Am I only one who wants to see sth from SCP? (SCP-280 or 106 I think)
Or Tall Man from Phantasm lel
I think Tall Man would actually be a pretty popular character that would get people to watch those movies. I mean he IS the inspiration for Slenderman, which a lot of people (sometimes jokingly) suggest too due to that character's popularity.

I would like to just take a moment to thank the people who have contributed to the thread so far. This has been an amazing thread with a lot of really cool ideas; which is what I wanted to see when I originally made it. Keep 'em coming lol.
------------
I think Distortion would be a lot better if it was on cooldown of some length to be determined. Something more than 3 uses throughout the game, but still not so spammable that it makes you completely invisible. My original idea was 60 seconds, but I'm honestly not sure what kind of cooldown would work on this.
The other idea I had is that Distortion could start out with say 2 or 3 tokens and then give you another token every so often as a reward for doing some action (again tbd). Thus you could gain uses for it throughout the match by trying to do so. The action could be completing a gen, doing a safe unhook, taking a protection hit, etc. Just something that would make it so that you don't lose it completely after the 3rd proc.
-
There is probably no chance of that one happening. That movie is actually pretty controversial.
-
It's not that bad. They take too long to do everything, but the devs have been pretty consistent about eventually getting around to dealing with most of the major problems that the game has.
I mean this year we are getting map redesigns, dedicated servers, a story mode, 4 new chapters, matchmaking improvements, optimization, a freddy rework, and more. Yeah ghostface is going to take a while to fix; but they will eventually fix him. The main problem I ever have with Bhvr is they just take soooooo long to do some of these things; but better late than never.

Could you imagine turning around to see the grudge stalking you? Would be way worse than Myers.

Well I finally found something on a transcript of one of the devstreams. It may not be real because people can always lie about what the devs said, but the last time they were asked about Jason they supposedly said:
"No... not yet! I mean he'd just fit right in!" and "Sometimes when licensing characters we have licensors who are not so interested but then we have licensors who are super interested but their characters don't necessarily work within our universe and so it's a conversation."
I know Not Queen also said during the Year 2 that Jason always has an open invitation to join the game, so I am under the impression that the devs would certainly add him if they got the reasonable chance.
I was thinking of asymmetrical horror games when I said that and forgot about MKX.
It's disingenuous to compare one of the easily top 10 slasher icons of all time to Spongebob. People want Chucky because of his iconic status in the genre.
You nailed it on the head. This is one of those ideas that everyone really likes up until we start discussing SWF and everyone's like "well that sucks then."
-
The game doesn't have enough players to sustain two separate modes. And to be blunt, a lot of killers would only pick the anti-SWF mode.

I love hearing newbies and people who got no clue about this game talking about balance xd
"remove the survivors ability to stop his stalk". LMAO. Let's have a permanent exposed status on anyone at the beginning of the game ;d
They would have to put some other limit on it like "can't stalk in a chase". But it would feel a lot better if it was a condition the killer could work towards meeting/preventing than something the survivors have way too much control over.
-
I'm no longer on a phone, so I can explain a bit better.
Old Friday the 13th, including "classic" Jason, is currently owned by 3 separate entities and makes the Scream license look easy to get by comparison. There is currently little to no chance they get to make the older Jasons into a DBD character unless 3 separate groups all decide they can make enough money off of it to stop being stubborn. Unlikely.
The 2009 Remake Jason on the other hand, while not being the Jason everyone wants the most, is a less complicated affair that they could theoretically get their hands on. But it's just as likely/unlikely as a whole bunch of other horror icons.

I don't think they'll get Jason cuz he's already have his own game, if they DO, that's gonna cost a lot of money for just a character
Movie rights are complicated. No one has made a game with the remake Jason’s yet.
-
Pinhead, Chucky, and the remake Jason are the biggest licenses left.
-
The license holder did some bad things. Let’s just leave it at that.

I meant Jeepers Creepers stupid autocorrect

Keepers Creepers is the one franchise they said they would never do.

I kinda just preferred this original way where blood points was the determining factor.
I can get 15k+ bp without trying. What would you even set the value at?
-
Honestly you should just get points for hooks and sacrifices. Add in a camping penalty and call it a day. Keeps the 10 hooks 4 sacrifices goal in tact without all the arbitrary problems chaser and gatekeeper cause.
-
They can fix it after launch also, so why shouldn’t they let people who want to play the weaker version in the meantime?

When I survive I like to be a potato so other amazing godly survivors can really show their stuff.
When I play survivor I try’s to get tunneled.

Being a killer on PS4 is very stressful. My secret to success is that I ready up immediately and don’t pay attention to the lobby. Then I ignore pips and whack survivors with blunt objects until I get me points. It’s quite therapeutic.
-
I play killer on ps4. We don’t even have to wait very long for lobbies on release dlc days.
-
Why not try the other role?
-
It fluctuates back and forth based on various factors. The only time the game has ever had a serious problem was back when the Halloween chapter released.
-
When I play Plague, I run perks to end chases faster. Why is BBQ, Bamboozle, Enduring combo Plague bad?
-
Monstrous Shrine currently sees no use because it only subtracts 5.4 seconds per hook phase, the other changes might as well not exist, and it’s only basement hooks. It would not be good off it was all hooks.
-
Also thinking about it, there is a major balance issue where the threat of Noed is usually the only strategic reason to cleanse dull totems.
-
@scerckan said:
a good killer doesn't need this crippled player perk, only trash killers who doesn't know how to put pressure on the gens and spend half of the match eating pallets allow this thing to happen
On some maps with some killers, especially m1 killers, it is not realistic to expect the killer to always prevent the gens from being done. Haddonfield would be my personal prime example. Noed is an insurance policy that gives m1 killers a chance to still make big plays during end game collapse.
-
I don’t personally find it frustrating on a good killer, but I do find it frustrating on a bad killer. I think it’s a necessary evil right now that should get changed once the game becomes more balanced.
-
Noed used to be two minutes after the last gen was done and got changed to a hex totem. I do not personally believe it would be any less frustrating at the game’s beginning, and it might even be a bit snowbally.
-
They got removed iirc because they are no longer supported in the new engine. It seems like this would be a ton of work.
-
It will come out today or Monday if one does come out. It’s rare to see major changes on a weekend.

WGLF for sure. Just make it the equivalent of BBQ, a perk which gives points plus a decent other thing, probably something related to saving or healing a teammate.
I would not consider that underused. At least one survivor runs it in most of my games. The idea behind the thread is how would you give a little love to a perk you rarely see.

Make Wake Up, actually wake you up.
How would that work? Would you just never go to sleep?

Personally, when I play killer, I always run BBQ and Chili because of the BP bonus. I'm not running it for the aura, but that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore it when making gameplay decisions.
If I see 3 auras in the distance, I assume it's a bad idea to camp. If I don't see ANY auras, I assume it's a great idea to camp. Anything in between is a value proposition based on who I can see, how altruistic the survivors have been so far in that game, how badly I need to get a kill to try and slow the game down, ;how fast my particular killer can cross the map (I almost always leave the hook as Hillbilly or Nurse for example if i see ANY auras), etc.
If all 3 of the other survivors are hiding behind a gen or in a lock, well then it sucks to be me and it sucks to be the person on the hook. That is not the LIKELY reason I'm not seeing any auras, so I'm going to rely on the more likely assumption that someone is within 40m waiting for me to leave, so I should start looking for them. That occupies 2-3 survivors instead of giving a free unhook. I
Camping is not fun for the person on the hook, but BHVR needs to balance their game already. My personal philosophy on this issue, even when I'm the survivor being camped (which I play roughly 50/50 so I frequently am lol), is "Don't hate the player. Hate the game!" This is something they should have fixed a long time ago, instead of doing all these band-aid fixes that never really work.

The potential problem with buffing We're Gonna Live Forever is that they would risk altering the meta in a bad way. The perk rewards and has always rewarded bad game-play decisions. When it is "too meta", it encourages survivors to be overly altruistic instead of ..... well surviving. When the perk originally gave triple BP instead of double BP, it was extremely frustrating for a whole bunch of people, and that's why it got nerfed. Making it too reliable to get the stacks might risk having the same sort of effect.
If they just added healing to the perk, it would not at all encourage smart altruism. Which imo is what the perk should do. In my opinion, the perk does need a change, because it encourages people to hook farm their teammates too much, but I would much rather they reworked how survivors got the BP bonus instead of just buffing it. It would be nice if it was changed to be some sort of meta healing/hit-taking perk and unhooks weren't part of the equation. Because bad unhooking has always been the problem with the perk.

Some people don't like the trapper's power because it takes a lot of time and effort to down people with it.
Some people don't like the nurse's power because of the stun.
Some people don't like playing the Hag because she can easily be looped without help from her power due to the 110% movement speed.
Some people don't like playing the Pig because the time-wasting bonuses of her power aren't very obvious from moment to moment, so it feels like the power does nothing.
Some people don't like playing the Doctor because his power is non-lethal and requires you to actively waste your own time in a chase.
The Legion has all of those problems, and more. They also can't see scratch marks, and their power has depletion downsides built in to make it even harder to use. They have their own upsides, and I personally do not believe they are anywhere near as bad as Freddy, but the Legion has a whole bunch of downsides in their power that actively annoy people on already existing killers.
Because Legion didn't shake up the meta, there is nothing currently to offset all of the downsides to playing them for a lot of players. The parkour is fun, and I personally like playing as the Legion, but I can understand why a lot of people are getting frustrated when they try to use them.
There is also a dimension where the Legion just doesn't "feel" that lethal compared to a lot of already existing options, and for the more competitively minded players where winning == fun, this new killer does not have much to offer.
On the survivor side of things, the Legion isn't very fun to play against currently, and they also haven't shaken up the Nurse/Billy meta, so for a lot of (but not all) mid to high rank survivors this killer is at best "meh" to go against after the initial honeymoon period. It's not really that fun, for me personally, to play against a killer who can ignore pallets and windows at will while also being very easy to play; and I've yet to play against a good Legion player who won't force you to go down eventually. Yes, they will get gen-rushed in the meantime, but the current predominant playstyle seems to be one survivor getting tunneled while the others play M1 simulator. People are definitely not playing the killer optimally, but being honest the killer might not be that fun for a lot of people to play optimally.

If I remember correctly, one of the devs posted on here that they had extensively tried it with 115% movement speed. They decided it was too easy and too fast to catch a survivor after manually canceling your power right on top of them. I think? they also tried it without the stun and without the Deep Wounds effect too.
