For sabo to really be effective on most maps it will need two people doing it as it now has a cooldown.

Keep in mind it will be most useful in a coordinated SWF. This means three people not on gens as they will have to be in position to make it happen effectively as hooks can be relatively close by. We also have perks such as agitation and iron grasp to help counter it along with mad grit which means the person struggling has another 8 seconds of doing it if you hit the saboteur twice.

What the change does do is give these survivors something else to do other than just gens. It encourages a risk v reward idea and at worst it should allow killers to injure more along with downing the saboteur. You can swap the one on your shoulder leaving them slugged while you pick up the other.

This means there will be three people off gens as even if the slug has unbreakable another one will more than likely be going for the save.

This won't bring back the old sabo imo and as we know the term gen rushing came about after sabo was originally nerfe.

Excuse me but running perks just to counter something, it's a bad idea. Specially if you need two perks slots. I do like to sabo hooks but it's way too fast for the killer, and I that play mainly as a survivor see the real issue here. And yes, 3 survs don't do gens but having two or one person sabo'ing at your face is not what I consider fun, for a killer.

Are these walls always breakable or do I need to charge up something to do so? Is it on a cooldown? Is it bound to a perk or is it baseline?

The feature sounds great but it seems silly being able to just decide to randomly walk around the map and break walls. I feel like there should be a benefit to doing it at the right time.

Hoping this feature is a baseline mechanic because this is something I've been wanting in the game for a bit. Something else for the killer to interact with on the map without the need for a perk or specific killer. Looking forward to this new feature.

The breakable walls will be always breakable, it will work like a dropped pallet, it's baseline since all killers will be able to do it, and for now, it will just work in the new map.

The main idea is to make some loops weaker wich I think it's a great idea a nd it will give the killer some more map pressure if used correctly.

That scenario is more common than you would think. Normally the first two gens get done fairly easily and before the first survivor is hooked. After that the killer has some pressure with hooks and it becomes a little bit more difficult do gens.

Once one survivor is killed, the killer can stabilize and it's these scenarios where the key leaves a bad taste. The killer starts from behind and plays catch up and but that catch up is meaningless if a key is present.

Id probably change keys so that it only allows the person that has the key to escape and disables the hatch for the rest of the game unless another key is present. This way using the key would be seen as selfish and potentially screws over the other survivors. Survivors would have to think about using the hatch as it would no longer be an option in end game.

That's not possible, as you might be aware there is an achievement that everybody should escape via the hath.

And I don't mean the hatch appearing but both survivors escaping via the hatch, unless they are a SWF I find it most unlikely. Yes, the gens are done fast so the hatch appears but a survivor escaping via the hatch nowadays it's rare. I played a lot lately as killer and survivor and I found that the killer found it faster, of course, sometimes they wanted to close the hatch in front of me so I escaped because they tried to "make fun of me".

  • @ermsy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098077#Comment_1098077

I get where you are coming from but in a scenario where there are two gens left with two survivors left, the killer should be in a very good position but if a key is in place then it's already gg at this point.

This is usually the scenario that leaves a bad taste. If one gen is left and 3 survivors escape, that isn't so bad as the survivors were going to escape anyway.

Well, I understand your point. I had a match like that a few months ago, I didn't care that they won, but about the fact that they were waiting for me.

In this case scenario yes, it gives you a bad taste but honestly, it's harder than it seems. Unless they are a SWF team. Don't missunderstand me, there should be a "special rule" that helps to prevent it. Like "the hatch gets closed after being used if there are less than five gens powered"

  • I don't really understand why people likes to put Mori's and key's at the same level, yes both allows you to complete the match but saying "both allows to complete the game faster" and put them in the same level is ignoring "how" it allows

Keys. If survivors completed most of their objetive then they can escape, meaning only works if they worked on his objetive. So "keys rewarding bad plays" can only be used in the scenario where a survivor in the EGC finds a key in a chest (I think it should be changed) because completing 4 of 5 gens, that is almost complete their objetive. And yes, it bothers but you as a killer are not entitled to win a 4K

Mori's on the other hand can be used since the start of the match, except for Cypress Mori, and allows you to remove a player at the early game, wich is a huge disadvantage for survivors.

  • Well, I want it to be an original one. And... if I recall correctly, all licensed killers has a trailer who shows it, not some sort of teaser and original ones has a teaser first.

  • Well, I like Pig but I use almost every killer. So... I main Pig but I don't use only her as a killer.

  • Noed is fine but I do agree that rewards failure.

But you're wrong about survivor perks rewarding failure.

Hope... it rewards you for completing the objetive

Deliverance... it rewards you for performing a safe hook rescue

Balance Landing... it might be uhmmm How do I say it? Unrealistic but. How is that falling from a hill it's a failure? Hmm?

And every other perk you mention How do them reward failure?

You're mixing unrealistic with rewarding failure.

  • Honestly I would like if the killer could grab the pallet with the chain and slam it in the survivors head, I think it would be hillarious.

If they got rid of the cool-down I would just play her add-on less, that's what made her the most fun killer in the first place, I have been playing her without addons now and I have to say it's an utterly miserable experience. I don't even care if the addons were are trash, I just want to enjoy playing her again I didn't even use addons in the first place.

Yes, I understand but think that if addonless is fine, then with add-on it becomes broken. That's why she has a cooldown now in the first place. And nerfing the add-ons so it will become trash then you will ask. Why wasting bloodpoints on her?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088705#Comment_1088705

You are saying that this once "god" nurse main is bad at playing nurse, when before the nerf they absolutely destroyed almost every team? Also out of all the addons nurse has now only the ones that extend the range of blinks and reduce the cool-downs + fatigue are decent the rest are trash.

I am not saying that he is bad with nurse (re-read the second paragraph please), I am saying that old "god" nurses have issues with the cooldown, and they use both cooldown add-ons trying to get old nurse back, meaning they want to stick with some kind of old nurse add-onless with a cooldown. And they won't have old nurse back.

So they need to be a bit less dependant on cooldown add-ons and start playing with another ones. Like, as you said the ones who increase blink range. Before the nurse's rework, you could use her addonless, now you need add-ons with her. You can't have old nurse back even with the cooldown addons.

It's not really a defense, it's the reason why. Non-humanoid killers would require completely different animations, since they would be rigged differently. To use Chucky, as an example, he would need a new set of animations because he's so small. Any time you hooked a survivor, he would either grow to be 7+ feet tall or stay small and hit the sickest three pointer you've ever seen.

Could you at least tell us if the new chapter will have a survivor + killer or just a survivor/killer ? Or at least tell us if it's original or licensed...

    Pretty please 😘

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088532#Comment_1088532

    Let me turn that around.

Why should Survivors be entitled to an escape? If Killers shouldn't expect to earn a 4 kill game, then Survivors shouldn't expect to have 4 escapes. Stop generalizing Killers. Just look at that one game for example and ask yourself.

Did they earn those escapes? 1, maybe 2, Survivors was working gens that whole game. Everyone else was bleeding on the ground or in a chase the entire match. Those Survivors couldn't survive for beans yet they still managed to get an easy 2 escapes, almost 3.

If it had been any other Killer, it would have been a 4 escape. Trapper, Wraith, Huntress, Billy, Demogorgon, Clown, Shape, Ghostface, ANY OTHER KILLER would have NOT done as well as Nurse in that game thanks to basic looping and it would have ended in a near 100% certain 4 man escape.

Do you honestly think that is a good thing? Do you think that's fair?

No one is entitled. But as you said, the survivors did many mistakes, and the killer's fault was not to capitalize on those mistakes. I had a match as a survivor against a Clown who liked to slug... three escaped. Why? Because not hooking survivors means you're not getting them out of the game, as a killer I never slug, unless I have the feeling that a person has DS. If you think going and slugging everyone is a good idea then... no, it isn't. Four survivors are a team, meaning a single survivor mistake doesn't mean you won the game, his fault was thinking that he already won because he slugged.

  • Actually. Whether I think the 3.5 secs of cooldown is a bit of a punishment. I think people who are relying only in the cooldown add-ons will never learn to play "new nurse".

He is good because he knows how to blink wich is, the best you can do with nurse and the hardest thing to learn, but having only the cooldown add-ons mean he think the 3,5 secs are a long time to wait. I do that as well but try to take advantage to another add-ons as well. My brother just played a match against a red rank SWF and he did 3K, the fourth just escaped because she had a key. My brother is better blinking that me (a lot better) so he used a cooldown add-on and one of the omega-blink add-ons.

I am not talking about the playstyle because another users did. What I mean is... there are some cool add-ons and I know the cooldown for old nurses is one of the worst and unfun thing that devs could do to her but you need to learn to play with it.

  • Clown receiving a nerf? Can you explain what are you talking about?

  • Actually there is no "fix" needed. Just a way to make killer more playable. Like enabling mouse and keyboard, in wich case a lot of people would play killer. Since, I at least think so, it's more dinamic.

I dont think its a dangerous philosopy in a game to want each person to have a pleasant experience and try to cut down on those who make it less so. In other aspects of life yes but in games? this is why most online games out there have a system like this in place.

As for the DC penalties another user posted the results @PeenutsButt3r thank you for this info.

    First time: 5 mintues

    2nd time: 5 minutes

    3rd: 15 minutes

    4th: 15 minutes

    5th: 30 minutes

    6th: 30 minutes

    7th: 60 minutes

They arent overly bad and while we dont know the time to reset them they are quite user firendly for DC's due to outside circumstances.

I thought it was awful like the previous test but those numbers are reasonable.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1083820#Comment_1083820

To be fair yes it is your time and you do have the right to use it how you wish but why should others be left at a disadvantage due to yourself having issues out with thr game? I think that is the bottom line as it can seem like a very selfish attitude when you only consider your own wants.

Issues with power or service providers is why the first time outs are more lenient to start with as it give a you time for it to be sorted out.

Things out with your control are always looked into with such a system but if you have to leave a lot of games due to these circumstances happening a lot then I'm sorry but you have to think if you should really be playing an online game as going back to my first point its putting what you want over and above the other players experiences in these matches making it less enjoyable for them.

You can always choose what to do with your own time but that shouldn't be at the detriment of other players.

I don't DC and my apologies if that sounded rude.

And... about the fact of online games... don't missunderstand me, it's an horrible game experience that there are a lot of DC's. Just yesterday two people DC'ed and I thought the killer would be at least a bit mercifull but no. Anyway, It's a game and being that interesed to win might be good if you're playing in a tournament. Don't missunderstand me, I like the DC penalties and think it's necesary, but there are part of me who doesn't and not because I DC, but because I understand that there are people who has a lot of issues. Without talking about bugs and stuff that are out of your control as well.

Again... don't missunderstand me, I know there are a lot of DC and there need to be some sort of punishment.

And... thinking that a person should stop doing something because everyone else doesn't like or might have a difficult time... it's a dangerous philosophy.

  • I never made a top rank list but.. even if I play a lot I won't call it a top rank. Now with the rift I am trying to complete it for my brother because he have not time to do it. I do enjoy the lore a lot though.

I highly doubt the Devs actually addressed the issue of toolboxes. If they did then they brushed it aside quickly after without any hint as to what they plan on doing. If anything, toolboxes will get a buff. Let's make a logical prediction (based on the Devs' recent actions and words):

Hello Fog Dwellers. As of late, toolboxes have had a controversial viewpoint, so we've decided to make necessary buffs changes in order to make toolboxes more balanced so that both sides are always having fun. Currently toolboxes are underwhelming and underperforming. For survivors, toolboxes simply don't help enough with increasing the repair speeds, as killers are able to apply too much pressure for the toolbox to even be used. For killers, toolboxes simply do not provide enough challenge/counter play. As previously stated, toolboxes are underwhelming and often make little to no difference as to the chances of the killer winning. So we've decided to make some changes that will make toolboxes more useful for survivors, and provide a more fun and challenging experience for killers.

Each toolbox will now receive a 15% speed buff and have a built in 20% repair efficiency. The efficiency add-on will now be replaced with an add-on that grants more bloodpoints for repairing generators with toolboxes. Socket Swivels will now receive a 5% speed buff. The Engineer's and Mechanic's Toolbox will now have 180 charges at base level. There will be two new add-ons. One will grant 100 charges. The other will have the following effects:

    • Great skill check zones will be increased by 80%
    • Failed skill checks will no longer alert the killer
    • Allows the duplication of the Brand New Part once per trial

    Happy Trials Fog Dwellers!

    Where did you find that?

  • @Ghoste said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1083704#Comment_1083704

True but those games are in the minority. Most Killers will hook you for the points unless they actually can't find you. It sucks, but I just grab a snack or hit the bathroom while I bleed out.

Some killers just want you to be killed by EGC, even if it means they should wait 5 mins. I do agree that I can do another thing in the meanwhile but still it's not enjoyable for survivors.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1083222#Comment_1083222

    This 100%.

If you know you have an dr apt or have little time to play then why load up the game if it means you may have to leave suddenly?

Before playing always make sure you have the time to finish the game as using the leave option is for scenarios that arise without prior warning which should be few and far between.

Don't missunderstand me. What I am going to say might sounds a bit rude. I don't DC often but...

Why load up the game? Because it's a game... I won't be an hour playing if I have something to do but perhaps 20 mins. It's my time and I use it however I want. Why should I explain myself to you?

As a person who lives in a dangerous neighbourhood, sometimes I hear stranges noises (quite a lot) and yes, I need to close the game if I am supposed to be alert if something happens. I can't be playing a game if let's say there is someone who is trying to break into my home, or to robber a neighbour in the street. Talking about power cuts. I had two last week and one three weeks ago.

Some people has children. Accidents happens and you can't prevent it.

It's not odd that today a power loss happens and in two weeks my mother has an accident in the bathroom. Right? I am being fatalist, I know but I am just telling that accidents do happens against your will and sometimes quite frequently.

I don't know how much time will be until the penalties resets, but I hope it's a short one. And yes, the first penalties will be 5 mins or so but until the system resets, the penalties will increase by time to time. Of course, I can play something else in the meanwhile but that's not the point I am trying to make.

  • Well... I don't DC but it's not enjoyable when a killer leaves me in the ground. I mean, yes in four minutes I will be dead but I want to move on to another match.

  • @ignoredprayers said:

Totally agree, and I'm actually having fun and getting good laughs from the post game salt when Survivors aren't having any fun based on what I'm doing. Thank the devs, don't blame me for the awful game experience you waited an hour for.

"Thanks the devs". I wonder if the devs told you that you should hard camp...

No? They didn't told you to hard camp? Then Why should I blame the devs about it?

Matchmaking is broken and they're going to "fix it", hiding it. (you don't need to fix matchmaking if you don't see who you are matched with)

But... I am not to blame for the matchmaking state. Am I? You're being childish "you will pay because I am angry and if you're angry then don't blame me, I am a victim as well. It's the devs fault"

    1. Infinites don’t exist. 2. Not everyone is a BLENDETTE blending/ hiding into the corn. 3. “Rotten fields have the least amount of totem spawn.” It’s still randomly generated in different spots regardless if its the same map. 4. Majority of killer are using NOED because they are still crying over their ruin nerf lol.

Oh my bad, I guess I should’ve been more direct.

I’m sorry you suck at the game that you think camping and tunneling every single game is ok, fun, not an issue with ruining one survivor gaming experience.

SORRY YOU RESTRICTED YOUR DEVELOPMENT IN THIS GAME AS A KILLER BY TELLING SURVIVORS TO JUST GIT GUD INSTEAD OF ADMIT YOUR MISTAKES AS A KILLER AS WELL.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1080297#Comment_1080297

    The Killlers fun matters too.

You should encourage players to get better to some extent. Not spoon feed them. Spoon feeding leads to entitlement, and entitlement leads to toxic communitys - which is actually the current problem with the game.

    I never said "killer's fun doesn't matter".

Learning and get better has a lot to do with camping/tunneling. Whether patrolling the hooked survivor area is not camping and it's a good strategy, facecamping bubba it's not a good strategy or at least not a fun one. And excuse me, but there are a lot of campers who are entitled as well. Don't missunderstand me, if it's the toxic one that have been bothering you I think it's fair. But being in a hook simulator for 2 mins straight is not fun, and facecamping for 2 mins straight is not fun either.

  • Actually... no. Because when you're camping even if everyone manages to survive and "the killer don't pip" there is a single survivor who had an awful experience. And BT/DS shouldn't exist as a bandaid for killer's behaviour.

Safe loop him and leave? It will be a good strategy in red ranks where everyone focus on gens to leave or SWF when you know what your teammates are doing , but not for solos in green/ yellow ranks where the match can last 20 mins or more because no one is touching gens.

  • Actually the game is not survivor sided but it's bad designed.

I understand your frustration but let me point some "exploits" (if we can call it like it) that survivors take advantage of and the killer's struggle with, taking advantage of such exploits doesn't mean the game favours survivors, because it's not intended to work in that way.

Bad Map design is the best of the examples

Maps are designed for specific killers, those are the ones being released. Let's suppose Sanctum of Wraith, the map was released with Oni as a killer. The map is insanely big so you need a good amount of speed in order to travel fast. Oni has the Demon Dash that allows him to travel fast. We can say that Spirit and Hillbily are good with that map as well because they can travel fast as well, but the map was originally tested with Oni and made for Oni.

    Bad Map Tiles

Some tiles are awful. On Wretched Shop, the shop has 4 exits. Two windows and two doors. You have a pallet (not really safe) closer to the smaller door, and one closer to the right window (very safe), so if someone knows what he is doing, you will loss tons of time trying to catch that survivor. And don't let me start talking about infinites

The double window is another barrier that killers struggle with as unless you use a specific perk and pray that it helps, you won't be able to catch up.

    Bad Tile Spawn

Some tiles has a safe pallet and spawns next to another tile with another safe pallet. Wich creates a "double barrier" that helps survivors.

Now, some things that make killers suffer as well

    Bad bandaid perks

Perks like "Bamboozle" are bandaid for those bad designs. In theory, Bamboozle idea was to help you. Now. Why it doesn't really help? Because as I said, some tiles spawn next to another safe tiles, so if a survivor finds a window blocked, and as the killer has a slower vault speed than survivors, those survivors can move into another safe loop until the block is removed.

How can we make Bamboozle helpful? Well, making that the vault speed faster, like 25% and that the last window you vault remains blocked.

Imagine it, even combined with Fire up tier III and 5 tokens it will make the vaulting speed slighty faster than a fast fault, and we need to think about this, Until the end game it won't have that power.

    SWF

Now, this is a touchy subject to talk about, while no one can penalize for playing with friends, it's true that playing with friends has a lot of advantage over random survivors. And... the game is not designed about SWF either.

  • It's cool to use it with Thrill of the Hunt as you receive a notification when someone it's working on a hex totem and... the speed is slowed down with each dull and hex totem on the map, making it a better to protect the totem or at least if you're far away, to know when the totem will go off.

Dwight for survivor. The poor man was tortured by everyone around him, and pretty much left for dead in a forest because his co-workers thought it was funny.

Spirit for killer. Her backstory is one of the most emotional ones, and everytime I see her standing doing her lobby animations, you see for a few seconds the sadness on her face, like she knows that what shes doing isn't right, but can't control herself anymore. Gets me everytime.

Thought I was the only who felt bad fo about her.

  • As for survivor, well, even if they don't deserve to be in the Entity's world...

I would go for Dwight . Dwight was bullied into oblivion, wich made him loss his self esteem and in his work it wasn't better for him, but his perks shows that he has talent, he only needs some self-worth and trust in himself and he will be even better that those who bullied him.

For killers... Spirit, Wraith, Legion or Plague

Spirit had an awful death so she deserves to rest in peace.

Wraith, well. I think he did justice killing Azarov, I mean the man was a killer and Philip won't have killed him otherwise.

Legion, they are a bunch of teenagers who liked to steal and stuff, they didn't intend to start killing and, I am sure the pressure would crack Sussie and she will confess.

Then why is it you can bring a toolbox, finish a gen in 20 seconds and still pip like normal?

First, it's impossible to finish a gen in 20 seconds.

Second, even if you finish all generators and escape that won't assure you a pip, even in yellow ranks that's impossible. You need to be chased and escape if possible, also help your teammates.

  • I don't think changing the maxim amount from 32.000 to 40.000 would change the grind so much and it would be nice.
