, but don't blame BHVR about something you wanted to achieve and no one forced you to achieve.

  • It would kill the purpose of oblivious. Oblivious is made so the survivors won't know if you're closer to them. If someone can know by a perk that the killer is closer. What's the main purpose of oblivious then?

Dead Hard is not just a second chance. It works all the time if Survivors are expirienced,

NOED is basically a punishment for gen rushing,

"NOED is basically a punishment for gen rushing", so basically you're saying that survivors doing their objetive should be punished?

Also, NOED is a punishment for not cleaning totems.

  • It's a nice thought but... I have australian friends and the australian government won't do anything (there are a lot of fires so they are a bit used to it) so... even if such a thing (charity case) exist. How would they develop the money to Australia's forests?

  • I completed it, but my brother and me play the game so, we were two people. I think it was a bit grindy for casual players. Some average players stuggled it as well but I think most of the players I meet were able to complete or stay between 50-69, I think they should reduce a bit, the grind. I mean, I had enough free time to complete the challenges but the average player doesn't have that free time due to work or stuff.

thats why i think bugs shouldnt be punished unless exploited more than once. but tbf, if he knew he had a speed exploit, he should have let me kill him instead of running around in circles for 5 minutes. thats just dumb.

also, i gotta admit, that once i got stuck on a tree as a survivor, and when the killer saw me, he hit me, picked me up, and then allowed me to wiggle for free. so it was really nice of him

Yes, but not every killer is nice. And the same goes for survivors.

  • @DawnMad said:

Even if it was a bug, abusing it for unfair advantage is bannable. In a situation like that, your best bet is to record it and gather proof on his steam profile to report him.

There are hackers in every game and speaking from experience DbD is very good at preventing hacks, so it may actually have been a bug but then again, that also is an offence.

And what are you supposed to do? Let the killer hook you for free? Don't missunderstand me, I understand your point but we all try to win, if a killer abuses that I was locked in a position without moving. Wouldn't that be bannable as well?

  • @Tarvesh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/118503/why-the-ruin-change-is-good

Except that you're forgetting that BHVR wants solo survivors to be as strong as a full SWF team, or as close to that as possible. So they will in no way bring down survivor effectiveness regardless of what the data tells them.

BHVR wants to close the gap between solos and swf not making them stronger, they want solos to have more info. Kindred as an example was buffed at the point that if you run it then you'll notice if the killer is camping if you're not the hooked one. That info doesn't really makes them stronger and it's the same info that a SWF would have anyway.

  • Well, it's true that ruin was a bandaid but BHVR won't buff a killer if they see a 70% killer rate. Now without ruin they will see that they have 40% killer rate or minus, wich is a good way to buff killers. The same happens with Leatherface. He is not a good killer but as a lot of players uses to camp with him, then probably his killer rate is 65% more or less, BHVR wants a 50% or closer to it. So, looking at the stats. A killer with a 65% killer rate Does need buffs? Buff means making killers stronger or more killer rate wich is the opposite of what they want to do wich is a balanced killer rate (50%).

Let's talk about Nurse, she's unfun to play at, that's why not a lot of players pick her, but as not much players pick her, there are no reliable data if she's underperforming/overperforming or just unfun to play with (because that's another thing, a lot of people think fun = kill rate, and they complain based on how many survivors they can kill).

  • It will be funny to see him on a match. Perhaps I will pick him only for his costume.

I'll tell you, since I'd want to know in your position. In short, there are various outfits and charms themed around Doctor, Spirit, David and Jane. Each of them has one new outfit. The charms in this Rift are better than the last one, in my opinion - there are a few Christmas ones as well. There are also outfits for a few other characters. Most are recolours, but highlights include the community-designed Feng and Clown outfits and a pretty sick Hag outfit in my opinion, recolour though it may be. There are also a few Lunar New Year themed cosmetics and charms scattered throughout.

Thank you so much! I can't wait to see those.

  • By the way, thanks for the provided help when I had the issue with auric cells. In the end I purchased RDR2 and requested a refund to my steam wallet.

No, it's definitely some mixup on BHVR's end. I even restarted Steam to make sure, and I've checked it several times since then.

I restarted Steam as well and nothing. I had a problem with Steam so I can't know for sure if the new rift is on the PTB.

  • @Fibijean said:

Yeah, I made a thread about the same thing about an hour ago. The weird part is, it hasn't actually been 70 days - like according to the 70 day thing, it should have closed on the 8th - but the official Twitter has been saying for the last two days that it's supposed to end on the 7th (and is now claiming that it has already closed).

    @Accullla said:

Others have reported the same, so it's not just you. I'm guessing either the update hasn't gone through, or the announcement should have gone out tomorrow.

I haven't played today, so I can't confirm from personal experience

I am glad to hear I am not the only, I was concerned that the rift might had an issue with my savedata or something.

  • Some players think it's a good idea to report players because they are 10 ranks below them, like they cheated but it is because the matchmaking is broken at the moment.

  • Funny you say that. I think the ruin nerf is awful. I just don't get the victimist act "oh, we killers are supposed to...", cut it out. Seriously.

  • @Quiet_Observer said:

Leigon, Nurse, Spirit, Trapper, Clown, Doctor, Oni, Leatherface,Pig, and Wraith would like to have a word with you

You want to talk about every survivor perk that was nerfed? Everything is for balance's sake.

  • "This seems really wrong how killers power/perks always get changed [...] but nothing gets done to acommodate killers"

Insta heals, Balance Landing and Mettle of Man are wanting to talk with you.

  • I was going to open a thread asking that question. Thanks! I love you @Peanits 😘😜

  • I think the perk encourages behaviours like t-bagging. Don't missunderstand me, the idea might be good but with how toxic the community is... it would be used to annoy a lot of killers.

  • I end being killed so many games because of it, A teammate save me, then the killer start chasing us, they take a hit and keep "fooling" (trying to) instead of opening the exit gate, then the killer hit the unhooker and after I open the exit gate, the killer hit me We both end in the hook.

  • Well, it would be cool when a killer wants you to die due EGC, I mean come on, we know that I already loss so... let me admit being defeated and move on.

  • I think Spirit is the strongest at the moment, perhaps nurse is still strong but it's trully annoying to play as. I played yesterday with the two cooldown add-ons so it was like she was on PTB (not exactly the same as the cooldown is 4,1 secs)... and you know what? It feels better, I don't know why the devs thought it was a good idea to change the cooldown from 4 secs to 6 secs. Anyway, I think what the devs should have changed is making the fatigue a bit longer, not changing the cooldown.

  • I don't use it frequently but It's good when I equip a medkit and botany knowledge. That combo is better than self-care and botany knowledge.

  • It's not a bad design but it's not a useful one, if you were able to have a challenge for survivor and one for killer then it will be useful if you have more than one challenge, but at the moment it's just a time waster.

  • Why do I have the feeling that I saw the same thread before? It's like a deja vu. I am not going to say git gud or something like that but you probably had a few bad matches, it happens to everyone. I agree that the game have a bad RNG in some matches though. And specially a bad map design.

  • Can we stop with the "you vs us" biased topics?

Prove thyself is not even that great, it's just a 10 %

Resilience It's a 3/6/9% if they are injured ONLY.

You're acting like it's a "god combo" when it's not.

Also @MegHasCuteFeet it wasn't delaying the gen speed for 10 seconds, as the devs stated, it could be combined with thanatophobia and dying light making it stronger. And if we talk about survivors we need to think that there are more than SWF, we need to think about solos as well. It's bored to be in a M1 generator for almost two mins when your team mates are inmersive Claudettes with urban evasion.

At base, she is not faster than a running survivor. She moves at 98.25% I believe, and survivors run at 100%.

    She moves at 95%

  • Well I got the achievement in a few games but I agree that DC survivor should count as death on a hook or by mori. Perhaps 3 instead of 4, it still will be hard but at least you have a way to prevent the last survivor DC.

  • I understand, I am a polite man as well. But seriously , some people need to chill down, every opinion that they don't like, they say "he/she is attacking me" when it's not. People usually pick the side of the "victim" wich is not really bad but they should hear both sides.

  • @DeadByCamper said:

Please read the whole post before taking the issue out of the context and making yourself look toxic. I'm not against farming bloodpoints, I don't judge. Like I said, when 3 survivors are working with the killer (griefing) by bringing the killer to me, body blocking me to get me killed, and armpit tickling (rescue attempt clicks), that's something your helpful tip on downloading a skill check simulator won't do any good.

I understand how bad it feels when you're being farmed but... that's how the game is I suppose. By the way, Did you insult anyone? No, then. Why are you apologizing for? The society now is a bit touchy but you shouldn't apologize if you did anything wrong.

  • Bad Map Design as a killer, specially infinites, and the 2 windows are a pain as well, specially if they t-bag you. I don't mind survivors gen rushing in 5 mins or less but I mean. Is it necessary to laugh at me when you're abusing an infinite?
