Call it a rant, will be tl;dr at the bottom if it gets too long.

I'll ignore bugs despite there being at least 1 big one each game [including getting me stuck or ending without killer power or ability to hold m1 on survivor]

So what have i found in my 24 games since i returned from a break? Not fun and a community that i am confident to call the most toxic one that there is. I used to intentionally ######### over league ranked, am active in a community of elitists when it comes to shooters and even dipped my toes in fortnite forums yet i've never seen a more divided, degenerate and disgusting community. It doesn't bother me but it gets old real quick to see a variation of 'kermit sewer slide', some slurs or 'noob [redacted for your safety]' just because i play killer or survivor with a weird build. [On a side note, all this lovely talk comes from survivors, the worst i had of a killer so far is "get ######### noobs"]

Then let me talk about ingame. Survivor is boring, i prefered being tunneled because that allowed me to have the best part of survivor without having to do the boring parts. Killer on the other hand is just annoying, two of my games i had people with macro flashlights and bright skins chase after me when i found someone else, while yes, these people wont escape, i dont feel like a killer but more like the bullied kid at the playground who beats up the bullies and then gets scolded by the teacher.

But hey, at the very least i can report them for having the compulsive wordchoice of a sailor that got his nuts chewed of by a rat without teeth... Except no, ingame reporting does so little that simply not using it is a better outcome as you waste less time on the toxic side. If you want to report you need to make a recording of the chat, go to the website and submit it... Only to read 24 hours later "we've read your ticket, we will look into it" as if i didn't just send them a chat log that makes even the kkk go "now that's a bit much." Half the ######### time.

Tl;dr Game itself aint fun or rewarding, community so toxic and reporting so useless it angers me.

I want to point out a couple of things about what you said in regards of reports:

    • Reporting for abusive language only needs in-game reporting, there is no need to open a ticket for that, they can check the chat log and act on that
    • I reported many people myself using the Support website and the email you received is the standard answer they give and they act on the reports, but keep in mind that you won't see temporary bans on the player's profile

Simply saying "the report system doesn't work so I don't use it" is not helpful, please report when stuff like this happens and please follow the correct procedure that can be found in this thread:

Hello, good people of the fog!

We now have a team Associate Community Managers, as well as an updated in-game report system.
With your help, we will be able to find the players who are creating a bad game experience and punish them appropriately, making the game a better place.

    HOW TO REPORT A PLAYER

You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.
(ie. Reporting someone on behalf of a friend, streamer, or other)

    Fill the In-game report

An In-game report MUST be made. This is not optional, and is a must to help us identify the person in your game as well as find any other evidence we need.

    Customer Support ticket?

    • Video evidence is required or heavily suggested for some offenses, please refer to the lists below.
    • Whilst you can report offenses directly to our support, please only do so for serious offenses like cheating, hacking, DOX/death threats.

    List of bannable offenses

    24h -> 48h -> 1w -> Permanent

This is a sliding scale and determined on a case-by-case basis. If an offense is considered to be particularly egregious, the duration of the ban may skip one or more steps in this process.

Any previous permanent bans on your record will result in all future offenses being a permanent ban.

    Harassment: Communications Abuse

    • Insults, intimidation, hateful speech, repeated harassment
In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

    Griefing: Intentional Gameplay Abuse

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience

    Permanent bans : APPEALS

    Send a Ticket to support.deadbydaylight.com
If the ban is an automated EAC ban, please contact EAC directly. https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/contact/appeal/

    Console bans

The rules are the same as the PC bans

    Crossplatform ban evasion

Players who have violated our rules multiple times leading to permanent bans could get their access revoked on any accounts they make if the player is seen committing bannable offenses after the very first permanent ban. The structure and severity of these bans are followed throughout any platform.

    Abuse of Support Services

This includes making false support tickets and lying to support agents. Our agents are always here to help the community. However, those making false tickets just to get a step ahead of everyone else and take advantage hinders our ability to better help everyone. Penalties include suspension of your support services, up to a permanent ban of your in-game account.

And yes, some reports do require video evidence, since simply saying "player X hacked during my game" is not enough proof, and yes, I would love too an in-game replay system for evidence sake, it would be great, but for now this is the way to do it.

I have tried to create this topic with more details in it, but it was deleted in like 10 seconds, presumably by forum bot, which is again very suspicious to me.

I'll repeat long story short. As Bubba I get 2-4 sprint bursts in 90% of the games. As Nurse I get 2-4 dead hards every game. As Rin i get 3-4 iron wills in 90% of the games. People on Haddonfield tend to have Balanced landing much more often (without map offering). There are many examples of such biased RNG that looks very much like a poor attempt to dishonestly and implicitly nerf certain killers and give our abundantly loved survivors more chances of winning.

What do you think? I know there are examples of such dirty RNG bias tricks in many other online games, some of them even acknowledged by devs themselves, I wonder if it may be the case in DBD as well.

Your thread was in the spam filter, I approved it and merged your two threads.

Ok but what i don't understand how they aren't impulsive if they add a perk that apparently can't work in the game. Because if they did throw this (and blights chapter too) together in a few days it would at least make sense but if the entire team got together and created the twins and their perks how is it released, not finished, broken?

And same goes for the mori nerf, why are they nerfing moris after releasing a dumpster fire they still havent put out! And why in the year 2020 do they not see that the community just responses with more sweaty toxic killers and not playing the killers that were made for the sake of survivor fun?

I honestly can not believe these last 2 chapters have been directionless thoughtless because i know they can do better!

Regarding the Twins, they released a statement explaining why the chapter has been released in that state, I suggest you to read it:

We are a week out from the release of the 4.4.0 update, and we wanted to take a minute to acknowledge: This release brought more known issues and bugs than usual, and for that we would like to apologize. We’d like to pull back the curtain and offer some insight into our decision to release the update in its current state, as well as what our next steps are moving forward.

    Why?

To start, this past Chapter has been one of the most ambitious ones yet. The Twins are a very complex Killer to create , essentially working as two separate Killers. While we like to push the limits on what we can do with our new characters, that unfortunately brings with it more issues to be ironed out before their release.

In order to push an update, we need to create a version of the game and submit it for approval on each platform in advance. This process can take longer depending on how large the update is, with Chapter releases taking the longest to be approved. Unfortunately, this leaves us with less time than it seems to identify and resolve issues.

Between the Player Test Build (PTB) and live releases, we typically have about five days for identifying issues, making changes and, finally, finding and implementing fixes before we need to submit a version. Starting the PTB earlier is not ideal since the weeks leading up to the PTB are spent fine tuning and fixing bugs, so an earlier version would not be suitable for testing. In this window, we focus on the most pressing issues that were identified on the PTB. Once the update is submitted, we immediately start working on the first bugfix patch, which usually needs to be submitted a day or two after the update hits the live version of the game (this is why you may notice that the first bugfix patch focuses mostly on lingering issues from the PTB).

To address the elephant in the room: Why wasn’t the update delayed in that case? This is always a very difficult decision to make, delaying an update would give us some much-needed time to fix more issues that were reported during the PTB, but on the other hand, the feedback we receive from the live release is invaluable. The live release gives us visibility on other platforms, and the amount of feedback and reports we receive from the live update makes identifying, reproducing and fixing certain bugs much quicker. With the holidays quickly approaching, we want to make sure that we have room to release bugfix patches—the last thing we want is to release a big update at the last second and potentially leave the game in rough shape over the holidays.

There’s bound to be discussion about whether or not this was the right decision, and understandably so. We are taking feedback on this into consideration very seriously for the future.

    So what’s next?

The first bugfix patch is releasing today: This patch bundles twice as many bug fixes as a typical release, prioritizing the most critical and visible issues from the 4.4.0 update. Here’s a short list of some of the most noteworthy changes and fixes coming in today’s update:

    • Victor can now hold a Survivor in a locker
    • Reverted changes to Flashlight accuracy
    • Fixed missing visual feedback when blinding a Killer with a Flashlight
    • Fixed an issue that could cause Victor to get stuck in the ground when released
    • Fixed an issue that allowed Survivors to crawl out the exit gates when downed while Victor was on their back
    • Fixed an issue that caused Survivors to briefly see their own scratchmarks

We aim to release a second bugfix patch next week that will contain more fixes (perk issues, level design issues, and various improvements). As for the remaining major issues, we have been able to reproduce them internally and are working on fixes for each of them. We are aiming to fix as many of these issues as possible with the second bugfix patch, with any leftovers slotting into a future update.

Finally, we want to take a moment to say thank you for understanding and for reporting the issues you’ve come across. If you haven’t already, please remember to log into the game before December 10th 2PM Eastern to claim 300,000 free Bloodpoints. We know this doesn’t change any issues you have been facing, this is a token of appreciation for sticking with us as our team works on resolving any remaining known issues.

The Mori nerf was something they announced months ago, they said they were looking into changing Moris and Keys during a Q&A.

Also I don't understand your statement in regards of the Blight, I think that chapter is one of the greatest chapters they made, the Killer is fun to verse and to play as and the Survivor seems to be a fan favorite, I don't see any issues with that.

As soon as the hotfix went live, my friends and I immediately went to customs to test Legion after their FOV fix.

    All I can say is:

    - The Legion's lunge is working properly again

    - The speed during Feral Frenzy is still bugged, BUT not as slow as before.

In regards to another killer bug:

-The Demogorgon's Shred attack is bugged, resulting in the lunge going half of the normal distance. Yikes

I heard something about Cannibal not having increased movement speed during saw sweeps, and haven't recently played him to clarify if that's true.

For those issues, please use the bug report section, I'm sure they will get tested.

  • Ok I managed to put the two videos together, I chose Haddonfield and I ran from one car to the other, so it's clear enough that the distance covered is the same (more or less, to be fair the clip not in Frenzy starts a bit further than the other one, but it's good enough)

    https://youtu.be/QYpKtL-DzC0

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I just tested it, without a doubt he IS moving faster in Frenzy mode.

Average travel time alongside that house in normal movement is 2.45 Seconds.

Average travel time alongside that house in frenzy movement is 2.05 Seconds

15% of 2.45 is about half a second or so; so even calculating for my trigger time with the stop watch it's absolutely faster and seems to be the correct amount faster.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBD9VV3mnuQ

So in summary, Legion isn't bugged, he just kinda sucks haha.

Thank you, I was testing it myself to be completely sure and I saw no issues, I'll try to edit the two videos I took, if I can.

  • @behave_pt said:

I dont want it and I honestly cannot stand people like you or even understand for that matter.

Race/ethnicity whatever is not the same as sexual preferences/orientations stop comparing them. There is absolutely no reason to have one because you are not just asking for someone who might be queer to be added to the game, you want a mascot. Im sure its not enough for you if Nea had a fling with another girl once. Race however is a large part of a character and there background. It literally determines what they look like. Sexual preference is not the main focus in designing new characters maybe you could give a new character a tragic backstory on not being accepted because of their sexuality but forcing it as the main trait of said character does not work in terms of cosmetics and perks. Occupation and ethnic background are the two things im sure the devs look at for new survivors. They also want to introduce a diverse cast appearance wise but again sexuality is not a factor in that. Specifically adding a "lgbtq+' character is just pandering to you guys specifically and Bhvr has never made a character with that intent.

I already explained this in my previous post and please go watch that clip.

BHVR doesn't want to make a mascot, they want to give people the representation they ask for, which means giving a character a trait that can represent them, but not define said character by just that trait.

  • Also, @TripleSteal apparently your comments kept going to the spam filter, I just manually approved you so it stops happening.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1807690#Comment_1807690

It has been; and people have done that already. A few times in fact.

There is no way to show two legions racing afaik with custom games so I am not sure what more evidence beyond what was shown already you want someone to submit. What do you want us to do to show it? What would be acceptable because the video clips so far apparently were not enough.

This kind of thing is where it would REALLY help to be allowed to go into a custom game as killer without a survivor (or vice versa) to test things; I really don't get why we are not allowed to do that.

Oh, trust me, I'd love a practice mode as much as I'd love maps to be seeded so you could test the issues, but that's above the point.

The only clip that has been shown to me about this issue is someone getting outrun by a Sprint Burst survivor and they said the Legion bug was still present, that is not enough evidence to me.

And @TripleSteal as I explained, they tested Legion and the bug was not the speed, but the FOV, which has been fixed.

  • If you really think Legion is still bugged, please do report it in the bug report section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs), would be better if you could show us evidence as well, maybe a clip that shows Legion covering the same distance in the same time both in Frenzy and not in Frenzy.

For what I know the devs tested Legion when the bug was present with their tools and saw it was just an FOV issue, while the speed was the correct value.

  • Just to be clear to everyone here, BHVR intention is not to make a token purely defined by their sexuality, I want to be perfectly clear here, so I'm going to post this clip of Not_Queen explaining what their intentions are:

    https://www.twitch.tv/deadbydaylight/clip/ExcitedSmoggyDugong4Head

Please keep in mind that people are not trying to force an idea on you, they want much needed representation and they shouldn't be attacked for wanting it.

  • I don't know the devs priorities, so I cannot tell you why one has been addressed now instead of releasing the changes together, I'm sorry.

    @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1804077#Comment_1804077

But there's a drastic power difference between these 2 items now. It's nigh useless for killers but keys can still be 4-man escapes for survivors with minimal effort. I'm not saying they're equivalent but not touching keys at the same time is a very bad idea and extremely unhealthy for the game even for perceived reasons. Now everyone is going to be using their keys as much as possible so they don't lose out like killers did with Moris, and now killers have even less response to it.

    Great change.

The scenario you are showing is something that happens really rarely, and even if I agree both moris and keys are unfun and unhealthy for the gameplay, I don't think one thing is strictly linked to the other and I don't think people will use keys more just because moris got nerfed.

  • The mori change was easier to make, since it's basically just a change of a condition. I believe nerfing the keys requires animation changes and/or addon changes, that require much more time.

  • Hello, when you want to report a bug, please check the bug report section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs) to see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise open a new report following the guidelines.

The OP made a thread complaining about how this week's rewards were mediocre.

Talking about how this is "iust the first week" implies that there are better rewards coming in the following weeks, because if there weren't, then there would be no point in informing the OP of this fact, because the OP obviously wouldn't care.

The point of my post wasn't trying to say "Wait for next week, it's going to be better" , but more "Maybe we should wait to see if the next weeks are better".

I apologize if you assumed I was trying to hype up the next week's rewards, it wasn't my intention, once again it's not an information I have, so there is no way for me to know if the rewards will improve or not.

  • Please keep it civil, we are discussing without attacking one another, there's no need to fall into insulting.

''Those are the rewards for just the first week''

By these words I can interput that something better can just happen in the next callendar weeks and as a result it makes the unnecessary hype and disappointment.

I literally only showed the calendar pointing out those were the first week's rewards, I didn't say anything about the next weeks because I do not have any information about it and I'd rather avoid giving out false information.

If you got over hyped about something I didn't say, I'm sorry, but it's not my fault.

    Thank you.

I'm not defending anyone's decisions, OP opened a thread complaining about the rewards saying it was for the entire month, I have the same information as all of you about the event and my post was more informative than anything else, you are just assuming everything I say is in bad faith.

And for the second one we get even less. Nice. Good Job.

You do realize that's not me who decides that, right?

  • A win for me is having a fun match, with good interactions, good chases, don't care if I don't kill everyone, don't care if I don't escape.

  • I'm not sure what kind of info you sent to support for the report, but for verbal abuse and slurs it's not required to submit a ticket, please refer to this thread if you need more information:

    List of bannable offenses

This is a sliding scale and determined on a case-by-case basis. If an offense is considered to be particularly egregious, the duration of the ban may skip one or more steps in this process.

Any previous permanent bans on your record will result in all future offenses being a permanent ban.

Another thing I wanted to add is that temporary bans do not show on people's profile, so assuming they got no punishment is wrong, while for those saying that they reported a hacker with proof of them cheating, I'm sure they have been taken or will be taken care of.

One last thing: the need for a naming and shaming rule is due to the fact that proof can be manufactured, especially screenshots, it's a standard rule on most discussion platforms.

  • I hope they stay, to be honest, they add some variety in loops and it could create more design space for different kinds of loops.

Wouldn't be just easier to write: It will come in one of the future's rifts instead of that?

I didn't write that tweet, so I cannot help you with that, besides it seems very clear to me.

  • As @RoboMojo said, at the moment we do not have cross progression between PS4 and PC, I'm sorry.

  • Just a small reminder to try to be constructive when you post and give actual feedback, instead of filling your thread with insults.

  • As people mentioned multiple times in this thread, the tweet clearly states the due to the community's feedback, they are going to add Claudette's outfit to A rift at A LATER DATE, they never said it would be added to the current rift.

I hope I made it clear enough.

  • Ok, this is going too far, it was funny at first but the thread has done its course.

I would pay cash money to listen to someone actually talk and explain about the coding and show what they use. Just to know. Something like that hitboxes talk would be insightful for a lot of people I think. Technical discussions can be very interesting and informative for people.

I agree, it would definitely be very interesting.

  • Please try to stay on topic, thank you.

There's a lot of wrong assumptions and it saddens me to see people bashing on me and my colleagues, forgetting we are players too, we understand and share the frustration with the community.

Why are you not posting feedback? The forum rules say that having multiple accounts is not allowed under any circumstances, but I don't think I have ever seen a moderator post feedback in any thread on their account.

We do comment and upvote feedback threads, but keep in mind we are here to work, it doesn't mean we don't give the developers our personal opinions when we can.
