exactly! i had no intention to hold the game for very long, i was just trying to find the last person but i unfortunately kept finding the Mikaela so i just had to kind of wait for her to either keep getting picked up or bleed out while the last guy does whatever

The "2 survivors/too many gens" needs to be addressed.

They nerfed hatch so hard cause the way survs squeezed out escapes from the old unbalanced hatch seemed so strong. If people had not specialized on play that way hatch would not had been hit so hard I think

Yes, the hatch was nerfed because it was abused by SWF. Obviously only SWF could abuse of this, like anything.

What i am really pissed off is that from the first day they anounced the hatch nerf, i inmediately saw the coming of all these stalemates that would make the game boring overtime.

Yet i can't wrap my head around as why BHVR balancing team, which are known of slowly applying nerfs to game mechanics and test them on ptb, decided for the hatch to be destroyed in one single patch. There was so much they could have done.

I just played a game as Wesker with one gen remaining, and i really wanted to get a 4k. I kept finding the Mikaela and slugging her to try and find the Dwight (last person) so i could end the game with my 4k, but i could barely find the Dwight, so I unfortunately bled the Mikaela out. I apologized to both and one of the other teammates said what I did was holding the game hostage; is this true?

I feel really bad about slugging the Mikaela though and i should have just ended the game a lot sooner but opinions are much appreciated

    I don't want to get banned :(

You cant be banned for slugging for the 4k.

    Or hard tunneling someone early.

Or face camping at 5 gens.

Just dont expect nice, respectful comments out of any of these.,

Now, i said in another thread and i say it again here, the killer should not be able to force a four min stalemate where the last surv cant repair their way out and the only option it has is to hide or give up.

  • The "2 survs/too many gens" stalemate is something that bhvr needs to address.

You shouldnt ban the 2 survs that are hiding in a +3gens remaining situation when they clearly cannot repair their way out. It's the same as throwing yourself to the killer.

I will always say that this is a problem created by bhvr when they overnerfed the hatch not realising that this would produce thousand of stalemates by they removed the chance to repair for hatch.

  • Play the way you want.

It is not your fault as killer player that camping and tunneling are the most rewarding and clear way of winning this game.

And even if i dislike tunneling and camping, Me (a random guy in forum) cant ask you to not play your best.

  • It is way more common to found a good nurse than a toxic swf.

No, its definitely about the same in terms of rarity, if it wasn't, nurse would be the highest kill rate killer, yet she is actually the lowest.

Come on, again with the 'nurse has the lowest kill rate'.

Remember that the stats does not include games with DC, and nurse games are plagued with DCs. There are thousands of 3k that are not added to the stats.

I don't know if you know this, but 4 escapes is incredibly common. All it takes is the killer not being Leatherface, or not having killed 2 survivors before the gens were done. Hook bombing without those conditions is pretty much a free escape for everyone. Surely you've been in that situation as killer?

Also don't know why it's so taboo for a killer to get a 4k after playing extremely well vs survivors who didn't play all that well, just because of fast gens. If you virtually never got 4 survivors out, I'm sure I would get old for you as well.

Yeah, yeah. "The killer's faster, therefore they're more likely to get to the hatch first." Be that as it may, it still isn't a high chance that they'll get to hatch first. Then the survivors get gates powered for free, and can still find a key.

My argument remains that if we're having issues closing the game out because of a stalemate, the mechanic we use to solve it should at least be killer-sided, not survivor-sided. Make the survivors do something drastic like keep pushing gens or go for the pickup, else they get their aura shown. Or do an endgame chase, which if outlasted the exits open for the survivor. Just do something that isn't a free escape from a button press.

4 escapes incredibly common? really? are we playing the same game?

I dont say it's impossible but i am always having a hard time escaping on my own, let alone with my 3 teammates.

It's not a taboo to 4k, i am not saying you cant or must not get 4 kills. But the situation when you slug for the 4k is made abusing a horrible game state created by BHVR when they butchered the old hatch and inmediately upped the gen times. You know what i am talking, The "2 Survivors Too many gens" state.

Yes, survs can have a key to open the hatch, but more often than not they dont, as they are barely used now. You could say that you can find a surv with a "Find Hatch" build, but those are the type that throw the entire game in favor of a little more chance of escaping.

My argument is that the killer should stay away of stalling mechanics, because if not, in months we will be playing 30 min games where all the perks, items, skill of the killer side will focus of delaying and stretching the match as long as possible.

You should never be in a position where you are the last surv standing, the 3rd one is on the floor and you cant do anything more than hide or give up.

  • Because it is not punished, and if it is not punished, is a 'valid tactic'.

"Killers are buffed into infinity and survivors nerfed into the ground. The match making allows toxic swfs to bully the killer"

If killers were buffed that much (they weren't) and survivors were nerfed that much (they weren't) then how can toxic swfs bully the killer?

    Logical inconsistency here.

Because the toxic swf are minuscule number compared to the entire surv playerbase?

And because is harder to find 4 high level survs playing like a team than to find 1 good killer?

  • Try selecting another survivor challenge, and then bring the light again. That solved the bug for me.

But i never got the progress of those matches that did not count.

But it's how the killer gets 4 kills which they pretty much deserved at that point anyway.

"Deserved 4 kills" is up to debate.

In many threads and by different people including devs, it has been stated that 4k and 4e should be rare, and not something you could easily achieve just by performing an early snowball or hard tunnel.

Said that, you can still get your 4 k by hooking the 3rd survivor and closing the hatch yourself, which the killer has more chance to do anyway as he is faster and doesnt need to hide.

And even if the last survivor escapes, the point is the killer shouldnt be able to force a four minute stalemate where the last survivor cant do anything but hide or die.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Say what you want about the current balance of the game, but if a killer messes up thats 100% of the "team" messed up, while if 1 survivor messes up thats only 25% of the team

Yeah, but it also takes one bad teammate to completely lose the game for the entire team

  • A slug in the middle of a game is ok, like the killer downs a surv and start chasing a 2nd one that is close.

Slugging for the 4k is the worst way to finish a game. The type that kills all fun and makes you wonder why are you still playing dbd

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3259239#Comment_3259239

Okay, which would you prefer to face?

    A) A Ruin and Undying Killer who loses pressure from camping and loses their gen regression after killing a survivor so the Killer is better served by spreading hooks and waiting for seven or eight hooks before killing a survivor; or

    B) A Call of Brine and Eruption Killer whose optimal scenario is camping and tunneling one survivor out ASAP on the first three hooks. Then the remaining gens will be incredibly hard to do with the incapacitation from Eruption and gen regression from CoB with only three survivors.

I don't really understand why anyone would prefer to face B. Why would you prefer B over A?

If you put it that way, i would prefer A, but it still can lead to a boring, stale match.

Buffed ruin would be used with pentimento + plaything for a hex slowdown build.

So i must choose between being slowed down to 2 min per gen (slowdown) or be incapacitated while gen progress revert at a extremely fast rate (regressing).

And pain res, deadlock, gift of pain, can be paired with either.

    God i hate this meta.

  • It's simple. If a killer wants to tunnel you, they will tunnel you. I have heard all kind of excuses for tunneling, but the truth is:

There's no deeper meaning, or necessity, or strategy.

It's just that killers get a massive reward for tunneling someone early, even if it means destroying the fun of the tunneled.

  • Seriously, Dbd has no need of stronger gen regressing perks. The current meta is more than enough.

  • @Bardon said:

To Sandbag a fellow survivor is to act deliberately in a manner that gets them hit. For example, blocking a window/doorway/pallet so they can't run through & the killer gets effectively a free hit.

It's utterly reprehensible behaviour (except in the rare occasion like the charity stream run by a bunch of top streamers where their sole goal was to sandbag each other, which was absolutely hilarious!).

Aaa, i understand. I had some survs do that, but not very often.

What i despised and it happens frecuently ti me are survivors which are being chased by the killer deliberately go to where i am repairing a gen just to throw the killer at me.

  • Can someone explain to me what is to sandbag someone?

like a distraction? or like a pallet predrop you use for cover?

  • Kindred my friend, Kindred

Yep, the reason Nurse and Blight are so strong is because they can either completely circumvent whatever pseudo-infinite tile abomination the map designers came up with, or traverse the 9000 square mile maps easily.

The reason of those two being strong has nothing to do with maps.

Nurse is strong because her power nullifies core gameplay mechanics, leaving you with a guessing game.

Blight is strong because he can be so fast as to check and control 5 gens in a 10 sec rush in a game balanced about 90sec gens + regression perks. And his addons.

  • What i believe, the 4v1 idea gets the misconception of thinking 4 survs are four times the killer, which is not true.

Yes, if we take the literal number there are 4 people against 1, but the objective on the survivor side is balanced and programmed under the concept of multiple people repairing at once.

You cant repair in a 1v1

You can barely get a gen if you are lucky in a 1v2

In some situations, you cant even repair in a 1v3

But the killer does not need anybody to kill the survivors.

I would say the true value of one survivor must be 0.30, because whenever one teammate is killed the game is tilted so much on the killer favour.

  • Well, i've got a lot of test and exams during the event, can i get the reward too?

Bringing Gideon's and 3 busted BNP toolboxes is bullying the killer, I'd say.

If that is toxic, then the mere presence of a nurse with addons should be bullying the survs, i'd say.

  • @Krazzik said:

The survivors wanted to bully the killer and got the one killer in the game who doesn't care about all that crap. Cry harder.

I hate Nurse but I'm glad this SWF got one.

Wait, why do you say they are a bully squad?

A gen rush swf we can all agree but i dont see anything apart of one flashbang that could be used to bully the killer.

Or to bring a commodius equals bully?

  • I would love for bhvr to create a separate Queue where this sweat nurses and squads can be at each other's throat without murdering the rest of the server

  • @Mandy said:

Once the killer has 5 totems under the effect of Hex Pentimento they are blocked permanently by the entity - which is shown in your screenshots. With Plaything in effect it's highly likely that survivors were cleansing totems and the killer rekindling them with Pentimento to get the full effect of the perk.

Mmm, i only saw two of them. And i could not reach a door to confirm the 4th effect.

    Could have been

  • And hatch escape does not increase MMR so yeah, basically losing gives you more chance of losing the next match

  • At least killers have the chance to see if they are going to play against a comp 4man SWF to lobby dodge.

SoloQs have to pray they will be matched against someone that does not stomp them in 5 min.

  • @Veinslay said:

Lol. Killers have been a joke for a long time in this game. A handful of killers have been nerfed into the ground. They finally get one decent patch where they get some baseline buffs and now the game sucks lol. That's what I'm getting from this thread.

So many survivors were getting absolutely hard carried by a combination of maps, old dead hard, and iron will. Maps are still atrociously survivor sided, circle of Healing obliterates entire killers/ playstyles and wrecks 3 gen strats. Gens got 10 seconds added while devs introduced a perk that allows you to solo a gen in 45 seconds. Thanks to the grind reduction it's green medkits, BNPs and insta heals with map offerings every game. Acting like the game is just a free win for killer is just laughably dramatic.

First of all, the "killers have been a joke for a long time" does not hold any ground. Even if it was true, if they were bad before does not mean surv has to suffer now. That's 8-year old way of thinking.

And most of the other things are not entirely true either, or are viewed in a very one-sided convenient way.

There always have been survivor sided maps, and there always have been atrocious killer sided maps. If not, i invite you to play against agi-star nurse in midwich, or Dead Dawg.

DH was nerfed 3 times in the same patch, IW was sinply DESTROYED.

COH was nerfed 2-3 times already and it only negates very few build, very few.

And with the gen speeds you use for example a build that require Two perks minimun, the best toolbox and best addons to cut ONE gens half. And conveniently ignore all the perks killer have for regression.

Again, a very one sided view you have

  • I would like to know what everybody thinks about Dead Dawg Saloon.

For me, a survivor main, is a horrible designed map. A tiny shoebox where the RNG can screw you so much as to let the killer be able to watch 3/4 gens from the same position.

A map where every Terror radius build hits like a truck. Agi-star nurse, agi-star wesker, coulro anti healing doctor.

    God i hate this map

  • The worst for me was when they butchered the old hatch.

I remember using a search chest build to find keys in game. Plunderer + appraisal + ace in the hole and i would take my chances.

Nothing was more epic than being chased while injured, running with your last teammate trying to find the closed hatch, just to finally escape seconds before the killer down us. Good ol' days.

That moment when they butchered the hatch, i knew dbd was slowly getting into an stale and boring game.

Do you see no problem in bloodpoint initiative always being 100% survivor sided?

Maybe throw some bone to the soloQ because we are getting slaughtered out where in a fog and don't really want to boot the game and spend money on it. Haven't bought a single skin this year so far because soloQ is still abandoned and only got way worse after a killer buff which they totally needed it. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3256577#Comment_3256577

But would they have had that 3K if nobody DCd?

If you're stating that the non-DC games show she has a low kill rate, that infers that she has a low kill rate unless someone DCs.

Is Nurse so bad that she can't win unless someone DCs and makes it an easy 3K? Is that what you're saying?

No, i say the 52% is filtering a lot of games where the nurse actually got 3Ks through DCs, which means you are not seeing a lot of games in the middle of the graph where nurse constantly wins.

If you take a game where the nurse player is so new that he/she cant blink properly without crashing through walls, people wont DC in those games, and that's a 0k going to the overall stats.

If you take a game where the nurse is against a comp 4-man SWF, the comp would probably stand a chance to win against her so they wont DC even if they end up all dead, and that can be 0k-1k going to the overall stats.

So if you take all situation where nurses get low kills 0k-1k in the stats, but leave out all the 3k coming from games with DCs, i will say is pretty normal that she has the lowest killrate.

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

If you base your thoughts on that 61% kill rate, remember that nurse is the weakest killer in the game

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VQWHHCCW4A2M/dead-by-daylight-kill-rates-all-mmrs-550x309.jpg

That 52% is toned down by

    1)new players

2)Mostly, bhvr not including DCs in the overall stats. Most games i've played against nurses i've had at least one DC, it is guaranteed as lots of people gets frustrated against her. This means there are must be thousands upon thousands of nurses 3K's that are not being shown in these stats, as they are only shown games where the four survs stayed playing to the end.

  • Maps and keys are really worthless items in this game. Maybe you can get some value in specific situations, but medkits and toolboxes are far better choices.

Bhvr should really think of a way of reworking them or just remove them from the bloodweb

And I feel the same about nodding and hitting on the hook.

Tbh, before I learned about it here I wasn't aware that nodding was considered toxic, as well as the appreciation slap when someone goes to the hook after a hard chase.

But in a game were a bully squad can make your gaming experience one of the worst, something like hookslapping feels like the lightest of things that could happen ^_-

Well, i dont consider nodding and hitting on hook toxic either. Although it depends on the situation.

  • I have a lot of crashes while completing bloodwebs.

Like 2 level of bloodwebs done and "an unknown error ocurred", back to main.

Remember that kill ratio was with them factoring out matches with disconnects which are often 4Ks as well. So the rate would be even higher. No telling if matches with KOBE were also excluded or not which would boost it even more.

I would dare to say if games with DCs/suicide-on-hook could count in the overall stats, the killrates would be close to 70%>

  • @Johann84 said:

players can lock another players in certain places for hours.

Killers can force surv to be 4 min bleeding out on floor.

DCs and killing on first hook everywhere.

Something like a t-bag feels like the lightest of thing that could happen

  • Were you testing the "build the common swf will hate"?

  • That's weird, for me it usually happens the other way.

Killers usually tunnels me (or other) to death if i am playing a low prestige surv P0-P3 as they assume i will die faster also assuming any high prestige will be a good looper.

    Which part?

Any endurance effect leaves you with deep wound status. If you have deep wound, then endurance does not work until dw is mended.

Mom effect was nerfed to also be an endurance effect but then reverted to its former state. And is the only exception to the restriction of deep wound.

  • Wait wait, you cant stack endurance effects since 6.1.0. What are you talking about?

If you take a hit with OTR, Dead hard is useless. Same with BT.

The only one that bypass this rule is MOM, because of the awful requirement of 3 protection hits to activate.
