It's weird, all horror that I grew up with is now rated awfully on modern websites, all the classics, sure most of them were terrible but they were great terrible.
-
Nah my games have been really good so far with the added bonus of playing a much wider variety of killers and seeing the difference in the match based on my time played on them.

This is why I removed the ability for people to message me on PS4, if I want salt I'll check a vod if they have twitch.
Also a word of warning, modded consoles can grab your IP as soon as you message back and then some kid pays $20 on their mums credit card to have you knocked offline for a few hours, generally not worth the hassle.

AMn I would think bnefore tryin to flip something on someone when its claer u know survs have basicly been given to much easy ######### to win.
I mean I'm trying not to be mean here but most killers aren't crying about loops or chases, I would advise you spend some time learning tiles and how to mind game tiles and then chases become a lot more fun and involving for both parties.

Spoken like a ture surv main, the loop and cahse is ok but gets boring very qucikly when the survs are basiclyt handed so many tools to be cheap. So this is while killer champ etc.
Man I would at least check someone's recent post history before I called them a main and made myself look stupid.
-
Hey baby it's a gen party put down the gun and start cranking
-
It's fine you just have to put a lot more hours into some killers than you would on kbm to reach the same level but the end result is close enough.
-
@SRGII said:
Will the devs ever make getting pallet camped & looped fun?
My favorite part of playing killer is the chases if you find looping so unpleasant you have picked a hard role to play.

Perk: Get me out of here
Once per trial when activated the entity will teleport you to the other side of the map within 10 seconds of being unhooked, you become exhausted and can't interact with gens and suffer from the blindness status effect for 60 seconds.

title, literally punishing people for doing a little bit better by making them play against people who seem to be earning money with the game on an already unbalanced, non comp, casual party game, can they understand that? MMR makes sense if the game was balanced and is not. change my mind, u most likely wont because im right.
is terrible for both sides but especially for survivors getting forced to play agaisnt same 3 to 5 killers who always play the same, only SWF will be viable. this cant be.
You'll have to play a lot better than "a little above average" to find yourself in the hellzone so don't worry if you play casually you don't really have much to worry about.

Real question. Isn't my objective to eliminate players when I'm on killer?
No, your objective is to squeeze as much crushed hope and suffering as possible from each survivor for the entertainment of the entity which is why she docks your pay if you don't put a lot of effort into extracting as much as possible from each survivor and just outright murder them.

It's hilarious that you think you know what 90% of the forum think. It's also hilarious that you think you know who others face. It's also hilarious that you think that your own MMR is high enough that you are sure that "Most of my games were against 3/4 stacks". Ohhh the irony... So, tell me, how much light is there in that place where you pull all that "knowledge" from?
I know they were stacks because I went to their twitch streams to say gg after the games and it's a fact in the history of all competitive MMR based video games that 90% of the player base statistically exist in the lowest 2 brackets/divsions, believe it or not you actually have to be quite exceptional to rise above average in online games.
-
90% of the player base are not going to be playing at the elo where what you describe will be a factor. A small group of people raise valid concerns about what they will face at the top mmr and suddenly everybody thinks it applies to them, it doesn't.
-
Nurse isn't that hard until you face very competent survivors who will challenge her blinks where you need to hit a certain skill level to deal with but once you hit that point they don't stand a chance. Competent survivors can smell baby nurses a mile off though so before you get there it can be hella frustrating.
I think blight is pretty on par with nurse it's just different and it's a bit easier to do okay with him earlier on.
-
Well I've had a very enjoyable evening of playing all different killers and getting games that more accurately reflect the time I've spent on each one. Most of my games were against 3/4 stacks but all the games were pretty chill against solid teams and no potato's.
It's hilarious that 90% of this forum think their MMR would be anywhere near high enough to only face the blight/nurse/spirit sweat zones ( it's not ).
-
@InsatiableMop said:
I should also not this is with bond on so i could see them all literally standing around crouched behind stuff not once on or leaving a gen.
There's a special MMR bracket for blendettes now so all blendies get put in the same games together, you'll never see a gen pop again.

If can guess what rank color each survivor with 90% success when playing as killer. Perhaps you need to gain more experience if you can't tell the difference between rank 5 and 15. I also had troubles with that when I just started.
Yes that's my point, it's very easy to tell the real red ranks and the booster ones, that's why ranks are hidden now to spare feelings, that was cute what you tried to do there though.
-
@tester said:
But we can still ask:
Just had game with ranks 5, 9 and 15.
Another one was 6 ,18, 20.
It's now obvious why they are hiding them.
Yes because they don't want to hurt boosted red ranks feelings when they realize they perform on average at the same level as rank 12s but have simply put more hours into the game that month.
-
In fairness to the content creators, they generally have 1000s of hours and are exceptionally good at the game, a real MMR system could result in them having 20 minute que times and when they do get a game they have to face the reality that in the top 5% of all players the game really falls apart in a balance respect where a hardcore swf of survivors will be in and out in 5mins and even the best killer will struggle to secure a 1 kill that the survivors won't even try to save as loosing that one guy is part of the 5 minute strategy.
As this doesn't effect me I'm enjoying the MMR, but bhvr are going to have to address all the ways the game breaks in the top bracket moving forwards with sbmm, if they actually do then overall it will be a positive change, if they carry on as they always have then there won't be anyone left playing the game at that level which can be a death sentence for any game.
-
Random question Mandy, in red ranks you can easily tell the people who were boosted from heavy swf versus the solo que monsters who climbed themselves. Will the guy who's boosted just have an inflated MMR and face much scarier killers in solo que or is the MMR taken only from solo play ?
-
Good games so far, I actually kind of prefer not seeing the ranks, takes away excuses and let's me just focus on what happened during the game.
-
So for the people who've watched the movie ( I'm only familiar with his origin ) what would his power be ?
-
By all means do what you think is best but I struggle to understand this sentiment, I am too old for FNAF I can't stand it and everything it represents to horror, however, as long as the killer is fun then I couldn't careless if we get a animatronic added to the game, it will make a bunch of people happy and DBD will still be DBD.
The more variety in killers the more fun is added to the game, hell even a FNAF themed map wouldn't exactly look any different then any of the other maps we have.
If it's a point of lore well I'm pretty sure the multidimensional space demon that can summon people from any time/reality is also capable of creating beings from fiction.
Either way good luck
-
Not implementing sbmm from the very beginning and then balancing from the top down including giving solo que emotes so they could coordinate with each other making it easier to blanket balance swf/solo together against the killer.
These are things they are going to have to do in the future once sbmm has settled but it would have been far easier to do from the beginning.
-
The 2 most powerful killers in the game are female ?

The one in dbd probably isn't either. When it comes down to it the players want jacked up PH, & the devs have yet to deliver.
I genuinely thought his amazing looking skin was the jacked up version, you can have him you just gotta swipe the credit card, speaking of which I really want that skin coz it looks amazing so accepting skin donations.

Isn't the first time PH is seen in Silent Hill he's banging a Nurse? Seems pretty sexual to me.
No he's murdering a mannequin but a lot of people took that as a sexual assault scene because it looked so bizarre.

Hey now when I see a massive ripped dude with a massive triangle on his head dragging a massive sword towards me looking all vascular my survival instinct kicks in and tells me to run for my life, if your response is to start jerking off more power to you but I'm out.

He's sexual in nature. A fat ass is what he's supposed to have
He is not anyway sexual in nature he is a reflection of a desire for self punishment and relates to murder, there were plenty of reflections of repressed sexual urges in silent hill and phead wasn't one of them.
However if his booty brings people joy then go wild.

I mean then what's the point of the forum if not to discuss these things. The OP is stating the objectively better way to approach a game as a killer when you see a key if trying to win, and asking why the majority of the killer community on these forums resorts to tunneling them. Some people say they just want to watch the key carrier burn, cool if that's your reason. I'm trying to help the rest of the people that think its the most effective way to win a key game see why its not.
And objectively the most effective way to win a match is to make it a 3v1 as quickly as possible, so removing keys in such a cruel manner is in the killers interests.
-
It's definitely not, it just looks normal now where I think the people who were sexualizing him wanted it much bigger.
-

Keys aren't letting them skip much though unless you enable it by tunneling, which is what the thread is asking. If you don't tunnel someone out early, then they still have to do all 5 gens.
I'm not really sure why you're fighting this so hard, you're not going to convince anyone.
-
@The_Krapper said:
The advantage they have is ease of use, it's easier to play survivor/killer on controller but once you master the kb& mouse the advantage goes to the PC player because they have more control over the character, better sensitivity and better frames
Only thing I have to correct you on here is survivor camera usage, you can be good at chases on console eventually but learning chase camera control on sticks is 100x harder than mouse, much like hatchets/nurse etc, all doable and you can get very good but it's like an extra few hundred hours of practice over mouse using players.
Edit: should also mention if the Xbox/PS4 users doesn't have an external SSD drive they play DBD off then they are always disadvantaged by the frames/performance loss and no controller benefit balances that out.

This is where I think red rank has bloat. The survivors that deserve to be in red ranks will just sit there on gens because thats how you punish a killer tunneling/camping.
And it rarely happens, maybe there will be one guy on gens in solo que, if it's swf though which is where I generally see most the keys you have no need to leave the proximity of the hook because you're surrounded.
For me personally though I just equip Franklyn's and deal with keys that way I find it far easier and you get the added effect of wrecking everyone else's items at the same time but I don't think a lot of people read the patch notes about keys from last patch.

But I thought this game was survivor sided? All I read about is 3 gens popping in the time it takes to down one person, shoot 60s chase, 7s hook, 2 minutes of chilling on the hook that's enough time to do 5 gens much less since they only will have 3 at this point they only need to do 4 to turn that key on.
Yeah you're dreaming if you think all survivors don't stop gens and come to your hook and not do the one thing they are supposed to do in such a situation, especially on the first hook where they haven't sussed you out. I don't personally do this generally and a lot don't in the name of survivor fun, but plenty do especially in red ranks because there is nothing more OP than the early 3v1.
-
I play on console and originally played on PC and there's no difference, it's just high sensitivity and making sure the massive hit register grid infront your camera flicks around to register a hit on the spinning guy during the last few frames of the attack, if anything I'd say it takes longer to get the hang of on console but the end result is the same.

Its only a fast game if you tunnel someone out my guy :)
This is some rank 20 killer games logic, there is a big difference between a noob being obsessed with kills due to lack of game knowledge and wasting the entire match on one guy and a red rank killer swiftly making it a 3v1 ridiculously reducing the odds of the survivors winning.
The difficulty difference in a real game of a 4v1 and a 3v1 is extreme especially on a 3 gen.
-
Long que times for survivors as all events are over so all the event farming killers have gone back to survivor. I imagine all the event farming will also have caused a lot of burn out as well making it longer.
Instant ques on killer though.
-
I think all the skins are pretty good but I'm all about beach day hillbilly.
-
The most op thing a killer can do is remove one player from the game as quickly as possible, a lot don't in the name of fun and not tunneling, if you bring a key you've given me less time to work with in the game so such charity can no longer be afforded, it's only fair the one who brought the key is the one who has to suffer the unpleasantness of a hasty removal.

Yes but then you deal with cancel animation time, and the survivor gets the vault or whatever scott free. Or they run in you to where you can't even tell what the heck is happening. Did they go through me, in me, around me? Why can't I hear them when they're 1 millimeter from me?
After you play long enough survivors getting too close to you or "spinning" you becomes a lot less effective, you literally just have to flick to the side and you'll hit them 99% of the time without even thinking about doing it, if that seems impossible to you your sensitivity maybe too low.
-
Honestly all I care for is a fun killer for both sides, where he comes from means little to me.
-
Most abilities that require precision literally make survivors run into you if you just threaten to use it so I don't think it's that bad...

Any reason other than "to hide the evidence when the system doesn't work" is a straight up lie.
If you genuinely believe that I think the entire concept has completely gone over your head. The feedback needs to be based on your experience during the game and not your confirmation bias at the end of the match.
The sheer number of swf boosted people who I see in red ranks who do not belong there and do not perform like the rest of their team mates is insane and demonstrates really well how broken the current system is which is inherently unfair on the other survivors as they are playing a 3v1. Sure you might get a few spaghetti games while it settles but that is no different than placement matches in every single other online ranked system in every other game but DBD on the market.
