This will make matches way too easy to 4k, like it won't even be a challenge anymore. We won't have killers leaving because of nerfs, we'll have killers leaving because they're bored as hell.

    how is that?

  • This idea mechanic could allow deception plays and survivors must be more aware of what gens they do. this can allow deja vu to help out learning survivors more.

Usaully if they poppff quick they are dping outside gens or spawn togwther.Usaully its gets rough at 1 or 2 gens left and ive seen plenty of games on both sides where the sides choke but thats mainly to heroism or being 3genned i suppose

True usually the gens on the outside get popped first however this could go deeper into deceiving the killer. By doing 50% at a far gen the killer may be enticed to go there while survivors in the middle could work on the gens

Maybe it's an issue of ranking, but at my level it seems like it would be a huge deal, especially against perks like Pop. I think it would make the game less fun for newer survivors.

as a rank 1 killer and survivor there are some games i play where 2-3 gens get done within the first 2-3 minutes. dont know how it is at lower ranks

  • @tokenstreamer said:

I think its fine as is.teamwork is ideal as survivor.plenty of ways to stoppem

true however this would allow a killer to be more versatile in perk selection instead of running corrupt and thrilling temors

  • @malatruse said:

Is genrushing really widespread enough that measures like these need to be taken?

I honestly dont think its that big of change. It would significantly buff repressed alliance and allows a new mechanic that add ons and perks can be based around. 5 seconds isnt a long time and if a killer is in a chase or going to another gen other survivors will be completely safe. It would also allow more psychological plays. Let alone if the gen hasn't regressed past 25% then you only have to deal with it once per gen.

  • @JesterClown said:

The indicators are the best part imo, there are too many times where your just trying to find the gen being blasted and then its just “too late”. In that vain, tinkerer will need another buff with these changes.

Perhaps tinker will block the gen for 20 seconds at 50% and loud noise indicator while giving the killer undetectable for 15 seconds.

I don't think the devs know how to stop, or even when to stop, when it comes to nerfing. It 'can't' juts be the addons, right? At least, in their minds.

Nor do I think they actually know how to make decent addons anymore. Look at Demo. Poor guy could use some serious help with his setup. Half of Nurse's addons are trash, with four for farming. Now Billy's lineup? I'd really like to have whatever dev create those sit down, talk about Billy, his power, and then the addon pass. Would be interesting.

I agree this game is full of uninspired add ons. I only use two nurse add ons, the one for fatigue and recharge speed. Billy had decent add ons but some needed help

  • Maybe its because i dont run him. I would say after patch for the bubba buff he may be the worst. I just never succeeded a lot with demo. but then im a nurse main and I think nurse is in a great place so what do i know

It means exactly what I typed, it does not work. I press CTRL to activate Blood Fury and there is no response from The Oni.

Try it yourself, happens quite often. Basically I end up being M1 killer.

Fair point, they have done some ok things, now let's look at their failures.

    1. Ruin is a late game perk

    2. Matchmaking broken for 6 months and counting

    3. Slugged survivors not making noise for 6 months and counting.

    4. Billy phantom chainsaw and camera glitch

    5. Releasing oni bugged, getting sales, then nerfing him.

    6. Nerfing pyramid head right after release.

    7. Million nurse bugs

    8. Wraith sound bug

    9. The great wall of haddonfield

    10. Totems that spawn in front of survivors

    11. Legion nerfs

The list of bugs are endless. Yeah, they've done some decent things, but they also ignore game breaking problems for months, but only for killers. Survivor game breaking bugs are fixed instantly.

As a nurse main what bugs are you talking about? The only one i noticed is you cant teleport onto the dock on the swamp.

Yes this is exactly what happened. Obviously I'm not sure if they cleansed in the last remaining pool because I wasn't keeping track of all my pools but it sure seems like they did. Is this an intended feature or is it a bug?

its an intended feature. It makes sure that if the killer doesnt use the pools, the survivors wont be screwed since they cant cleanse themselves.

  • yes, devour, pop, thrilling tremors, and agitation works great for me!

    !!!WARNING!!!

I am not a Survivor main, I actually play both sides and completely understand the fact that the Killers can be easily demolished by gen speed against amazing swf teams. In this post I am just complaining about how the repairing feels as solo Survivor sitting in red ranks.

HOLDING M1 HAS NEVER BEEN THAT BORING and lack of objectives.

Although all the gen speed nerfs developers have done so far are justified in the term of balance, all the changes have deepened the problem of the Survivors' main objective been very boring Let's look on how the gen speed was in 2016:

    • Repairing one gen took 70 seconds instead of 80.
    • Great Skill Checks gave 5% bonus to repair progression, not 1% like now.
    • Survivors had no any penalty for repairing together, now the penalty for each Survivor is -15%.
    • Also, Killers did not really have slow down perks.

Again, the gen speed was TOTALLY BROKEN AND UNCOUNTERABLE. However, it was not that butthurting for Survivors due to repair time being not that big. And hitting Great Skill Checks was something very satisfying. Also, with the sabotage mechanic which allowed to break hooks permanently (WHICH ALSO WAS UNBALANCED AS HELL), Survivors had plenty of things to do. The gameplay as them was a lot more interactive. What options do Survivors have now?

    • Focusing only on repairing (gen rush).
    • Cleansing Totems which mostly a prophylactic action. You can break all the totems and cpend so much time for nothing because Killer did not bring any Hex perk. If you do not use one specific perk called "Inner Strength", cleansing Totems does not give you anything other than Bloodpoints.
    • Sabotaging, like flashlights, is very situational and unreliable.

Although the number of actions Survivors now have is more by 1, the quality of them is very questionable.

Simply decreasing the gen speed is an easy solution, and extremely lazy. Due to lack of useful interactions and secondary objectives granting a great reward for their completion, and camping/tunneling being a common strategy right now, Survivors in most scenarious are forced to sit in one place and skillfully hold m1 to escape. How interesting and exciting!

UPD: I forgot to mention Killer perks directly affecting generators. They provide Killers with really nice tools to counter the gen speed and gain more time to deal with sweaty swf teams. I understand this, but I am sure there can be more ways other than impacting the most boring action in the whole game in a negative way. For instance - Survivors' Objectives overhaul.

You make a lot of valid points however they said they were in the works of a beginning game collapse of sorts. This should fix that issue.

I didn't say 5 shots, even with the most outrageous addon like that he would have 3

His reloading is also part of the problem with him. Survivors know that once he misses that one shot they've got plenty of time to put up to 32 meters if distance on him if he chooses to reload mid chase.

I don't know if aim assist would help so much as it would hurt him. As it stands survivors exploit the aim assist on most killers m1 attack by 360ing in a way that throws off the aim assist and caused missed attacks.

I personally think deathslinger just needs better iridescent add ons. The hellshire iron isnt helpful and the coin is semi helpful.

I would make the hellshire iron allow deathslinger to see the survivors aura for 5 seconds. It would make sense since you're "branding" the survivor.

For the iridescent coin, after downing a survivor whom was reeled in, you have a 50/50 chance to gain another shot in your rifle (free of reloading).

He's in a good spot right now but at most thats the only two things I would change and yes there are a lot more killers that deserve a buff right now.

  • I think thats a good change but I never use add ons on nurse so I wouldnt mind lol

You're going to give me a tumor with that parroted argument.

There is no mindless chainsawing or blinking. They never ever EVER give you reward (hits/downs) unless a survivor is literally walking in front of you. You always had to aim, time, and execute the maneuver to get ANY reward from it.

Im just saying 7 blinks was too much

Hve you ever tried playing Nurse?

It's awful, you have to go through your fatigue, and then wait for the cooldown.

If the cooling off mechanic is as slow as shown in the video, yeah, it's going to feel terribly playing Billy.

Nurse is fine, optimization is key to most killers. They're trying to make you think about how you play other killers now instead of aimlessly blinking around the map or in this case continuously chainsawing around the map.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

I think it would also be good for luck to make skill checks less likely to be at 3 o'clock and more likely to be 9 o'clock.

My last two matches on ps4 I placed traps after the gate was open but the survivors were still out in fields. I. E, not the doorway. Both times said players ran out the door with traps still on their heads, escapings to freedom. Am I doing something wrong? Do the traps have to be placed before the countdown?

I'm still just a baby pig but its hard to get any points if I cant work my trap things lol.

traps must be placed before the last gen pops. putting a trap on their head when the exit gates are open wont kill them.

    This video should help.

If you can't/won't watch it for whatever reason I can summarize.

Basically Whispers is insane because it lights up whenever you're within 32 meters of a Survivor.

This means no wasted time checking gens when you see Whispers off, an easier time finding slugged or hiding Survivors if you have map knowledge, and basically a free win if you can close the Hatch and they don't have a Key.

It does take awareness to use though; you shouldn't just be stumbling around looking for people as soon as it lights up. Keep track of when it lights up and you should be able to get a good idea of where the Survivor since you know they're 32 meters away from you.

It's also doubly helpful with experience since you'll start to get a feel for where Survivors like to hide as you play more.

Not only is Whispers strong; it's one of the better designed perks IMO: it's strong, but it requires something from you for you to be able to get value from it.

This perk is also great on trapper

I'm just going to list the things I noticed from watching your videos

-There's a lot of zooms and sound effects and some of them don't feel necessary. Overuse can take away the effect the zoom or sound effect is supposed to have.

-Your commentary is good. Not excessive and not too silent and it's also interesting to listen to.

-I like the music choices, just be wary of copyright claims and strikes

-The video format and editing style remind me of No0b3; it's not necessarily a good or bad thing, just an observation.

Overall, you've got a solid channel. I'm not sure how to grow it given YT's finicky algorithm and the high competition. Good luck with your channel!

    Perks I have available:

    Reasons:

    - Use NOED to down and hook survivor when gates are open. Blood warden activates, down the rest who camp at exit.

Any changes I should make would be more than welcome :)

This is my build and I can end a game within 2 gens sometimes. BBQ Chili, Haunted Grounds, Monitor and Abuse, and Infectious Fright. I actually did a video on it as well. Although you dont have all those perks, its something you should aim for.

true balancing could use a little help. I feel like there are a couple perks that people rely on. But I agree the health of the is the worst rn.

  • I play a nurse a lot but I have not noticed anything bugged with that add on. It could be but I barely use that add on in particular

  • @HollowsGrief said:

You know, I always disliked the "I'm uninstalling" posts that people put up when things don't go their way, favorite killer nerfed, stupid maps, etc etc. But after PH was added I have to say I actually just flat out do not enjoy the game anymore, at all. It isn't because of bad balance, or the fact that unfun maps like Ormand still existing. No, the game has actually become unplayable for me due to the overwhelming amount of game breaking bugs. These aren't even annoying bugs, they actually completely prevent you from even playing the game at a basic level. For all this game's terrible balance, toxic killer/survivor mains, etc, the one thing that I truly cannot put up with is the negligence in fixing bugs, it simply gets worse every single time they add new content.

If people want to argue that fixing bugs is hard, or takes time, or whatever that is fine, but at the end of the day it is the devs responsibility to see this issue resolved. It is very clear to me that the focus of this game is adding new content, be it chapters or cosmetics, that is fine a game like this needs that to survive, but not at the expense of basic health to the game. Please take some time off of your scheduled content release and focus on what is most important: fixing the broken mechanics. A game this fun with legitimately fun content being added, would be such a shame to see it die out early due to negligence.

I don't want anyone to think I am slinging insults at anyone, that isn't the case, but negligence isn't always, or even most of the time, malicious in nature, more often than not it is simply not even noticed. I am making this post to help make it noticed and to really put emphasis on how important something like this really is. It doesn't matter how fun your game is if it doesn't even work.

    -Best wishes.

I agree with you, although i still find the game enjoying, however the bugs do get in the way of the experience. I feel like this tuesday for the next update is the devs time to shine and fix a great majority of these bugs. I plan on uploading a video tomorrow with my thoughts on the matter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/166695/slippery-meat-is-the-most-outdated-perk

    It’s outdated, but not useless.

I’ve unhooked myself tonnes of times with slippery meat, up the ante, and a luck offering. (Because teammates are idiots that can’t be relied upon to not get to 2nd stage, or die on first hook).

it’s not always fair to compare deliverance as being a more reliable perk. Sometimes it’s not possible to get an unhook before the killer first hooks you. Sometimes you can be the very first survivor downed and hooked, in which case Deliverance was entirely worthless.

Very true, I have unhooked my self numerous times however the perk relies on another perk and an offering to be considered useful. The perk can be nice at times but I feel a considerate buff is needed. The only reason I bring up deliverance is, if you do get a safe hook rescue, you get the value of not wasting another perk slot and an offering yet you have a guaranteed unhook for yourself. Even if you compare both set ups together (Slippery meat + plus up the ante + luck offering vs. Deliverance) the slippery meat strat still has that small percentage to not work.

  • They could add the ability to walk through phantasm traps without triggering them (would still activate while running) and being able to walk through the corrupted trench from pyramid head.

Maybe like 7 seconds of haste status whenever you make a killer miss a hit?

Would fit the name of the perk and reward the survivor for skillfull plays.

I feel like that would be too long and would be abused. Maybe 2/3/4 seconds?

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Slippery Meat: After being unhooked or unhooking themselves, the survivor gains a 7% speed boost for 10 seconds. If the survivor is grabbed while performing an action, 10/15/20% of wiggle progression will be instantly applied.

damn thats actually a really good change.

  • Give the Devs a break guys. No game is perfect and especially with Covid happening and them having to work from home, it’s hard to develop a game. It also costs a large sum of money to send a patch through and all consoles have different time periods to have patches sent through. Sure it’s a big mess up with coding but give them a break don’t bully them. Just save your cakes and have fun with the game (even if it is a buggy mess rn)
