  • Sprint ######### burst.
Along with the fact that most killers do rely too much on survivor's mistakes, rather than your own capacities.

  • Dead Hard is definitely fine.
DS is more debatable, and in my opinion, very broken and mostly : UNFUN.

Dead Hard at least, has some counterplays, and is arguably not super strong, while still being very useful to have.

  • No one ? Really ? Okay here we go :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCKPE8fku7Y

    Just break the pallet.

On a more serious note : The lack of mindgames in pallet looping is the affliction of this game.
    It, indeed, needs to stop.

  • They got implemented as special items for the game first anniversary. They were supposed to go, overall, but people liked them and they decided to let them to stay, basically.
The rare offerings are older and an artefact of the old meta, the new "uncommon" ones are more recent and most likely a bonus for people to farm faster now.
They didn't increase/lower rarities because they judged the BP gain to be sufficient for now I presume.

It real isn't file editing, you are just replacing old icons with new ones. Like taking a picture that has the same name and replacing it with a new one

Now if you added pictures or removed them from the file than you are messing with the game.

It's kinda like saying that replacing musics in the game is fine (even full muted musics) because it's simply "replacing" and not "adding" or "deleting". (Even tho musics do have more impact on the gameplay than pictures ofc)
    Very debatable.
    I wouldn't try it.
The day any anti-cheat software will get updated and suddendly detect a file difference, you might just get insta-banned.
You'd better simply have a legit game.
Tho, it's up to your own risks.

Adrenaline/SB and Hope can stack at the end which is nice. I would have prefered if Hope's numbers were slightly greater, like 10-12%. But I still wouldn't find it useful since it's more like a perk that needs to be stacked with something else. Definitely not a good stand-alone perk.

Maybe if it increased ALL action speeds, including vaulting, interaction, searching, healing, sabo, cleansing, opening gates, crawling, recovering, running, walking, crouching, drop stagger by 10-12% AND makes your cooldowns faster by 7-10% then maybe it would be half decent.

12% would have actually made survivors to be as fast as killer when sprinting in circles close to walls, due to the bigger killer hitbox.
You could have basically ran the killer nearly to infinite loops.

  • I'll just point of something.
    35% per dead survivors.
    3 dead survivors = 105%.
Hillbilly chainsaw rush speed is 220%.
    Her speed would be 205%.
She would be nearly as fast as a Billy while he's chainsaw rushing, without the downsides.
Now that should make some interesting lategame jukes.

  • I'd rather have some base powers to be stronger rather than relying on add-ons to be effective tho. Even if that means having weaker add-ons in the end.

  • Pretty simple : Don't bring Hope. Bring Adrenaline if you want an actual useful lategame perk.

  • @Skemooo said:
so whats the numbers of mangled status effect then? either the huntress double addons or Pigs or clows? is it similar to freddys dream state numbers? assuming dying light is active

Hard to tell, but the numbers are very likely multiplicative.
Like coulrophobia being a 50% reduction, leading to a 48s heal instead of 24s (without skillchecks), which multiplies the different reductions you can apply on top of it.

3min28 is basically 860% more healing time than the regular self-care. With that kind of ratio, it cannot be additive.

Her teleport isn't too slow to counter loops.
    Her teleport heavily counter windows.

You're just bad with her, sorry.

More words and no actual examples. Neat.

Lots of examples have been thrown.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMspG5QwGrs&feature=youtu.be
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnefmgqNvxA
Proper trap placement are actually VERY hard to counter.
And it will be even worse with the vacuum removal.
A window is pretty much insta-hit.
    https://youtu.be/j23Qu9YG6-E?t=72
You have a few examples in a row. Not a single surv could use that window without getting hit.

I have nothing to prove anyway, I don't even plan to try to convince anyone, I'm just trying to point out things. If people do not "believe so", it's fine. Worst case scenario, she will get ignored/eventually buffed, which is fine to me

How about we keep it as it is, but every time someone is hit, all survivors get a 1/1.5/2 % action speed regression?
Would stop body blocking too that way.
And slightly affect Self Care since it will take longer and longer to heal.

Would need a cap, but it could do.

  • It stacks.
We tried it, it takes 3min28s to heal in freddy dreamstate with Coulrophobia, Freddy's dream mod, slowing add-ons (both of them) and Dying Light.
We didn't use Thana tho, so it could have been even slower.

@Runiver I was only saying, that it should be a obession perk, because if more than one survivor is using it, the killer will really suffer by it. So with Saboteur as a obsession perk, only one survivor will have it easier and like the other survivors have to acutally use saboteur longer to break it.

Hm would be allright then. +1

  • Because if you let that go, people will go apeshit with fake reports and such to try to "name and shame".
Not to mention the fake montages and stuff. They also want to avoid witch hunting. Basically they don't want the players to rule the games.

However it's pretty discutable about the threads with ACTUAL video links of cheating, I have to admit. Protecting these players is just pretty dumb.

  • The main issue about your idea is pretty simple :
ALL obsession perks from killers, do not make the obsession to actually die faster (except for Dying light, which is super weak.)
Making the survivor to be the obsession for using saboteur would be useless unless they make being obsession an actual DOWNSIDE rather than a simple bonus (aka "Yay, I can use DS easily!)

About saboteur itself, right now it's in the current state :
It can be useful if you're solo using it, but it's very likely a waste of time.
It can actually be useful if your whole team uses it, mostly via SWF, then it can become a real pain and is mostly used to troll and bully along with unbreakable and geared survs.

Saboteur could use some rework, but I'm quite not sure what it should be tbh since No Mither and Unbreakable are now a thing, along with the "stand under pallet without vacuum grab" update that will come live soon.

The DLC, not cosmetics. So you're saying if we buy the characters we get exclusive items?

Can you provide a source? Cause I was actually asking for something like that, give something exclusive to people who bought, say the Doctor before 2.0

    I can confirm this.
Devs said, on their stream, that directly buying the DLC with money instead of purchasing it with Shards in the new store will give an EXCLUSIVE cosmetics. The source is the stream with the french accent asian wamen.

EDIT : looking at the post above, it seems like it's possibly just a discount tho.

  • As for any file editing, I wouldn't try it.

  • I wouldn't use it on Billy. The later they hear the chainsaw, the better it is for you, usually. Distressing can also really screw you up in big maps such as asylum maps, since people can hear you coming from very far, and you're still not able to pressure people properly due to the map size.

I wouldn't use it on Hag, especially since her base terror radius is minimal (24 meters), she's WAY stronger as a stealth killer with M&A, making her terror radius 16 meters.

Basically : I wouldn't run the perk on anything but Doc, and possibly on some specific (small) maps.

  • Not being able to be saved is a feature of this game since day 1.
If the killer catches you and want you dead, he can totally chose to do so.
It may be unfair for the camped person, but this game is a 4v1, and think about it this way :
Your "teammates" aren't your friends. They are cooperatives working toward the main objective for them that is : escape for THEMSELVES. Other players fate do not concern them at all. By being hard camped, you're doing a good distraction for others to escape, so you're basically doing your job for them.

The main issue doesn't come from the fact you cannot save, but from the fact people still try to force it up (and usual fail) and reward campers excessively, usually with way more kills than they deserve in the first place. Along with hook suiciders and ragequitters.

  • There's actually quite the room for mindgames in the shack
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GZMT2DF25w
You just gotta exploit the few moments where the survivors have to make a choice. Tho it can prove difficult against great players and is, indeed, a super good juke spot.
My advice is pretty simply :
Play like if the pallet didn't even exist. Worst case you get stunned, but you'll get it out of the way ASAP.

  • They removed the downvote feature, it had to be expected, there's some consequences.

  • It wasn't release 15 days ago.

Though the colours are based on usefulness/power, which is why I want the Ultra Rare tiers to return.
Ultra rare tiers = S tier
    Purple = A Tier
    Green = B Tier
    Yellow = C Tier

We can all agree not all purple perks are A tier but above. Plus the more colourful the more pretty, bringin the gay into DBD via perks are the homos global objective! We must prevail!

I don't want them to get the ultra rare color back for one thing : it would make bloodwebs more expensive since ultra-rare "items" are more expensive.
They should just normalize all perks colors, possibly making them either all green, or all purple at rank 3, would fix the matter

    • ... The benevolence, which is quite logical ? If you want to score altruism points, you gotta save your teammates, but it's not necessary to pip still.

The problem isn't that you are not Benevolent and don't get an emblem. That's logical because you didn't DO anything to earn it. My point is that you can LOSE your Benevolence because a killer camps or a survivor kills themselves on the hook (or worse, runs to the killer after you unhook them). You could be sitting pretty on Iridescent Benevolence while opening the gate, all set for a pip, when the bonehead survivor decides to try and get more Evader points and ends up getting whacked with NOED and hooked before you can actually escape. I can't tell you how many games I leave before the killer gets that hook just because staying will mean I lose my emblem and my pip.

In the previous ranking system I wouldn't have to save the guy either, but I'm also not punished for staying to make an attempt. With emblems I am because if the killer is just that defensive you can't save them and have to just eat those -10 points. In one situation I've pipped and now saving the guy is just me being greedy for BP, which indirectly benefits the killer because I stay in the game. In the other situation I'm just kinda getting screwed for someone ELSE'S mistake in a way I can't recover.

Well, I think that, according to their choice, you possibly sorta "failed" to protect your teammates (even tho it's pretty hard to protect some individuals from their own stupidity), and if you choose to escape while they get hooked (and very possibly still saveable), you possibly deserve that loss of point.
    It's discutable, obviously.
Similarly, it's also discutable for a killer to lose points for letting survivors to heal under the hook because you chose not to camp.

The previous system (BP based) was kinda ######### tho. Basically wondering 30s in the realm with a map in hand, doing half a gen and a save was already enough to safety.
I actually had really rare occurence of finding myself to actually depip/safety when I think I earned a pip. Most of the time, when I safety, I'm just thinking like "Yeah, that's true, I should have done X better"
At least in my opinion that is, but yeah, the emblem system isn't perfect. I guess the easier emblems, next patch (tomorrow, or in a few hours depending where you live) will partially fix the issues.

    Your reasons are laughable. shrugs

Try playing a hag against any remotely decent teams and see how top tier she is. Her teleport speed is too slow to counter pallet loops. she barely counters vaults, and on multiple occasions playing her I've had survs be out of sight by the time I've teleported. She's trash tier. Not to mention that if the survs have any idea of where you put your traps you can lose minutes of setup while they trigger them if you pick someone up.

The rework I did propose for a while now :

Make him visible at all times.
Make him able to hit awake survivors.
He would still be able to put survivors to sleep
    24 meter terror radius.
    Heartbeat sounds when not asleep.
Lullaby when asleep, non directional, without sound increase if he's close to make it harder to read.
Make Freddy to "Blink" and disappear sporadically from the survivor's prospective when in dream mode, especially if the survivor stays asleep for an extended period of time.
Remove his Aura reading ability out of heartbeat.

Would fix most of his issues for both sides. He wouldn't be invisible anymore tho, which could be pretty boring to people liking that feature, but this feature is also part of his problem.

How would you address the self care issue with him?

I wouldn't, since being asleep wouldn't be a necessity anymore for him to kill you.
His sleeping would be mostly used to mindgame survivors, and punish extended chases (aka people wasting your time without trying to break line of sight).
Making yourself to temporarily disappear would force loopers to early drop pallets or could even get them to get hit since they lost vision on you for enough time for you to run the other way around the pallet area and hit without them being able to see you.

Basically, this rework would ask for very minimal work since it's basically the same mecanism for him, used in other fashions.

Could you expand Runi as to why you think this? :)

    Sure.
As a new player, with soon to have 3 level 1 perk unlocked at level 1 with the arrival of 2.0.0, I would be very frustrated not to be able to equip them as I reach level 5-10, because I failed my first few matches. And even if you don't fail them and manage to miraculously pip as a beginner, you wouldn't be able to reach rank 18 with 2-3 rounds.

I also don't think people should be punished with less mecanics because they're not as good as the game as some others. I think the ranks, however, should have some benefits, aka some bonus BPs during/at the end of the season and such.

Bonuses DURING the season would be way superior tho, as it would prevent people not to rank up until the end of it and exploit the matchmaking weaknesses even more.

Wow if that s all they could do about this then I m disappointed.

The map used to have 3 to 4 lockers total (2 in the shack, 1 on each maze, sometimes it didn't even spawn). Now it has 5 to 6 (1-2 on the main boat, 1 on each maze, 2 in the shack)

I doubt they'll put lockers in random swamp locations since they would look out of place, so yeah, this is a very annoying map for huntress, especially because of its size.

Grim Pantry got more lockers tho, so at least that's something.

  • Here's my suggestion, if you get to high ranks :
    Unequip OoO.
I personally do anything, as killer, to kill an OoO carrier, and make sure that if I ever catch the guy, he will never hit the ground again. And most killers that I know (and I'm on a community discord) act the same.

We consider it a SWF killer radar, and I personally accept to lose the round just for the single purpose of killing OoO carriers.
    Just a friendly warning, sir!

    Rip Dying Light.

I'm not sure if you're actually aware of what 40% actually is in game, but it's huge.

I don't know, dude. I've used Dying Light, with the Obsession add-on AND an Ivory Mori with Freddy and killed the obsession maybe 2 minutes into a match and they were still able to get gens done pretty quick. And by the time the Obsession died there were usually 3 gens left. Not AS quick but still quicker than you would expect considering.

Edit: it might be really good if you couple Dying Light with Pop Goes The Weasel to really slow down their gen progress. But if you're not using Freddy and have that add-on you're kind of screwed. And if you're running around, hitting Survivors, looking for your obsession you're kind of screwed there too because you're wasting time and not putting people on hooks. And even if you find the obsession you're forced to camp and hope and pray they don't get all the gens done.

I don't say dying light is good, I just say that putting Thana to 40% (or even 20%) would make Dying light completely obsolete, hence the "RIP Dying Light".
You could already say Dying Light is already dead tho, in the current state.

  • Trapper : I mostly agree.

Wraith : Either make him 100% invisible, or make him way faster while cloaked. Both could prove excessive. Tho I mostly agree.

Hag : She mostly need QoL buffs with her traps more than movement speed itself. Like not losing the lunge momentum after the teleport, or faster trap setting, and ultimately : BETTER ADD-ONS, her add-ons are nearly all terrible with huge downsides.

Doctor : he will be in a rather fine place, even against looping, once the vacuum will be gone tbh.

Freddy : I mostly agree as well. I'd still prefer my own rework, but that could do.

Pig : Imo she mostly need her AMBUSH to be viable. Mostly achieved by a slight nerf to SB, a better FOV and movement speed, as well as slightly more distance to be able to punish several loops with mindgames.

    I would add :

Myers : He DEFINITELY requires a simple buff : when you fully stalked someone, you gain benefits in a chase against that specific person, aka bonus movement/recover on hits. Increase that bonus if the target is your obsession.

Leatherface : Not being slowed down that much during the revving would be at least the BASELINE for having a decent character.

Huntress : Less small loops for her would be lovely.

I have no trouble with Emblems on either side and Survivor Emblems got noticeably easier in the PTB.

Seems to me, it's more of a personal problem.

Doesn't change the fact that the gameplay still needs to be fixed.

Doesn't change the fact that Emblems are inconsistent with your actual goals in the game.

Doesn't change the fact that your success is dependent on how other people play.

If you believe that, then I suggest you actually look up how Emblems work. I'm stealthy and rather egoistic as a Survivor, yet I usually pip with the Emblem System, because I know what they expect me to do during the game. If I know I won't get a good Quality in Emblem A, I'll try to substitute with a good Quality in Emblem B, I constantly adapt my playstyle and it has worked very well for me so far.

    "Adapting".
People do not want to "adapt", they want to be rewarded for playing like they want to play, whatever they do. Which is hilarious in a sense, like : "DUN TELL ME WUT I NEED TO DO" behavior is always hilarious.

Have the devs said whether or not they’ll let us buy bloodpoints? Time saver microtransactions are nothing new and to be honest, I’d love an option to spend money on BP and save some time grinding.

So far, they will not sell bloodpoints.
And I truly hope that will never be the case.

  • Devs do have another opinion on the subject when it comes to pipping, simply.
For devs, simply repairing and escaping isn't enough to prove you're worthy of a pip.

I do not fully support the emblem system, has it has its flaws, but :

    • You can totally pip decently easily without being altruistic. It's just a choice. I personally very oftenly pip without saving or healing anyone. I usually get no emblem/bronze benevolence (the basis) and it proves enough to pip
    • The Gen competition system is a good system. Survivors aren't teammates, they're cooperative that fight also each others for their own survival. In that regards, it also makes people to tryhard to do gens as fast as possible not to get their emblem points "stolen" by others, and it's definitely fine this way, as the original concept isn't "We're all friends, we share everything", but rather "we work together, but the ultimate objective I have is my own escape". Playing solo has no downsides except...
    • ... The benevolence, which is quite logical ? If you want to score altruism points, you gotta save your teammates, but it's not necessary to pip still.
    • About killers, the pips aren't easier to earn. You can actually safety/eventually even depip by getting 3k, and you can eventually pip by getting 0-1k, depending on how you performed in the round. (And no, @RemoveSWF , looping doesn't give you points in chaser. It's actually the opposite, the SHORTER the chase, the more points you score. If you stay in chases for extended durations, you actually get VERY POOR chaser points, so you're wrong about that. You actually score way more points/the same amount of point by downing a single guy under 15s, and by downing 3 over 300s.)

Overall tho, I ultimately agree with the main point of your thread :
They should consider to BALANCE THE GAME before actually trying to ######### a pseudo-ranking system out of a broken gameplay system and trying to make it fit like if it's gonna solve anything.
Not to mention the ranks are still irrelevant and most people just prefer to stay low ranks anyway since it gives everyone easier games, which is definitely stupid (Aka still no rewards)

P.S.: most of my survivor round rewards look like this :
    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1378048491
I usually don't help anyone, eventually leech points from camping killer at times when you can afford it, but ultimately, repairing and being around the killer for a few seconds to get a free bronze evader is not hard to achieve, at all, and is usually enough to pip.

  • Lithe is pretty good to lose killers in a chase.
Iron Will is mandatory for stealth build.
Urban evasion is discutable but could prove useful.
Quick and Quiet can be decently strong.

Balanced Landing is super strong in some maps, and will get buffed tomorrow.
Lightweight is decent, nothing super strong tho.

Tho the main thing is : being good is the most effective way to lose a killer.

The main issue with the redstain removal is... That people that are aware the redstain do exist already know how to manipulate it, and won't need that tool.
Meanwhile, the ones that are not aware of it, will don't get the point of using it.

Which is why I did suggest to him to give Beast of Prey a secondary ability, possibly tied to the activable he wanted to provide, but to be able to temporarily change your terror radius or so, for example.

  • +1, not sure why it's not the case already.
Similarly to Make Your Choice not being lighting on/off depending on the distance you are from the hook.

  • Camping is a fine mecanic for the original concept of the game :
Camping means your teammates is doing an efficient and effective distraction in order for you to repair and escape. You are not meant to save someone getting camped. And yes, it sucks to get caught and camped, but it happens, and this kind of situation is bound to happen in a 4v1 game.

So walk through pallets? What would happen if Wraith tried to uncloak while ontop of a pallet?

I think he means like vaulting a window at 90% of the normal speed, breaking pallets at 90% speed and so on

No, he means walking through obstacles such as walls and such. It has been asked several times and wouldn't be too strong overall.
About the uncloaking, just do not allow him to uncloak inside objects.
