  • I had a SWF try to bully me earlier. The best strategy is to either fight fire with fire, or just not play their game. They want to be toxic, just let them. They'll get bored when it doesn't go how they want it to.

Its why I don't understand why there is a DC penalty for killers. If a killer dcs, the game is over. It is just prolonged torture when a toxic swf goes against a newer killer...

  • @tactic said:

speaking of the red stain being the only thing making them look like a killer, it's actually a strategy used by a few pig mains to crouch & hide your snoot while slightly concealed (if you were crouched behind some corn, for example) so people don't immediately recognise you as the killer when you go up to them.

..I don't think it works in higher ranks, but it's interesting and has gotten me once or twice before.

It does, but a quarter of the time they wisen up. However, many of them still struggle with it because it is so unorthodox and counterintuitive for Legion...

  • Dark devotion is amazing on Legion. I use it in my tryhard build, and it is effective against most people, but it does mess with your base kit, because your KI readings (heartbeat readings) are attached to the TR, not a strict radius around you.

If you are good at legion though, definitely give it a shot!

Its a "good" and "OP" perk for the survivors ranks 11-20. The perk is basically "wall hax" after every time a survivor is HOOKED.

When you play up there in the higher ranks (1-10). The perk is USELESS and a pathetic excuse for "MORE POINTS". The Killer has to be HOOKING survivors for it to work. If you don't have survivors being hooked it (BBQ) does NOT trigger. The perk contributes nothing to the chases in the match and points GENERATED from winning chases, downing survivors and landing hits. is never going to equal out between having it as a filler, and having another perk that makes a killer that much more powerful.

By the time a person reaches rank 8, 6, 4 and 1. You shouldn't be relying on "locator/radar" perks to find players. We already know where they are at. REPAIRING generators and RESCUING their team members. SWF (Survive With Friends) teams are going to play out in the open and not worry about crouching behind obstacles. They are going to try and find a flashlight as quickly as possible. Send one team member off to ABUSE the killer in chases, and try to keep the killer busy. While generators are being completed.

Since thana and RUIN are (ruined lol) it pretty much now relies on the killer to use perks to win chases. While if it is that bad and you can manage your chase time. A minor "information" perks such as Crows or maybe even Discordance. And even then. Those might not even HELP in the locating of players around an object such as a generator. But it is MUCh better than BBQ and Chili. Because lets face it.....

YOU HAVE TO HOOK THE SURVIVOR FIRST - BEFORE IT WORKS!!

    1. the auras are 40m away, and only 4 seconds long. That really isn't much but a nudge in the right direction. However, good killers, can still find them by observing the environment and use the audio (when it isn't broken) to locate survivors.
    2. There are plenty of counters. They are there, but it is up to you to use them. If you get caught by BBQ, it is on you.
    3. If you are complaining about the hook requirement, you just need to down survivors better.

And, on top of that, why are you saying it should be a hex perk of all things?! You say it's weak, but are wanting it to be weaker...? What is the logic there?

  • My favorite deathslinger build is the bounty hunter build:

Remember Me, Furtive Chase, Nemesis, and Rancor.

The gens are going to get done, nothing you can do about that as a deathslinger. All you have to do is keep your eye on the obsession and tunnel them down. That will be ever changing throughout the match, due to furtive + nemesis, and it should be easy to down them quickly. If you focus on just getting your obsession, and getting 4 stacks of furtive, that is what I consider a win.

Also, this works really well on corn maps, since you will see the aura of the new obsession all the time, allowing you to pick up the trail, maybe snipe through corn... just have fun.

Also, you get to mori people and keep track of where they are with rancor. You might be able to get multiple moris with nemesis, as when the obsession changes, so to does the rancor effect!

I don't use addons with him. He is like nurse to me, get used to addons too much, and you will never get good with him, but that is just my opinion.

  • Maybe as survivor skin replacements, but I wouldn't say for killers. Then again, I am against the concept as Legendary skins are greedy to begin with.

The same way the people on these forums making multiple accounts to spam FNAF posts is legit? Lol. Yeah, sure.

So people who have similar opinions are just alt accounts now? Nice logic.

  • @HarleyQuinn said:

Is the petition legit or are there a bunch of bots and alt accounts making the numbers go up? I might be wrong but it seems unbelievable to me that THAT many people want a FnAF chapter 🧐

Most likely bots and alt accounts. It's why petitions like this aren't taken seriously.

Just because you, yourself do not want this, does not mean others don't. How many people wanted Pyramid Head in the game before his reveal?

    @HarleyQuinn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1410397#Comment_1410397

Wrong. It just seems like an absurd number for a simple DBD petition. There’s been many petitions for DBD and they don’t usually gain a whole lot of traffic. So this, to me, seems like a lot of bots and alt accounts. Again, I said I could be wrong, so don’t go assuming sh*t so quickly.

Also, FNaF is a pretty big fandom. They would be attracted to the idea of more content... and playing as the main antagonist of the series for once would be an incredible opportunity for them.

As someone who signed the petition legitimately, it is insulting to just have our efforts discredited as bots. That insult has been thrown all over the place as of late, and it is a very lazy insult at that.

  • @skarsguts said:

Why do people want "horror"-furries in the game? That have a fanbase consisting of 11 year olds?

Robbie the rabbit is significantly older than that, yet they are in the game. And William Afton is not a furry. Just a performer/engineer/serial killer in a kids pizzaria.

If you are going to try to talk smack, I would actually look into what I would be arguing against. At least have a fundamental understanding of the character first, and see why people are wanting them added.

Yes because having no way to see what the other side is doing and getting killed for that is balance. So is not being able to loop literally anything because you're slowed down all the time.

Spirit is about mindgames and audio (which is bugged for killers more than half the time)... as well as looping differently to most killers. Why would you loop a spirit like a Wraith, or billy? You have to change your strategy on the killer. Spirit is fine. She used to be better, but then her addons got obliterated.

Freddy, though... some of his addons are just not fun to go against. But playing him at a low level is also really not fun. However, if you keep trying to loop a freddy at a trapped loop, you only have yourself to blame there.

It doesn't have to be scary enough to get into DBD. At this point DBD is no longer a 'scary game'. Stranger Things isn't necessarily scary yet they changed Demogorgon to be scarier. If need be they can amp up the characters horror aspects to fit what they want.

This game stopped being scary when the Robbie Legion skins got out.

  • Even then, those solutions would not encourage their use as long as the cages remove the status. Survivors should not get a bonus for doing something they should be doing already. I think there should be something like Freddys clocks, where there is an optional objective to get rid of the status, but it does not stop them from doing what they normally do.

This, plus making torment easier to apply, would make a natural slowdown that PH does not have right now.

    So.

Your response to a perfectly understandable complaint to a buggy mechanic that doesn't register most of the time is 'git gud'?

I'm sorry, how exactly are them 'getting gud' going to assist in helping them reveal ghostface if the mechanic is less understood than it possibly is?

To be fair, it was not worded like a legitimate complaint.

And you can indeed get gud. Use your eyes more or bring Spine chill if you really need help with stealth killers.

  • I would replace Thana and Blood Echo with Dark Devotion and Forced Penance. Dark Devotion actually screws with survivors really easily, and Forced Penance is ridiculously easy to proc with Legion in particular. So easy, in fact, that the game sometimes doesnt have a concrete name for a Forced Penance proc.

  • I liked a different one better, but both artists put in a great amount of work.

  • I kind of wish console even had the chance to get it... but I hope you get it back.

Hes the one who made that flashlight bs a thing? He's dead to me

You didn't know that? He also has a presence on the forums, although I forget their name...

  • Undetectable killers and Oblivious survivors with BT cannot make use of BT.

  • @LeftPreston said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1403160#Comment_1403160

yeah hes a little better since the recent buff. But he's still missing a lot in regards to balancing

I really meant that as a joke. That guy is the same one responsible for no timing require flashlight and pallet saves. He clearly balances for newer players, not higher ranks, where the majority of issues are.

  • Finally, my experience as a Legion main is actually useful!

    Fun build:

Mad Grit, Agitation, Forced Penance, Iron Grasp

    Weird Build:

Fire Up, Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, Enduring.

    Tryhard Expert Build:

Pop, BBQ, Dark Devotion, and Corrupt.

Only try this one when your good enough with legion and confident with Frenzy... Dark Devotion messes with the KI readings like it does with Docs Static Blast.

Oppressive Iri Button (Red addon) Builds:

Overcharge, Unnerving Presence, Distressing, and Surge

Coulrophobia, Sloppy, Thana, and Dying Light.

  • @katerbater said:

Yeah but Alessa doesn't actually wear Heather's/Cheryl's clothes?? She's a separate being. But it still doesn't make sense that they would restrict these so much. maybe forcing us to buy them together? yeah ok, but not being allowed to customize further? that's dumb.

Its not dumb, it is greedy. If they allowed you to get the individual parts, they will not get as much money.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

It is entirely possible that this is not something which came from BHVR. Maybe it was part of the LIcense Deal that Outfits should not be mixed with other Outfits.

Or it came from the suits at the top of the company, enforced onto the devs. I mean, they had their over-expensive shop, a battle pass, and now these skins. Either way, they are here now.

  • Legion is probably the best killer for this perk. They can force protection hits in a way no other killer can. However, it is still extremely situational.

  • Well, the guy in charge of balance did say he was underrated...

  • I would rather anti tunnel, because it encourages the killer to spread out their attention, instead of just focusing on one. DS is said to do this, but it fails because once it is gone, it is gone for good.

I also feel like it is too utilitarian for its own good. To easy to use & abuse.

  • Killer:

Normally, I would have my fun obsession build, but as you banned Rancor for some reason, I have to abandon it.

I have been having fun with this build though: Forced Penance, Mad Grit, Blood echo, and Huntress Lullaby.

Forced Penance is actually a really good perk. There is no cooldown, and it tracks the progress of the last person who took a protection hit... and legion actually forces protection hits a lot with frenzy. It can replace the Legion Pin, and is more applicable in a match. Blood Echo and Mad grit go well for obvious reasons... but lullaby is my only gen perk. It also allows me to a hit more easily as they have to focus on the skill checks... if it works.

  • Im a Jeff and Legion main. I really liked the Darkness Among Us, and its clear inspiration from Marble Hornets

The thing is with a fnaf chapter, what would be springtrap power? In the games the animatronics are attracted to koud sounds. This was one mechanic that the player also used to keep springtrap away (that hello sound in fnaf 3).

So maybe when survivors makes a loud sounds springtrap goes into a frenzy and runs towards the place where the sound came from. But all over the map there Will be certain boxes that can make a hello sound that also triggers springtrap ability (so Basically survivors are going to use these boxes to bait springtrap to go to the wrong side of the map).

Another quostion for a fnaf chapter would be who the survivor is? Maybe the nightguard from FNAF3?

If I were to make a power for him, it would be this:

    Movement speed: 115

It would be divided into three parts:

    1: a phase:

When survivors cant see him, he can phase across a long distance to another place survivors cant see. This would make an effect similar to how he camera hops in FNaF 3.

    2: A frenzy:

When in a chase, the phase would be replaced with a mechanical frenzy (or there is another button for it) which allows him to move faster to get a hit. He is not a legion, so he cant vault pallets (or windows faster). He cant break pallets in frenzy, and it only causes one state of damage.

    3: The Suits:

Like Pigs headtraps, he has his own slowdown mechanic. When a survivor is downed, he can place a springlock suit on them, giving them a 3 minute timer. If a survivor make too much movement (sprint/working on objectives), the timer moves down. Standing still does not move the timer. They must seek out a person without a suit to get it off. There can only be 2 suits active at any time, and the process of taking the suit off takes a long time, as the survivors must be delicate to not accidentally trigger the springlocks. There will be small, extremely difficult skill checks for the person taking off the suit, and missing them would be dire. Missing 1 would injure, 2 would break them for 2 minutes, and 3 would outright kill.

However, Springtrap cannot injure the people in the suits... but might be able to knock a few seconds off when nearby.

Just my thoughts. Makes more sense to me than survivors making noise notification simulator...

  • I love the historical killers, and having a mythological killer and a medieval killer would be rather cool. : )

  • Whispers is a really good perk no matter the killer, but if you are concerned about the noise, you could bring Stridor with it.

Whether or not you went against a SWF isn't a requirement for learning, it's an out. There's no reason that you can't learn from your mistakes against a SWF, and all that showing you at endgame would do is make killers that could be trying to improve shrug off losses and blame "OP SWF"

Its harder to learn any killer when going against a highly skilled team, as compared to going against solos. Knowing you went against a team allows a killer to at least understand that them being outplayed wasn't just because the survivors were extremely good, but also had voice comms so they could coordinate. There is a whole new level of difficulty when you bring SWF into an analysis of any game of dbd... It is not a guarantee to win, but it makes the win for survivors easier. Knowing who talked to who will let you know that they might do it again if you see them. That is, if they keep their name the same, as Steam can change names anytime.

Ignoring that is just an out as well, because then you are shifting blame from you to the obvious 4 man SWFs you go against all the time (even if you dont and the data would tell you that).

  • I think people forget that the fanbase has grown up in the years. Sure, they were obnoxious toward the beginning, but now they are probably around mid-late teens by now... and probably have left most of the cringe behind.

About the subject itself... I think it could absolutely work. It has the right aesthetic, the body horror is there, and there can be a wide amount of things one could make for their power.... It absolutely fits within the realm of the entity.

  • I think this is not necessary for a lovecraftian/slasher horror game. You can have your headcanons, but it should not be enforced for people who just don't care.

  • Just watch them finish a gen without stopping them. They usually understand you will not hurt them after that.

  • It gets worse when you get to red. Welcome to the veteran side of things.

They already do lol it’s called not leveling the perk up when you find it in the web

No, that is not what I meant. What if the bloodweb forces you to take Discordance tiers even if you don't want to? I was forced to on my P3 legion, so I cannot go back and reset them. Which means if I choose to use Discordance, I would not have a reliable way to track how long the gen will take... but hey, wanting to get all perks is a choice, right?

  • I feel like they are very clunky... it doesn't help on console, either.

  • @KnotEnthusiast said:

Oh hey, this guy's daily thread about SWF.

This one really isn't a complaint... more of an observation of a mechanic that should be there for the benefit of the killer post game. It is harder to win against a SWF for obvious reasons, so knowing that you went against that in the match can tell you at least something, so a killer can learn from the match, even if they lose.

  • @RizeAki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383693#Comment_1383693

Problem is that’s personal preference if they say did change it they would still have the same problem of people running t1 so they have less pings except those that like current t3 who have it t3 can’t reset back to 1 so it would ruin our experience with the perk

Then they should add the ability to choose what tier of each perk you want... that way people could choose what to use.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    I find this odd.

    I’m not being dismissive.

I just find it one of my favourite maps as killer in a long time.

Is it good for clown? Because it is great for legion...

  • I think that is the only character that could be added to the game from FNaF. I think it could work. But some people don't want it because they don't want the baggage from the fanbase... even though we already have a pretty toxic one anyway...

  • This is not a horror movie. If anything, it is similar to a lovecraft story and most of them do not have anything of the sort. It really has no place in the game.
