I don't want to see a buffed mapwide Shadow Step for the inevitable Iron Will combo, thanks.
The overall point is good, but "boons could be LITERALLY ANYWHERE and will then affect the entire map with slightly lesser buffs" would only exacerbate their current problems.

The best way to get survivors to be friendly and appreciate you is to beat the ######### out of them and then visibly spare them. Then it's all sunshine and item gifts and people offering themselves at hooks. Take it from a pro: leaving someone downed on death hook instead of hooking them, or doing your best deer in headlights impression so that guy can get the flashlight save he's been ineptly hungering for all match, just gets you tbagged at gate and "LOL GGEZ BABY KILLER"d in chat. You've gotta go a step further and set them back on their feet, or drop them in front of a totem or gen, or maybe pick up a bunch of slugged survivors and arrange them in a pile before wandering off so someone else can pick them up. You have to deliberately kick those "this is not normal killer behavior" bells.
If you allow them to think that they outplayed you when you were deliberately making subpar decisions, like letting people go because you felt bad for constantly running into them, or pretending you don't know someone's in that locker, they'll shrug it off at best and laugh at your ineptitude at worst. People just don't expect the killer to be nice with the current state of the community and it won't be the explanation they jump to unless you shove it in their face with bright flashing lights.
Aggressive niceness!

It was Pinhead, but the addon dependence to feel like I was getting much mileage out of his power just drove me nuts. M1 killer who occasionally has an anti-loop M2 but mostly the M2 doesn't help or the survivor dodges or dead hards it mmmm.
So, I've been playing Spirit.
Plague is also fun but I need more perks.

Exactly. SB is much better imo. I can't wait to see full lobbies of SB 😆
That, in fact, would probably be long term healthier, because it would put emphasis on the problems most killers have in general: a total inability to get into chases against holding W.
-
Either take away the iframes or move them later. Dodge before you're attacked, not as a reaction to everything that causes powers to go whoops.

It's exactly because of nurse that DH cannot be nerfed. A match without DH is 4k easy for any decent nurse.
The rest of the game can't be held hostage to one Killer they can't work out what to do with.
-
Stop putting pain in so many perk names.
Seriously, the third scourge hook had better not have Pain in it, because that's just going to get confusing. Also when the game has grunts OF PAIN all over the place. Pain pain painy pain pain.

I agree. I've said this before. If the killer is camping the survivor that is on the hook should be given compensation so people actually stay as long as they can on the hook, giving their team enough time to do gens.
Right now the camped survivor gets nothing, and imo they should get at least distraction points. A lot of people will just suicide on hook if camped, and honestly I dont really blame them. This is just one of the examples of things that should reward team gameplay.
Honestly, I think the BP should be shared out too (or some sort of split between a communal/individual BP). But that'd mean rewriting it to only hand out BP on a delay after everyone's finished.

To avoid rising in MMR and getting hard games.

I assume communication helps with the coordination of teamwork.
I still say that rewards and punishments should be assigned on a group basis for survivors, though, including MMR.

I don't really want to comment on the larger state of the game.
Just for me, as someone who has played for a long time now, I'm done with Killer.
It's too much.
Ah, wasn't implying anything about the larger state of the game. Just getting it in before the inevitable "you're lying and will be back in a few weeks" accusations these sorts of things attract.

But nobody's really quitting and we don't have killer streamers switching to Survivor, right? There's nothing actually wrong is there? :T

ok thats weird? Idk I do absolutely fine as Trickster, Myers and even Huntress on this map. Guess its a matter of experience I would say, dont know, dont want to be rude btw but I dont know what else to say about that xD
Especially as mysers I am a god on this map, every game.
Good for you, but just based on the map as a whole as compared to other maps? It's full of LOS blockers and weird hitboxes where there ARE open spaces.

True pinhead is also a isuee, I could maybe think of Deathslinger but thats it tbh. Even huntress is somewhat fine on this map.
Huntress suffers from this being a land of tight spaces and bad hitboxes. Trickster's probably similar. Billy has his usual on-again-off-again relationship with corridor maps, where he's hard to dodge but even more limited in movement. Myers can either be a stalking god or spend the whole game trying to look at anyone...

Can you give me some examples? I hear this alot about "powers require space" but I am seriously wondering what ppl mean with that. Even as Oni I dont have trouble running around and chasing survivors. Like for real, even with speed addon (akitos crutch) I dont struggle.
The standout example is that Pinhead's chains go potato in confined spaces, even if you can hit the shot fine and the way it's AIMED cares nothing at all for walls. The other obvious examples are all line-of-sight restricted, aside from bubba and random scenery hitboxes.
-
The downside: it's an indoor map and that in and of itself outright screws entire Killers over, because their powers are heavily reliant on line of sight and space; and the narrowness of the corridors makes a few others oppressive (though not as much as RCPD).
Oh, and the unavoidable god pallets strewn around the outside corridors. Or maybe they're more god pallets+? Because it's not just "you must break them so other chases can't jump over them endlessly", it's "you must break them to move down this hallway at all".
-

Bubbas chainsaw should stop when he downs a survivor, I just downed 3 survivors in a row after my tinkerer activated and they didn't notice I was coming, the other guy disconnected...
That's on them for having zero situational awareness. Yeah, chainsawing Bubba is fast, but he's not super speed fast and clumped survivors COULD split.
"Bubba needs nerfs because MULTIPLE PEOPLE didn't look around" is definitely not true.

Remember no one in this forums use bbq for aura reading, only the bps
The aura reading is also neat! When it works.
But the problem is that the limitations on WHERE it can be aura read (never mind people popping into lockers etc.) make it... mediocre. And outright useless on some map spawns. So, it's more like a low-tier aura reading ability bunged onto the useful BP perk.
-
Know where people are when it's too late to do anything, or know where they are if they're not... well, stood by the hooks that are bloody everywhere.
But BBQ at least gives you a more rewarding goal than trying to murder everyone turns out to be, so "makes games way more chill" is nice. :T

Sure. Though, in the last 30 days there's been:
- A new killer and survivor
- A month-long bonus points event
- A multi-week, unique in-game event
- Free, earnable cosmetics
- Giving the game away for free on Epic Game Store
All that and growth is STILL down? Any other content release or seasonal event sees considerable player growth. Those numbers are a lot worse when you consider just how many things there are going on to get players playing.
To be fair, that last one obviously isn't viewable in STEAM playing statistics.

you talk like timer resets immediately, it takes several days of good behaviour to get fixed. so again, your suggestion makes 0 sense, cause ok you get 4 free escapes (not really you get penalization), then what?.
also so you suggest no fix then? take the L and @@@@?
most people play Solo q, acting like this is a full SWF game all time is delusional, most people play solo q.
Then just walk up to the Killer, it's not hard to get out of the game.

????? makes 0 sense if u are in full lobby the rest need to wait the guy who dced you can not play instantly again, they would need to wait at least 5 mins also taht will go higher and higher you cant do that constantly.
Yes, they need to wait, but they can have four times as many games with lower penalties before they have to take a bad one.
As it is now: if player A disconnects, then players B through D, they all have to wait and the penalty starts counting. With your suggestion, player A disconnects, players B through D disconnect, they wait five minutes (rather than playing a 5+ minute game), then next time, player B disconnects, then C, then D. Only then does A disconnect again, and depending on how it's counting, it might have been enough games where they got what they wanted that A's disconnect timer reset.
At no point do they ever have more than a 5 minute DC penalty.
-
No, because then a SWF could rotate DC's if they get unfavourable matches. And the people building SWFs to be dicks don't need more toys.

I've had to recondition myself since the change. Baiting doesnt really work anymore so its more a case of swing and get it out of the way imho...
As for distance, a well timed SB is WAY more punishing than a well timed DH. DH always seems worse because its in your face.
A well-timed SB still requires more planning, is more likely to fail, and has some counterplay from various killers.
DH being usable in reaction to when you would get hit makes it more overall useful and powerful, on top of powers with extra CD's and miss penalties.

I'm not advocating anything about DH but "not being fun to go against" always seems like the biggest cop out of an excuse and I hate when its used to justify nerfs/changes. Where is the line then? X killer is not fun to go against. Ruin is not fun to go against. Slugging is not fun to go against. Camping/tunneling is not fun to go against. Being hooked is not fun to go against. Dying is not fun to go against.
Not everything in an asymmetric game needs to be fun for both sides. I dont think its possible either.
I dont love the new changes to DH either but at the end of the day they can only use it once per chase, like every other exhaustion perk. At least this one gives them the least amount of distance from it. The only thing it really punishes is trapper.
It can give way more distance because of its ability to reach loops, though.
And even more distance from Killers trying to bait it out and not swinging even when they could (often leading into reaching a pallet etc. when they have to swing eventually).
And it manages to get people distance even if they don't have DH from trying to bait DH because so many people do. Like BT and DS, it manages to have an effect even if it's not in the game.

LP is...eh. It's one of those 'if I had six perk slots, this might be number 6' perks.
At least it's a perk that does something, so it has that going for it.
-
Myers and Pinhead have fun perk options (well, except Dying Light). I guess Nemesis is generally decent? Even if aside from LP the perks are :T
-
The part where DH has moved from predictive to reactive was a massive buff even without the fact it's now accidentally eating powers. Iframes and distance turn out to be a super strong combo.
-
When proposing changes, don't think of how it'll work if the perk is used as intended, think of how it's not going to be used as intended.
For instance, what it means if you give someone an infinite get-out-of-pickup-free card as long as they don't do objectives.

It isn't that they don't realize. Its that they are powerless to stop it. There is no way to stop something like stretch resolution. The developers lose this by default. Sorry.
it is literally proved otherwise in this thread.
Changing the resolution the game renders at doesn't mean the game should automatically show more in some direction or other; they are indeed quite capable of having it draw a fixed aspect ratio regardless of the resolution the game runs at.

Solo queue Quentin here: What my teammates did here was obvious abuse of main building espacially the locker spawns. But Tru3 should have realised that from the second locker save at least. At times it felt felt like he gave them exactly what they wanted. There was one gen at main, let us repair it and dont go to main, its as simple as that. Im not saying this couldve been easily countered, but it felt like he didnt even try. When i saw it was Tru3 in endgame chat, i was very surprised.
Just got to ask... what was with the whole five-minute gap between the second-to-last-gen and exiting??? I don't think you were involved in chases then, so it should've been easy to just... do gen and leave.

No. They do not apply. It’s a multiplayer video game for adults, about murder. This is not real life and there are no victims. Also not that it makes a difference, but you misunderstand the definition you quoted:
“Bullying is an ongoing and deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behaviour that intends to cause physical, social and/or psychological harm. It can involve an individual or a group misusing their power, or perceived power, over one or more persons who feel unable to stop it from happening."
The highlighted words are significant. In fact they’re the most important words in the definition.
Moving on:
Q) Is it also bullying when the killer to kills a survivor? What about hooking them? How about just hitting them?
All of these actions clearly match up to your definition of bullying too. Are you honestly going to tell me, with a straight face, that simply playing the game is bullying?
I have to be blunt here. You’re entitled to your opinion but that doesn’t mean there’s any validity to what you’re saying. Some people will play along with this lunacy, probably out of fear of being labelled “pro bullying” or some other nonsense, but the vast majority know how ridiculous the idea is.
Hitting an imaginary hook in a computer game is not bullying.
Clicking an imaginary flashlight in a computer game is not bullying.
Spamming a crouch animation in a computer game is not bullying.
Camping a player in a computer game is not bullying.
Killing a player in a computer game is not bullying.
Q) Also, how do you account for the fact that you’re not psychic, and have no idea of the intentions of the other player?
There are a plethora of legitimate reasons for all of these so called “bullying”actions that have nothing to do with trying to get a reaction, or being “toxic.”
So how do you define what’s bullying? If it annoys you, is it bullying? If you don’t like it? Would that not be you bullying other people by taking away their options? It sure sounds like it.
Maybe if someone only teabags 3 times, that’s acceptable right? How about 4 though…Yes 4 is the bullying number. Anything 4 or above is problematic.
Same goes for flashlight spamming. 3 clicks maximum if you’re just doing it for fun. 4 clicks or more is bullying territory and should be a bannable offence.
Don’t even get me started on hook hitting. If you hit the hook even one time, you’re a big fat bully. Why else would you do it? You’re clearly engaging in an ongoing and deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behaviour that intends to cause physical, social and/or psychological harm.
Come on now, enough with this lunacy 😂
Ongoing and deliberate attempts to annoy and frustrate the other person, not to win? Yup, that's what bully squads explicitly set out to do. They even admit it.
About the only saving grace is that it's relatively tricky to consistently stalk one person in DBD and make their experience awful, but I wouldn't put it past people.

I think part of the event is that it is what you make of it. I usually take a little bit of time to have some fun with survivors and the snowmen.
Maybe it's because I main Nurse but I'm still managing to 4K regularly and enjoy the event.
But
I couldn't take any time to have fun with survivors and the snowmen, because none of them wanted to. That is my complaint! Even if I wanted to get into the spirit of things and have fun with the event, nope. Not your choice. Got to hope the other people choose to so you can reciprocate, no making the first move.

I've been having a lot of fun as killer throughout the event 🤷 I think a lot of people on here just take the game too seriously.
Nobody ever once did anything interesting with them for me. They've just been used to try and get an extra hit state. That's not particularly fun, as it's the same as any other time I've played the game. I don't feel like I've actually taken part in much of an event when the sum totality of my involvement in the event side of things was identical to if there had been no event on. :/

Separate gamemodes isn't a good idea. Queue times can already be incredibly long, that would only worsen things.
Killers have an equal opportunity to earn cosmetics as survivors do, although it would be nice if killers could hop in the snowmen too.
As for no winter add-ons? Maybe it's because the last time they did event add-ons (Refined Serum etc.), people complained :p
either do nothing or be even-handed.
"Your only involvement in this event is to hit the survivors like every other time you hit survivors" is not an event.

You and everyone else expecting the devs to just up & fix stretched res have too high expectations for an indie company & then call them lazy or out of their practice when they don't deliver. If it's not that hard then why haven't they fixed it?
Because they have incomprehensible priorities.
"Why have they not fixed the thing that someone has demonstrated is a checkbox in the unity engine" (I believe that was already in the thread) is totally mystifying. Even if they had to do it themselves, it's not like the logic is complicated: take the intended aspect ratio and resolution, check which side is too long, and work out how much of it you need to fill to keep the correct aspect ratio. Pillar/letterbox the result.
It ISN'T a hard thing to do, which is why this is confusing.
