I think ds should be disabled if someone else gets hooked. I don't think another change is necessary.
I'm pretty sure DS will be getting some sort of similar change in the near future.
I have a "pretty good" feeling.

Generally, people feel entitled to win and to have each player play the way that they deem 'fair.'
If you took out egos and imaginary rulesets, we'd be seeing a 'gg' every game.

Hey all!
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated or anything with this. I just recently found it and thought it was the 'bomb-diggity' and wanted to share it with you guys as I've been checking the forums often lately.
So, I think this community as a whole is really awesome. And I recently stumbled upon this GLHF pledge. And I thought I might as well share the idea with you all too. (If this is against guidelines or inappropriate sorry.) I thought it would fit in very well here. I know there is quite a bit of toxicity and frustrations that can arise from that as well as stressful situations, but in the end we are all human and everyone makes mistakes. And maybe we can rise up and become more supportive and helpful to others. Like be more supportive and constructive with opposing views, and considerate of our actions and what we are saying.
I know this game can be EXTREMELY stressful, due to a variety of things. But it can also be extremely fun and enjoyable. And its great to share that with friends and even the "opposing" team, like being able to laugh at the end of the match together and be lighthearted about everything. I know people can take games too personally, and that builds up unnecessary frustration and tension. I think being able to come to terms with certain things and discuss things in a civil manner is going to help more in the long run than the typical "insults" you may or may not have seen. And realizing that we are ALL human. We are just people. There's another person in front of the screen on the opposite end, with feelings and thoughts. Tone and context may not always come across in text as easily, misunderstandings occur etc. etc.
You don't actually have to pledge or anything, but I think the idea behind it is really nice and it would be nice to see more of this kind of attitude in and out of the game. And if you are interested here is a little snippet and also the link to read more about it:
GLHF is a promise to...
- Be a good sport whether I win or lose
- Know that people online are real people and my words have real impact
- Set a positive example with my behavior
- Speak up against discrimination, hate speech, harassment, and abuse
- Show integrity by honoring the rules, my opponents, and my teammates
- Stop, listen, and reassess if I’m told that my words or actions are harmful
- Respect others, even if their sincere opinions are different from my own
https://www.anykey.org/take-the-pledge/
I know it can be hard sometimes, and it may not be easy, and mistakes can happen. If someone else is being "toxic" don't get sucked in to their toxicity too. Stay within your happy, constructive self. But that's what a community is here for. Support. If you are having problems, reach out and ask for help.
I could go on, but I know I tend to ramble, and I think you guys get the idea. And I hope you like it as much as I do.
Just something to think about. :)
Sonic Fox is in Top 8 if you're a fan :3

That doesn't address my question, though.
What could the killer possibly gain to be on par with all this free information for survivors?
-
What type of Killer buff could possibly compensate for built-in Bond, Kindred, and Empathy?
Serious question.

SALTLESS UPVOTES FOR ALL!

The enjoyment I get from running around at high speed and stabbing people. It's why I love Legion.
I like Legion, too.
I'm currently just playing Trapper and unlocking every single perk on him....then I'm gonna move to Wraith and so on.
I have meta perks for every killer, but Legion and Old Freddy were my go to killers for fun :)
-
Deep Wound is a non-threatening status effect from a killer perspective, and a boring one (M1 zzzzzzzz) from a survivor perspective.
It needs to be reworked to be useful for killers and more threatening/interactive for survivors.

Okay then Noed needs to only trigger if all 5 totems remain when the last gen pops.
It's a punishment for genrushing, and it should be a strictly anti genrushing perk
LOL

Internet maybe?
I am east coast, U.S., and have top-of-the-line internet, and thus far haven't had an issue during the Dedicated Server live test.
Well, I did have one issue last night where it took me three mouse clicks to get my M1 strike to go off, but that only happened once, in my first match of the night. After that, everything was smooth for me.
I'm on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, bouncing between several servers at various times, I'm pretty sure.
I haven't had any noticeable issues, either.
-
I, too, get frustrated when the Killer goes all out to kill me in a role that is literally about killing me.
When I hit 'Ready,' I know that I may have a boring game sitting on gens all game, may get camped out of the game, or I may have a game with 'normal' gameplay.
Some rounds are funner than others, just like some killers are 100% focused on securing a kill and others are not.
I know it's a crazy concept that every round / killer is not going to play the same way, but hey, why not try to hold someone else accountable for your own fun and gameplay experience?
It is the DBD way, after all.

I know I said I was done with the community, and I am.... But I thought I would give you the obvious answer.
They have crappy internet connections and probably also play using WiFi. They have done well in the past because as host they have reaped the benefits of their bad connections, but now their bad connections hurt only themselves, dedicated servers are doing exactly what they are meant to do, and it's a great thing.
Thank you for coming back to voice your thoughts on the matter :3

I'd go with Thrilling, given your Killer selection.
I try to save my RBT usage for mid-late match, though, admittedly.

More like a pink add-on that removes the downside of his (currently) best stone add-on.

Ive been seeing this suggestion a lot. I understand that if you’re just playing really well getting hit with DS is annoying. And it is ANNOYING. But let’s be real.. if your playing so well you’ve hooked someone between an unhook and re-downed last person rescued and STILL get hit with it, I’d say that you have enough pressure that 5 seconds shouldn’t be too much of a loss.
Like, look how much you got done in less than 60.. eat the stun and down them again or if you know you were too quick, slug them for a bit. The cases where that stun will cost you the game are extremely rare.
On a side note, forcing someone to get stunned by jumping into a locker IS kinda bs. Especially since people like to combine it with head on.
Or you're getting destroyed, start to do some good plays, hopefully building crazy momentum and...it's gone.
-
It's a consequence of the new in-game party system.
I know it sucks to lose the quick switch button for solo play, but, for the majority of players, it was outweighed by a very beneficial QoL buff to playing with friends :)

That would make it literally useless tho. Another perk nerfed into the ground.
Perhaps a middleground of 30 would placate the masses.
-
I wish 3/4 of my team could push towards 20k when the killer is apparently hardcamping someone :(
-
@brokedownpalace said:
They're going to make it so you can acquire tokens for it. You'll get them for cleansing a totem, safe AND unsafe unhooks, being in the killer's terror radius in or out of a chase for 45 seconds, taking a hit (any hit), healing yourself or another at least 25% (so you can earn 4 tokens per full heal), teabagging 25 times, and clicking your flashlight 50 times. There will be no limit to the amount of tokens you can acquire and if you miss the skill check you can keep using tokens and the killer can't move until you've used all of them.
You 100% know that people will want it nerfed to 35 teabags.
-
"DS means you camped"
It's the perk that does everything, hahaha @_@

So PGTW would be as well OP, relying on the same logic, cause its the same 25% and it comes back several times. Double standards.
I don't know if I'd call it OP, but it's definitely one of the best Killer perks in this meta.
It makes garbage killers have better gen pressure/regression, but just boosts killers with high mobility/map presence through the roof.
-
I find it good on both sides :)
Usually 50-100ms.

OP = LOL
The forums are rather amusing today - I guess it's a weekend thing.

DS by itself isnt S-Tier. Its more about B-Tier, cause its just useful if the killers tunnels, which is sadly common playstyle. If BHVR would do something against this horendous designfailure DS wouldnt be played much at all.
The entire point of DS is to counter tunneling, what the perk isnt able to do like it is, cause killers dont let you get just because the get stunned, they just restart their tunneling. So the survivor itself doesnt gain anything, cuase its situation didnt change a bit.
the perk would be with this change just far too easy counterable. Also such a perk shouldnt be counterable, cause its already a counter to cheap playstyles, whose just make the game unfair to play.
BIG OOF
I wish the Laugh react was still around :(

It doesn't matter if it is or not, you are immune to the killer for 60 seconds with no punishment for being extremely aggressive. Slugging is not a solution, it's extremely risky to slug especially if anti tunnel perks are involved. You should play killer sometime.
If you really hate DS that much, eat it and camp the person out of the game, giving them their 60s of fame (just on the hook, instead 3;)
It's probably gonna throw your match but..
As a killer, the perk is going to what the perk does, but you're free to handle it/react any way you want.
-
Some of the replies in these threads are depressing.
There was one guy in the thread @Sairek made arguing with him that previously said he was at red ranks, but did not know there were 5 totems on every map @_@
It's pretty indicative of the people that support such behavior and advocate for ridiculous changes on both sides.

It's already been buffed twice, already (Stun Time + Enduring Nerf).
May as well make it basekit.
I really feel like the next PTB will have a pleasant surprise regarding either Enduring or DS.

They are teachable perks at the moment. They will appear in the shrine just like any other perk for the time being while we work on getting Leatherface added to the Switch.

I'm debating picking up a switch and this game, but not if I can't use BBQ to ease the grind.
It's bad enough that Fun Boy Fred and Best Friend Bubba are missing :(

Like I said above see how long all that take.
Also, if there's 2 or 3 hexes there's only like 4 dull totems on the map. Which mean a maximum of 4 uses.
Selfcare is unlimited and doesn't require totems or a locker to be activated.
There are only ever 5 totems on any given map.
-
It'll be interesting to see the game's population throughout the week.
Yesterday's numbers seem to indicate that tons of people are still here after the Blood Hunt.

"Bring it back" LMFAO you mean when survivors decide to play badly after they genrush you in 3-4 minutes?
Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night, implied biases and all :(
I know you're just going through your angsty "I watch streamers play and know more than most people" phase.
You'll grow past it, I'm sure, as you get better at the game.
-

Cool wall of text, now go watch TrU3's latest Legion video to see why a lot of killers would rather uninstall than ever face another swf again.
Cool wall of "Literally didn't read the thread, as getting blown up for the majority of a game using a low-tier killer and then managing to bring it back to a 3/4k is literally a point brought up in the 3rd post."
Is it super hard/stressful to do? God, yes.
Does it feel good, manz? God, yes.
-
I haven't prestiged anyone, but I think I am just gonna play each killer individually (IE stick with Trapper, move to the right once he is done) until I unlock all perks on everyone.
The Bloodweb Update was a much needed change.
I'm sincerely glad that you enjoy the game :3
-
I don't really strive for anything after getting the R1 achievement.
I just gotta whack those annoying people that keep starting campfires in the woods :(
Followed one group all the way back to Springwood, last time. Luckily, the Entity has a great comp package, and all my mileage/meals are covered (assuming I 2K or higher).
-
Playing against SWF can be both fun and frustrating, for sure :P
The best advice I could give anyone that feels frustration is to always play your matches out - I literally cannot count the number of games vs 3-4 man SWF I've loaded into with a 'bad' killer (played Trapper all throughout 2x BP because I was pretty much super shrekked all weekend and turned my brain off ;3 ), had ruin blow up within a minute, 2-3 gens pop within a the first couple of minutes, got clowned around by the survivor in my first chase, so there's 1-2 gens left, and still got 3-4 multi-hook kills.
Granted, there are some scenarios like this that may be unwinnable, but you'd be surprised how far you can get in this game (on either side) through sheer force of will/tenacity.
-
Each hook with Dying Light increases Generator time by 2.4s
In a meta where 2-3 gens can pop during the first chase, I feel like it is woefully unnoticeable in the long run.
Sure, you can throw it into "slow down" builds, but any other useful perk is going to carry more weight in most games.

Can we please put this nonsense to rest? I don't know who started it, probably some hack Killer Main Streamer who is preaching his sheep followers the gospel, but I've been playing in Red Ranks a lot during this event and the past few weeks and all I can say is, I see far more survivors getting destroyed by any and all killers at the red ranks.
Sure, I may be solo queue, but I also got into a few SWF teams here and there judging by the names of the survivors (ran into a 3-Man group with names Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Access once). They all still get destroyed by killers like Wraith, Trapper, and Plague.
Seriously, any killer is viable even in the red ranks. The number of times we escape all four of us is exceedingly rare, and most of the time only one escapes, or we end up in 4Ks. It's seriously not just The Big Three that can cut it in the Red Ranks.
I'm sure there are powerful SWF Commando Squads that can beat even good Nurses or Spirits, but those are very, very rare I am sure.
I am just sick of hearing all this Killer Victimization Talk like you are Jews at a Holocaust. Seriously killers, grow a spine and grow up. Have a little self-respect. You are the Power Role. Own it.
LITERALLY makes a Holocaust comparison regarding player behavior in DBD.
"Propaganda"
"Grow up"
"Hack killer main streamer"
Your statement is incorrect and biased, your comparison to the Holocaust is distasteful and juvenile (grow up), but at least it serves as a reminder that rank means nothing in terms of game sense, skill and knowledge.

This "Did you camper/tunneler so much?" is nonsense. The DC is always flagrant and purposeful; usually after someone gets downed really fast, then leaves. There is no "frustrating camper" or overt "connection issues."
This is a problem fostered by BHVR's inability to effectively set a stricter, but still reasonable, ban system.
You're better off ignoring such posts/posters (look at their post history).
Just keep trying to have meaningful discussion and being civil - Don't let 'good' posters get you down - They're on every thread.
