That's the individual killer's problem.
If by individual killer, you mean the actual killer character implemented in the game. It's not a player issue when someone like Zubat can choose Trapper, Myers or Huntress, and 2 gens are done before the killer can even go in a straight line across the map.
-
Lot's of people have asked about the sound issues. I think what you mean is that the devs are not addressing it.
@Waffleyumboy said:
Why should stridor counter Iron Will?
Why should calm spirit counter the doctor completely?
Why should urban evasion directly counter hag?
Why should small game indirectly counter trapper/hex perks?
There's nothing wrong with perks that counter other perks.

Yes I do, how else do you fight against something that speeds up the longer it chases you, also some background Iโve been to rank 2 killer 1 survivor, but I like staying in purple now for less stressful games. It seems super competitive at red
Well, how else are you capable of applying even a little gen pressure with a killer that lacks mobility like Bubba, or Trapper on a map the size of texas? You guessed it. Slugging.
It's acceptable. Lots of survivors don't like it, and lots will DC. Survivors in general tend to not like anything killers do, so I wouldn't worry about that.
-
-
I will answer your question with a question.
Do you think looping is acceptable?
-
I don't think it's fair to say "they never learned gen pressure" when with certain killers, it's impossible to apply adequate gen pressure on large maps, because a gen or two can be completed before you even get to the other side of the map to "pressure" it.
-
Sure, add comms. After a 5th perk slot for killers.

Maybe you don't camp, if so, good on you.
But yes killer camping happens a ton.
I need to steal that line. "You're probably provoking". It's such BS lmao. "Oh you got teabagged and flashlight clicks all game? You probably provoked them." ๐๐ you killer mains are like memes come to life
What rank are you? I'm a red rank survivor, I hardly ever see anything more than heavy patrolling. The second you made the assumption that I was a killer main is when you forfeit the debate. With that attitude, it's no doubt you're on of those people who deserves to be camped and probably asks for it.

Tf2 balances around the higher skilled players.... Its called trickle down balance and uncle dane did a good video on it
They balance it around high rank players in a way that also keeps it balanced at low ranks. I know of the video.

Because it happens about every other game ๐ if you play survivor you will find out.
Honestly these days if a player JUST camps it almost seems polite. Instead of face camping and hitting your person until sacrificed.
No it doesn't, lol
If you're getting camped that much, you're likely provoking the killer.
-
Balance should never be done around new players. It should also never be done around only high rank players. It should be done universally around everyone; and it IS possible. TF2 has been doing it for years.
BHVR it seems...just doesn't know how.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLAY SURVIVOR, KILLER MAINS. You need to get face camped to death repeatedly, it's "a legit strategy."
Most kills do play survivor. You'll find that it's actually most survivors who don't play killer. It's also most survivors who act like camping happens every game.
-
wat?
-
Playing survivor. It's a lot more fun to have endless second chances than it is to go against people with endless second chances while all my things get nerfed.

I'll let you all brainstorm, but I would generally argue against having larger rewards for prestiging. On a personal level, I would prefer prestige stays optional for those who have loads of time to play, rather than encouraged for those who might not.
That said, having slightly cheaper nodes wouldn't be too crazy, in my eyes. Granted, you would have to play that one killer or survivor a ton to make up for the three times you prestiged.
That's why I made the suggestion about character loadouts. It's something that nobody needs and provides no real advantage other than convenience. Just a little something extra in addition to the dated bloody cosmetics.
I also like the idea others have mentioned about perks being single tier only. No more tier 1, 2 or 3 perks. At this point in the games lifetime, it's unnecessary and would cut the grind in half for people. Which nobody would be against.
-
Instead of bloodweb things for prestige (cause I think they need to make the grind less overall for everyone), how about actual usable features?
My idea is - for each prestige level to a character, unlock a loadout slot for that character. Loadout's can be complete kits. For survivors it would include perk builds, items, addons and even offerings. For killers it would be power addons, perk builds and offerings. Hell, even cosmetics for those specific loadouts. I think people would love this feature. Not having to switch perks individually to change to a build with a different purpose.
-
Rarely. They should change switch the rarities so mori offerings and keys are as rare as BPS, and BPS are as common as mori offerings and keys are now.

It obviously isn't since the survivors that play against me do it with ease. I'm just an idiot that cant figure it out lol.
Nah man. I was just making a joke.
People complain constantly about how ghostface is annoying because "it's impossible to reveal him". Meanwhile...I do it consistently every time I face him. From like, miles away. "It's so hard, though".

where is the penalty for 2 gens popping when I get my first down when I got ruin?
Also, where it the penalty for abusing god windows, and safe loops?
@Psypho_Diaz you would see a lot less killers inclined to camp if survivors didn't have endless safe loops, god windows, and second chances at their disposal. Don't complain to killer, complain to the devs.

I was on plagues map playing ghostface
Mmmmhm. Huge maps with non mobile killers. I play Billy, Freddy and Nurse without Ruin, because they have high mobility and therefore you can apply gen pressure on large maps. Myers? or Huntress? at the beginning of a round? Without ruin on those two especially you're looking at a minimum of 1 gen being done before you can even get to the other side of the map because of their speed.
-
@xChrisx said:
Adapt and try new builds
This is a bot excuse, and doesn't remedy the fact that killers without map pressure ability (aka mobility like Trapper and Myers) can not apply pressure on large maps (Mother's Dwelling etc).
-
The last time sounds were borked like this (in literally the same way with the same issues), it lasted almost 6 months (this was in 2018) and killers started running Shadowborn to compensate.

Queue times got nuked once they started queuing SWF with the highest rank, it was an instant change over night, if it was really due to killers leaving it would have at least been gradual.
Killers went from 5 - 10 minute lobbies to instant, and survivors did the opposite
This video explains it quite well.
I'd say it has more to do with lack of killers than anything. If that video was anything to go by, then yellow and brown rank killers wouldn't be getting matched with red and purple rank survivors every other game. That actually goes against their matchmaking logic, and shows to be more of a symptom of just not having enough killers.

Yeah? Prove it. You all keep saying this as if to prove you were right, but on ps4 (where I play) survivor wait times have been long since I can remember, well before the ruin change. So why is that? Stop creating false statements to cater to your own ideas.
Why are you so defensive? I don't have statistical data. Only BHVR has that. I never said it was 100% fact. It's just my take based on what I see. You're on PS4. I'm on PC. There's no sense arguing with me because we are in two completely different scenarios. PS4 DBD has a smaller player base overall than PC. That would likely be why you see longer queue times. My goodness dude, take a chill pill. Stop being so aggressive. Come back when you're ready to have a civilized discussion, Mr. Defensive.

Camping sucks, and I don't understand why Devs approve this. Its like:sit 2 minute and mash this button while everyone are playing, great game. Especially on low ranks (Think players on low ranks have most of the games like this) , also guys don't forget if you genrush camper he propably also use noed, because when you genrush you usually don't destroy totems so easy kills, they don't care if they don't rank up, also camped player are forced to also stay on their ranks.
They approve it because you can not dictate a playstyle. You start dictating playstyles, you have a dead game.
-
@a_good_player said:
You guys definitely make it too apocalyptic. Ruin wasn't that great of a perk even before the nerf: you cannot rely on a hex perk. Just play whitout it and learn to apply pressure.
It's not entirely unwarranted though. It's already more or less begun. Killer queue times are near instant, while survivor queue times are an eternity. That means there simply aren't many killers left compared to even a few months ago.

So how did he get 25k, I think you're mistaken
Since you're very and extremely obviously a new player, I'll explain this in the simplest terms possible.
There are only two scenarios where the killer in question got 25k bloodpoints.
- He camped someone, and the rest of your team mindlessly fed themselves to him like bots (aka - giving them what they want, and a reason to camp more in the future) and farmed eachother over and over so he got multiple hooks and sacrifices..OR..
- He wasn't camping.
If a killer got 25k points from camping, the fault lies ENTIRELY on the survivors who fed themselves to him on a silver platter. So, good job. You did it to yourself. You don't get 25k points from camping one person, and you don't get the amount of hooks required to GET 25k points from camping, unless the team offers themselves to the killer by bum rushing hooks, which is what I'm betting you did.
Just stop, you're making yourself look really bad.

Take blood points away. Make the leveling grind that much harder.
They already get significantly less bloodpoints when they camp someone to death. They also get cucked with the emblem system and will likely depip. So wish granted. Boom, I just solved your problem.

No i mean 5 gens left and just stares at the survivor but good point
I mean, there will always be some players like that. You also need to keep in mind, camping is only viable because survivors allow it to be viable. Survivors have all the tools at their disposal to both prevent, and punish it.

Only baby killers think face camping is ok
On the flip side, only baby survivors still complain about camping in 2020. Also - face camping doesn't exist anymore. There is only camping now. Face camping hasn't been a thing for a good long while, since you can unhook from any angle now.
-
I think there are campers, of course. However, I think campers are far less common than people think or would have you believe.
"Killer hooked me, saw my team mates around the hook (or scratch marks) and didn't leave the hook, so he camped". That's pretty much the standard. If I know someone is near, I'm not going anywhere.
-
I would love this to be able to study maps, and figure out effective routes.

Sounds like a baby killer, play more before.... Play better more before you talk legit strategy.
FYI you probably thinking hiding in the corner with a shotgun in FPS is also legit.
I'm a rank 1 Wraith and Billy main.
I also don't camp. That doesn't stop the fact that killers camp because survivors constantly feed them kills. This isn't new. Also - only "baby survivors" complain about camping in 2020. You have all the tools at your disposal to punish camping.
I should also note - I rush in shooter games. Hot drop in BR's etc. Camping is boring to me. Go ahead, keep making assumptions.
-
Camping is absolutely a legitimate strategy. It's also only viable because survivors allow it to be viable. Yes, you read that right. Only survivors can be blamed for camping killers, cause they are the ones who allow it to work.

Ruin changes will go live, because devs cant nerf toolboxes/adjust gen speed/adjust early game balance without seeing the statistics without old ruin. Thats what they said
The issue is, there may not be enough killers left to test with. Survivor queue times are already huge.
I agree they are doing all the right things, the issue is, they are doing it in the most ridiculously wrong order.

@ad19970 said:
I agree with many here, it's probably one of the best maps in the game. Maybe a tad killer sided, but without old Ruin, I feel like this map has the kind of balance that every map needs.
Maybe turning a few pallets that are completely unsafe into pallets that can be mindgamed by both killer and survivor would be good, but that's it.
I wouldn't say it's killer sided. It's perfectly balanced. It just doesn't have the god loops and amount of safe pallets the other maps have. Make no mistake, you can loop for days, if you're good enough.

You are not alone. Her blinks and post-blink lunges are completely broken right now. Dedicated servers and her rework introduced so many gamebreaking bugs to her. To the point that ######### hurts her more than the actual nerf itself.
Does that kind of perpetuate that its her skill ceiling that is higher, and not that she is necessarily as bad as people believe she is?
If it's possible for someone to do well with her, even if its difficult, its possible for everyone.
-
@Peanits said:
Sure. To put it simply, to fix a bug, we need to find it first (easy part), figure out what's causing it, then fix whatever's broken. The latter two take time. Given that the last DLC released so close to the holidays, there wouldn't have been enough time to get them fixed before we left. We started on the 3.5.0 PTB pretty much the day after we got back, so at this point, we're looking ahead to the mid-chapter update. Making a separate update at this point solely for bug fixes would be counterproductive, since we'd need to send that update out for certification, only to immediately send out yet another update with those fixes and the new changes right after.
In short, holiday schedule, limited time. This will be fixed in the mid-chapter update. We'll also be giving the Oni more control during his flick at the same time.
Would it then be fair to maybe say that the QA team should be a bit more thorough in the future? Cause there is sometimes always bugs a lot like this in patches. Not to insult anyone of course.
edit: also thank you for your answer. i try not to come across as ungrateful :)
-
In my experience - if you relied on addons as opposed to her base kit, you aren't going to do well with nurse. I'd say a lot of nurse mains suffered from this problem. Reliance on addons.
People like Marth, Tru3 etc...they all still rip rectums opened with nurse. It's just a matter of actually being good at her playstyle, and managing your blinks correctly. There's just a less forgiving recovery speed if you mess up a blink.

I agree with this as a mainly survivor player. Screw people who 99 the gates. It's gotten people killed far more than it has saved them.
