Realistically they are just going to fix the perk in the Gf hotfix and not ban anyone.
-
Personally I give Mcote enough credit to believe he understands the very obvious response his Twitter reply to Netflix would have. There is exactly one thing BHVR fans have been asking for it to come to Dbd forever. Thus that’s the obvious direction for any hype to go in.

The Clown's power takes more effort than it's worth. Throwing bottles slows you down which defeats the purpose of using them, and reloading takes precious time that you could be using for something else
Plague seems good on paper, but survivors can completely deny half of her power (corrupt purge) just by not cleansing. Although they will be broken if they don't cleanse, they still move at full speed and they can still easily loop since her regular power does nothing to help in a chase
Throwing bottles means they have to throw the pallet down immediately or take a hit. You know...... rather than loop it 3-4 times before throwing it down.
Throwing bottles also interrupts an unhook or opening a door if you land a direct hit. And you can zone off areas with it as well, since they lose a significant amount of movement speed the entire time they are in the gas, plus 2 seconds after they leave it. Way less distance traveled than the slight slow down from tapping the button.
Oh and the gas means they can't do a fast vault anymore, meaning a well timed bottle is a free hit on some window loops.
And did I mention this amazing power also has add-ons available? Because it does.

Luck offerings are confusing because I'm not sure if some things are weighted with luck (as well as the numbers).
For example, you may get the full benefit of a luck offering on bear traps, but not on hooks because they are more game changing.
Luck offerings give a straight 1%, 2%, or 3% additional chance to unhook yourself and/or escape from a bear trap. That is it.
-
Real Talk: I got Adept Ghostface by never using the Stalk part of the power. I two hit everyone. <- It was still much closer than I would have liked. The adept trophies are butt right now.
-
The Clown's bottles are a godsend on quite a large number of pallet loops. That is before we start talking about all the implications of direct hits, zoning, etc. that you can do with them. @Leatherbilly I sincerely believe you just haven't seen someone really good playing clown. Go watch some of Tydetyme's older videos where he explains what he's doing with the character and you'll see he's a lot better than you are giving him credit for.
-
If everyone on the survivor team has to have it turned on; then I don't see a problem with it. The killer shouldn't get too upset with a rank 15 showing up in their game lol.
Personally I would enable this all the time as killer. I play against those people anyways, so there's no reason not to lol.

It's particularly frustrating now as Ghostface's is #########.
His perks are garbage that do almost nothing in the match, even less for him than most killers.
ALSO his power grants exposed, so due to the abysmal way killer emblems work, it's an active detriment to use his power as it lowers chases and hits, costing you emblem points.
It took me a tonne of matches to find a squad of people bad enough, and a favourable enough map, just to not get gens done so early as to make it impossible.
I didn't stalk at all when I got it. I just wandered around and surprise attacked people. If I had one hit downed anyone that game, I would not have gotten the trophy. It was that close lol. Had 3 Iridescents and silver evader with no room for error on anything.
You basically have to get a 4K, get 9+ hooks, double M1 everyone on each of those hooks, lose little to no chases, and prevent them from doing gens long enough to get Iridescent Lightbringer. Even then it's a very close call whether or not you'll get it. I really do miss the old system where all you had to do was 4K. It was still way harder than the survivor trophies, but it didn't require a near perfect game.
-
Sometimes PWYF doesn't lose its tokens when you commit an aggressive action. I haven't tested it so I don't know the exact circumstances.
The Legion add-ons basically force you to mend so long that you might as well go down.

I'm flattered, but it is my job to come around, talk to you guys, and bring your feedback to the team. Actual insults aside, we do recognize that the fact that people stick around and complain about things is because they're passionate about the game. You wouldn't take the time to type out lengthy, detailed feedback for a game you don't like day after day, you'd just uninstall it and move on. Even if the feedback is negative, it's awesome to have a community full of people to stick around and let you know what they don't like.
Thank you for the kind words, though, I'll be sure to share with the team!
For better or worse, there are quite a lot of community managers who do not do as good of a job as you do. Just because it's your job doesn't mean people can't appreciate you doing a good job.

For instance, Legion's addons do the exact opposite of Wake Up.
Play With Your Food is also not necessarily losing its tokens properly.
If they keep this up I'm going to have to run perkless lol.
-
I understand people are upset; but there are now so many of these threads that I actually cannot keep up with all of them.
-
I've gotten all the Adept achievements. The two I've gotten under the current system are probably in the top five hardest killer adepts I've had to deal with. The other 3 were Nurse, Freddy, and OG (aka 2 years ago) Wraith.
-
I unlocked and was using Thanataphobia III on Ghostface yesterday because I had no idea it was bugged; and it was one of the only Tier 3 perks I had on him. Now that I found that out today, I will not use it anymore, but I'm not sure how I would have realized it was bugged without coming to the forums.

has already responded to this multiple times. They are looking into it.

Yes. And much more other stuff too. Very chaotic at the moment.

Survivors has to run Self-Care or atleast one exhaustion perk. So no.
Survivors have to be able to loop and hit great skill checks. Perks are just a bonus.
-
Being completely honest: I consider bbq plus 2 chase perks to be mandatory on most killers. The 4th slot is the only one I get to move around usually; so I tend to avoid taking either.
-
Bhvr should make a good faith announcement lol. Some completely innocent people would get banned otherwise; and even one is too many.

that's the point? if you wait it out it's slowed the game down, and if you move to inner generators then the killer has an easier time of finding you
it's much more reliable than ruin and it works against players of any skill caliber, meaning people can't just work through it
Waiting it out only benefits the killer if they can setup or reliably find someone. It’s invaluable on a hag. It barely does anything on a huntress.
As for moving in to the inner gens, that’s only makes them easier to find if you don’t go looking for them at the outer gens. You basically have to guess right; with the best case being you start a chase immediately which you should be doing anyways.
The perk is mainly good on killers who can patrol the inner gens while setting amps or the hose which hi can I can immediately someone at an outer game an outer gen like the Doctor.
stupid autocorrect
-
Corrupt Interventions is one of the best perks on Trapper and Hag. I would rather they make a brand new perk than nerf those two by making this change.
-
I think only your option s A and B would be good ideas; and even then you’d have to only be able to face opponents of a minimum rank based on yours. It would be unfair for a rank 1 to be able to randomly play against rank 20s unless the 20s opted in.
-
Furtive Chase only reduces your terror radius in a chase. There is no way for you to reliably be in a chase but more than 16 meters away from the survivor. This ignores the tokens mechanics on the perk that make it too hard to activate.
-
@spookyface said:
So what's the bug and why is it game breaking?
You do everything 15% faster. To both questions.

I think they’ve done a pretty good job so far.

BBQ isn't unhealthy. It has a lot of counters and encourages fun gameplay

@KillermainBTWm8 said:
The perk is useless at R1 on PC, so much so it isn't even worth running cause everyone can do greats
Every time you get a hex skill check; that is 1.6 seconds of bonus progress you do not get.
-
Gen rush is real lol
-
@miaasma said:
not really, they are both good for game delaying. one of them can't be spawned on and cleansed immediately though
Corrupt Intervention is mainly useful for getting setup time. Survivors tend to hide when it’s used which often has the effect of the game just starting 2 minutes later. Ruin does not cause survivors to hide in the same way, do which is better depends on the killer.
-
@miaasma said:
highly recommend running corrupt intervention over ruin
They perform different functions.

So Wake Up is making all actions 15% faster?
Most of them yes

Wth is Wake Up doing?
15 percent faster gens healing and vaulting for entire game.

Doc has always been forgotten. When was the last time 'ol sparky got any proper changes.
They nerfed snapping out of it back to a non healing action so people would stop complaining so much about nurses calling vs deep wounds.

Of course. It’s 3.0.0.0
Changing the first number requires them to go all out.

@Warlock_2020 said:
Agreed that it needs fixing asap, or just suspend the perk until it's fixed.
That said, it is funny that it happened to a perk that is hardly ever used. It is a waste of a slot to load up that perk, until it gets bugged. Thus why you could suspend the perk (grey it out) and nobody would really care except someone trying to adept that character. I don't think I even bought that character because it was all around useless.
They could hotfix the value to zero instead of disabling it.
-
If they did ban for this it would be totally deserved imo. This crosses the line of simple common decency and sportsmanship if you are using it at this point and weren’t before.
-
I never said it’s legit. I said they can’t afford to ban 1 in 4 people playing the game. The unfortunate state of reality is that too many people seem to be using it atm.
-
@tehshadowman33 said:
The only things that needs to be fixed:
- Decrease time it takes to switch from Punishment mode to Treatment mode and vice versa down to 0.25 seconds.
- Increase the shock range without addons to 12m. Nerf the percentages on range increasing addons to compensate for this buff to Doctor's default range.
- When using shock in treatment mode, Doctor moves at 110% movement speed.
- Nerf the time that survivors are stunned (cannot perform any actions) by shock to 1.5 seconds.
Doctor already moves 110 in treatment.
-
The most optimal build I play for doc that doesn’t take 30 years to win is whispers bbq overcharge unnerving. The strategy is to get everyone to Tier 2 madness then defend a 3 gen. Still takes 25 minutes some games.
-
The Doctor has one good build that makes games take 45 minutes. The rest of the time he is awful; but they don’t want to buff that one build. And that one build is something people can’t do well with at red ranks.
-
They won’t ban everyone using it. Losing a third of the survivor player base would be awful.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
I find it pretty hilarious that the popular opinion of killer mains is that Ruin is cleansed seconds into the match most of the time and yet, at the same time, it is "required" to play killer.
Every hex skill check the survivors get is 1.6 seconds added to the gen timer while Ruin is up; and good skill checks are 4 seconds. Getting a good skill check while no gens have been done adds roughly 400 points towards the killer’s gatekeeper emblem. Hex Ruin is easy emblem progress.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
It's not.
Ruin is the only thing you can run that greatly increases your gatekeeper. It’s basically gatekeeper emblem the perk. You don’t have to run it, but it is very very good.
-
I put Hag two tiers above Clown in that post soooo
The Clown throws a projectile in an arc with an area of effect. If used properly it’s basically a free hit. Most of your hatchet prediction skills should transfer over, and it’s basically a ranged killer, so huntress is the closest point of reference I had
-
The Hag and Clown are the only viable killers out of the ones listed. Hag is mid high tier and Clown is high mid tier. I enjoy the Clown more but both are good options. Hag is more of a defensive 3 gen killer while Clown plays like huntress with arcing projectiles.

That's interesting. The team has a way of telling who is using what perks, but do they have a way of disabling seriously bugged perks until they're fixed?
They probably have logging code in place already to get statistics. That is difference from a hotfix.
-
@Dehitay said:
Survivor queues have been pretty long this morning too. I'm pretty sure the primary culprit is the system that forces players to wait for a full group before a lobby is made, but then doesn't have a full group when a lobby is made. But reverting it to instant lobbies would be too obvious a solution.
Yeah the new matchmaking made times noticeably longer before the weekend even began. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are responsible.
