Why no, in fact I do not.
Allow me to describe for you my first killer match of the event and how each subsequent match has gone thus far.
-Playing Spirit-
Survivor 1: gets hit, and vaults through a window. I stand next to the window and wait, they vault back through, I hit them again, they DC.
Survivor 2: gets hit, and drops a pallet. I stand next to the pallet and wait, they vault over it, I hit them again, they DC.
Both dc's occured within less than three minutes of the match starting. I was not using Prayer Beads. Just literally stood there and out-mindgamed them.
Every match thus far, for me, has had something to the accord of that go on. Survivors who just instantly dc because HEAVEN FORBID the Killer does their job and give the Survivors a good smacking.
Don't waste your time answering questions like that.
You don't need to defend whatever you do in-game, so long as you are not verbally abusing others post game or using exploits.
Most people that post stuff like that are usually very, very weak at the game, stunted by a 'great' attitude and 'willingness to learn.'

Isn't the perk that make skillchecks happen more often ? I love this hex has a survivor! XD
The perk does not do anything to skillcheck rate.
-
This topic has become quite the roller coaster ride.
-
The snares take 2s to arm, you know where he's placed it (assuming you're being chased/looping), and you need to be asleep for them to work.
His lunge is also the exact same as every other killer, barring Myers T3.
-
Regardless of what your feelies may tell you, Camping/Tunneling/Slugging/Mori are all part of the game and, in various scenarios, actually contribute to optimal play.
I know it sucks to be on the receiving end (Personally, I hate getting DS'ed for 'not tunneling'), but it's in the game, literally breaks zero rules, and we have to deal with it regardless of our personal preferences.
-
@Mochan said:
I see too many killers seeing the glass half empty.
Sure, you got hit by DS even though you weren't tunneling.
BUT that just means you're absolutely killing it in game because you just hooked and downed two people in under a minute. What's not to be happy about?
Or you're losing terribly, built some momentum, and just lost it all again 3;
-
@Drazen said:
Am I the only one who thinks new ds is far better than old ds because atleast we could punish bad unhooks and atleast we could juggle the person to the hook now basically u have 60 second immunity whether u are getting tunneled or trying to fk with killer by just going into locker infront of him
New DS is better.
There have been many discussions showcasing numerous (and varied) examples of it doing way more than detract from tunneling.
It's the best perk in the game for survivors, followed closely by Adrenaline.
-
Just run NOED every single game. It's the AdrenaWin meta, so why not?
;3
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
Wither or not NOED activates is up to the survivors. Ya'll need to stop bitching about it and make it a point to always cleanse one totem or two every match. I guarantee that if every survivor did that, you'd rarely see NOED.
Agreed.
Imagine if people realized that, by design, the threat of NOED is the only 'real' reason for survivors to spend ANY time on totems without the presence of an obvious Hex perk.
Easier to REEEEEEEEEE than to SEEEEEEEEEEEE
-
When my Adrenaline activates because the hatch gets closed, I'm rewarded with a second health state for succeeding!

I'm mostly going to be spending my BP on Demo and Nancy. If I'm satisfied with them I'll pour some into Freddy and Wraith, too. My main bros.
I'll probably level up each killer and survivor at least a couple times, just for the hell of it (and potential future dailies).
Freddy is so fun :)
I'm just gonna enjoy the faster, fairer matchmaking and actually get to play a large portion of the event (hopefully).
Edit - Ice Cream Steve will be SCOOPING my BP away D:
-
I never expected this community to complain about fairer, faster matchmaking!
/s
This is literally the best change that the game has produced to date.

I'd like to agree with you but...your icon is Leatherface...
I'd like to think your opinion is unbiased and you see things in the broader scope of the game but...

How about wether or not you are in the killer terror radius the perk triggers and the survivor is protected for a few seconds.
Maybe reduce the time if it feels too safe.

When you think being paired with a killer of your rank is a punishment....
For a large portion of the SWF base that can't simply steamroll newbs anymore, it really is :(
-
The amount of deflection and whataboutism in this thread is startling.
It's a pretty good example of why devs take everything on the forums with a grain of salt.
-
I see tons of BT/DS/ADREN/DH at every rank I play in :(
I'm actually certain that is still quite meta.

@FireHazard said:
BT has lost its momentum since it was nerfed back when Legion dropped.
I'm surprised people even use it anymore...
That was literally a HUGE buff to the perk.

You know what's stupid? I had a survivor message me after they dced at the offering screen (I had a mori) and told me they dc every time they see a mori. Fully believed that it was not punishable.
Not surprising, given that some people downplay or even advocate for the act as though it's a legitimate practice.

If I'm playing against a group that I know to be a "Goon Squad," I'll throw a Cypress Mori or Shroud on ;3
If they stomp me, at least I know that they'd play under any conditions 3;

So what was wrong about the survivor puddings to make ppl dodge them? lol
Heavily Salted Pudding
People probably assumed the killer was running a tryhard build?
-
Lobby Dodging is not committing to playing ball with your friends when they call you because they have Ken Griffey Junior on their team - they find another player in your stead.
DC'ing from the loading screen is committing to play that ball game, fielding everyone to their positions, possibly seeing something you don't like, and leaving, taking the only ball with you.
-
@Mochan said:
Lobby dodging is the exact same thing as offering dodging.
You're just biased, which is why you think it's okay for you to lobby dodge while it's not okay for survivors to offer dodge.
The only difference is killer can see it in the lobby so they can dodge "legit" at that point, survivors can't so the only option is to DC after offering screen.
Crazy how it's penalized, literally showcasing that it is not ok to DC in this exact scenario.
-
I came back to post Shang Tsung, but I already have :(
-
So you want BT to work at all times, with unlimited use, and no counter play?
Solid.
I find it extremely suspect that a red rank killer would not notice its prevalence in...the red ranks.

Content from the UPCOMING HOTFIX PATCH 3.2.1
These changes aren't live yet.
BALANCE
- Demogorgon now Break pallets with a Pounce attack by default.
- Perk Surge now grants the Destruction score event for each affected generator.
- Perk Second Wind will now display the progress towards activating the perk.

Personally I think all that info has potential to hurt the game. There is a huge factor in the not knowing especially for solo players.
If we know everything then it removes most of the risk. Where then is the fun coming from?
I think it's pretty safe to say that the original intent/design of "not knowing" is no longer an option, given how the majority of players play.
It's pretty weird that the solo role in this game is often the one with the least amount of information flow throughout the trial.

What exactly is wrong with Freddy this time? How does the new Oblivious status effect make him unbearable?
As for "it worked for Legion" let's cut the bullshit how about let's talk how Killers whined so much they devs blocked the killer build in the endgame summary, or how killers were dodging SWF lobbies so much BHVR "fixed" the matchmaking which resulted in the shitfaced matchmaking we have today?
"Killers whined so much they devs blocked the killer build in the endgame summary" - If you don't see the game-changing issue with the ability to rattle off a killer's build to the remaining players, there's clearly some sort of bias at work.

Yeah were now gonna have flashbacks of Legion exploiting, just without need to moonwalk. I cant understand why devs didnt take that situation into consideration. Its broken af. Pretty good job so far.
I don't mind the change, but it will definitely be jarring, especially to people that don't even understand what is happening.
-
Snares are also decent when placed near totems/gens to act as an alert at any distance.

Fire Up/Remember Me/Blood Warden/NOED is pretty fun with Pallets.
Just play like you're pretty bad, eating most of the pallets around the map - Only start replacing them near the end game and watch the good times roll (or you'll get blown up - either way, it's pretty fun and non-exhausting).
Literally ran around the map doing nothing, chasing this guy through every pallet (obsession), only hitting them. They all jumped on me in the end game chat, literally calling me cheap for running a broken build (slugged player DC'ed for hatch at the end). I guess the build must have been super broken if they felt the need to complain on my USF4 review.

But legion forces the deep wounds, freddy needs someone with bt to unhook another guy while he's close. It's silly to think it's the same.
Still a double standard.
There is no reason to worry about Plague's power in the current "no heal/second chance" meta. This meta does, however, make Borrowed Time and Adrenaline even more valuable to mitigate the lack of healing.
-
I've seen a couple of "uncleansable" totems stuffed between barrels on this map.
When I'm killer, my Ruin always seems to spawn on the second floor location, always.

Self heal perks and medkits don't work against plague. Never saw people dc'ing on her.
People protested legion because of the exploits. Not the timer.
That is always a risk when you don't run ds. Nothing changed
The Legion exploit is the exact same scenario that Freddy can now create, except that Freddy can casually follow you without moonwalking.
With regards to The Plague, I feel like that is moreso a result of the meta and her being universally described as a "low-tier killer" by the majority of players.

I play rank 1 regularly and consider him on par with hag. Not quite nurse or billy level, but certainly higher then a lot of the cast. Snares are also his most powerful power not his pallets which is a very common misconception.
I run pallets for fun/troll build purposes, but the lack of slowdown on placing snares is something a lot of people definitely do not implement properly on certain loops.
-
BT no longer serves its intended purpose when you're near the killer with the Bleedout Timer activated, allowing for the exact same scenario that caused people to protest The Legion, potentially exacerbating the issue as you're already down a hook state and guaranteed to lose another if you do not run DS?
-
Excellent.

I experienced survivors DCing against perkless and add-onless Clown. Nothing new for me.
It happens :(
I generally try to not take the game too seriously and often try to ignore the bad times.
I really appreciate the civility and logical flow (nothing you've said is 'out there' or impractical) to your responses, though :)

Bt activates. Because the rescuer was awake
And what happens to the Bleedout Timer because the unhooked person is asleep after they get hit with BT applied?

And ? Why would people DC against Freddy because of this change more often than they already do ?
I can't really speak on the mindsets of others, but I have experienced this a few times since the change has gone live - Most likely "something something fun something oblivious something uncounterable."

@Marcus said:

They still have 60 seconds of immunity from DS. Idk whatbis your problem with this change, old BT used to work like this against any killer and nobody complained back then that it was too weak.
I don't have a problem with the change, as I literally implied in a previous post.
Whether or not the survivor has DS or jumps into a locker, however, is not going to make their Deep Wounds status do anything.
-
@Marcus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/700998#Comment_700998
They get Borrowed Time and now they can go in a locker to force you to eat their DS.
You mean they are forced to bleed out in the locker because Freddy has no terror radius, falling out of the locker when Borrowed Time bleeds them out?
-
It definitely sucks being wrong all the time, I must admit.
*reads wall of text*
*ignores wall of topics and videos highlighting examples of DS "working as intended/anti-tunnel (that's sarcasm)" on this very forum*
The most popular discussion regarding the perk seems to be:
@Zixology said:
I see so many people crying about DS being too OP still. Their only argument is that they see "every" survivor using it.
Let's think on that for a second...
DS is an anti-tunneling perk. Nothing else. So if "every" survivor is using it and you keep getting angry about that; it only means two things.
- You tend to tunnel quite often if you're hit with DS as much as you say.
- Most people tend to tunnel quite often if "every" survivor feels the need to run it.
Why not bring your points to a broader audience and see how they react instead of just 'arguing (verbally putting down)' someone that has that "special skill where [they] manage to be wrong several times in single sentences?"
I'm sure the results will surprise you.
