Is it everyone's perks or just survivor's perks?

Best Q & A?
Best stream so far?
Satisfied with the answers??
######### are some of you on??
They literally said 'no' or 'soon probably' to 99% of the questions.
The ones they DID answer was ######### like 'Whats your favourite lobby screen?' and gave answers like 'oh boy I'd love that but I don't know if we're planning anything at all'.
These streams are getting to the point where they're useless because they don't want to commit to anything, they can't handle criticism and they can't stick to an ETA.
This was a shambles where the only good points they brought up were common sense such as bots replacing people who leave being a bad idea. But then they say that a testing ground is too hard to implement, just put some basic survivors in a map so you test how fast a killer is/how their powers works!
They're either out of touch, their team has a serious skill deficit with game developing on this mess of a code or they're desperately trying to hide the fact they're managed by money-hungry management that only wants profit.
Balances and health updates don't bring in profit, not unless their player base suddenly starts crashing then they have a miraculous big update with lots of things we asked for.
This is obviously a very cynical view but what else can I think at this point? After all these Dev streams I can't help but think they're completely unaware of what the game actually needs.
I really hope a game like VHS kicks this dev into gear, that's the only way they're going to start making the changes we want and the changes the game needs.
I don't want them to run this game into the ground to eek out as many microtransactions as possible, that's why we can't shower them with praise for every little thing they say that makes sense.
Criticise them for their bad choices, let this Dev team know that we live the game but we don't like not being listened to or given radio silence on what they're changing.

I'd like to point out I HAVE an SSD and the game still runs like #########, it helps sure but it's still really bad.
Also why are consoles stuck on ultra settings?
We can't see #########

It's understandable to have the belief they are trying to just wait out old gen however it's not really an option they have.
The issue with the client on all platforms at the moment is something to do with it's data streaming that's making the harddrive make the client stutter, the only reason next gen is helping mask the problem is because a SSD naturally helps compensate for an issue of that nature.
Many PC users have had similar issues on their client that was solved with a SSD, there's nothing in the old gens hardware that couldn't run DBD at 60 fps (if the client was written properly) and if BHV were to just ignore fixing this client problem by the time next gen consoles are widespread enough to be standard all the extra content that's been piled onto this problem will actually stop the SSD being a workaround and even more issues will come as a consequence.
They don't really get to ignore or wait this one out, because it's just going to get worse and worse.
Is this confirmed or is this more along the lines of well-thought out theory crafting?
If so I'd love to see some quotes from them about this!
-
I seriously and whole-heartedly believe that BHVR is just sitting on their hands and posting little messages every now and then while getting maybe an intern to look into how they could fix last gen optimization.
Then they'll do this and say 'we're working on it' which TECHNICALLY isn't a lie; until the newest gen consoles mostly phase out the old gen then they can go 'Nah it's fine, no one plays on old gens anyway!'
Very pessimistic and very cynical. But that's what BHVR has made me think about their company and development progress.
Last gen consoles basically can't play this game right now, it's atrocious how bad this game is. They need to recognise this issue and give us a roadmap for fixing it, they DO love their arbitrary time constraints as seen with a number of their DLC's after all.
Worst thing is with the 5th anniversary patch on the new loading screens I'm seeing 'quotes' from BHVR staff AND THERE IS PEOPLE WHOSE JOB TITLE IS PLAY TESTING AND QA. WHAT.

She's absolutely a problem and needs looked at but no one wants her gutted.
Other than the obvious problem of the 0 counterplay ability what I see as one big problem is her passive phasing. It's not bad that she phases randomly because that's visually interesting.
What is very unhealthy for the game is how little input, in this case 0, with he constantly active passive. The bad thing about it is that it RANDOMLY gets rid of the red stain. This is absurdly powerful at loops and there's no input from the spirit player to make this happen. It's not a mind game, it's just a silly passive that often makes a massive difference in games with 0 input or counterplay.

Turn the settings way down to low and everything is hyper bright compared to console/high settings.
It's ######### ridiculous how unfair it is.
-
Play without brightness settings and that's how console players see it!
#GiveConsoleBrightnessSettings
-
Because my team mates, I play solo surv, got rid of a Billy's ruin/undying within the first 7 minutes of the game.
He decided to stare me down on first hook until I was dead xD

It's a playbalance consideration. If you could turn it off or even down, it would be an advantage over people who didn't since it would not muffle the sounds of the Survivors.
Now let's translate this over to the visual, and subsequently brightness settings that PC players have access to that console players do not.
It's interesting to see that this has been addressed as an imbalanced option but console settings haven't.
-
Because it's OP AF.
I'm pretty sure that perk being active all the time is a bug and BHVR STILL haven't addressed this game-breaking perk?!
Shame on you BHVR
-
I think this would be fair, I've wanted that change for a while (I play killer & surv).
It just makes sense to help counter hook camping, also not to mention Freddy getting a free counter to borrowed time simply by existing.
-
I don't see anyone calling SWF unbeatable but I can definitely say going against a SWF isn't fun 90% of the time.
The amount of information they get for free while running efficient perk setups is unfair. The fact they call out totem spots, killer location, gen locations...it's like having 4 rainbow maps for free. The only saving grace is that some SWF's either meme around too much or are way too altruistic.
A weird comparison but SWF is basically just nurse; the game wasn't made nor changed to be able accommodate it and so it breaks a lot of the rules put in place and sucks all of the fun out of the other side's game.
-
67 at the moment, on that grind for that fabulous Yui hair <3
I've only done this rift and the one previous. The one before this, V I think? Was ######### awful.
-
My main problem with being a console player is the fact we have to deal with extremely dark maps because our settings are stuck on max.
When we're trying to hide because we're completely shadowed on our screen a PC player with their brightness ramped up sees us clear as day.
-
Not an opinion as such but the fact that pc players have this kind of attitude to people who are playing on console that they're not good or 'casual'
Like...pal...we have a terribly optimized, dark-as-######### laggy version of dbd, of course we're gonna either mess up or just not have to take it so seriously.
One quote that stuck with me from OhTofu was during a gameplay review where he finally viewed a console player and a few times just had to stop and say 'Holy...your game is like...REALLY dark dude...'
Kinda made me realise that maybe a lot of people who play on pc don't have a clue about what console players have to put up with.
To tie into this, the opinion that BHVR apparently has of 'Console doesn't exist'
-
I have the same frustration as well, it's not nice and I reckon it all boils down to BHVR not having a vision for their game. There's no set objective so it's all over the place and some killers just like to get the one hook kills and other swf teams just like to rush gens and t bag at the exit gates.
It's tough on both sides and it's hard to find that balance between stomping and being stomped that makes the game rewarding and fun atm.
That being said I do a few things to lessen the frustration.
-Play with a friend if you play survivor, just a duo is fun to play with and you can take the game less seriously if there's someone there to keep you level-headed and discuss your frustrations with or just meme a bit.
-Play the other side, just play the other side of the game if one is being very frustrating, that usually helps keep things in perspective for me
-Take a break, obvious and simple but it's necessary sometimes. Just be glad you're not one of those streamers who is now stuck only playing this game to be able to keep their channel/stream alive. Play something else. I hear Civ is a good game.
-Dont go in expecting to survivor or 4k. Set a low goal like simply doing a rift or getting mettle of man to proc, god bless Scoot Bund patron saint of mettle of man and flops. This helps me to focus on something else and by passively using what I know to get that goal I'm learning and achieving my goals.
It's difficult not to get frustrated in this game since by its nature it is a pyramid of difficulty and frustration of solo queue, killer then swf and no in-between with no set 'win' condition officially stated. Just try to have fun and if you're queuing up again like a gambler who lost again and again just cut your losses and take a break. A lot of doing well in this game is mentality.
TL;DR: Take breaks, play the other side, find a duo partner and set lesser achievable goals rather than getting out or killing everyone every game. This isn't life or death, just take it easy and remember that it's a silly arcade-y game about trying not to get stabbed by spider legs before you can pull a lever for 12 seconds :)
-
Playing on PS4 and basically losing the match because there was more than 2 effects going on at any given time. Or maybe bloodlust kicked in and the game freezes for 1.5 seconds which means another 30 seconds of looping for them.
Seriously the devs have forgotten about console, it's ridiculously dark and un-optimized.
It frustrates me that I lose because of the game screwing me over rather than me making mistakes
-
Yeah, hadn't played killer in a while so went back but all I got was 4 man swf squads with insta heals and matching meta perks.
Flashlight clicking all the way to the exit gates.
I'm just trying to do better as killer guys, you don't need to all run around flashlight clicking because you know you've won, holding the game hostage at one gen left.
-
Wait so are you informing people that they should bring this build every game on the off chance it's a spirit?
Or are you trying to justify playing spirit because you know she's very powerful for little skill input?
I don't know what the point of this post was but as others have said:
-Perks are NOT counterplay
-Just because someone has played for 500 hours less than you doesn't mean their opinion is invalid
-We don't need direct nerfs, not big ones anyway, to her kit. We just need some form of counterplay to her like every other killer has in some form, something to be able to react to
This game is not about winning, it's about fun and feeling that satisfaction of being able to outplay or learn from mistakes. When going against a spirit you know that they didn't really have to try and all you can do is guess and hope it works which isn't fun or skilled.
Players want to be able to express their skill in the game and when all you can do is guess and hope it works it's frustrating. People need to get this idea of 'if they want what I like changed they're salty and I'll drink their salty tears' out of their head, they've delved too far into toxicity
At some point you have to think about whether you're playing for fun or just playing to lessen other people's fun and as much as a lot of people like to say that they enjoy ruining others fun, are you though?
I don't think you are, but that's just my opinion
-
Ehhh I don't think it's bankable at all but if you have crossplay disabled it might be a bit of a ######### move.
I really don't think BHVR care about console at all, half the maps are so dark everyone is a blendette so you may as well use m&k.
As long as cross play is enabled it's not a problem at all in my opinion.
-
I don't drink but I'd go out for a nice meal with Demogorgon for sure :)
See if it leads to a cumogorgon ;)
-
The real question is: Why does it matter if they're male or female?
-
Killer - Depends who I'm playing since massive maps ######### you over as a slow killer but generally cold wind maps
Survivor - Hawkins because I can't find.my way around and Shelter woods because it's just random rocks for 80% of the map
Overall though I hate it when there's a map offering, it's just like 'oh god they've made a build JUST for this map.
-
I think we can close this thread so we can stop feeding the real toxicity here, that snap tobydoby guy.
Nothing good to say but to start arguments, spends more time on the forums arguing than playing the game.
I think we've discussed the topic enough :)
-
Yes
-
It's not toxic' but you HAVE to be aware of how much of a crutch iri head is and how much less if a game the survivors will be getting.
You really have to be in the mood to put up with a range insta down the size of a whale for 10-20 minutes.
It's not toxic' it's just taking a lot of the skill out of the ability and thus a lot of the fun out of the game when one mistake means you're down.
-
Isn't it confirmed that the next killer/survivor combo isn't licenced?
I genuinely don't know so *shrug*
-
I reckon that's fair since I don't think there's a way for the game, a BHVR game especially, to determine whether you've left or crashed.
It's also a fair point to make that if it's crashing that often maybe look into why it's crashing before starting another game?
It's unfortunate but I'm pleased there's a ban for DC's
-
I play in a PS4 pro and have had these freezes almost every match. It usually coincides with some effects on screen or something.
As a survivor I've had freezes on skill checks with gens, when the game seems to 'catch up' with itself when the killer swings as if it's like 'Hold up I gotta just calculate whether you got hit there...' and especially against hag which is just a massive jolt of effects and sounds. Hag traps freeze a lot of the time on certain maps.
As a killer it always freezes when bloodlust kicks in. I haven't played killer much since the de sync, it just doesn't seem right but it's always done little jitters and freezes that ######### me over sometimes. Quite often when I swing for a survivor, it's the main reason I don't play legion, you NEED to hit that frenzy stab and on console it's just unreliable.
TL;DR - I play on PS4 Pro and I get stutters all the time on both sides.
-
I'm usually very hesitant to start saying 'toxic bad, no be toxic' because it literally doesn't matter if they're 'toxic' because it's usually a detriment to them. But its not fun when it starts affecting the fun you're having. Lately I've seen A LOT of camping.
Clown with one gen done puts me in the basement and just camps the shack until I'm dead on first hook.
Lots of spirits who tunnel off hook every time.
But the worst offenders since the de sync patch BY FAR is Bubba players. There could be 2 people on separate gens and no or maybe 1 gen currently done. But every single Bubba simply patrols a 20ft area around the first hooked survivor and just comes back, chainsaws and puts them
right back on hook.
Is there something about getting P3 Bubba that makes you unable to leave a hook ever? xD
I play on console btw and even amounts of both but since the desync I haven't played killer much at all.
