Shouldn't you delete Mooks messages too, since it's "discussing bans?"

Mooks' post is not mentioning anyone, we only remove posts that break the rules.

Also please try to stay on topic.

If you read my post you see at the you side when you ban people who call them names or use extremely aggressive language it's rightfully and you should do it but when you try to silence any criticism you don't like this is where the problem and your disrespect is. You can't keep the only the good criticism and hide the bad.

I want to clarify something: criticism is not only welcome, but it's definitely needed, being it negative or positive, we do need criticism to improve.

However the way we express our criticism has a lot of importance too, some people tend to forget this and fall into insults and personal attacks directed to the developers, the moderators or other users. We do not silence people for their opinion, we are simply removing posts that break the rules, rules that are clearly stated and pinned on top of the forum's home page: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/137-forum-rules

There's also a misconception that people bring out every now and then regarding the Feedback section of the forums, saying it's where we "hide" the threads we do not like. Just to be clear, we do not have some sort of list of topics we don't like and/or "hidden sections" of the forums where we move these fabled threads, we move threads to the correct sections, if it's a feedback thread we move it to the Feedback section, if it's a lore thread then we move it to the Lore section.

There's a lot of wrong assumptions and it saddens me to see people bashing on me and my colleagues, forgetting we are players too, we understand and share the frustration with the community.

  • I want to remind you to please be civil and to avoid discussing about warns/bans, yours or of others, thank you.

  • It is a reportable offense and it should always be reported.

Smack talk is something common in multiplayer games, but it should never cross the line.

  • Bans have an escalation system, if they get banned multiple times they either learn or reach a permanent ban.

  • If you encounter situations like that, please report those players with the in-game system, so they can get punished.

  • As we explained multiple times, we do not ban for calling Victor a baby, even if he's more of an undead monster than a baby, but we do however remove from our platforms sentences that break the terms of service, like encouraging child violence.

  • If you feel like someone is insulting you or others, please do flag their post and let us take care of it, thank you.

  • From that e-mail, it simply seems like you selected the wrong category when submitting your ticket.

That said in-game reports are mandatory, no matter the offense, so try to always do that, and if you have any more concern about the game rules and how to report correctly, please check this section of the forums: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/game-rules

  • I'm sorry you encountered this issue, the team is looking into it.

  • You go to your Steam Library, right click on Dbd -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files, that should restore the original settings.

  • In tal caso il secondo bundle sembrerebbe quello più conveniente in termini di content.

Please remember that Dead by Daylight’s end user license agreement which can be found on https://deadbydaylight.com/en/eula (the “EULA”) governs your participation and use of the game and its associated upgrades, patches, and updates and related services. In case of conflict between the EULA and this page, the EULA will prevail.

Hello, good people of the fog!

We now have a team Associate Community Managers, as well as an updated in-game report system.
With your help, we will be able to find the players who are creating a bad game experience and punish them appropriately, making the game a better place.

    HOW TO REPORT A PLAYER

You may only report things that happen directly to you or in a game that you were in.
Reporting for other people is not allowed and these reports will be discarded.
(ie. Reporting someone on behalf of a friend, streamer, or other)

    Fill the In-game report

An In-game report MUST be made. This is not optional, and is a must to help us identify the person in your game as well as find any other evidence we need.

    Customer Support ticket?

    • Video evidence is required or heavily suggested for some offenses, please refer to the lists below.
    • Whilst you can report offenses directly to our support, please only do so for serious offenses like cheating, hacking, DOX/death threats.

Players who have violated our rules multiple times leading to permanent bans could get their access revoked on any accounts they make if the player is seen committing bannable offenses after the very first permanent ban. The structure and severity of these bans are followed throughout any platform.

    Abuse of Support Services

This includes making false support tickets and lying to support agents. Our agents are always here to help the community. However, those making false tickets just to get a step ahead of everyone else and take advantage hinders our ability to better help everyone. Penalties include suspension of your support services, up to a permanent ban of your in-game account.

  • Definitely Dead Dawg, I love the design of that map.

  • It's in the patch notes

  • Due to the presence of disrespectful and unnecessary comments on this thread, we decided to close it to avoid even more of them.

  • They do ban for chat harassment, depending on what's been said there's a different range of punishments, from a 24 hours ban to a permanent ban, with an escalation process as well.

You can find all the information you need about it here:

That said, referring to those commenting on this thread, please keep in mind people have different ways to react to comments and words, it's not "just words" for everyone, don't belittle people's mental health and people's sensitivity, thank you.

  • Please try to be respectful and don't make fun of those who might get upset from things like that, not everyone has the same sensitivity and we all react to things differently, depending on our own experience.

And please do avoid jokes about serious issues, thank you.

  • Hello, when you want to report a bug, please check the bug report section (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs) to see if it has been reported already and upvote it, otherwise open a new report following the guidelines.

  • I suggest to check gameplay of both and try to understand what fits your playstyle better, for what concerns me, I'd say Blight because I find it more fun to play as and against, but of course it's very subjective.

You could also argue Blight has better perks, so it's up to you.

  • We asked many times on this thread to remain civil and respectful, to avoid talking about warns and bans, especially if those do not involve you, however people still decided to go down that path and even to the point of comparing a videogame forum to Germany during the Nazism.

For these reasons we decided to close the thread.

And I want to be perfectly clear here: we don't mind constructive criticism, if anything it's welcomed, but you should never resort to analogies like that to prove your point, that's deeply disrespectful, not towards us, but towards those who suffered during those times, and you are just demeaning what they have gone through.

  • This thread has done its course, no need to add more, penalties are there to prevent people from constantly DCing.

  • I want to remind once more to avoid talking about warns or bans, yours or others', thank you.

Then why not make a clarification post about it? Clearing why the forum/dev team makes certain decisions, cause when a company makes a controversial decision against a community member, I feel it will only look bad on the companies. Take twitch banning Dr.Disrespect, as far as I'm aware twitch still hasn't said anything and it looks pretty bad on them.

We are not here to publicly shame someone for a mistake, when we punish someone, we hope they learn from their mistakes and they have numerous chances to learn, there would be no need to have this conversation if people did that.

Thanks. In theory, you are right of course, and this is not neccessarily directed towards you. Recent events lead me to believe otherwise when it comes to practice, though.

Keep in mind you only see part of the truth, people don't get "surprisingly banned", they break the rules a certain amount of times before that happens, or they don't get banned for nothing, sometimes they omit part of the truth to make it look like they are in the right.

Also harsher punishments we apply don't usually come from a decision of a single person, there's a thought process behind and there's a discussion in the team to decide if it's the right call or not.

  • I just want to clarify something: people tend to get very passionate about their opinion and about their words, which is fine, but the issues start when this line gets crossed and they fall into insulting.

Constructive criticism is completely fine, but insults and personal attacks are not, and this is where the misconception starts: we do not punish people for their opinion or their criticism, but at the same time we cannot ignore people purposely insulting while explaining their position.

  • I want to remind everyone to please keep the thread respectful, without shaming others.

I'm glad to see people mentioning and thanking other users, sometimes people tend to forget this platform is about the community.

  • Closed as asked.

  • If that happened, it was probably a bug and they should've reported it.

No changes to the RBT have been made in while.

  • Blight just wanted a hug 😪

  • Enduring for killer and for survivor I'd say Desperate Measures, I'm really enjoying running it lately.

  • Some bugs take more time than others to be fixed, I wouldn't jump to conclusions simply based on a bugfix patch.

  • The icon you are talking about is something to show the second offense on our escalation process, called jail, it's a week without being able to open new threads.

You can find all the info about the escalation process in this post: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87004/forum-rules#latest

  • If want to discuss a moderator decision with them, the best thing to do is contacting them on their wall.

About the issues you have with the game, if you find a bug please check this section of the forum https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs to see if it has been already reported and upvote it, otherwise file a proper report following the guidelines.

  • Please try to keep the discussion civil and respectful, only because someone has a different opinion it doesn't mean they are a troll.

Also please keep in mind that when you open a thread you are open to receive criticism, try to discuss with these people, no need to tell them to leave or to belittling their opinion.
