Perhaps you don't choose to self-care until you are reasonably sure that the killer is doing something else.
Run spine chill to know if they're looking at you, or Alert to see if they're breaking pallets or gens. Your problem is that you're acting without adequate information.
I appreciate your comment. I didn't think about that. Though I'd have to sacrifice my dead hard.. or iron will

ummm how about you improve at looping, maybe don't go down. I never run exhaustion or ds, if I do get tunneled. its usually a very new killer that loses the game to 2-3 other teammates. sometimes, you just die.
ds is a dumb perk may it be forever #########, never abusable again.
dumbest comment on here by far. Everyone else at least had good points.

So your problem is that you aren't scared at all so you'd rather just heal on the hook/near it. Got it.
Guess what, it's a horror game and you shouldn't be able to get away doing stuff in the killer's face.
Or run a perk like Inner Strength or Second Wind and voila, no more need to heal at all.
I do run inner strength. I'm bringing this up because I wanted to run a self care build today. Its not about healing at the hook or in front of the killer either.
-
@justbecause said:
Healing right off the hook or running to safe zone to heal yourself is your option and decision however in both you're not getting tunelled technically so I don't see this as issue too much
You can still be tunneled if they come back and see you. On a map where there are tons of LOS blockers its a lot less likely but if they just see you running in the distance they can still come to tunnel you but if you've tried to heal yourself you're just screwed.
-
@BananaBlooD95 said:
Now that I think of it, why not run Second Wind with it? As long as you healed someone before getting hook you gain a free health state after 20s. That could lead to situation where:
A: Killer down you after 18-19sec, try to pick you up but you go back in injured state and start running again
B: Killer grab you before you get healed, get DS then you heal.
Not sure it works still after being downed but if so that's pretty nice. Referring to Second Wind.

And it gives your teammate loads of BP as compared to the pittance you get for self-caring. But mostly it's because it's twice as fast.
I wanna rename that perk selfish-care.

If you start self healing before the killer come back that mean he was really far away, on the opposite side of the map. Maybe you should hide before healing?
That isn't at all what that means. They could be right outside of what would let me hear them coming back or they could be a stealth killer and I not hear them or know they're coming at all or they could appear to be chasing someone else and I start healing in a spot I think is hidden and they come back

Context
OP wants to heal after being unhooked. Unless you yeet yourself off the hook another survivor should be there to heal you.
Yeah not everyone is going to heal me off hook and I shouldn't always have to have them heal me just because DS will deactivate as soon as I start healing myself. Take it away after I've fully healed

I think it should also prevent using Inner Strength, but I suppose they want to keep the meme build of Inner Strength, DS, Quick and Quiet and Head-On together.
It really doesn't need a buff at all, especially after so short a period.
Let's wait and see.
I use inner strength primarily but wanted to use the self care with botany and felix perk combo but remembered how DS is now and i'm not sure anymore if its even worth.

Unsafe saves would mean the killer is close. You would selfcare in this case? No, either the killer tunnels you or chases the unhooker. Either case, run away from that hook.
That's what I'm saying if I run and start self healing and they either hunt me down or maybe just stumble upon me and they down me its still tunneling intentional or not and I get got for free. The perk is nearing useless. Its still useful but this is the one situation where I think it needs to be given a small buff because the perk is perfectly fair for killers now but that part is unfair for any survivor trying to use it.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
TBH the only "buff" it needs, is to only create an obsession once used. (Does not create an obsession at the start of the match).
At the moment, there is zero uncertainty if a Survivor has it, if the start of the Match there are no Obsessions.
I agree I think it would be more consistent with their views about killer perks not revealing until you've encountered it as well
-
@Mr_K said:
The survivor that unhooked you should take responsibility.
Okay, but we're not playing against bots and realistically not everyone is going to heal you off the hook and not everyone knows to make safe saves and its not always possible to either.

You don't even need perks or addons to realize he's bad. Tell me one good thing he can do better then slinger and huntress.
Well assuming the scenario with all three in the open he can down them faster than slinger or about the same speed. Huntress is best overall but at loops he's worse than both

I'm having this issue on PS4 also β on top of the glitching on my end, I'm also watching survivors glitch across the map as they run. Doesn't matter if I'm playing killer or survivor. Definitely a pain. (I made my own bug report on this, also)
Dude..or chick. I've updated my drivers like three times and did a fourth clean install that wipes all the previous drivers, I updated the pc, I gave my cpu more thermal paste because it was low, I reinserted my graphics card and none of that worked when most of the time the graphics drivers update fixes it usually. Its terrible

I have managed to have a go with him for the first time this afternoon.
So thankful I didn't spend money on this rubbish.
All matches with his 3 base perks.
1st match - Tried out his power etc. I hook. 4 escapes. Displeased.
2nd match - When M1. Was stalked by a flashlight clicker. 1 sacrifice and 3 escaped with found key before final gen. Brutal.
3rd match - Tried M1 again. A few hooks, no sacrifices. Someone brought a kay, all left via hatch. Displeased.
4th match- M1. Had a trolling Claudette on one of the house's upper floor continuously jumping over the pallet the whole match (patrolled 3 closest gens). 1 sacrifice. Displeased.
Great times be had πππ
Sounds like you're just not good with him and need to learn. My first couple of games went wayy better than yours did and even the bad ones I just blame it on not having perks or not playing as well as I could. Doesn't mean the killer is bad. Just means you need to play him more and get better and better perks
-
Not worried, I like the chapter. The only issue with the trickster I have is how long it takes to be able to throw kunai but he's pretty fun and I don't think he's as bad as people say. It seems like its going to be another Blight situation where everyone yells about how bad he is and then a popular streamer or youtuber comes up like they're good and shows it then everyone is like ah yes S tier killer. I've been having good games. They're not all 4ks but I also haven't leveled him until yesterday and today but the power is good if you can aim if not then sucks for you. Though I will say the "good" survivors make it harder to use but even then its not the worst thing ever.
-
I wouldn't call him the most balanced. I personally think its huntress without Iri head but that's one of my mains. With Blight being in my top three of killers I like to play. I don't know what the J flick is but someone at the top of this post said the devs have said it isn't intended therefore it is an exploit, but He doesn't need it to begin with he's good without it. While everyone was calling him a bad killer I was getting 4ks almost every game on PTB. He's good and always has been good because he has insane mobility and will always be good because of it. He doesn't need whatever this J flick is.
-
AGREED. I love playing him but that windup is so slow I accidentally let go to try bring it up again because I think its not coming and then I have to sit and wait for it to end and then start again.

Thanks. I honestly am pulling for her to not be an S tier killer anymore. A tier or maybe very high B tier would be fine. I donβt want to seem like a try hard for playing a killer that I love.
I'm the same way. I don't wanna play S tier especially in a game like this nobody will enjoy going against it. After freddy's rework I became a Legion main and after being tired of playing hot garbo I decided I'd commit to what I said before and try to git gud with Huntress and I love her and playing her is fun and very rewarding if you do well.
-
in 90% of cases as long as I don't get hit by bs hits I'm okay. As killer idk some games are just fun for me win or lose.

She may be used less if she got nerfed but I will never leave her no matter what happens. Sheβs been my main ever since I started playing her and BHVR will never be able to make another killer that I fall in love more than I did with Spirit.
I respect you for it. The amount of people that drop a killer or weapon in other games just because they got nerfed and aren't broken is way too high and its annoying that people just wanna use the busted stuff

There would still be mindgame potential you just have to be in your power.
I honestly think the standing still mindgame is stupid and it can be accomplished in the same way if you use your power and stand still.
true true.
-
Complaining about dead hard shows more about how bad you are as a killer more than anything. The number of times I've had killers remember I had it and just wait it out and still kill me or the times I did the same to survivors is astounding and its so easy. It doesn't need any nerf. Just learn how to counter it. Waiting it out, exhaustion add ons for killers exist, that one perk that gives survivors exhaustion, mind games at pallets or windows.

TO BE FAIR
It's not anyones job as the player to assure the fun of their opponents. It's the games job to provide the fun.
Furthermore, some peoples idea of fun is sweating so hard they need to stack sandbags around their computer to stop the rest of their room from getting flooded. Fun is subjective.
This game doesn't have a casual and ranked mode to separate the try-hards from the fun... hards (nailed it), so it's always a matter of chance what version of "fun" you will be subjected to match to match.
You're pretty smart. They should make you a community manager or something. That response was perfect
-
@Zaytex said:
It is a double standard that's quite rampant in the community and an entitlement that needs to stop.
Survivors can do anything they want, gameplay wise or fun wise, but as a Killer, you're not allowed to tunnel, slug, camp, bring certain killers, etc.
It's why I always play to win, which means tunnelling, camping, or slugging unless the survivors are performing poorly or are playing nice so the 10-12 hooks is a realistic option given to me.
If the survivors rush generators, then the killer has every right to rush kills.
To me it just says lack of skill if you can't play normally and win as killer. But I play huntress so its way easier for me, but in those legion games gen rush all day and then I understand why.
-
My first thing here is you won and are complaining about fun. I understand that it doesn't mean you had fun, but the survivors can't cater to you just as you don't or can't cater to them. Because realistically you can't. They're using a bunch of second chance perks to survive with which 3/4 of them still failed. You are using an annoying build on an already good killer that makes him feel even more oppressive. I still love blight though he's fun and good. But coming to make a post about it seems silly. The only thing that could've made the build more annoying is if you had BBQ or devour for the pressure. Also remember that DS is getting nerfed so any aggressive DS plays they made won't be possible anymore.
-
I think it'd ruin all mind game potential for her, but I don't play her and don't like playing against her too much so if she gets any nerf I'm happy because she'll be used less.
-
I'd prefer FNAF but they'd have no survivor unless they just make up a face with Scott for a survivor if we got one for FNAF. Res would probably be much more hype though with killer options and survivor options. I've just never been a RES fan. Tried a demo on 3DS, watched a playthrough of 7. Bought the remake to play RE Resistance and remembered I hate Re controls And stopped playing.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
It's true. It has been proven time and time again that killers can't win via hooks if the survivors rush gens, you need to slug. So they've nerfed slugging about 4 times since I started playing, WGLF being the latest. It gets people up if the killer turns their back for just a few seconds.
Meanwhile survivors still complain about BBQ.....LOL!
Who the hell out here complaining about BBQ?? Just hide in a locker

I played a game to see the new outfit and animations, quickly ran into two new bugs, and immediately realized I won't bother playing her. The new UI and update as a whole made me uninstall the game, so I'll reinstall it again sometime in the future when they make improvements to this stone age patch.
I don't understand why you're complaining when you clearly haven't even bothered to take the time to learn how to counter her. It's like every bad survivor in the world thinks every Nurse is a GOD because they're just so bad at the game they don't realize how easy it is to catch them, even as a bad Nurse. With a little bit of knowledge you can juke a Nurse long enough to have an impact.
Not sure why you over here not even playing the game insulting me about getting caught by nurse when i legit said i'm just bad against her. She's not easy to dodge especially with the dog ######### hitboxes and seemingly extra range on her teleport lunge and hitting you before she even appears. Claiming i also haven't taken time to learn her counterplay is just dumb on your part because you know nothing about me. I've played on ps4 since a month before freddy's release with 1k+ hours on that account and again moving to pc with another 1.3k hrs. I just can't deal with her as i said I'm not good at it. Some nurses I beat and a large amount I don't just because you're not good against certain killers doesn't make you bad π. Nobody is good at everything mr or mrs don't even play the game but calling people bad

People don't stop playing because they're bored of winning lulz
Not true. I stop playing things. Winning is boring when its so easy for some. I guess for you it isn't but for me it isn't fun. Its why i stopped playing freddy. That was my main and then he got reworked and its just way too easy so I moved on to Legion but honestly as much as i love them they're dog #########. So i stick to Huntress and Blight. If i perform well i get the 4k unless survivors are ######### i win anyway. Same for blight

@Reinami said:
Because i usually stop playing between updates because there is nothing to do. I'm a nurse main for sheer fact that she is the only viable killer at high level competitive play, and TBH is OP (tournaments prove this).
So when they make changes to other killers or add new ones, i test them out to see if that changes anything. When i realize nothing has changed, i go back to nurse, then get bored of winning 9/10 games (and drawing the other) so i stop playing again for a while.
Glad you admitted she's OP. I feel that so hard if she couldn't go through walls I think she'd be fine but moving forward why not play a different killer or just stop playing? I'm like you and don't find winning all the time its not fun, but Huntress and Blight are and of course Spirit are fun viable options. They come with their own learning curves but I don't really play Spirit.

Before you get into a lobby with other people is where the confirm button would be. So if you're like oh crap gotta go to the store real quick or you need to invite a friend, but the game throws you into a lobby you now have to leave. So instead of that happening you'd get that are you ready button and hit no then it removes you from matchmaking and you do what you've got to do.
I know it seems like a non issue but its something they talked about wanting to lower the rate of people leaving those lobbies. Someone suggested punishing those people or giving bloodpoints for when it happens. They said they had the punishment part it could be done but they'd NEVER actually do it but was wondering how they could cut down on the number of people leaving lobbies before the game starts. So I came and made this post.
-
They said in the stream they're never doing that because the game would get boring and sometimes camping is a legitimate strat and if people wanna tunnel they can. You've just gotta get better at dealing with it. Also there are perks to deal with both of these things that help make you harder to catch or harder to camp or tunnel.
-
Getting confirmation on how exactly it works i don't think its so bad. I'm fine with it now
-
@kingcarl2012 said:
Huh? Not really sure what your on about here, when you load into a lobby you have a minute to back out with no penalty until the match starts, the confirm button is to ready up.
I'm just saying give an actual confirm button. Sometimes I decide i don't wanna play or i need to back out and then as soon as I am about to click i get thrown into a game. So a confirm button would help with them wanting to lower the number of people joining lobbies pre game and then leaving or being afk

Uuuh, are you serious? Don't talk like 360 is a game mechanic that was "nerfed". It's just a dumb tech to troll and make new Killers miss hits, it's useless against good Killers. This shouldn't even be a thing.
I'm experienced and sometimes they still get me with 360's. Been playing this for years. It doesn't work most of the time but some of them still succeed with it . Plus if you're going to argue it shouldn't be a thing we could also argue lingering hitboxes shouldn't be a thing and neither should instantly turning to hit the person trying to 360 you.
