In those cases, you need to hit the unhooker and go AROUND/ignore the unhooked guy with BT.
I clearly said 'where the BT protected survivor will body block.' Killers are on the clock. Every second wasted is crucial. Yes, you can go around, but you waste time doing so, time you may not have to waste. When a BT survivor can stop a killer, because they know they're invulnerable, there is a problem.
Hitting the BT survivor, again, wastes time. Those three seconds allow the savior time to get to a loop, or jungle gym, or pallet, etc. So, now you sent the BT survivor off to safety, and the savior just escaped. Simply because a perk allows it. That is not okay.

borrowed time is only op for tuneling or camping killers
So, what happens when I just hook somebody, and don't even have time to leave the area before *SOUND NOTIFICATION* of an unhook, where the now BT protected survivor will body block the narrow space, guarding their savior. Or they'll proceed to chase me as I chase their savior, knowing they have 20 seconds of invulnerability to hamper my progress, be it body blocking, standing in a narrow space which forces me to go around, or camping a pallet. This is normal play here, not a rare occurrence.
BT is not okay. It allows for very stupid plays, because those plays are safe.
If anything, BT should have tickets, or tokens. Certain actions, say healing for instance, would give tokens. One would need to be expended when going for the unhook while in a terror radius. Damage to a BT survivor should be reflected onto the savior, or at least a debuff of some kind. BT should not be a 'get out of jail free' card as it is now. It needs some kind of risk involved, to cultivate a more cautious and thought out playstyle around it.

45 hours is nothing my guy, it takes a while to get anywhere near gud.
Correct. Which means he should NOT be going against red ranks, moreso against a SWF. This is on the devs, their poor matchmaking, and their sluggish pace to do ANYTHING helpful. Look how long it took them to fix toolboxes (and even there, I feel they went the wrong way), and heaven forbid, god loops. Now we're approaching a year on this matchmaking, and still we get 'new MMR in the works.'
If you have only a few dozen hours, you shouldn't be put against the cream of the crop. Doing so isn't good for any new player, and will simply push players away.
-
Unfortunately, this isn't a rare occurrence. Not only are skilled survivors the power role, that is tripled with SWF, something the devs either refuse to, or can't, find a way to balance out. The matchmaking is makes that even worse. Far worse.
Devs have a new MMR system in the works, but honestly, I don't see it doing anything. Sure, it'll 'seem' to fix things after it's settled, but give it a few months after, and SWF will unbalance it again. We'll be right back here.
DbD is one of the most toxic gaming experiences out there. The upside is that if you can stomach it, you'll be able to stomach anything. The downside is, well, it's extremely toxic. That itself is a downside. The 4v1 mentality brings out the bully in people, especially when you're with a group of your buddies and can trounce one guy. Again, not a rare occurrence. You'll find defenders of SWF claiming 'we just want to have fun with our friends,' which is usually at the killers expense.
So, you can either power through it, get better, and attempt to shrug off this toxic behavior you're going to come into time and time again, or move on to another game. DbD has an enjoyable playstyle, which is where most of use come to in order to play it out, but it's burdened by poor choices on the balance team, slow updates, a faulty MMR, and, of course, SWF.

@Divine_Confetti Thank you. I missed this. But, seeing as it's the 25th for me, abit 1:30 am, and I only have the hat, I guess it's at a certain time for the jacket to unlock?
-
So far, I'm having an okay time with Enduring, PoP, I'm All Ears, and Sloppy.
-
For me, it's BBQ, Infectious, PGTW, and a filler. Thana is a decent pick. Blood Echo and Dying light also. Brutal Strength could come in handy.

So thats entirely your fault. Better learn how to play killer instead of using false excuses for your lack of skill.
Same can be said for survivors about 'tunneling.' Better learn how to loop instead of using false excuses for your lack of skill.

@LetsPlayTogether said:
Learn to play killer properly. Issue solved. I dont understand why so many killer players dont want to learn how to play properly and instead just ruin other players experience. Its not that hard.
'Play properly,' as in, play by your rules. No thank you.
OP, play as you see fit. As a killer, your objective is to kill. Do that as you see fit, and when survivors throw a tantrum over you not 'playing properly,' you know you're doing your job well.

So you feel the devs need to add a feature to satisfy your curiosity?
Sure, why not? There is a difference between solo and SWF. It would be a nice step toward making that difference shown, so that the really good solo players can get credit, instead of being lumped with SWF.
I'd also want an increase in solo/killer rewards for SWF involvement, but that's a discussion for another thread.
-
@andyollolloll My 'question' was to be taken at face value, as a counter point to the previous post I was responding to. Nor do I see how it 'derails' your post, since it agrees with your original statement.
The only real answer would be that the devs pretend SWF doesn't exist. Hence, no real push at any form of balance outside one perk change. If they ignore it, they don't have to do anything about it, such as post game SWF icons.

Because why does it matter if they are friends or playing together what harm does that really do to you?
I want to know if I was facing a solid group of solos, or a group using the SWF crutch to play the game. What harm does it do you for killers/solos to know who's who?
-
Remember, doing gens is now akin to cheating, by your logic. For shame.
Plus, 'putting on blast,' or naming/shaming, is against forum rules. Not to mention we have to go by 'your' definition of camping/tunneling, while being unable to see the other side.
-
Maybe because a new killer just dropped, and more people are trying to play him?
Also, time of day. For me, I find that if I try and play after noon, I have long wait times, but when I play after seven, I get queues popping in a few seconds.
-
When do survivors get punished for camping gens?

what is sfw ? sorry if its a stupid question im really new to the game so im still learning
Survive With Friends. The mode that lets you group with your friends and use Discord, or another third party voice coms program.
-
The game wasn't designed with voice communication in mind. It's why SWF is so unbalanced.
-
Doesn't a global play when he cages somebody?
-
The long hallways with their god pallets that can extend chases by an additional 60 seconds, to the rooms where the killer is forced to break walls in order to even create a route to survivors, to only having four routes between floors over the incredibly spaced out generators that take minutes of a killers time to patrol?
Mhmm, killer sided indeed.
I won't deny that the map isn't bad for survivors as well, but to claim it's killer sided? No.
-
Thanks for posting this, but man, does it make me salty.
The answers for Trail of Torment and the Clown. . . how how out of touch are these devs?
-
Those blinks were on point, my god. . .
But yeah, as said, the devs said it isn't anti tunnel. I just figure they didn't account for how strong it would be after the change.
-
The new map shows good and bad with breakable walls. For instance, there's a set in the corner of the map which opens a new route upstairs. That's good, especially on a map with such poor design.
But then you have rooms where you MUST break the walls in order to get to survivors on the first floor. That's a poor use for them. Breakable walls should be secondary, not mandatory.
-
What if, instead of an aura, you simply give a sound notification when the perk is activated? Like somebody missing a skill check on the gen. Survivors are notified that something occurred there, but aren't sure what.

Since when is Demo not an A tier? And I would argue that PH is below Demo in terms of reliability and usability of their powers.
Since forever? He's B tier at best. His portals are unreliable, his lunge is best for bait, and his addons are in serious need of a rework.
-
B. Above Demo, below Doc. Which is funny, seeing as he appears to be a hybrid of both.

I know. So why are you to ask them to justify the stats when we both know they can't literally go in and view all of the games to get that answer.
My original question was concerning why they couldn't divulge more. It just hits a sore spot when they say they have info, but won't share it. So, 'why' can't it be shared. NDA?

Wrong question. Whatever answer they give you would be speculation from a statistic they just told you.
Everything is speculation unless hard evidence is shown. Don't want speculation, show numbers that point to A, B, and C. Simply saying something without backing it up is speculation in itself.

When I look at the average number of kills for Legion, it's right in the middle. They're not the best, they're not the worst. This is across all maps, all ranks. That's as much detail as I can go into on this.
Why?
-
It does look better. My only real issue is that you need to buy the whole thing, not just individual parts. And you can't mix and match with the original.
-
Is it me, or did they increase the flick? While aiming, it's slow, but when I let go, the half second after letting go and before firing, the sensitivity becomes 400%. I've missed a few hits because it just veers a few degrees further than it felt it should.
-
I'm just in shock you put in that many matches today. I mean, my god. I put in three, maybe four a night before hanging it up. Just how strong are your kidneys?
-

I watched Zubat play today and he pointed out something;
you can hold W on the 2nd floor and just run laps around and the killer will take and obsurd amount of time to catch up.
thats before actually using loops
This. And then you have the pallets placed in them with no mindgame. So even when you manage to catch up, they can drop a pallet, forcing you to break it, and start it all over again.
-
Only had the opportunity to play it once, but it did leave a sour taste in my mouth. My issue is how many corridors and rooms don't have loops, just pallets thrown in that you are forced to break. Can't mindgame them in any way.
Then the exit gates. I don't know if it was rng, but both gates had a pallet loop in front of them. Seriously?
-
Just saw one of Tru3's uploads today, and he pointed out an Adam was making no sounds while on the ground. So, it's still there.
-
That's your opinion, not 'the truth.'
At the very least, you can give him a week to settle a bit, give people time to find monster builds for him. Or you can make assumptions over a few games and call it a day.
-
Wallhack. Lol. You realize they added a second to his ranged attack, yet? If you can dodge it, which isn't that difficult, you then have three seconds to scuttle off. Bait it, get your rescue, move on.
-
I got adept. Used cages twice.
-
Sounds like you want the killer to walk to the other side of the map and wait for a rescue.
-
Pull out my perkless Bubba. As in, Bubba with no perks, no addons. If I win, well, they lost to a worthless Bubba. If they win, well, it's a worthless Bubba. Shame in both scenarios.
-
I've seen others suggest Monitor, but I don't see the point. He's so tall. Much like Plague, Monitor would only be good in indoor maps, where height isn't much of an issue.
I do want to see how powerful I'm All Ears is on him, though.
-
I don't. Find the exit gate, and stand in the corner with your back to the map, so they don't get chase bonus. Alt tab and watch some cat videos. Keep an eye on it, though, so that the moment all gens pop, you can open the gate yourself. I actually relish the salt they throw at the end about me 'wasting their time.' No need to put yourself on the chopping block for their benefit.
-
Virtue signaling, in the hopes of getting a bigger audience. Fails most of the time, since the audience they aim for doesn't actually care, but o well.
-
Seeing a sweaty team in lobby, pulling out an AFK Wraith, and watching them rage in post game chat about me not giving them a play toy.

Exactly, it makes no difference, so why are some people getting all worked up about this?
I 'think' it's because of the bad rep small parts of the LGBT community have developed. Namely, the people that make their entire life revolve around their sexuality. As if being of a certain sexuality is ALL their life is about, and everybody should be the same.
Nothing against anybodies sexuality. Who you're attracted too is your business, but what hole you stick something into shouldn't be somebodies entire persona. Thus, when tweets like this pop out, it makes others worried that any characters created with a certain sexuality will be their entire backstory.
Not to say there aren't people that are homophobic, or resistant to change. I'm sure there are. Just my two cents.
But from a game play perspective it won't matter. Unless you get the toxic player that claims you moried them because they're gay.
-
Hurray, this or that character is gay.
I'm still going to mori you. What does it matter?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/160265/leatherface-toxicity
Last time I played leatherface some cheeky survivor teabagged me at pallet drop three times so I facecamped him in the basement. I thought revving my chainsaw would communicate to the other Survivors they were free to complete the gens, but instead they decided to screw around so I 4k'd them. I didn't camp the others, not for a second, but they still gave me a lot of salt at the end. 😚
See, I don't understand this. I get if you're using Insidious, there's room for error in the early game, but when you're revving your chainsaw for everybody to hear, and they still prioritize a save over gens, well, they're just asking for it.
My assumption is that they want to belittle the killer (more than usual, of course). They make the willful choice to give a camping killer the 4k, but it MUST be the killers fault that they made that choice.
-
Whispers and M&A is a really nasty combo, since you know when to crouch, thus saving you travel time.
-
Bud, the license owner and director is a convicted pedo. BHVR won't deal with him.
IF the rights were sold, however? Heck yeah, I'd like Jeepers in the game. But until then, it's a pipe dream. Jason has more of a chance of being ingame than Jeepers does right now.
-
Second chance perks, from BT to NOED, encourage bad habits and limit player creativity and skill.
-
If I see TTV, I pull out my perkless Bubba. If I win, we'll, that's just embarrassing to them. If I lose, it's a perkless Bubba.
