  • If NOED got nerfed:

    • There would be almost no reason to cleanse dull totems.
    • The end game would be significantly more boring.

The entire reason it exists is to A) force survivors to care about dull totems and B) force survivors to still fear the killer during the EGC. This is why completely ignoring dull totems and continuing to complain about something that isn't a problem hasn't gotten it nerfed yet; and this is why it's probably not getting nerfed any time soon.

  • The entire point of prestige is that it should be optional with a minimal bonus. Thus this would not happen.

  • No seriously. Instead of making a complicated system that forces people to prestige; just reduce the overall grind. Easy peazy.

  • They should just hire a tuba player to follow stealth killers around.

So getting punished for raising in rank? And there are no high rank games, with this matchmaking it is very common to get a mix of red, purple and green ranks in the same game. You would have to apply that individually meaning punished for ranking up. Even more incentive to de-rank.

The nerf in healing that killers wanted resulted in people just rushing the gens instead. They even created a killer (plague) that turns every round into a no mither no heal round. Original Legion was same way - though there is reason to heal against him now.

No. Just punished for being injured at any rank. This effects higher ranks more bc they currently forego healing more.

  • Just make bloodwebs smaller and remove perk tiers.

  • @Victor_hensley said:

They should make changes in the match depending on ranks. There is a lot to consider but the most basic is that lower ranks should have long and/or more loops, while higher ranks should have smaller and/or less loops, but that is on the top of my head

You have 2 ranks 20 survivors and 2 rank 1 survivors playing against a rank 10 killer. How would this work in that example?

  • Th best build I have for legion is sloppy bbq bloodhound Franklin. You either snowball or you lose lol

  • Echoing above sentiments; the main thing they could do to slow down high rank games without punishing low ranks would be to give you a big action speed penalty to gens for staying injured. If people had to heal then games would slow down a lot. Low ranks always heal anyways so doesn’t effect them.

  • I love it when people butcher the stats their own stats at the beginning of their own rant lol.

  • Both Adrenaline and NOED are end game perks that suitably reward players in the end game for being down a perk all game. Neither one is an issue; and both survivors and killers who complain about them need to git gud .

it's over 100$ at this point, if you include the game and all Chapters and paragraphs. And their is no end in sight as far as I'm aware.

Over 3 years that is underpriced. Should be at least $140.

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

    @Chaotic_Riddle I agree.

I also agree with some of what the others have said too. I am just wondering if nerfing is the right avenue. In order to create balance, you can't just nerf, nerf, and nerf some more. There are other ways. For example, a potential work-around for MoM would have been to allow killers to have a built-in chance to critical hit, thus cutting through MoM and BT type perks. Would not always work, but for every perk in a match like BT or MoM, the killer's chance increases by X%. (That may not be the best example, but it is a base idea. There are ways around problems that don't include nerfs.)

sorry but no. Any perk that gives a free health state with no downside or counterplay that all survivors can run deserves a major nerf

    4 perkless survivors against 14 killers ? Are u for real ?

Clarification: against any killer that isn’t nurse or spirit. The game has 16 killers atm

  • This is something inevitable that’s been slowly happening forever. All the survivor things that got nerfed deserved and needed it. The truth of the matter is that the game is and has mostly been about how much time survivors waste. 4 perkless sirvivors can still triple escape against 14 killers without much issue lol.

  • The two blade add ons are bugged.

  • PS5 is fully backwards compatible with PS4. There shouldn’t even be a difference except for more processing power.

@her_boytoy having expensive skins on a f2p game is one thing. But this is a full price game + paid dlc + overpriced skins.

This is not how games as a service works.

This is exactly how it works.

  • Anything with particles effect s. Right now the Santa Clown and the 5 Halloween skins.

  • I already rate Clown as 5th best. Those changes would be op lol.

  • @Rex_Huin said:

Killer costumes - £8 and you cant even see yourself in game except for a few seconds at the start of the match. Its crazy really....

I only bought skins that make me easier to see. I like being a goopy Christmas tree.

  • The unique skins are fine at their current price. The palette swaps are way too expensive though. Ten dollars for a hallowed blight skin is fair. A buck fifty for a green shirt is not.

  • I'm pretty sure half of the community feedback they do accept is because of massive amounts of complaining on the forums and Reddit and Twitter.

  • He's already weak enough that I'm not going to stop playing him. It will just make it a bit harder.

@Redd yeah, I get what you mean, I think every different colored rank should have it's own balance. Like green ranks have their own balance, red ranks have their own balance ect. But the problem with that is that people derank to bully newer players and other people simply just dont want to rank up.

    @PhantomMask20763

They really need to hide rank from players. Most of the deranking problems would go away if people couldn't track their rank so accurately.

  • The problem with balancing Dead by Daylight is that the game is either heavily in favor of the killer or heavily in favor of the survivor; depending on your rank.

If they balance too much around the best players at Rank 1; then killers like the Doctor would become completely oppressive at lower ranks. If they balance too much around the majority of players at the lower ranks; then survivors are way too powerful at red ranks. They are sort of forced to straddle this line where they are kind of trying to both and yet neither; because the sheer skill gap between both ends of the spectrum means they can't actually balance the game. The end result is a meta that is sort of balanced for green ranks but not at all balanced for Rank 1 or Rank 20.

The way they compensate Rank 1 killers for this is that they have killers like the Nurse available to let them still be competitive. The way they compensate non Rank 20 survivors for this is that as a solo survivor it's still pretty easy to rank up to where you belong.

It's not the balance anybody wants, but it's the best balance they've managed to achieve so far, and they aren't going to be able to buff killers too much more than they currently have without making them extremely hard to play well like the Nurse or Spirit. They also can't release those too often though because they still have to also release killers that bad killers can play too.

    TLDR: Balance is hard lol.

  • You can't screw over new players in order to perfectly balance a game. There has to be some give and take.

That said, you can't screw over red ranks either lol.

  • The game will frequently crash if you are vomiting when the last survivor escapes/dies.

I don't know why. Just don't spam vomit when the game is trying to transition to the results screen.

  • @BottledWater

The only killers with the ability to force an end to pallet loops (in their base kit) way earlier than average are the Nurse, Hag, Clown, and Spirit. Trapper doesn't count because they can just run to another pallet and he can only carry 1 trap by base.

The only killers with a good enough ability to mitigate getting pallet looped somewhat are Hillbilly and Huntress.

Right now the top of my killer Tier List would look like:

    1. Nurse
    2. Spirit
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Hag
    5. Clown
    6. Huntress

Everyone else is just going to get pallet looped without really good add-ons; and even the Huntress and Hillbilly are somewhat map dependent. I mean..... we are currently in a meta where the Plague's ability currently reads "All survivors are broken and can't hide from you inside of your terror radius." And she's considered bad because she can get pallet looped. Myers can insta-down people out of a 4 meter terror radius (basically stealth) yet would only end up as my #7 or #8. Because Myers can get pallet looped. Stealth and Insta-Downs just aren't good enough in the current meta-game. You need some way to stop them from pallet-looping you; or at higher ranks you are just going to get gen rushed.

  • The thought process behind the hatch is that it forces the game to end once there is only one survivor left. Either they'll escape, or the EGC will get them. Previously when you had to do 2 gens to get hatch, there were situations where games could go on way longer than desirable with absolutely nothing interesting happening because the survivor was just in a ######### situation.

This is not quite as bad with 2 survivors left alive because eventually they'll try to start killing each other or they'll actually do gens.

  • @IMhereRUN said:

How can anyone wish to re-work Clown with a buff? If any re-work is done to him it’d have to be a nerf. He’s the best loop counter killer (excluding Nurse, obviously). Loops are the #1 defense for survivors, not to get away, but to prolong the chase...the clown renders almost everybody loop obsolete.

You may as well as for X-Men’s Cyclops to be a killer, because any buff to Clown would almost be an insta-down from looking at a survivor (hence, Cyclops).

And contrary to popular belief, he moved the same speed while holding bottles as he does holding his knife.

Simple Logic: They think he is bad and don't understand how to counter loops with him.

  • He gets pallet looped and is limited to 115% me; so he’s automatically going to get gen rushed.

  • My thoughts are that three dimensional point-of-view detection is not going to be accurate without a whole lot more time and money. It's going to be a complete nightmare to get perfect; and if I was in their shoes I wouldn't even have attempted it.

  • Buff: Fully infected survivors now have 30% reduced action speed. Percentage could be adjusted to a better point via testing.

Boom -> People would start cleansing against Plague. Most of problems would be solved.

  • Whispers + Ruin + BBQ + Bamboozle

I'm level 28 atm so this is the best all Tier III build I have (aside from BBQ which is Tier I). The other Tier 3 perks I've got are Thanataphobia, Furtive Chase, and Remember Me.

  • Coulrophobia affects survivors outside your terror radius instead of inside.

  • It doesn’t matter what the meta is; I’m not trying Monstrous Shrine.

  • The entire point of running Dying Light is to tunnel the obsession to death. If you are not doing this, you are using it inefficiently. You would be better off running something like PWYF or Remember Me. There is more synergy there, although it’s not great.

  • This is what happens when you nerf a killer who doesn’t need it lol.

  • Cleansing a dull totem now gives 20 points. This takes 14 seconds without bonuses giving 1.42 emblem points per second.

Doing a generator completely solo gives 100 emblem points upon generator completion. This takes 80 seconds without bonuses giving 1.25 emblem points per second.

Cleansing dull totems now officially gives you more lightbringer progress than working on generators for the amount of points gained versus amount of time spent. Often, you will even find dull totems in your course of normal play without having to go out of your way looking for them. There is now very little excuse to not cleanse every dull totem you come across if the killer is not on your butt at the time.

  • @GucciUwU said:

Killers want you to cleanse the totems because the time you're spending running around the map like an idiot looking for the totems is time you could spend working on generators instead, at the end of the day it gives the killer more time to get some hooks/sacrifices, it's a win win situation for the Killer.

Spoken like someone who ignores totem right by generator.

  • Played both roles at Red ranks. Haven't had enough time to get back there this season yet, but getting close.

On the killer side, the only killer I'm capable of doing perfectly well with without any perks or add-ons is the Nurse. That is the only killer I would be able to get to Rank 1 with if I didn't use perks and add-ons. Every other killer needs their perks and/or add-ons at least somewhat.

On the survivor side, I could get to Rank 1 solely running No Mither + WGLF + Spine Chill + Empathy with no item. Granted the No mither would make it take longer, but it would not be impossible. If I ran no perks at all instead it wouldn't even be hard.

The majority of killers need their perks. Survivors really do not. You need 3 skills to do well as survivor. 1) Pallet Looping. 2) Working through Hex: Ruin. 3) Paying attention. All other perks, items, and offerings are just a bonus. So when something like Mettle of Man comes out, it really is meta-breaking and the survivors should certainly not be allowed to have it on top of Exhaustion Perk + Adrenaline + Decisive Strike.

    -------------------

On the topic of NOED: It certainly doesn't deserve a change, but at this point I wouldn't mind them nerfing it just to make bad survivors finally shut up about it.

  • He’s op. Needs even more nerfs than the hotfix.

  • And they are nerfing him lol.
