Do you know that the game discourages tunneling or camping? Yet, you do? You already are discouraged by having less points per mori... Don't expect to pip if you tunnel or camp.
-
Personally I think a small rotation while using the Shred would be quite nice to his power, in a small map like Hawkins his shred is useful but in open maps it sucks so. I mean not like he can turn, would be like oni or hillbilly. Also, if his power would be a bit faster to charge, it would be cool.
-
Why people usually bully the one who is not being toxic? I mean there are a lot of t-baggers who are great looping, but no, let's go into toxic mode with that one who doesn't know anything about the game. That one who is just trying to have fun. Honestly, I hate people like you. I play as killer against red ranks and yes, they get sweaty but it's not the fault of the one player who doesn't know how to play. They shouldn't be punished just because you're angry.
-
Actually. Macmillan state has some maps with buildings except Shelter Woods. I won't vote because I might change my mind but I think in Coldwind Farms realm the most boring is the Rotten Field map. I mean, cornfield, cornfield, cornfield. There are those tractors and some windows but almost everything is a cornfield.

@HEEL_Punk I didn't read you comment. I'ld recommend first if you have headphones use it, and second. I think the best killer for starters is the Wraith, he has nice tracking perks.

Survivors have it so easy? It sounds like you lose a lot of survivors in chases, allowing them to get a lot done. There are perks like Ruin, Discordance, Pop Goes the Weasel, etc, etc that are geared for slowing gen progress. Not to mention the killers that slow the game down a lot, like Legion (who can often get many easy hits if you play correctly), Doctor, Pig, etc. And what about the best killers? A good Nurse, Billy, or Spirit should know how to apply pressure to more than a few gens, not to mention they can end chases quickly.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052099#Comment_1052099
Are players still complaining about the ruin change? Yes, the change was pointless, but ruin isn't worthless now. You just actually have to apply pressure to the map and force survivors off of gens. And those of you complaining that survivors stay on after getting hit? You realize there is an interrupt mechanic, right? As in, you pull them off of the gen, immediately putting them into the dying state, no matter what killer you play.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052100#Comment_1052100
The exposed status effect and a speed boost "isn't that good". How much do you know about this game, exactly?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052032#Comment_1052032
So killers don't have many game changing perks? Ah, yes, let me overlook BBQ, Ruin, Pop Goes, Discordance, the Spirit Fury + Enduring combo, nurse's calling, thrilling tremors, and Franklin's. All of those are just soooo bad.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051868#Comment_1051868
This is just ignorant. You have never played survivor if this is what you believe. A survivor who's not just out for themselves and is looking to get as many people out as once know you need to take turns distracting the killer (getting chased) as wellbas spend time on the hook to try and prevent somebody else who's closer to death on the hook.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051990#Comment_1051990
Do you go into games looking to lose? I'm not so consumed by the idea of victory that it taints my enjoyment of the game. If that was so, I'd have stopped playing DBD long ago. I am pretty upset that it's already hard enough in the end game, that a killer shouldn't be able to win easy, breezey, beautiful covergirl. After all, the amount of times the doors spawn a stone's throw away from each other is ridiculous. I'm a Killer main and it is stuependously easy when this happens. Players like you who are complacent with everything, in spite of glaring issues, are why problems do not get fixed.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051743#Comment_1051743
Ah, so laziness is what keeps me from doing bones? Thank you for understanding my mindset entirely. Its not that I don't want to walk the entire map ringing a dinner bell for whoever the entity sent after me here, only to do one of three things. Either I could successfully do all five dulls, yet be no benefit towards getting chased or doing gens. Or I could do all but 1 or 2, because they are super hard to find and I resolved that another survivor must have done them. Or, alternatively, I could do my one or two, and hope that all the other three people whom I've never met before and have no idea how they think do their bones.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052022#Comment_1052022
Refer above. But seriously, don't just use that meaningless phrase. "Get good". How can I avoid getting killed by NOED? Git gud. How can I get easy hits as a Killer? Git gud. How can I avoid breaking everything in a blind fit of rage purely because people believe that by simply using a phrase without adding any ideas on how to actually " git gud", and then move on, feeling they know much better than everybody else? Git gud.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1051954#Comment_1051954
I can't help but agree. Small game doesn't help against any other non-hex perks, making it ineffective way more than half the time.
If you read the entire thread you will know that actually not only me but a few people already told those ideas. What do you want me to say if you don't want to take it?
How can I avoid getting killed by NOED? Cleaning totems, if there are no totems then there won't be NOED.
Small game is a base game perk. Wich is not only helpful with totems but with trapper bear traps and the Hag traps so yes, it's useful. Besides totems have a general area to spawn, as an example the one in the killer's shack, If a totem is placed there, it will be inside the killer's shack or outside in one of the killer shack walls.
Anyway I think it's pointless further talking with you. You want a solution, and many users gave it, then you say "I don't want to use it". Enjoy your day.

"Get good" should be a bannable phrase with how much people spout it to derail actual conversation.
Not all of us are going to commit to memory something as arbitrary as token spawns. I'm not switching onto Small Game for several reasons, mainly that it doesn't fit into my builds, and a majority of killers don't use it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1052032#Comment_1052032
I complain about it because it is bad perk design 101. Followed by No Mither.
There are TWO perks that give you exposed with no warning: Devour Hope and NoED. One you have to work for. That is the issue.
I know it can be cleansed and prevented, but when I climb to red, solo about 50% of the time (usually only 1 other person in SWF, sometimes 2), relying on randoms and using perks to keep myself alive, also limited by Archives challenges, Small Game literally does not have room in any of my perk builds.
What do you want me to say? Yes, you're right? You don't want to run small game, you don't want to clean totems. You don't want to learn totem spawn location, then It's your faul for not wanting to learn how to counter NOED and want to nerf it because you don't want to modify your gameplay instead. We are not talking at old 5 blink nurse who barely had a counter, we are talking about something you CAN AVOID and you CAN PREVENT from the very beggining, since you spawn in the game, you can search and destroy all five totems, with small game is faster than you think.

Again, it's a small notice in a direction, and not one I have room for between making sure I don't get tunnelled out of the game.
There are WAY more problems with NoED than "Just do bones". It requires you to do NOTHING in order to get its effect, there is no warning until the first hit, and a literal speed boost that lasts far longer than any Survivor speed bonuses.
So, yeah. I'll run Small Game and get tunnelled against a killer not running one perk for 9/10 games.
I never said this to anybody but... "get good". Are you wanting the killer helps you to finish generators as well? Run small game, learn totem spawn location then you won't need to use small game anymore or when there is a gen left head to the door so when the gen is finished, you open the exit gate and then you won't get a problem with NOED.
-
BT is fine, if the survivor tanks a hit is not playing cheap, is playing smart. It's like saying 99 ing with Myers is playing cheap. It's a strategy, if you don't like it play Civilization V.
-
Clean totems. Run small game.
I don't usually equp hexes because that's a power that rely on survivors fault.

I was simply talking about the "see the survivors suffer like killers do".

I'm a survivor main and i think that the new ruin is pretty ass. I'm a red ranked survivor and the gens go bye bye in literally less than 2-3 minutes. It's unfun for both survivor and killer because the games go by so fast so we can't really do anything lol. I get why the devs nerfed it because it had a positive and negative impact on matches and it made it easier for newer players but like if we learned to combat ruin i'm pretty sure they could too. Since the ruin nerf survivor queues have been longer than before the ruin nerf and its probably because killers don't want to load into a match and then get gen rushed 2 seconds later. Please bring old Hex: Ruin: back.
If you're a main surv as you claim. Why are you complaining that gens get done in 2 mins and you need ruin to do something else? If you want to clean totems, search chest or let the killer chase you no one is stoping you. Right? But you refuse to do another thing more than generators. Even with old Ruin you will be doing generators and not much else. Ocasionally a chase or two but that shows that you in red ranks want to repair and go away, is as simple as that.

I know it’s a bad idea, I just think it would be glorious for survivors to suffer like killers do for a bit. Many survivors don’t realize how much advantage they have over a killer with their point of view.
Well, some survivors already suffer from tunneling and camping. I know, they are so called strategies, but they are not fun, nor healthy. Another games penalize camping even if you have resources to avoid it Why? Because is not fun and a game should be... fun.
Some people say "they unhook in my face without BT it was his teammate fault, not mine" (things like BT and DS shouldn't exist if camping/tunneling weren't strategies) and yes, you're right but let's put an example, I was playing Leatherface and a Nea saved a David in my face, I hook the Nea and the David, then a Bill came again and rescued that David in my face. I could say "It was their teammates fault" but How would you feel if you were that David? I let him go because I know how frustrating it is, and I don't think it's fair.
-
Giving a third person camera to the killer seems fair for some people, but is not. Survivors need to hide from the killer (stealth) wich is not possible from a third person camera and that would slowy kill the game. As I said in my previous comment we have Last Year as an example.
-
@AvisDeene said:

Many people would argue that the game needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, regardless of the camera angle.
I'd like to twist it around and make survivors experience the game from a first person view.
There are games like Last Year where the survivor is on first person. And let me tell you, it's not a good idea, a lot of people is leaving the game since day one and even if I like the idea, the game is slowy dying. If you complain about queue times, in Last Year I waited 70 mins and didn't found a match as killer. Do you know why? Because there are almost no survivors due that a one person camera gives a kiler that can kill you as soon as he finds you a huge advantage and it's not funny to be overwhelmed by another player.

No it’s not but killing yourself on hook is still selfish. Maybe they are potatoes, maybe not. Are they to blame for being relatively new to the game or is it matchmaking pairing you up with them?
This is a game, there were times where I was all the two hook stages and no one tried to save me. Being new it's not an excuse, today there is a tutorial wich is more than I had when I bought the game, and even newbie as I once was, I went for the unhooks.

You are not leaving trial of blood for the cost of being a 1 shot target all game. Seems like a fair trade to me
If I didn't want to leave blood trails then I'ld rather use lucky charm, not leaving blood trails is not that powerul (if you're talking about traking, the blood trail isn't really used to tracking) to trade for being injured all the match. And you still grunt, wich means you need at least Iron Will so you have a chance to play stealth. Because with No Mither you leave no blood trail, but the killer can hear you if you're hiding, and if you run the killer will track your scratch marks basically you need to be good at loops wich is unhealthy for the game.

@Nameless said:
Is it just me or is it extremely annoying to play with people that kill themselves on hook. Especially if they’re extremely entitled too.
One thing is killing yourself a hook, meaning as soon as the killer hooks you, you ######### and another thing is waiting a whole minute with Kindred and no one even try to save you. This game is not a hook simulator.

Of course if they showed up to not care or doing it by purpose I can understand this. But tuere are xertain situations why they can't simply reach you in time, when we play an online game we should consider other players fun as well, that's just my opinion.
OP never said DC, OP said suicide, meaning you're on the hook for a whole minute and no one came to rescue you.
------
Well, if I see that my teammates didn't even attempt to rescue me, then yes, I will move on to another match. If my teammates attempt to rescue me but had a bad timing and they end reaching me when I am at the second stage then no, at least they tried.
-
There is something I don't understand... the word "entitled". I think no one is entitled. If a survivor did 4 gens alone, avoided the killer then he is "entitled" to escape? No, same with the killer, a lot of people complains about the hatch because they think "I killed 3 people, I should have killed the 4th" when no, you're not entitled to have 4K just because you already have a 3k. That being said it would be cool to re-enable the hatch grab if a survivor has a key and the hatch has been shut.

You should probably read next time because it actually took 9 minutes for 4 gens to get done when he showed us the video clip.
Do you know that the video is not related with the first picture? In the first picture everyone escaped, and in the video everyone died.
-
Selfcare is in a good spot right now, and since the matchmaking is broken at the moment (and seems they, instead of fixing the matchmakinig want to hide the rank system and change it), you can be matched with rank 8 survivors or rank 19 survivors who doesn't know how to hit a skill check. You can run bond with those rank 19 but even injured they won't heal you so selfcare is, in those cases I can say a must. And yes, you will say "why don't bring medkits with botany knowledge then?" The thing is... every killer can equip Franklin's demise wich means you will lose your med-kit, and probably if another survivor see it, they will pick it up.
-
Well, technically a chase start as soon as you spot a survivor and ends with a) the survivor being hitted or b) the survivor breaking you LoS for 15 seconds. Meaning chasing and downing a survivor is not 1 chase but 2 chases, the first ends in the first hit and the second one with him being down.
-
Perhaps because some survivors want just to have fun? They won't think in times "ok, it recquires me less time with a medkit and I can start gen rushing", not everyone is a red rank player who plays full competitive, if a match last more than 5 mins that's ok. I like to be chased, escape, hide. Sitting on generators and escape in 5 mins is not fun for a killer nor a survivor.
-
It happended when I was a leatherface, I don't camp, was following a Nea and she performed a safe unhook to a David (without BT and David without DS) and with the chainsaw I downed them both and hooked the Nea first. There were two times that happended for the David, first a Nea and Bill did the same to that David. I let him go in the second hook because it wasn't his fault and I felt bad for him.
-
Personally the doctor has more of a counterplay now that he has no passive madness increase. Before, if you didn't want to have madness tier I you should run to a locker as soon as you heard his terror radius, now if he used his static blast he will need to wait until the cooldown ends, so you're "safe" for 60 seconds.
-
And run to the sides to avoid his shock?
-
The best one? I think it will be Pig, but recently I am learning to play as leatherface and I am doing very well with him.
-
As a survivor I didn't see many sweaty killers before ruin nerf, but now I do. Camping with Spirit even, when she is by far, the best killer in-game. Don't missunderstand me, camping is a strategy and stuff but I, as killer I never camped/ tunneled (unless survivors are trying to bother me) , never used ruin and still 4Ked against purple/red ranks.
The main point is... Why do them act so sweaty like "ruin was neccesary to not play sweaty"? Or as some say "to be a nice killer" (meaning don´t use camp/tunnel strategies), when I and other people never used such tactics and never used ruin in the first place?
Basically there are a lot of "bad killers" wich used ruin and they thought they were good and skilled when the truth is they lack of skill and they are angry because now they are refusing to see the reality, that their "skill" was not skill at all, the long the game last, the more the chances of winning a killer has, so basically those people didn't win by skill, they won because the match was long enough.

Frustrating to play killer on console? Lol.. Since Ruin Nerf, Everyone is having problem with 2-3 Gens popping up in the first minute.. Whether the Killer is playing on console or on the PC.. Remember Ruin was nerf not because it was boosting Killers but because potato survivors are having a hard time getting Great Skill Check instead of looking and destroying the Totem..
As a killer I never used Ruin and due to the broken matchmaking I have faced two or three red ranks survivors per match, and killed them. For me it's not different now.
-
In wich plattform are you in? Also, I think you should post it in "bug issues"

It's not about the ruin nerf but how frustrating is to play killer on console. I bet if they were like we have on PC, the queue times would change.

It depends on if you want the lore pieces or not, that's about it, some challenges do block the way to completing that level but they're mostly just Misc challenges that any Killer/Survivor can do.
That's what I mean, the ones that recquires a specific killer/survivor or one of those perks are "outside" means you can still complete it.

I'll change just the perk name into an item name
"The devs confirmed their bias when they nerfed insta-heals"
Don't missunderstand me, insta-heals needed a change, as MoM did, but let's suppose they are survivor biased then answer me this, please. Why would they care about killers fun? If they were survivor biased, pallet vacuum, vault vaccuum, old DS would, old BNP would still be a thing, because being biased means they don't care about the other side. So before telling me "they were broken" think about this. Who cares about a broken mechanic/ perk if the people who complain about is not the people I care about? If they were biased, when everyone was complaining about MoM that guarantee free hits, the devs would say to them "git gud" and they didn't.
-
As @FireHazard stated, they are optional, And if I recall correctly (I might be wrong), you can reach the end of the archives without restriction, the only ones who are tied are the lore ones. David is already on the base game so that's a perk that you don't need to purchase
-
I purchased all killers and survivors in-game and I think it's a good incentive. Although I think they should get a cap to wich level they can reach, meaning they won't get the teachables, they will have it on the shrine though.

Sorry. I needed to vent. But thanks. I love you all! ❤️

What you're suggesting is what the achievement used to entail. The change wasn't made directly, rather it was a side-effect of the introduction of the emblem system, which redefined what a "Merciless Victory" meant.
Pretty much everyone wants this to be changed back, including the developers themselves. There are two potential solutions - change the achievements/trophies themselves, or redefine Merciless Victories within the game itself. In the former case, Microsoft and Sony wouldn't allow the devs to do that if they tried, and in the latter, it's simply a matter of prioritising more important issues.
Actually... for what I have heard by the devs, Sony and Microsoft won't accept a change unless the achievement is imposible to achieve (I have all adepts) wich "Merciless Victory" is. I mean it's about being a silver tongue, if they say "it's not imposible but it's hard" then they will say "ok, then they can get it so there is no reason to change it" (that's how they intended to change the huntress achievement) but if they say "we changed how the system works and there is now a sidegrade effect wich was not intended, making the achievement something that the average player can't reach" they will change it. Microsoft and Sony doesn't want to change something just because it's hard, they will change it if it becomes impossible.

They did a bad rework when a killer can see you but you can't see them. The perk is made for being an exchange of info. You see me and I see you.
Basically the perk should work, when a killer is looking to your position and you the killer's position, both will see each aura.
The perk def shouldn't work with a cloaked wraith, a crouched Pig and etc. That means either you don't see them and they don't see you. Some devs defended it saying "high risk, high reward", but that's not even high risk, it means the perk (as the devs stated in the stream) turn at you. It's like saying if someone clean a totem then the killer is punished. Why they should be punishsed? That's not the meaning of "high risk, high reward". If a survivor see the killer's aura, in exchange that survivor is exposed, meaning the killer can read the survivor's aura. That's how the perk should work and it's "high risk, high reward". I am sorry for those who are trying to get "Adept Laurie".
-
The game is not biased at all. The hatch doesn't exist to give survivors a "reward", the existence of the hatch is to prevent game hostage situation where the game could go on for +40 mins. If you're a year or more older where 2 gens were a request so the hatch could spawn.
Maps are not survivor's sided or killer's sided, it's called bad design, they're not pointing to a bias, because it's even stupid to think about it. Badham's and Lery's reworks are proof of it. And they're reworking old maps as well so... stop saying it's biased. BHVR can't do a map in a day, those things recquire time.
The devs points to balance, and take actions toward what they think it will be the best choice.

Wait... I think I am missunderstanding something so clarify it to me. There were gens left? That means the hatch was open by that time and you lost the match fairly, the hatch was open and that survivor found it first, he didn't use the key, so even if that survivor hadn't a key, he would have escaped.
