  • Damn...I don't know then. Just tired of these stupid window hits. With pallets I can understand and have seen when you're swinging right on their ass and then get stunned. Its not fun as survivor but drop earlier or just keep running. With windows you'll think you're safe because visibly you clearly should be but then you get hit.

  • It makes no sense for anything that isn't a flashlight's light to go through that area other than Trickter's knives and maybe DS's gun since it can pull through objects anyway.

  • @Iliketoplaykiller said:

More often than not I feel like I have the opposite experience with Windows when playing as killer.

Could be because you have a good connection or haven't mastered the bullshitery of knowing when to swing at windows. I brought up before how as killer I've learned that I can exploit the ######### if people are vaulting into shack during the standard loop and I lunge at an angle it almost always hits them despite them being near center of shack

You are right then I got outplayed. But imagine you run towards a survivor on a gen and the second he also sees or hears your TR he runs straight away from you, you need around 30-40sec until the survivor reaches the edge of the map, so ofc you will hit him and then he runs straight at the other direction of the map and well you need another 20-30 sec to reach him and hit him.

Now what is the interaction which is more fun? Holding W or mindgaming and getting outplayed or outplaying.

Whichever one keeps me alive. If I see you in the distance coming I run as soon as I see you to make the chase longer. It only benefits me and my team to do it why would anyone give you free distance to catch up and hit them? Anyone that does is foolish and not playing as effectively as they can.

predropping pallets and running in a straight line is hardly outplaying anything

also complaining about killers trying to actually play loops and mindgame is pretty pathetic like that's the entire point of the game?

Not complaining about killers playing loops. You can try doing that and I'll just keep running forward and avoid the mind games all together when I know I can because a lot of killers foolishly try the same mind games over and over.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Even smaller Maps? Ooof.

I mean, holding W should be fine, eh? Killer Mains did not like Looping and are telling Survivors to adapt. Now they did it, and it is wrong again?

Its crazy. They start doing all the moonwalking ######### and hiding red stain to swing at pallet and hope to hit you then see you way off in the distance and they don't like it xD. So now they complain that survivors are just holding W. Its called getting outplayed. Get use to it and deal with it

  • @bjorksnas said:

Its in a perfect spot, its a decently strong perk but it has plenty of bad match ups and counterplay

it does waste about 7 seconds of the killers time

1 second from the first kick

    4 second blind and stun

2 seconds from the 2nd kick

but honestly you shouldn't be kicking gens that much unless you have a perk for it like overcharge, oppression, or pop, since base regression is really weak, I think its fine the way it is especially since the change would only really save 1 second which is nothing in the grand scheme of things

to be fair its a good learning experience since its giving you opportunities to play around survivor perks and learn what perks they have to find weakspots on them or weaker links on their team

I kick em anyway. Lets me know if they're still there waiting for me to leave or not.

  • Use pop goes the weasel and focus on stopping gens from getting finished instead of killing people. They'll get tired of healing eventually and run out of resources to heal quickly and some will just refuse to heal after a point. Then you catch em when they're trying to sneak a gen. Hook, pop goes the weasel, next gen/survivor.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

Running is not an issue 👻. But I always have suggested an idea of injured survivors should run 5% slower. It makes sense since a survivor is injured, it would encourage people to heal or be 5% slower.

That'd just make tunneling more effective and people would complain way more than they already do. Its a it makes sense change but a stupid one gameplay wise.

  • Some of them really do have deadzones that you can or should never be near but they've done better at preventing them I wanna say

  • I want Jason or Chuckie. I don't mind range killers. I understand perfectly why they keep making them. We get none ranged killers and everyone complains that they're shat because a fair amount of survivors are too good at just running and dropping pallets going through windows and around stuff. Then you get the really good survivors that loop you from pallet to jungle gym to window to another tileset and repeat that until 2-5 gens are done. People complain that killers need buffs and such or survivors need nerfs. Instead of doing all of that they'll make ranged killers. That either can hit over/under pallets or windows or both. It adds even more mind play at windows and pallets and let the people figure it out from there. Its no longer a matter of the killer being bad or the survivors being op. You have to read the person you're playing against and have the skill to hit whatever hit you as the killer need to hit. As a survivor you can't just braindead drop pallets and jump windows anymore. It definitely makes the game a little more frustrating for the average just wanna relax and have fun and laugh survivor player but it makes a better experience for killer players and for people that like the mental challenge from others. PH, DS, Huntress, Trickster, Nemesis, Plague can all be countered either with perks or simple maneuvers. So I don't mind them. All of that said though ######### Nurse and I'm shat against Clown still after all these years.

oh yeah they speak, but they won't hesitate to go silent when they have no answer for big problems.

you're only thinking of the time when they do, but not when they "decided" not to.

they've said they don't always answer because they have nothing good or informative to add. You'll get a simple we're working hard to fix it or we have nothing to share at this moment. They're also not going to respond to every single person like you complaining about them not answering questions because they'd be here, reddit, twitter, Instagram, facebook all day everyday doing nothing.

You should hold up a mirror. If you think the game is survivor sided, while most killers are banking 4K rounds consistently…..perhaps it’s you who just isn’t good at the game.

I'm not the one complaining the game is killer sided. Not even complaining that the game is survivor sided it just is because that is the nature of games like this. The survivors will always be the ones with an edge whether its a big one or not. Plus I escape consistently about 70% of games without needing to try that hard most games. You die that many games in a row then its you not the game.

  • Keys aren't a problem. People like yourself and killer mains say keys are a problem because they lose out on survivors they weren't going to catch anyway or a survivor or two that got out with it because they had a key. I play a lot of killer and I can count on one hand the amount of times a full group of survivors got out with key against me. Some others get a two man escape with it but its so rare. Plus if they all get out with a key they've earned it. You didn't do your job at stopping gens and they did their job of finishing the gens and finding hatch. So they get out. Get over it. They've said numerous times they're changing the keys and its probably a bigger rework of the hatch and key system as a whole. So shut up about it. Even If they just straight up nerf keys survivors will still be escaping with them through hatch. They'll just all bring their own keys. So hush with these stupid posts about keys.

Killers love to win overall, even the types of people who play killer specifically play killer cause. they. like. to. win.

That being said, Dead by Daylight has been very biased towards making Killers far to powerful. Within the year+ of playing, I'd flip flop between rank 3-8, which took plenty of time and effort, given I loved the gameplay overall. It was addicting fun, I'd spend about $60 for packs a month! That was until the new rank, pip, and blood points system came out.

I don't care if my luck or odds are bad every few matches if I clearly make dumb choices in that very moment; I can live with that, but I like to believe I'm not an amateur. That being said, ever since each past 2-3 or so updates I've noticed not only have hit boxes been fixed fairly enough, but Killers have been buffed when they already needed being nerfed. Nor has DBD tried to fix game mechanics to avoid toxic Killers tunneling, face camping, and griefing/exploiting to keep their title of an unfair, but high rank killer.

Without survivors, there isn't a game for Killers to enjoy. And although I understand this is a competitive game, it's also one people log onto to have fun and have a laugh over, even if we are the one's being the idiot and getting just s l a u g h t e r e d. Thing is, it's no longer enjoyable with the amounts of toxic Killers that still don't get punished for unfair game play. Constantly I hear, "This game is gonna take reports seriously." It never does. That being said, I don't think this game is listening to the high demands, which overall gonna make a high amount of gamers leave it altogether if this isn't resolved.

Wrapping this up, I'm over it. A once enjoyable game- is corrupted. I only know the sore loser Killers will continue to defend their strong builds, perks, and extra abilities to continue being these toxic winners, throwing fits to make the gameplay more of an advantage for them. Overall, I'm done with this childish, toxic fan base who prioritize a title on a game, than actual fair game play, which I personally have tried hard to stay consistently while playing DBD.

Long story short, and what my friends and I say all the time which has made multiple large discord servers quit this game,

    "This game is broken."

When red, purple, and green ranks lose every single match 15 times over? You know the Killers are far too powerful in the game mechanics. (Specifcally the Nemisis, but there's many others that need nerfing) Which honestly, has pushed me to quit until I hear they ACTUALLY, fix this issue.

After reading all that if you're not a troll I will say this. If you're losing 15 matches in a row you and or your friends and the other people you speak to are not as good as you may think. Survivor is easy if you know the game and even if you don't it can still be fairly easy and there is a reason most people play survivor. It is the easier role to play. Killer is harder to play and harder to learn. It is you versus 4 other people. Against when you're playing survivor it is you and 3 other people versus 1. Killers need to have the right perks that work for them and the killer they play which means leveling multiple killers and getting their perks then leveling the killer you want to play. Playing survivor you level Meg and level Jake or David and you've got meta perks that have been meta since the characters released. This game isn't killer sided and never will be. If you think it is then you need to work on your gameplay one way or another whether its saving people the correct way, doing gens more, or getting better at looping each killer. The ONLY Killer I think needs a nerf is Nurse because she's straight bs most of the time. But everyone else has clear cut ways of countering them.

  • @TheGorgon said:

There’s no way you believe that the game is killer sided or the devs favor them...

You'd be surprised. my friends think that despite seeing me loop the ######### out of a killers each time I play and seeing me play killer and get ######### on guaranteed almost everytime I play anyone that isn't Huntress.

  • They speak. You just don't listen or don't like the response.

  • When i'm not being camped by a tunneling leatherface that got mad he couldn't catch me till all gens got finished, or I'm not getting left on hook by anyone below rank 8, or getting gen rushed because I decided to try new perks that didn't involve slowing gens down, or getting beamered on all match, or having game breaking bugs effecting my games. Its a very fun and pleasant game to play considering I like horror and got characters that I like in the game.

We absolutely do multiple device testing. But there's a big difference between a team of people testing internally and hundreds of thousands playing on the released version.

Please have patience with us as we get a solution for this problem. We are fully aware of the frustration it has caused, and want this fixed as much as you do. :)

Would love if more devs communicated here. i only ever see you Peanits and NotQueen here. Though I don't blame them for doing it. I know not all of them speak English, and we as a community can be pretty mean at times.

  • Post seems wack they chase me off gens almost everytime.

  • Unlink all the sets. The ONLY set i've bought is the one for the Huntress with the horror youtube channel. Sets ruin the entire point of cosmetics for me. I want to mix and match stuff and you're not letting me and they cost $15. No thank you.

  • I disagree. I think he's fine as he is though I've only played against him. The only thing he really has going for him I feel are the zombies since without them he's just a pyramid head clone that comes from a very popular game. The zombies are what makes him unique and cool to go against. The zombies add a new layer to playing killer. They can help you down survivors, help you get survivors off generators and help you be able to damage them with the power. Its really good for that alone. Without Zombies as I said he's just a PH rip off. I like that the zombies can stop survivors in chase or get them off gens its just something new and fresh to consider while playing. Not to mention survivors can kill or stun the zombies and I'd say that makes it more okay. If you're that worried about them you can bring that pallet resetting perk and you just kill the zombie nearly for free.

    2017- Huntress

    2020- Pyramid Head and Deathslinger

    2021- Trickster and Nemesis

Somehow it seems like the ideas for new killers have largely turned into: killer that throws/emits something that can hit from mid/long range with a few unique quirks.

Probably because most of the killers that aren't that are on the ######### side of balance and some of the survivors are too good against that. Plus having only killers that just have basic hits is boring after a while.

  • @Madjura said:

You can actually get stuck in it.

    https://youtu.be/nOMYlFWTTVw

On PC had a spirit rocking our ######### until she got stuck in this spot. Hitting a survivor with m1 confirmed doesn't let you out of the spot. On

  • I can agree with some of these.

Basement, while basement is definitely nice to have as killer i really feel like it can be really, really frustrating to save from as survivor, i think a nice change to this would be not allowing power use in basement at all, and maybe not even allowing undetectable. ( I agree)

Tapping generators shouldn't be a thing, you shouldn't be able to stop regression for pretty much free when the killer has to spend 2 seconds breaking it, have the survivor be on the generator for at least 2 seconds to actually stop regression. ( I think letting the initial kick do like 5% or 10% without Pop active would be a good way to stop gen tapping)

Make keys themselves nothing special, just allow them to open chests instantly, put more emphasis on the addons and give keys more interesting uses. (I like your idea but I think Ultra Rare key should still open hatch but maybe just one or two people can go through. While purple key opens chests instantly and green key reads auras and gets a duration increase)

Make Cypress Mori base kit. (Yes)

Make Technician, Windows of Opportunity, and Zanshin Tactics perks you can get immediately through the bloodweb, they're beginner perks and shouldn't be teachables. (Yes)

  • I think making the regression a little faster would be good. Kicking gens should be worth a little more like making the initial kick take away 5-10% by default unless there is Pop then the 5-10% is ignored and the 20% is applied.

How can she be the most balanced when other killer who are much weaker like huntress or Demo are considered to be balanced

Even old billy was considered to gold standard and he’s always been leagues away from nurse

    Yes thank you.

  • I will always say it's Huntress. If you can't hit hatchets you in most cases will fail. She lacks faster movement to compensate for the range she has and I think that's very fair. I love Blight though he's really fun to play as and against. No other killer excites me as much as the Blight does.

And the only one who can show those sweaty 4 mans whos boss. If they rework her and nerf spirit a LOT would have to happen to survivor balance. And i feel like thats what the devs fear the most. If you nerfed/reworked the 2 killers who could win in the upper bracket and survivors just win the devs would HAVE to do something to fix it. And knowing bhvr theyd mess it up somehow. So id keep her like this for now.

I don't think Spirit really needs anything. If ANYTHING a speed nerf while phasing but that's if we're looking to nerf I think she's fine.

  • @MrDardon said:

There is no real solution I am afraid.

Nerfing her would mean that no one will play her. (Like you said)

Reworking her is a bad idea since the people who love her would be pretty disappointed and pissed. Look at Freddy. They should never do a complete rework ever again.

Keeping her how she is would be the best idea and maybe nerf her Add-ons, mostly range and recharge because those can be disgusting on a good Nurse.

I like your idea. People don't even use her ultra rares. I played her after making this post just to prove a point to myself and I got the 3k and one got out in hatch. You don't need skill or much practice with her you really just need to get a little use to blinking and you can just win. But yeah I wish more people brought attention to her. Too many people out here saying she's the most balanced is a lie and the few that say she's weak. NGL though I love Freddy he's my fav horror icon and I mained him before his rework. Afterwards I stopped because it was too easy and I wanted to play more legion and huntress. With all that in mind though I was ready for a freddy nerf. Was tired of losing games to him just because people don't know how to deal with him and he had way too much going on for him. He had a teleport, slow add ons, general killer perks, and chase enders as well as a secondary power effect that makes his teleport recover faster if people are sleep..It was beyond op

  • @ShinobuSK said:

She is hard to master or something like that. So people are fine with her even tho she plays a different game than DBD and is completely broken anywhere than comp.

But lets hate on Spirit and Wraith now, shall we

But they're not a problem. Spirit is annoying because people don't play with headsets or use iron will. She's just m1 killer like Legion but invisible when using her power. Wraith is just fast..I see no problem with him but I guess.

Just please give us an answer, silence will only tell us where we as a community stand with you.

I will say when I last played on Ps4 back before stranger things released it was pretty smooth. It went downhill from there

No Mither + Desperate Measures + Resilience.

Might sound meme to have a healing perk in this build, but it’s actually for really fast hook saves.

Resilience is already a pretty self explanatory perk when paired with No Mither, but with Desperate Measures, with no other survivors injured other than myself and whoever is on the hook, I always have a 37% increase to unhook speeds at minimum.

This feels pretty significant. It’s almost like having match long No One Left Behind without the aura reading, and it’s current activation conditions.

I can rush in, dodge a hit if the killer is camping, and get a survivor off their hook fast enough to have them get a head start before I take a protection hit to go down for them, forcing the killer to abandon tunnelling who was rescued, unless they don’t care that I can get back up.

A little off topic but legit everytime I have a no mither user on my team the killer has than and it baffles me everytime.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

let's be honest here... nurse would never be made today.

  • @bjorksnas said:

I think were all forgetting that nurse was reworked, quite a few times

nurse used to be a 115 killer with 3 blinks, and had no blink recharge, and ridiculously strong addons

and was balanced around the fact that 2/3 killers at the time were held back by infinites and was a bandaid fix to make the game playable

I remember I hated it then but I played on console so I didn't have to deal with it as much because FPS was shat so they usually missed and weren't good at it so nobody played nurse on ps4. I'm on pc where those issues aren't as likely and you know the rest assuming you read everything.

  • @glitchboi said:

I really wish they reworked Nurse at the very start or something. I feel like it's too late at this point, but meh, I'm fine with that.

I agree but I hate her the most. I've hated most killers at some point but got over it due to not realizing something as a counter method or just not being good at this game. I've gotten way better and can escape most my games and at least 3k most killer games but for Nurse has never changed. The only nurse players I can escape from are the bad ones or ones that don't slug and I get hatch. I truly feel if all the nurse mains played more today they'd make it clear that she's not okay I've had some even admit that she's op and it throws me off that behavior don't rework her as you said. A killer that can just ignore all survivor defense with little to no punishment isn't a good design. PH and Nemesis can ignore vaults and pallets sure but if they miss they have to catch up and suffer a cooldown that gives you chance to escape or whatevs. Nurse doesn't give any of that.

DS was used because it was easily abusable and broken as #########.

It helps against tunneling just as much as before.

Anyways, no. A perk shouldn't nullify a playstyle. That's like making a killer perk that makes survivors unable to run. Tunneling and DS are both fine where they're at.

Okay but running?? That's a core mechanic that'd be like me saying a perk to remove killers being able to swing.

  • @TauNkosi said:

I'm begging y'all. Please run DS. killers are tunneling and camping far more and it kills me to see y'all die like so quickly just because you refuse to run a perk that was nerfed. All the camping and tunneling you go through is on you, not the killer.

I'd rather take it on the chin than to run that ######### perk.

You said that I should watch Otz, when I start camping as killer.

Implying that killers just need to get better.

This goes both ways. If you can't play against camping killers, watch a streamer who can.

It takes multiple survivors to beat a camping killer if the killer knows how to do it the "right" way

  • @Junylar said:

The game is a mess in the core, balancewise. The most efficient way to win is to eliminate one person as soon as possible, so whatever you say - tunneling is the most viable tactic. If the game had no BT or DS, there would be no reason NOT to go for the just unhooked person, other than chivalrous code of honor. Adding more perks which are supposed to easy game's core issues won't fix anything, it will just add more ways to abuse said perks for SWFs, as they do with BT and DS, and it will break the game balance even further.

Moreover, the perks you are talking about sound like they will be second-chance perks. And the game has enough of those for survivors, making SWF players virtually immortal.

Another thing is that most players do not do that {protecting teammates}. Its not something you can teach a herd of people that probably don't want to listen or even understand how or why they should do it and the change in the match it'd make. When matchmaker decides to give me a low ranked killer I can barely ever even get saved by the survivors at those ranks because they try to play immersed when they obviously to me shouldn't be.

This isn't about SWF and not all of them that try to abuse that stuff are good enough to actually succeed with it. They might annoy you but they won't always win. BUUUUT i get your point. But you can't balance for the best of the best because the bottom will suffer. I think those second chance perks give them the chance they actually need when it comes to the tunneling camping killers that do it no matter the scenario. Matchmaking has been throwing me against R10's - 20s and its crazy to see just how many of them tunnel or camp. As a red rank player its funny to loop them but its sad because they'll chase the WHOLE game and I'm like...chase someone else you're not catching me and they more than likely do this to the people they can catch and its just not fun gameplay for someone who will feel helpless against it.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Strategies that heavily rely on Survivors to be effective. Teamwork can counter camping and bad saves lead to tunneling. If these are frequent issues for you then change the load out to compensate.

Don't think there is much I can do when they can wait out BT or keep chasing them anyway its up to the other person to just loop at that point and me body block as much as I can but that's not getting gens done so I don't do it too often.

  • @Tsulan said:

Camping and tunneling are side effects of the current gen speeds.

When killers don't feel cornered because they lost 2 or 3 gens in a single chase, then they won't camp and tunnel.

That's not a good argument though I've had plenty of them camp or tunnel while having no gens done and commit to it.

  • @Ink_Eyes said:

The thing here is that behaviour doesn't want to, camping and tunneling is a strategy for killers and nerfing killers in any way would probably hurt their killer population which is already pretty low, you can tell they don't want to because there's a pretty easy fix for it and it's basically making every killer work like pyramid head, they could simply remove hooks and make every killer send you to a random location on the map in a cage, that would pretty much end the camping problem but they obviously don't want that.

That'd be really cool actually and it'd give room for more killers such as chuckie to come in without wondering how they'd hook.

  • I consider it rude but if its only after being hooked i usually assume its to silence the scream. If anything beyond that you get teabagged to hell any chance I get

Gonna assume you're about my age but yeah they're not as old as the characters you named. I just don't remember them being around too long. After looking it up it was only running from 97 to 99 so it didn't last very long. Anyone younger than me or assumingly you would prob not know what it is.
