You're not making sense. The lag issue was realized from day 1.
The re chapter released broken on consoles, the issue wasn't identified and fixed until a few weeks ago when it was sent to Sony/Microsoft for approval, we was then told it was going to be 3 weeks until we got the fix ( the 28th patch ). This is because any update takes 3 weeks for us to receive due to the approval and alignment process, I'm not sure what you don't understand here, bhvr literally confirmed this process on Twitter weeks ago.
When you open up your PC game to crossplay with consoles you lose the ability to hotfix on the same day.

I play slinger on last gen console and do quite well with him. Right now I lag when aiming his gun but I am speaking in general. Huntress is in my personal top 3 so she don't bother me either. Nurse is one I would have in the top as well. Yes she is more difficult on console but the job can still be done with her when mastered.
Yeah before I used the SSD in my ps4 pro I got the mini stutter every time I aimed down sights on his gun it was horrible, hopefully next week's HDD fix removes that because he's very enjoyable when working normally.

3 week to approve a patch? I've seen them release patch fixes for new chapters within DAYS of them coming out.
Because the issue was realized days later so the fix went up days after it was sent to Sony/Microsoft, it might seem like it's happening live to you but I promise you it's not. The version of the game we play is always like 3 versions behind what bhvr are working on. Sony especially have to vet all updates and he approved to make sure it doesn't harm their OS and that alone takes weeks and there's no way around it.

People who were not suffering from the lag issues most likely were the ones who were vocal about bringing it back. I get the frustration. A lot of people taking advantage to dc when the smallest thing does not go their way. It sucks. But it also sucks for the people who are lagged out and would be punished with time outs that were not their fault.
Bhvr should have patched this sooner. This has been going on for weeks. Ever since the R.E. chapter. A lot of players have not been able to to enjoy the 5th year anniversary event because of it.
They actually can't patch it sooner, it takes like 3 weeks for patches to be approved by Sony and Microsoft and you need to give enough time to have a patch date where they both line up for the same evening, it's a long winded process and we are always months behind on client version from behavior, it's the cost of crossplay.

i feel that the only killers who would worse for console would be those you need to aim for. i.e huntress, deathslinger, exectuioner(?).
freddy is just never going to be past b tier, pc or console 😔
Slinger is bad if you're imagining playing a fps on console when you use pc to game, if you're a console person who plays fps slinger is amazing, especially his reliance on flick shots.

I find learning to always hit from maximum lunge range is the key, the feral lunge is like a decloaking wraith, if they can 360 you then you're too close to them.

I'd put billy in s and move bubba down to d, his chainsaw sweep is nightmareish on controller. Doctor at s and without performance issues nemesis is an s for me, works really smooth with controller, oh and id put hag at ss but she's so boring to play.

I've noticed when playing lag spikes and issues, plus I've been booted a few times.
Using what I know, and the constant posts on it, there a quite a few console players suffering from this.
Now then, you can't differentiate between consoles (PS4 being the worst between that and ps5) plus they don't differentiate between that and Google store.
Personally, whilst I don't mind it being reintroduced, I want (at least on console players) a grace period at least so they can tell each day.
I can tell all the PS4 players because it's my platform and the quoted user is correct.

Then they should NOT have Raccoon City map enabled at all. I'm on console, and the lag and frame drops/glitches are bad enough on the normal maps. When I load into the new RE maps ( 3 times in 2 days), the entire game freezes. It's unplayable. I sort of have to d/c because I can't move and it's the only option to leave the game.
Oh I get it I play console I know full well what the issues were before I fixed em with an SSD, the problem is the whole player base abused the lack of DC penalty to the point all games became ruined. It sucks for you it really does and if people only DC in those circumstances I would be fighting for it to stay off, but the overall quality of the game has just tanked due to babies dcing on their first hook, or first down, the ######### I've witnessed over the last week as a solo que survivor and killers has just been insane.

But console players often can't control if they DC ATM. And pc players can. I hate that pc players are DC'ing most of my games, whilst I see quite a few console players chilling.
That's just not true, console players hard crashing is very rare and is not related to the wide spread performance issues.
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
Seriously? Consoles are still suffering the lag and they put the dc penalty back.
Lag or poor performance aren't reasons to DC, if we are talking hard crashes ( which is a rarer issue ) then thats acceptable, but when it comes to poor performance you know what you're getting going in and if you're choosing to take that on and you que for a game you're signing up for the match.
-
Thank God, I know it sucks for people crashing, but the player base ruined it being off for you, it was a problem that spiraled out of control to the point a normal game being played was 1/5 and that's just insane.

If your time is so precious and valuable that you can't sit on a hook for 2 face camp bubba'd phases while the rest of your time do whatever they can to try undermine his strategy then you shouldn't be playing video games to begin with you're clearly far too important.
Imagine the sheer ego to shaft over your team in an already ######### up situation because 3mins is just too much to ask of you. Survivors who DC will always be 1000x worse than any face camping killer and anyone who tries to defend doing it is just a certified ######### and the more excuses you make to justify it the more of a ######### you look.

I play solo q survivor it's my preferred way to play over swf, takes a lot more skill to do well in solo and that makes it much more rewarding to climb.
-
Bring blast mine, flashbang and a flashlight, lure the killer in to a blast mine then run in while he's blind and drop a flash bang at his feet them wait behind him and flashlight blind him as soon as he turns around and then immediately start tea bagging while spinning in a 360 on the spot.
This secret technique asserts dominance and the killer will be forced to respect you, make sure to tell him you're going to go do gens now and you better not see him again.
Good luck.
-
People use prove thyself because if you coop 2 gens you max out objective and then you don't have to play m1 simulator and can actually go do fun things like unhooks or chases, the idea it's responsible for gens popping too fast is wrong if anything it encourages people to not want to do gens.
Maybe work on your patrolling or end game set up or even your own perks if gens are going too fast.

The only people who get upset about dcs are sweaty killer mains. As a survivor if one or more people dc it means youre either getting a farming match as a result or a very quick over and done with match as a result. As survivor you can move on pretty easily. Its the sweaty killer mains who get salty because it robs them of more points and ruins their experience more than anyone elses because it becomes a game of shooting fish in a barrel or theyre forced to farm instead of camping and tunneling everyone.
This is the single most dumbest thing I have ever read on this forum.
I don't know why I'm responding to something so stupid but just incase this isn't some 4000 IQ troll, the only people you are screwing over is survivors, you are actually helping the killer by dcing, you are making the game near enough unwinnable and you have saved him all the time wasted of removing you from the game through hookstates.
That's his objective, to remove you from the game and rather than make him pay with time doing so to help your team, you're writing him a blood point cheque and selling your team out into a doomed game.
If you don't have the balls to try your best against whatever bullshit this game throws at you then this isn't the game for you, go play something else and stop making excuses to be part of the problem that is making survivor games unplayable at the moment.

The whole stridor nerf seems to assume that every single survivor uses iron will and would continue to do so once spirit gets chopped, while the reality is most people would like to be able to use different builds but the existence of spirit being as strong as she is kinda forces most survivors to use it, which then in turn causes most spirits to use stridor.
I like to think my survivor builds are quite quirky and off meta but I still generally run iw because it's the only counter to headphones which is a universal killer advantage and a seriously huge one.

Replacing a dced player with a bot is merely replacing an idiot with an even bigger idiot if the bot is not smart enough. Personally i dont think bots is the answer
So you have to go into farming mode and do everything you can to pull enough points out of the match, why is that so hard ? If your team mates are awful then you'll have plenty of time to get emblems while the killer tears through them, the solution isn't to DC....
-
@Zokenay said:
I mean, i dont exactly feel motivated to continue playing if my teammates dont repairs gens and are constantly getting downed/hooked by the killer.
Theres been games where i have repaired 3 gens on my own, while my teammates were dealing with their mess.
Just saying, when your teammates are total garbage on a game where you have to depend on them, well you cant really do much about it.
Also regarding quitting cause killer/map, can you really blame them? some of them are so BS its downright horrible, and this is gonna happen a lot with PTB Trickster, and then theres Haddonfield which ive seen killers preferring to afk the match
So yeah while some DC are pretty childish, gotta take in mind that sometimes it can be really frustating to play due to either incompetent teammates, toxic players or terrible game design.
Just look at R.P.D that map is HELL.
If I solo'd 3 gens I seriously hope my team mates are tangling with the killer because if they pop 2 gens in the same time and the games over I'll be lucky to even safety pip on a capped out objective and nothing else. There's more to a match than just holding m1 and is not a reason to DC, if you're team mates are trash them it's easier to farm them for emblems.

Because pip or safety pip is meant as a show of how much you did in a match. If you get caught first and camped on your first hook, you sadly didn't do anything and get hit with a depip. Wanting to add a system that says "here's a pity safety pip because you failed to do anything" is just not a good design to the rank system that is already going to get replaced.
How on earth can you imply the victim didn't contribute anything, for the same reason high rank killers never camp it's literally enabling your team to gen rush and escape the trial. That's pretty huge, sure it was the killers choice to make a bad play but the guy on the hook got to be the bad play bait, they are literally safety pipping for 5mins of not being able to play, you can argue this point all day but you'll always be wrong.

Because the ranking system is already a mess with how easy it is for survivors to safety pip and stay in high ranks. We don't need another means of keeping survivors at high ranks because they constantly find themselves unable to lead the killer on chases and find themselves dying earlier into the match.
Not to mention the devs are already trying to change the pip system to an MMR system.
At the end of the day, losing a pip is not an issue that needs to be resolved. It's not that difficult to earn that pip back.
I mean that's a great take on the ranking and pipping system but has absolutely nothing to do with someone being camped out the game to loose a pip, I mean you're accepting nothing can stop the survivors from climbing again so what difference does it make if they safety pip or not, other than less tears.
I can't really judge survivors ability for getting caught first when I roll up on them with lethal pursuer and currupt, they didn't exactly have much room to outplay me.
Your point comes across as whining for the sake of whining about the idea of them gaining a safety pip under the very specific circumstance of being camped out the game, it would only effect low ranks aka new players who most certainly do struggle to climb ranks to begin with so that kind of invalidates your point.
-
I miss having training sessions with friends for catching the survivor mid jump and all the mind games you played with each other to set them up for it.
It was fun but it was always gonna go, fun times.

@Crowman said:

There's no reason for a survivor who lost be granted a free safety pip. They didn't do enough to earn enough emblems.
As much as it does suck to depip over being camped, if you are good at the game overall you shouldn't find it that difficult to pip right back up. Bad games do happen and it's not the end of the world to lose a single pip.
You literally lose nothing if the victim gets a safety pip, you're saying "survivor who lost" in a very broad way but we're talking about something very specific that's out of the survivors control, let's also be honest here, this would only effect rank 20-10s anyway because once you get past that point finding a killer who's silly enough to waste time camping is like finding a unicorn.
It just takes the sting out of it and rather than there being a million threads a day about it you can just say all you lost is 5mins go next and stop whining.
-
Just award the camped survivor on the hook enough bp to safety pip, that's literally all that's needed, call them distraction points. Killer can use it as a grand tactic if that's what they believe their doing and survivor can go next without loosing a pip that was mostly out of his control.
Wont magically fix camping but it will absolutely soften the anger involved in the situation, everyone wins, kinda.
-
Every swf is an opportunity to learn and better yourself against the most difficult kind of match ( voice comms and coordination ). They will do everything they can to get in your head and tilt you so you start making wrong decisions or over commit to chases, they will do anything they can to gain an advantage.
You have to use those games as live practice runs in ignoring and remaining untilted by their playbook and sticking to your own. It just takes a small attitude adjustment and wising up to what their trying to achieve to make those games a lot more dealable.
Every time you have a 4 man swf moonwalk out the exit gates tea bagging in unison you just got a little bit better at what to expect and how to deal with it, they are the best practice runs to improving.
In the lobby do they have 3 flashlights ? Bring lightborn, do they have 3 tool boxes to sabo your hooks ? Bring deerstalker and start slugging and trying to make plays off them helping. Are they over alturistic ? Bait camp one of them to draw them all in to you.
There's no shame in loosing to a swf whatsoever, especially if you're new, but you have to learn to laugh and tea bag with them at the end for the sake of your own sanity.

@Jago said:
Come on, you got a Spirit profile pic mate.
I face spirit all the time, I mostly die to her and don't escape, that doesn't mean I don't safety pip or pip before it happens, even when I get caught first or find myself at death hook in the first 5 mins, there is still plenty of opportunity to get what I need to get from that match even though it's harder.
If you can't bare the chance of facing the more broken killers in this game to the point you'll ruin the hard work of your team mates this isn't the game for you to begin with.
-

Ugh, no. The dc penalty was the worst thing they ever added to this game.
Why make fun and interactive killers or fair maps when you can half ass it and strongarm players into staying into matches they aren't enjoying.
You do understand your team mates get ######### over as well right ? Your team mates who are actually trying to climb getting completely ######### over by babies who can't deal with getting caught first who just rage quit and ######### over everyone on their own team who might be actually working hard for their pips and isn't willing to just sacrifice 4 of them like you seem to be able to.
There is nothing a killer can do in a game that compares to the toxicity of your team mate dcing.
-
I've probably got a couple hundred games on Nemboi and I would say zombies prove to randomly influence the game about 75% of the time and for a wild card element that's pretty good. Even for simple tracking I would say they are always good, sure it's not like a BBQ aura read but monitoring your zombies movements help you read what's happening around the map.
You can't put a price on watching a dude tea bag you 20 times on a pallet to then immediately go down by a zomboi and then standing over him for 20 seconds to let him take in what just happened.
-
I find him to be a really balanced killer and the one I enjoy the most, I find zombies come and join me on loops way more than they get stuck in maps, and if they do get stuck just slap them and it respawns in 12 seconds. The problem with DBD is if a killer is really well balanced people assume that means bad because they aren't spirit.
-
Oh no billy must be op as ######### because my brain dead team mates all seem to dc the second he chainsaws them
-
In what world is tunneling a strategy to stop gen rush ? If you put someone on a hook and 1 person goes for the save, you still have 2 on gens and once they realize you just tunneled a guy everyone switches from fun mode to do gens and go next.
I agree tunneling can be good to apply pressure but certainly not at the start of the game and most certainly not to prevent game speed. Sounds like you need to work on your early game chases and how long you're commiting to them if gens are popping so fast early.
-
I want a chucky that can only slug people, maybe he ties you up as a hook state and people can't see your aura, something fresh and new would be fun for such a small killer.
-
In fairness though I do encounter camping bubba's so rarely I can at least find it amusing, way rarer than a toxic wraith and if they at least spent the money on the wig and dress then I guess I'm getting camped.

Hey Mandy, last night I got a game with two survivors working with the killer, they sand bagged me and the other guy until we died but before this I was running empathy so was tracking what was happening for a solid 5 mins before I was found and it was very obvious what was happening, I have the footage recorded as I'm on playstation but the said users were not steam or playstation users so I couldn't obtain proper steam id's to go with their name. Is it pointless to report them now ?
