Sweat won't come down to a killer it comes down to meta, sweaty players will always use the most effective and efficient tools to win it's the definition of sweating and perfectly valid.

Tinkerer billy that made it take 5mins to heal someone off the ground from the dying state, good times.

I'd be more interested in YouTube shorts to sprinkle bits of lore than something added to the game

My only issue with wraith bois is the pretty absurd lunge that acts like a token of coup de grace.

The problem with this is you can go from 4 gens to 1 in a blink of an eye. I have pretty good success if I ignore one survivor and only try to hook 2/3 untill one is dead
Well of course everything is circumstantial, if gens are popping that far people are clearly spread out and need pressuring so focusing on a single kill isn't going to be logical or another 2 is going to pop just as fast.

I can't imagine what the map must be like if you're not familiar with the rpd layout from playing re2, bit of a strange idea tbh.

The perk is good imo, but i'm never able to use it well as every time i use it it glitches so i cannot see what direction I'm in smh. I play on ps4 so idk if its just a console/ps4 thing but yeh its very annoying.
It's part of the HDD issue, I've got an SSD in my ps4 and dh always works perfectly, hopefully it will be sorted in their HDD fix coming soon.
-
For me it's only tunneling at 5-3 gens and generally inefficient, way better I find to cast a wider net of hooks to help secure you later, once it gets to 2 gens though it's no longer tunneling it's asserting map pressure and trying to make it a 1v3 to get the snowball rolling. Hard not to call it fair game when you have the option of ds, it's why I always bring ds on survivor.
-
In my dream version of DBD, your lobby would have a lock down timer where backing out would cause a que penalty, you would all then be shown the map, if it's killer sided the amount needed for survivor to safety pip is lowered and raised for killer and vise versa and from there you can still change your killer and perks accordingly.
I think the main issue is different killers do great or awful depending on the map, pick the right tool for the job. Large map ? Pick control killer, small indoors map ? Pick m1/stealth RPD ? Bring stealth. Loading into a map and realizing your killer is useless here or at least going to struggle to the point of unfun is the true issue.
-
I played a lot of nemesis and I don't find his t3 useless at all, on paper that 1m sounds like nothing but when it comes to catching people and how useful it is I can see why it's balanced that way, it's like that tiny bit that's missing from making the reach great.
A lot of people claim he's underpowered, he feels really balanced for me, though in DBD balanced doesn't put you in the spotlight as opposed to broken.
Edit: just to add to my counter argument against popular opinion, in the countless games I've played ive always had great experiences with the zombies, their random nature can be hilarious or just the random tracking information can be super useful. A completely random element to the match and if they bug out just mutate off them and they respawn in 12 seconds. If you lock me in an area for too long the zombois will eventually join in.

I'm not gonna ######### on the devs and tell them that their game is terrible, but the game itself just doesn't feel like a horror game anymore. The maps are too bright, and they care more about competitiveness instead of actual scare factor. Make the maps darker, add some fog, add creepy sfx, add more blood/gore, anything to make the game scarier and not just sweaty and competitive.
Dbd is a great horror game for the first week, maybe two and then it loses all horror aspect and becomes a great manhunt game, you just can't interact with a horror element over and over again without it becoming normalized. Alien 1 and Alien 2 were both amazing movies and that's kinda how I view both sides of Dbd.
Ps. Xenomorph killer when

in your world survivors have to accept that all killers run Pop + Tinkerer so they have to bring blast mine and/or Repressed alliance and Spine Chill and a perk to find totems basically, so no choice whatsoever, just run the exact opposite on what you expect the killer runs always.
(not to mention blast mine does not take away pop)
Pop and tinkerer on a good killer is just game over, same for the meta on survivors, all of that crap should be nerfed into the ground to make the game better and more balanced.
Woah, I can understand wanting changes to the stress of ruin and undying combo despite it having very easy counters if your team is smart ( rip solo quers ) but pop and tinkerer ?? Comon now do you want bhvr to do the gens for you, slam the gates open and carry you our the trial on their shoulders.

If you can make a killer who's demolishing you so mad they rage post on the forums then I'm pretty sure that bottom scorer survivor won.

Is there hope that they fix the issues prior to the 5.0.0 patch? Those issues were what I originally started this thread to talk about
Yes there is, I've been playing killer/survivor over a week now on SSD on the PS4 pro with no performance issues whatsoever, in my thread in the optimisation section I've provided plenty of videos of the console client working perfectly as have others found who've done the same.
I've mentioned before but I firmly believe the hard stutters we were experiencing were simply the final form of a long lasting and evolving problem regarding the HDD bottle necking the system as a lot of previous problems were triggered via status changes or gens popping which also effected a fair few people on PC until they upgraded to SSD.
What's significant now is we've gone from absolute radio silence about console issues since the dawn of this thread to not only bhvr acknowledging them but them also knowing what's causing the issue and claiming to be working on it.
I'm not saying the next patch will fix more than the hardest of stutters, we could well just be in the pre RE state however bhvr have started the conversation about the HDD problem and it's not going to stop until they do what needs to be done to stop the HDD bottlenecking all together. As long as people can demonstrate the client running flawlessly on a SSD they can't call the console issues fixed until they are running the same.

Not my tweet though I have the same experience as this guy, response is great news

It has a 1T memory hybrid SSD instead of the older HHD, is four times stronger than the regular Xbox1, and downloads like twice as fast if not more. Microsoft claimed it was the strongest of the proir gen machines, even a PS4 Pro.
Then that would confirm the SSD would work for your model like the original Xbox 1, the problem again lies in the hybrid it comes with.
Don't get it twisted though the problem lies on BHVR's shoulders and it is not for you to fix with your wallet, I was lucky enough to have an SSD lying about from my PC to try it with. The good news now is bhvr know what's causing all the issues and they appear to be working on it.

People realize that the performance issues are affecting PC players as well, right?
Gaming budget builds & those that share the same specs as consoles suffer from this as well.
And ironically have the same SSD fix, the issue is the HDD for all platforms, it's just lots of gaming PCs naturally have SSD's.

I think they could probably rewrite some things to make the game more efficient for hard drive users. Because significant stutters seem to happen when things need to load in like nemesis's tentacle, or dead hard animation and when i look at other games this is unusual and seems to be that the way DBD loads stuff in may be inefficent or outdated. They've said these are "fixes" so that's what i think/hope
If anything they now at least should be fully aware of what is causing the issues and even if this is a band aid fix for the worse of stutters, moving forwards I hope it points them in the right direction.
-
I really really hope they didn't just fix the stutters because if a SSD fixes everything, surely the hdd has always been the bottle neck, if anything the stutters were more like the final form of an evolving problem over the course of two years, fingers crossed bois.

I realize it helps other consoles, just saying not Xbox1x machines
Someone bought a SSD the for the Xbox one and has had all stutters fixed and the frame rate is stable, as I'm a playstation user, what is the difference between original Xbox 1 and a 1x ?

My Xbox1x came with a variety of SSD in it. Pulsar also has the same Xbox and tried an SSD on his, and it made no difference to the freezes, stutters, and lags.
So this "solution" won't help either...
It does help there are people in the SSD thread who have switched and have the same results, the Xbox comes with a hybrid ssd which isn't really an SSD at all, it's a step up from a basic HDD but it's nowhere near the SSD level of performance.

Like I said, I'm fine with the perk prevent Flashlight saves and blinds in general, but I disagreed with someone saying that flashlights are easy tools for making saves. Players don't understand how most setup it takes just to save a teammate from the shoulder with a flashlight. It's not just something you can do consistently, especially against a skilled killer.
Depends, if it's on the survivor pick up it's incredibly easy because we are locked in place and can't look away so its actually a free save, that's what is highly annoying about it. Making a save while a survivor is being transported though is a lot more skillful and risky and that doesn't bother me in the slightest because we'll played.
-
They should be thankful for lightborn, yesterday I was chatting to the Mrs while in the lobby and didn't realize they had 4 flashlights until the last few seconds of the game starting so couldn't equip lightborn. I slugged them all and let them bleed out, shove your light sabres up your arse :)
-
You ######### legend lmao, for people who are sensible and won't be getting an SSD, just take some comfort in the fact that the SSD fixes everything, that means bhvr have the power to address this issue and people saying the hardware's too old are just uneducated on the issue and it's purely a code problem that can be fixed.

I was moreso referring to Capcom because notice how we didn't get any new outfits for The Nemesis, instead we were only given a P3 outfit (which I guess is better than nothing).
I know Capcom are very strict but if they authorized the skins we have now then simply soaking them in blood shouldn't be an issue, it's when you start making your own outfits for them they can be difficult.

I mean if denying the reality that fnaf's success came from young teens makes you happy then you do you. I used to love reading goosebumps when I was a kid, fun horror but I wouldn't want to see any of those characters in DBD because it would look silly. If enough people want FNAF, let them have it, I won't protest but I would much rather scarier killers.

I love how everyone says it’s not scary cause it’s jump scares. WRONG!! That’s not the true horror of FNAF what makes it scary is the atmosphere and how you can’t move you decide your fait. Do you want to play it safe and lock the doors but lose power faster or conserve power but risk getting killed that’s what makes FNAF scary cause your Vulnerable you can’t fight back. You decided how you play. The environment is scary cause being alone with these giant ass robots coming after you and in the 3rd game a dead serial killer stalking you in a haunted walk through? Seriously it’s not adult?
we have a story we’re a guy murdered many kids and dies by the way he hid the bodies then comes back as a rotting body in a suit trying to kill. But nah that’s to interesting it’s bad cause kids play it and it’s jumpscares
I'm well aware of the lore and mechanics of FNAF and there's a reason it was popular with children and not adults.

I'd really rather they kept the more adult theme of DBD's killers, nothing about FNAF was scary. But if enough people cared and wanted it I wouldn't complain.

Not to burst your bubble but until they actually fix the console version to work "as" good as the PC version, don't get your hopes up. Console version was a literal cash grab. They won't spend money to make it work as good as PC unless they have too. The devs are notorious for putting band aids over a problem instead of actually fixing it.
Given that you can make the console client run as smooth and as stable pc by just using a SSD, there is hope for the future, maybe. They are looking into the HDD bottle neck now that seems to cause all the problems so fingers crossed. I've been playing all week now with a perfect client without a single issue, even on nemesis who I near enough main now.

Don't try to be condescending to me by responding to a point I didn't even make, doubling down on it, and being overall aggressive to me in other thread too and then expect me to not reply with "Stay mad" when I'm right.
Then don't be pedantic, saying any killer is going to have a hard time without perks is universally true and you're arguing the point for the sake of arguing, If everything was equal and nobody had good perks that game then maybe you'd have a point, also your forum name isn't a pronoun, if you don't like people referring to you by any part of it then reach out to a mod and get it changed.

Secondly, Nurse. She's on a completely different level from literally everyone, even Spirit, when no perks are involved. Hence why I talked about it depending on skill, playstyle, map, and definition of "difficult game".
Don't end a post to me with "stay mad" and then expect to care about what does or doesn't make you uncomfortable.

Also, punctuation man. Thanks.
Next, I'm saying a great Nurse not God Nurse. And I'm still not saying she won't have a harder time, I'm saying hard time. Big different bestie. A hard time = difficult, down to the wire, struggle. A harder time = more difficult but not necessarily difficult. Like, Easy mode in a game is harder than Beginner mode, but that doesnt necessarily make it hard.

"I read what you wrote dumb dumb"
Clearly not or else your reply would actually respond to what I said and not try to make up some claim from Narnia.
"all killers have a harder time controlling the game speed without perks, that's literally why they exist"
I never said anything to the contrary. Please point me to where I said this, because I'll tell you what I said. In response to "without perks, even Nurse will have hard times" I said "Only if she gets chronically bugged". That doesn't mean it would be easier without perks than with. That doesn't mean perks hinder her. It means without perks she wouldn't struggle.
Again, ✨reading✨.
"it's like all your killer ideals come from playing in rank 20 killer games or from watching 10,000 hours killer streams which does not apply to the general player base"
Actually it all comes from my own experience with playing the game. A lot of which have been red ranks.
"Even a nurse who has great map control, will have a harder time without meta perks, in the same sense, that average survivors will have a harder time escaping a match without meta perks."
You are once again proving you didn't read what I wrote because you're responding to a claim I never made. You'd have a great point here if it were at all relevant.
" You can be good at killer and survivor without perks, this doesn't change obvious facts."
Correct, I completely agree! Why are you telling me though, because it still isn't relevant to what I said?
Anyway yeah I know that using your eyes is difficult, especially when you could instead fabricate a point from nothing to attempt to get a shred of high ground, but next time stick to responding to what I've actually said, okay bestie?
Thank you very much x
Karu, saying "well a god nurse won't have a harder time" is not an applicable argument in the context of the conversation you're playing a word game where nobody can be proved wrong but you know what I mean.
Hugs and kisses xox

Yeah good luck finding two totems on massive maps
Well I must face the most amazing survivors ever because it's incredibly rare I don't lose my hexs in the early game, if I'm using ruin and undying I have the mind set that it will slow the first few gens down while a survivor or two sniff them out because that is always what happens, and in those few mins if I've got incredibly unlucky and I haven't done enough in that time those are two empty perk slots.
Sure in low rank games hexs are OP but all hexs are.

Not what I said. Please try reading in future
I said that a perkless nurse (provided they're good enough) won't have a "hard time". That doesn't mean that with perks she'd be worse.
I read what you wrote dumb dumb, all killers have a harder time controlling the game speed without perks, that's literally why they exist, it's like all your killer ideals come from playing in rank 20 killer games or from watching 10,000 hours killer streams which does not apply to the general player base. Even a nurse who has great map control, will have a harder time without meta perks, in the same sense, that average survivors will have a harder time escaping a match without meta perks. The best perks for everyone makes the game easier, to not have them is inherently harder by comparison.
You can be good at killer and survivor without perks, this doesn't change obvious facts.

@WexlerWendigo said:
There are plenty of perks that Blight can find success with, but unlike basically every other killer, and survivors, blight mains will never switch from the same four. Won’t even use corrupt, pop, etc even though they’re amazing perks.
It makes no sense, and I wonder how these people enjoy the game running the same build every match. I think everyone knows the classic blight build is used to compensate for the fact that people are bad at him, but still want to play him. Also, his add ons also cover for any mistakes. If you miss an attack with blight, doesn’t matter as he instantly recovers his charges.
"Compensating" lmao, maybe it's not the blight people being bad for running a decent build on him and maybe, just maybe it's you who are bad when you can't deal with 2 hexs because I promise you there are plenty of survivors who have no issues clearing ruin and undying at the start of a game.

I see a lot of people calling them useless but the amount of times they've chased someone off a gen or been at the loop I'm at and I can either bait the survivor into them or get the hit easier is crazy. I've had some of them just stay near almost complete gens and scare the players away or block shack/god bus window. It's probably a (I forget the term) where you simply aren't remembering how often they actually work out for you. Like how you're 3 times more likely to remember when they were useless then when they were useful.
They are very rng heavy but thats kind of the point isn't it? He's still a 115 Killer with a (relatively) decent power. He doesn't really even need them, they're just a fun bonus.
I've honestly had a lot of luck with my zombies, only had about 100 games but just the random subtle Intel they provide sometimes can be great, sure they bug out sometimes but that's easily dealt with, they definitely not op, I don't think I'd call them underpowered either.
