I'm sorry you think that. It's not at all how any designer on our team operates. New Ruin went through hours of testing with players ranging from brand new to having thousands of hours in the game. Every designer on the team had feedback on it, plus several programmers, and other people in other disciplines. No fewer than 10 people on the team took a serious look at Ruin before we settled on the current design, but it's probably more like 15.
This is not to say I think people are wrong for disliking it; everyone has different views on this kind of thing. But these changes were not made lightly or in a hurry. This design was first documented in August of 2019. Usually I've already discussed a design with 4-5 different people on the design team before the first documentation, so it likely had its genesis around June or July of 2019.
It's understandable with the way these things drop out of nowhere from the community's perspective for people outside the team to think they are sudden. But I assure you they are not. :)
I'm not a fan of the Ruin change, personally, but I AM A FAN of the ensuing meta shake-up.
I don't know if that makes sense.

what noed meta the one of having 3 perks all game and then realising it doesnt trigger cause some people actually do totems
That's still slowing the game down.

So you guys prefer to make a perk that most of the community doesn't like to become meta instead of making a secondary objective? This makes no sense for me.
If there is areason, please tell us.
Perks change, metas change.
You can't please everyone.
NOED is the best adaptation atm.
-
I don't think it will be a protest, but it is the best second chance perk that killers have. Slowing the game down to disable it is just icing on the cake.

Noed is "a crutch perk", but it still has more late game presence than neo-ruin (which is when its intended to work :) )
Goddamn, i never thought I'd defend using noed.
NOED is going to be meta, soon.
I'd suggest getting Detective's Hunch I'd you're a Survivor.
-
This is the best one.
Bless your heart :3
-
I use DS, even though I hate it.
There's no point in handicapping yourself on either side due to someone else's feelings.
I'll also tunnel or camp if the situation calls for it.
I'm pretty good at the game and do well, so I know I'm making the correct decisions - the made up rules and feelings of others (toward perks/actions) mean nothing to me.

Answer: you DON’T counter it in that instance, genius. Unless you’re Huntress or Long Lunge Freddy. It’s a perk for a reason. Distance is important. But
Exactly, it's uncounterable.
Freddy's lunge is also the same as every other killer, although lunging is completely irrelevant in that scenario, anyways...but you knew that ;3

DS: don’t tunnel or just slug
BT: Just don”t tunnel lol
Dead Hard: Not even that annoying. Just wait for it. You must be rank 21 with these arguments.
You didn't address the best use for Dead Hard and you're bashing this guy.
10/10
Feel free to explain how to counter Dead Hard "for distance."
I'll even be so kind as to explain it, since you may not know, as you did not address it...
You use Dead Hard to gain the little bit of distance needed to reach the pallet/vault that you then use to extend the chase.

I guess they were having too much fun getting gen-rushed :)

practice what you preach, you have no argument for it not being changed except for "it is what it is" and yet you decide to talk trash and act like other people's opinions aren't valid because you don't agree with them. screw you bud :)
Yup - It is what it is, as intended :3
By all means, feel free to explain how I'm supposed to argue for something remaining the same without stating it's working as intended - That's literally the entire argument for keeping the perk as is / not advocating for a change (barring the fact that you can tag a dev here to verify that it's working as intended and has no changes coming in the near future).

Anyone actively insulting anyone is not worth engaging.
I think it's ok to bash a change or say X is stupid, but to actually insult a person over a change in a videogame is pretty sad.
-
I'm just gonna use my auric cells from the previous one :)
-
Apparently, you have a 3 second cooldown AFTER zapping someone?!
The Zap 'unable to interact' phase only lasts on a survivor for 2 seconds.
So you zap them, they stand at the pallet mashing space, and they come out on top either way (getting a stun or dropping the pallet risk-free)?

If all comes down to the possibility of multiplying items, then why not simply rework Franklin instead? As of now Franklin mostly just pisses off survivors and makes the game even more toxic. If the perk only damaged items, then everything would have been solved in one fell swoop: white ward works as intended, items can not be duplicated and the game is somewhat less toxic. A win, however you look at it.
White Ward works as intended at this very moment - If you doubt it, tag a dev.

Funny thing is, even if my change is made, the item would still lose durability for each hit. This isn't even a hard counter to Franklin's, it's a quality of life upgrade.
It's a nerf - Just because you think something should work in a particular way because "reasons," doesn't make it so.
You literally want an item that is no longer in your possession to be protected by White Ward, when its whole purpose is to protect your item in the event of death. It sucks that a perk can counter your one time use offering, I'm sure, but I don't see people rioting over Shroud of Binding being countered by Discordance @_@
You can complain and argue about it all you want, but you'll still always be wrong, and you've not provided any compelling reasons to change it, aside from wanting to keep your item because, well, entitlement.
If DS could stop someone from being mori'ed, I'm sure they would put it into the perk description, but nice try at 'whataboutism.'
You can keep reaching, but Stretch Armstrong went out of style a couple of decades ago.

Worked for Nurse.
I can't believe that they have never even addressed that Nurse was not functioning properly on the PTB, but opted to ship her AND nerf her cooldown add-ons, iirc, while tacking on the extra cooldown that should have been present for the players to test.
-
Any add-ons that once caused Exhaustion are, to my understanding, having that effect replaced with a reverse spinning Skillcheck.

Effen lol....Nurse changes are hated by all and she's the least played killer. Her numbers haven't been adjusted. Dev's must have put you mods on high alert today.
No one even actually got the opportunity to test Nurse in her fully nerfed form, on the PTB, as the delay in recharge after attacking was not implemented. They still pushed this change to live with 0 feedback on it.
-
@ChiTenshi said:
Still got add-on changes to go, plus he no longer needs to change form when chasing.
Yeah, they removed Exhaustion in exchange for reverse spinning - Seems like a buff.

She's not fun anymore - It's not worth the headache of being stuck in double cooldown for 1/4 of every match.

Instead of a Struggle button, Struggling should occur automatically.

Totems have literally won me about 36 games in a row @_@
It's a blizzard here, atm, so I'm about to get shrekked / blow that streak, but in the right builds, totems can be a pain.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
It's very reliant on your hex perks lasting but in the situation where they do, then the build is very strong.
Yeah - The additional Yellow/Green movement speed add-ons are used to almost always be able to get to the Hex before it pops, while the disappearance time add-on, in turn, is used to buff the previous one.
It's become oppressive enough that 3/4 man SWF arrange chain blocks to pop totems, which in turn is free pressure/damage for me.
As a bonus, even if a game starts to go south, you're still a speedy boy on the inside :3
-
I think it would be way better if you started in the Dying state - That way you'd be guaranteed to pick yourself up!

Blood Warden is another second chance perk and that's all.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/546/RNWF1VAV5ADZ.png
"The killer's main objective is to stop survivors"
Basically from repairing gens, if survivors repaired 5 gens they got their objective done, and the killer failed, should the survivor be punished for killers mistake?
No.
It literally says they fail if "the survivors manage to escape."
The word "generator" is not even mentioned in their objective.
-
@MegMain98 said:
They’ve completed all five gens and you failed to kill them all before the generators activate. Why should you get upset that they completed their objective when you failed at yours?
It can be overbearing if all four survivors have Adrenaline but at that point you have LOST. Having all four survivors at the end of the game is a L on your point as a killer.
It’s strong but it doesn’t reward survivors for nothing like the old Mettle of Man did.
Old MOM rewarded survivors for getting hit and punished killers for doing the objectives.
Adrenaline rewards survivors for completing all the generators.
People regularly get 2-3 kills after the last gen pops, whether due to Rancor, NOED, Remember Me, Blood Warden, over-altruism, Moris, etc.
Is that LOSING + WINNING?
*gets sucked into paradox*
People that say the game is over at that point, just aren't playing people that are capable of providing solid/exciting games, I guess.

Oh yeah, let's deactive a perk that is anti tunneling, in the end game, where you are 100% being tunneled, awesome fix.
How about we stop crying about it, if survivors make it to the EGC you failed at doing you're objective, protect generators, so that's your fault.. survivors should not get punished for it
*kills everyone with Remember Me, Blood Warden, and NOED*
IT'S OK GUYS, I'VE ALREADY FAILED!

Winning is not a counter. :P The counter to Adrenaline, as far as I am aware, is to be carrying the Adrenaline Survivor when the last gen pops.
Ah!

"You can counter Adrenaline by preventing all gens from being done (hard for some lower tier killers) or by killing them via any means necessary prior to gen completion"
That basically says that to counter them, you need to beat them, which is a silly notion. It's like saying "Counter Moris by not getting downed" or "Counter Keys by winning before they do too many gens."
Silly or not, those are the only counters, unless I'm missing something.
-
No one has a problem with the killer losing up to 4 health states and being temporarily slower than survivors in the portion of the game when they're literally on a 25-30s time crunch.
Adrenaline is usually just a "win more" perk for most people. It can, however, be used by coordinated SWF group to erase a chase at endgame/troll by popping the last gen after their pal takes a hit. Much like NOED, the individual plays the game with 3 perks, receiving a huge payoff endgame.
You can counter Adrenaline by preventing all gens from being done (hard for some lower tier killers) or by killing them via any means necessary prior to gen completion. NOED also helps mitigate its impact, but that's assuming it activates. As it has no tell/counter barring activation/death, you could tunnel or camp people out of the game (ie Meg) and they're not even running it.
Adrenaline by itself is not a huge issue, but it is obnoxious to face 4 people using it, particularly if you're using a weak killer vs a co-ordinated group, given its ability to negate a chase, heal 4 health states, and provide faster travel to the exit gates.
If you find yourself losing due to this perk a lot, you may want to consider killers/add-ons/perks/offerings that help you win chases/down/insta-down/kill people faster to reduce the amount of potential uses, as well as Ruin/Pop to slow gens down and prevent/delay its activation.
Good Luck :3

Dull totems don't warn the killer, that only applies for Hex totems.
Nevertheless, if TotH is going to remain a Hex, it should do more than what it does. I do have an idea, but it's kinda corny in my opinion. 😁
Makes sense - My TotH build uses all 5 totems @_@
