Survivor: bad ping, keys, multiple flashlights.
Killer: bad ping, keys.
Very simple really, game struggles with good connection. Keys just ruin my fun for either side. And I dodge multiple flashlights as survivor as they're either toxic or cant actually use it and throw the game, neither are fun.
Starstruck and lightborn will actually give you easier games than normal against lots of flashlights, a lot of fun you're missing out on.
-
Eh sometimes I'll pick 1 lucky guy to go straight to death hook in the early game regardless of map just so I've got an instantly removable guy in the late game in my back pocket as that's very useful but I make sure the dude gets left alone for a while after that to play the game.
Send me to haddonfield though....

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268595/the-pallet-fix-is-amazing
I'm going off of this thread. MandyTalk has stated that the hit should happen if the pallet has not made it halfway and the hit should not/stun should happen if it's past halfway. Yes, the actuality is based on who has the lower ping. I guess you must be going against people with <30 ping.
I play with around 55 ping and the only problem that I see is the animation sometimes. But I don't rely on free hits at pallets, so...
I think the solution is to somehow avoid giving the killer the impression they've gotten the hit when the server verifies that they haven't, not reverting the change. it just needs a little more work.
I actually don't think it's possible to fix that, I could well be wrong but given the entire client was written with pier to pier in mind and not written for dedicated server I don't think there's a way your client won't register the hit and you visually see it before the server disqualifies the damage.
Honestly I'm pretty used to just double checking the second a hit goes through now anyway.

ranked is a meme. Has no meaning and the conditions to rank up are utter garbage and dont reflect skill whatsoever. Its just there for the achievement and keep small brain players playing thinking rank 1 is something special.
That's great except I wrote an objective fact and you tried to disprove it with a subjective opinion.
-
What is this "casual party game" meme I keep seeing people spout when trying to argue against DC penalties ? Dbd isn't a casual party game, it's only game mode is ranked where people are trying to climb ?

Yeah its optional if you never wanna use your power for the rest of the game and only use M1 to down survivors....
You give people the sprint burst....PERIOD if you ever use his power and tier him up past 1, you WILL give all survivors tagged a free health state. <--- That by itself...against any survivor with a brain and ESPECIALLY against survivors who absolutely know the ######### game in out backwards sideways and upside down will have your chases last twice as long as any killer in this game...period....and if you were around for mettle of man before it was nerfed...it was easily the most nightmarish chases you could ever have to deal with in this game, and for Nemesis these chases are BASE KIT....All I can say is thank god they nerfed insta heals before releasing him because it could be 10 times worse.
He doesn't have any depth. He doesn't have any secondary objectives, he doesn't have to strategically place traps around the map, he doesn't need muscle memory for movement skills, he's an M1 killer with a worse ranged ability than pyramid head.
His only big brain saving grace are his zombies.....which would be fine.....if they weren't a buggy ass mess getting stuck on terrain, and if they weren't perma locked to 2 no matter how big of a football field size map you go to....
He's F tier. And don't even bring up trickster for comparison because trickster donkey stomps him out of the water with lethality even though its popular on this forum to say that tricksters power set is "weak" yeah about as weak as bringing a machine gun to knock out bottles at a carnival. And I'm actually shocked they aren't in the process of nerfing the ######### out of him.
I personally don't like trickster, not because he's weak, but because his aesthetic doesn't fit, his power is a repeat of other power sets, and his theme is like...Murder She Wrote levels of scary when you're 6 years old and its the only thing your parents will put on the TV and you can't change the channel and you fall asleep of boredom listening to this 80 year old woman talk about the good old days while chasing around serial killers who look like the local mail man....1940s era soap opera scary...much spooky....very meh...
What I don't think you're grasping with nems power is you use it at the chase drop, you find a survivor very quickly with lethal purser and you normally land the first m1 quickly thanks to m&a, you follow them for down potential and normally they will take you to a loop with a pallet or a window where you get an easy whip and you drop chase and move on, with your zombies constantly feeding you Intel around the map you always know where to go to start chases and rinse repeat, nemesis is a high Intel killer as you're always seeing your zombies react around the map it's like getting mini bbq's throughout the game constantly.
In a perfect match come end game there should be no vaccines and everyone should be infected with your power at tier 3 and at this point nemesis has become a very different killer than the early game, by this point your zombies will be around the 3 gen with you as well and the pressure snowballs.
If you're running around just whipping people I can see why you feel he's f tier but you're clearly not setting up your end game on him very well. This is what annoys me when people compare him to phead when you don't play phead in this way at all it's a terrible comparison simply because they are mele with a ranged attack does not mean their game play is the same at all.
-
I just bring starstruck and everyone behaves no matter what they bring, it's a really magical perk, if they got 3+ flashlights I'll stick a lightborn too, really helps swf chill out.
Everyone's a gangsta till they got the exposed status.

That's fair, but I have also seen zombies literally standing as close as they could to an obstacle, such as a tree, and just... Not moving. At all. Even when I was doing the generator ten feet away from it.
For sure, but it's generally them responding to something that's got them stuck, it's annoying for sure but for whipping them on the way past you're granted a bit of power and a new one spawns in 12 seconds. They aren't perfect for sure but the zombies coupled with the lethal pursuer perk make nemesis a killer who always knows where to go and it really helps keep pressure.
-
@NomiNomad said:
I can count the times zombies have done something to me on one hand. And most of the time, when they have, it was my own fault. And I've definitely played my fair share of games against Nemesis at this point.
Zombies aren't useless but don't act like they're amazing either.
But what you can't count is how many times the Nem player noticed the zombie move for a moment as it briefly responded to you moving or doing something passing it and the Nem player clocking where you were and most logically going and constantly using this information throughout the game to decide his next patrol.

Low F tier. He's the only killer in the game that gives survivors a free health state rivaling mettle of man and on top of that free health state you get a free sprint burst as well....
You do understand giving that health state is optional right ? A lot of people sleep on nemesis, he's very balanced and strongly in b tier, I've got a few hundred games with him and the meme that zombies are bad baffles me, they aren't game changing infact they are very balanced but even just in tracking information alone they help you really keep pressure on the game and the fact that the longer you keep Nem in one place the sooner the zombies will turn up and ruin your loop. Sure they bug out occasionally, you whip it walking past and a new spawns in 12 seconds.
Everything about him is very balanced with just enough depth to his power to give him a bit of a skill ceiling outside a basic m1 killer.
Nemesis really brings the pursuer pressure that fits his theme and nothing about him is BS but because he's not bs to face it ranks him poorly which is in itself, bs.
-
I have played a lot of nemesis games, those zombois are amazing and do great work in a really balanced way.

Nope. The key can still open the hatch with zero charges, as the charges of the key itself only affect its aura reading abilities.
I'm so confused I thought this key change was literally in the last patch we got.

You could, I dunno, get better at the game. Hook people and practice your chases. The fact that you believe camping end game is the answer, shows you lack the skills in all other aspects of the game.
You realize there are entire builds based around egc ? Christ anytime I run a fun egc build I'm secure in the knowledge that I'm a good guy because the survivors get the whole match to make their bp/pips before the boss battle begins but there's always someone no matter what, one ######### who still finds a way to cry about what you're doing, I'd say don't be that guy but it's too late.
-
By the time you make it from the hook to the gate the survivors will be gone, the only sensible objective at that point is to force survivors into a risky unhook so you can attempt to play off that, it's not killers being mean it's killers being practical.
Don't get caught at the end of the game if you don't have alturistic team mates or just accept you ain't escaping but at least you have an entire games worth of blood points to fall back on.
-
Killer can be 1000x more stress
Survivor can be 1000x more salt
It kinda balances out somewhere.
-
Sounds like he has a good opportunity to see how the game operates in end game and decide if it was for him, if survivors working together as a team to escape and evade you caused him to have an emotional response this probably isn't the game for him.
-
Make ruin just how all gens work when not being worked on and give survivors ds, bt and unbreakable as base kit.
Would be interesting to see what games looked like then at least, even if just for science.

I play on console so I'm deprived of the joys of post game chat, I do however often get unironically called a "sadist" on Twitter just for playing meta perks on a killer or daring to use add-ons that the game provides me.
Twitter is a strange place.

Can’t remember the last time I had fun as killer. I find swf more fun since we can bully the killer and gang up on him to the point of facecamping which is easily counter by hook bombing.
I love those swf's, their whole world collapses while they all bleed out on the floor watching me dance.
-
It's so rude when people unhook and don't stick around the protect or heal the guy, I'll normally slug him to create pressure because then someone's gotta heal him while I chase the rescuer, but that's a missplay on the unhookers part and just bad team mates in general, it's definitely not tunneling unless you keep hooking them.
-
In my experience playing both, the survivors do nothing for the killer, no inch is given either when I'm the killer or in my survivor games, I do however see a lot more charity from killers which is then very quickly forgotten when you que in to your next game with a basement bubba.

Just wondering the ssd should be 1tb only to see improvements?
My ssd is only 500gig and it runs perfectly, actually gained bonus fps from the last patch which is nice, just make sure you don't get a hybrid ssd as they are fake ssd's and don't do much to help the issue.
-
If you don't want to watch their victory celebration don't go to the exit gate, you're sending some mixed messages when you attend if you don't like it.
-
I just don't appreciate how they made his power next to unusable on controllers AND reduced his knife count, I can't judge current trickster because he's the only ranged killer on console that has literally been made worthless.
Sad times.
-
You need to lighten up a bit, when you see the lightsabers just take lightborn and when you get in game and they wanna mess around with you have some fun with them, then when you've had your fill and dance around with the killer time gets old you just slug them all and make them race for you while they bleed out, this let's the survivors know that playtime's over and it's signals them to go to the next game.

They did that the second that he was designed to be a projectile killer. The changes he has received since PTB have barely changed his viability on console because playing any projectile killer on console is a chore in itself.
Nah if you don't suffer from client stutters playing on console is fine, harder for sure but the others are okay, trickster was the most awkward so you literally needed all those knives to compensate for the jankiness, having a quarter removed with the accuracy nerfed has just removed him as an option.
-
Such a shame the PTB promised to make him a better killer for the 1v1 and instead they just removed him as a possible console killer completely.

Literally unplayable

There are so many ways to improve controller without making M&K support and devs don't realise
Aim assist for ranged killers, separate sensitivity settings for aim-required killers, exponential sensitivity, raising sensitivity speed even more like they did lasy year and so on
Honestly outside from the obvious extra options to sensitivity and dead zones I think the entire control scheme for consoles needs a redo, at the moment it feels like you're playing an emulated game with a tacked on controller, the player base on consoles is too large for it to remain this way.
-
With his previous knife count it felt like you could just about make his power work on controller for a down, with the reduced number now he just feels pointless to play you have to be more accurate than is possible unless you're playing him like billy in which case you may as well just play billy and have 10x better map pressure and an instant down.

OP I don't think you are understanding it correctly. The change doesn't mean you are invincible from the moment you begin the pallet animation.
I was a lot more shocked at the speed of which it was decided, I've never witnessed my survivor drop with a pallet like that before, I'm not claiming I should have won.
-
Guys I was testing for science, I think I preferred the old system though because it looked more spaghetti, now you literally fall down with the pallet.

- Various crash fixes
It's in the Other section, all the way in the bottom.
I had a good feeling I was the problem finding it, fingers crossed for the people without SSD's in their consoles, I'll be gutted if the game isn't back to playable for everyone.

Am I blind I just read the patch notes and I don't see anything about HDD optimisation other than nemesis fixes ? Did I miss something ?

I got them on PS4, what exactly is 50k blood points compensation for ? Not to sound spoilt but 50k seems more like bm lol

Soloq4lyfe

Solo q survivor is harder to survive/escape, for killer it's more stressful to succeed, both can be hard just in different ways.

"Those fixes that appeared to be days for you were fixed weeks ago".....issues that were not identified until the chapter released were fixed weeks before they were even identified?
Ok I'm just stepping away from this discussion. You're just not making any sense to me. No offense.
I think the issue is you take patch notes like they are happening in the now, they are not. Look at the tweet I edited into my post I think that makes it pretty clear that even when consoles are so ######### they can barely play, and bhvr have the fix, they cannot push out the fix without waiting the 3 weeks.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:

Still not making sense. Issues have not been identified until a chapter was released many times before, and they managed to release a fix for them within a few days of the chapter's release. So why all of a sudden is it taking 3 weeks to release a patch?
Amazingly the cosmetic glitches are always fixed pronto even though they don't get identified until they are released. Never a 3 week stall on them.
Because you're constantly living in the past, those fixes that appeared to be days for you were fixed weeks ago, you send the 1.0 update for approval, you realize there's an issue so you fix it then send the fix for approval, you now have 2 updates qued, the 1.0 update and the 1.0 hot fix, one will go live in 15 days the other will go live in 17 days.
You cannot circumvent this process and it's why developers are always versions ahead on what they are working on versus what we receive.
Edit:
This is what they are referring to regarding the console fix.
