  • I've tried to convince them not to remove it.
Didn't happen. Good luck trying to deal with SWF abusing pallets once they'll notice it's broken lol.

About the idea : not the worst I've seen, tho it seems rather killer sided still, and could make the lategame to be extra long.

  • As stated above, the nerf to give killers a "choice" wasn't even justified in the first place.
Items are strong enough not to deserve any kind of luxury.

People still can't accept that camping is still a thing and literally intended by the Devs? It's really not a big deal in the slightest.

    Its not intended.
They talk it good, because they cant balance the game properly, because of the survivor tears.

    Camping is intended.
You have to give the killer a reason to leave the hook, not expect him to go on a fool's errand and hope he doesn't come back in time. Someone getting caught is now a bait for other players, and a bait, in several scenarios, do have pretty low survival chances.

If you have a problem with that, you have 2 solutions :
    Do not save against campers.
    Do not get caught.

And yes, at times, you'll get caught and camped. ######### happens.

    It's not intended.
They never intended a killer watching a player 120 seconds die.
If so, they wouldn't do so much about it. (+40 hook time, 3 perks against it, test builds to fix camping etc.)

It is used because killers are weaker as survivors, forcing them to watch a player die, slowly...

It's totally boring for a killer to watch a player die 120 seconds.
But the majority of killers does it. Including me. BECAUSE YOU CAN'T WIN OTHERWISE, when not playing one of the 2 clearly overpowered killers.

They have to fix it and not call it "strategy".
It is not, strategy needs to be thought of.
This is over and over the same standing in front of a dying player or a few feet away. No real strategy involved.

With camping I mean not patrouling the hook to catch other survivors.

    It's intended.
The only reason they added 30s (it's not 40), is because they also added 10s to the gen, and 5s to the gates, so to balance it out so killers do not win exclusively by camping, they did increase the hook time.
If there's 3 perks against it, it's EXACTLY to be able to deal with this kind of scenarios. It's more of a proof it's intended than the opposite.

Standing in front of a player and waiting for him to die is exactly like repairing gen while someone is camping, it's a strategy. A basic one, but still one.
Not to mention it's necessary for it to stay to be able to use a 3 gens strategy efficiently, allowing you to camp your target while close patrolling your gen, which is a very common STRATEGY used by several killers.

It's cheap and not fun for anyone.
It was never intended from the devs, that a killer MAINLY camps. It was intended the killer is around making it dangerous, but not impossible to hook save.
They never intended a survivor dying on the first hook. They wouldnt have added 3 hook stages if it wasn't intended for the survivor to get in the game again.

The impossible hook save is totally intended. Devs stated several times in the stream that you shouldn't save when the killer is around, and even nerfed BT so you couldn't easily counter a camper.
Dying on the first hook can happen to anyone depending on the situations. Saying it's not intended is just pushing the excuses.

  • Seems allright to me, as long as you don't use them in the open.

  • It requires at least to be multiplied by 10, if not 20.
I'd say 20 would be a nice basis.
360 bonus for a double pip would prove nice.

I can understand them not wanting to use that idea until a Decisive Strike nerf, tho.

Decisive Strike is getting a buff.

This is not true. They did some concept about it, and now they're actually working on another project (no promises, once again), that will make DS to only stun the killer, but not drop.
    Proof : https://imgur.com/a/Uhx6cVj
As he says, it's a TEST, so it's gonna very likely be either in the PTB, or possibly opted out, like the previous TESTS for DS.

    About Boil Over :
The wiggling effect, as killer, is actually pretty annoying. Tho, the other power could definitely use a buff of a few meters to make it actually useful.

  • The gens aren't faster.
It's just that people realized that their easy options to survive are getting away, so they start actually stressing it out and playing the game, since being found can become actually dangerous now.

  • Rank rewards have been asked for since 2016.
The only logical reason it's not in game yet is pretty simple to me :
Devs don't want the community to feel bad for being either a casual player, or a bad player.

  • @ThePloopz said:

Not sure how you can even not safety now, except if you're like that guy from the other thread that RQ'ed after running in straight line.
It may happen if you're quickly caught first and camped, but otherwise... I don't see how it is now possible.

The whole point to have "that many hooks" is to avoid the "exceptions" case you stated. Because any exception will be heavily abused by survivors, that will simply end up running in a corner of the map so they can wiggle off if you try to grab them.

Struggle by yourself, as survivor, isn't supposed to be a common thing. There's enough ways for survivors to escape the killer grasp already, aka bodyblocking, pallet stunning, Decisive Strike, Flashlights.

I'm definitely not saying that they should be reduced to the point where struggling out becomes commonplace but like just a few less of them, while being better spaced out.would be nice. Spacing them out better could fix the issue of going into a corner and being able to wriggle out and similar issues, and if it doesn't, I wouldn't mind them increasing the amount of time to struggle to prevent this. I get where you're coming from, my point is just that it feels like the number of hooks could be reduced a little with them being spaced out over the map a bit better.

Seems like devs listened to you :
Changed the number of hooks for each map to be based on its number of tiles (Total Tile Count / 3)

BBQ is a very strong perk but its best asset is the BP gain you get from using it. If you're using it for tracking and playing at relatively high rank it's not as useful because half-decent Survivors will just beeline to the hook as you hook someone so they don't get detected.

You could have a really good start, down someone, hook them in the corner of the map, far away from any gens, all within the first minute or so. And I guarantee that you're STILL not going to see the other 3 Survivors with BBQ. There's always going to be at least one guy hiding nearby, avoiding detection and waiting to hook rush.

The best aspect of BBQ is that it lets you know if there's someone nearby hiding and waiting to hook rush.

Not to mention it's being nerfed next patch, due to the color change of generator auras, so people can easily hide behind them now.

Oh goody, another nerf to Killer perks.

They also nerfed Billy on the PTB, by making bloodlust to go if he revs his chainsaw. So basically, you lose bloodlust stacks if you try to use your chainsaw to mindgames at pallets.
Yup, some sneaky nerfs they get in game without many people noticing.

They can sneak in those changes but that big DS change is just too hard to do for them...

I just asked to a dev (jeff is awesome), and he told me that the bloodlust reset only happens when the chainsaw sprint STARTS, so I suppose it's not actually a nerf!
My bad on that (the patchnote was misleading tho, he's gonna make it more clear he told me)
    I quote it

    • Fixed an issue that caused Bloodlust to be reset at the end of a Chainsaw interaction with the Hillbilly. Bloodlust will now reset at the start of the Chainsaw interaction instead.

    NOED
Enduring (super strong, as you can drop a potion to your feet as you grab a DS user, and he will be greatly slowed down as he drops, allowing you to give him very minimal distance.)
And a flexible slot, possibly Franklin, Bamboozle or Brutal Strength since people will very likely drop early pallets on him.

Why no BBQ or Whispers? I thought the clown was decent in a chase.

Also, I like using NOED but to me that implies a killer is rather low tier. But I mean if it's necessary then it's necessary I guess.

The tip with Enduring is really smart however. I never thought of that. DS is still running rampant so it's definitely not a bad idea. And enduring is just awesome anyway.

No BBQ because I don't need BP, and he's not made to run over the map as he has a pretty bad mobility overall, especially with the reloads.
No Whispers since he doesn't get that many extra uses on it. I like whispers, I think it's a great perk, but it needs to have some extra uses tied to the power itself to be extra useful imo.
Also, most people don't hide anymore anyway.
I use NOED even on top tier killers too.
It's gonna be super effective on Clown for a simple reason : he's a pallet breaker since he forces early pallet drop, so if the survivors keep dropping pallets early and still manage to repair due to their number, you can eventually snowball lategame using NOED since vaults won't prove efficient to keep him at bay.
WHich is also why I get Brutal Strength : to break early dropped pallets quicker and improve his chasing even more.

DS is more debatable, and in my opinion, very broken and mostly : UNFUN.

Dead Hard at least, has some counterplays, and is arguably not super strong, while still being very useful to have.

wait what no counter play to ds hmmmm dropping a player to the hook seems to be their counter play , and the new ds will be better because no more healing up so one hit kills sweet .

First : It's not always possible to dribble.
Second : A single bodyblocker counters any dribbling attempt.
Third : They're very likely gonna remove the grab vacuum next patch, which will greatly hinder dribbling.

And lastly : the "new DS" isn't coming out next patch, and its rework hasn't even be decided yet, as it's gonna be in TESTING in the next PTB, which is not before NEXT MONTHS.

No one really plays her on console. Tough to kind of gauge that. But yeah, in 1 year of playing on PS4 I ran into 1 good nurse. But you can honestly go a week without seeing one.

As survivor at high ranks, I can hardly go an HOUR without seeing one.

I should clarify, when I say good nurse, I mean one that just wrecked me. Other than that, the rest of them can be juked by running back into the blinks, something I know doesn't work on PC. But I think given that you need to use controller it's hard to quick blink into the ground move so they can't really counter it well.

Being accurate with Nurse and a controller seems really hard, yes, especially since she requires quick camera flicks and such.

I consider it the same as lightweight. Maybe not noticable to you, but a big difference to the killer.

It makes perks like DS to be, instead of a 18s (minimum) required to catch up, a 33s (minimum) to catch up, if running in straight line. Quite a difference if you ask me, but very situational.

  • As long as you gently tap the wiggle buttons in rythm, you cannot get it to go faster.
It's usually around 16s to wiggle off.

Thank you, i wanna take my time learning the hag cause i had a fun game doing the daily challenge with the Rusty Shackles add on, but she isnt as similar to the Trapper as it first seems.

    She's entirely different.
I play both, as I love Trapper (especially his style). And she's completely different, you actually got a LOT of learning to do with her, mostly about where to place traps.
Some trap placements are actually impossible to counter except if the survivor got an exhaustion perk triggering as they walk over it, which is very unlikely to happen in a chase (except for Dead Hard)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnefmgqNvxA

For example, that one is actually VERY hard to counter as survivor (sorry for the stupid brightness, I messed up that setup that game and didn't want to waste my round doing settings since I hate losing) :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2bmZeNgiRU

You can also trap the entrance WITHOUT the pallet, at the shack, it's basically a 100% hitrate without exhaustion perk triggering, once again. Make sure to mash CTRL when you predict a triggered trap.

  • @Soren said:

by the time it activates, another pallet is dropped on you that you pretty much have to break
make it so that bloodlust is earned slightly quicker, and doesn't go away after breaking a pallet

Bloodlust will be changed (probably with mid-patch update). Quicker (so it helps better overall during chases) but you won't be able to go to bloodlust 3 (which was considered as a crutch by some).

It's not exactly what they said.
What they exactly said is :
It's gonna take 12s instead of 15s for each level of bloodlust.
They're gonna reduce the speed increments you get from each level. The new level 3 of bloodlust will have the same speed than the old bloodlust 2.

Basically, overall, it's a nerf if you consider the ratio of time/speed.

  • I'll provide the same advice than the other thread :

    Key points of Hag :

    • As you enter the game, pick a strategy. As fast as possible. And by strategy, I mean an area that you're gonna be at.
    • Do not try to cover the whole map with traps, it's not happening.
    • Do not try to chase in looping spots that are not trapped unless you have a HUGE amount of time to do so, which is very rare.
    • Learn trap placements. Where to place traps to make them really hard if not impossible to counter once triggered.
    • 3 gens strategies are heavily advised. Extending to 4 gens will make it way more efficient and harder to read. Extending it to 5 gens if the survivor's pressure is really low is a possibility.
    • Get a good set of perk. Ruin and Monitor and Abuse are mandatory. Hag is a Stealth killer, she's really hard to spot and with a 16 meters radius, really hard to play against because you'll never know if she'll come out of a triggered trap.
    • Vaults are your best friends. Vaults are basically insta-hits if trapped properly. Exploit that, especially at the shack and strong vaulting spots that are in every maps.
    • Including the basement in you area will just make your hookings to be deadly. There's very few counters to Hag basement hooks without including either tons of players and commitment and a good dose of luck.
    • Do not overtrap a single area. 2 traps per juking spot is usually alread overkill. 1 trap per hooked person is usually sufficient.
    • Use the add-ons without downsides only, aka... The necklaces to trap faster, and the grey mud add-on to increase the range of your teleport. A few ultra-rare are also nice to use, but change her play a lot.
    • Spamming CTRL is a must to be teleporting instantly.

    • Do not trap GENS or TOTEMS, trap juking spots only

    Basically :

    • You want to roam the map in order for that Meg to trigger sprint burst before reaching a trap. That's why you don't trap gens.
    • You don't run into loops. At all. If you get looped once, you play her wrong. Never, ever, ever, run in circles. Ever draw, or drop to protect your gens. Do not play the pallet game, you WILL LOSE.
    • Decisive Strike, is indeed a pain. But it's a pain for all killers, not only Hag
    • If people are running around the map triggering your traps, it's because your trap placement are too close to gen passages, and not to juking spots. People do not randomly run around juking spots unless they got way too much time on their hand. And they're not supposed since one of their friend is dying. If they trigger nearby gens around the hook, just place them again, no biggie, it will take 10s at best with decent add-ons.
  • Same answer than the other thread about the same subject :

Basically, right now, 550 shards will earn you 200k bp (or the perk).
Post patch, it will ask you way more shards to get 150k bp (or the perk). Not sure about the exact amount.

You can obviously save your shards to get some cosmetics, but shards will be way easier to earn (3 to 5 times faster than the current ratio, basically), that's why they suggest to use it now rather than keeping them if you feel like it.

  • It's up to you.
