I rank up in solo just fine.
Sometimes I "stall out" for a few games, but it's not really hard to pip (0 effort) regardless of my team until I get to Purple, usually.

Console doesn't have dedicated servers yet and I hope they fix them before they hit consoles.
Nothing beats getting Exhausted and having nothing to show for it...except 1 less hook state T_T

I'd rather run no exhaustion perk than BL. I prefer DH over SB because I run everywhere.
I love DH, but have switched to Lithe because it's been treating me pretty pretty bad on dedicated servers (Hit DH, get Exhausted, still get hit without lunging forward).
-
I can't see him functioning the way people think he will - IE - Rework is meant to make him more fun to play as/against, so I can't see them making it so you can shock a survivor going for a vault/pallet, completely denying them the interaction, and then immediately swinging for a guaranteed hit at 115%.
It doesn't make sense in the rework's context.
I honestly feel like there is going to be a lot of disappointment in his future :(

I think the Legion could have a second ability where it would go into locker and could choose from 3 other map lockers to come out as another Legion since they are four and if survival tried to enter a locker where one of the Legion is hidden the player could switch to this Legion (like Hag) and the previous Legion would automatically enter the nearest closet.
When the killer was first announced as a "Group of 4," I was hoping that they would have some sort of swap mechanic, with each member having small buff (ie - shorter stun times/faster pallet breaking/faster weapon wipes/faster power cooldown) depending on which one you "swapped" to.
-
People DC'ed if they were the first person seen/hit/hooked/noticed/spawned near the killer/don't like the add-ons/don't like the killer/etc way before this mechanic was implemented.
I'm interested to see your reasoning on how removing this mechanic will solve said issue(s) when it existed well-before being able to close the hatch (which in itself eliminated the most unhealthy aspect of the game - infinite stand-offs).
You haven't really provided any noteworthy responses at all in this thread, going so far as to state that you've been around since year, but DC'ing has only become the norm since the introduction of the EGC (entirely incorrect).
You didn't kill the Dwight, hooked someone without closing the hatch, and made a troll post that is "trending on Reddit" - Fantastic, but your points regarding the hatch, DC reasons, and most of the things you've said about the game in general, are incorrect.
TLDR - The hatch has almost ZERO relation to the DC epidemic.

Yes - The people who DC well before End Game would totally stick around if the hatch could not be closed.

No idea why they removed his exhaustion add-on effects...They should have kept them while making the random skillcheck directions a part of his base kit.

Like title says. If I get saved 10 seconds on hook I would still have 50 seconds until second stage.
It may deter camping but I guess increase tunneling.
Killers would get opportunity for more hook actions and points. And survivors may be more altruistic.
This literally incentivizes and promotes camping - How else is the killer going to ensure that a survivor hangs the full 120s, especially at the start of the game (where camping can be a fun killer) when there are 3 people able to rotate out doing saves, each with 120s of guaranteed hook time until death?
It would also make the game straight-up unwinnable for killers @_@

I would feel bad for you, if you weren't a Nurse, with ruin, and other extremely meta perks (noteably, ruin, on Nurse. OOF), and the survivors had perks that were actually game changing. They didn't.
Basically, if you lost to them, as a Nurse, with ruin, BBQ and Nurses Calling...I don't think it's the games fault, no matter the rank. You had a significant advantage.
He's using Ruin on the killer that is literally at the bottom of the charts in terms of actual performance.

Thanks! Wish they have the same way of thinking. But with my experience playing against chinese from mainland(Starcraft 2, Dota 2, PUBG), they'll try anything just to win, even playing unfairly like using cheats or take advantage of some holes. If things don't go the way they want, they'll sabotage the game just to make things worse for others than them.
Cheating got rooted in their culture, that it not only applies on games but also in other things. Like starting a riot in a school because their children were not allowed to cheat and terrible quality of materials compared to what is in the order.
So if they can't cheat, they can still take advantage of things that they are allowed to.
I, too, am a huge fan of stereotyping an entire country.

I’m confused by this thread. Suggestion is white ward makes it so you DO NOT drop your item, if hit by a killer using Franklin’s Demise, which, causes you to drop your item.
Somehow, that is construed by some very high IQ people to mean “you want white ward to protect items when you drop your item after you’re sacrificed, unfair!!!”
What’s truly scarier is this is just a video game thread. Imagine how poor reading comprehension comes into play with politics, or, being easily manipulated by the news.
Guess they were just not galaxy brain enough to get that the OP meant some type of 1-off special offering-item-perk interaction unlike anything seen in the game before, and based their interpretations on how the game actually operates.

Hrmmmm, I wonder why. I also don't struggle vs Ruin...hrmmmmm
If people don't want to run Small Game/Detective's Hunch/Map, or even just cleanse totems as they see them, that's on them.
NOED is trash against a team with even 1-2 survivors running anti-totem stuff.
The game already has enough anti-totem stuff - I doubt the devs are ever going to give 'freebies' like a totem counter, chase indicator, etc. given their recent statement regarding built-in Kindred.
I'm also not a fan of anything that discourages build variety and, evidently, neither are the devs.

So first, fun is subjective. Saying you find her boring to play means nothing, I find her fun now, and and absolute bore as she used to be. Anytime a character's power level is brought down in a game people will find that character to then be possibly unfun. But I digress, my point is the enjoyment you get from a character is not a direct correlation to their overall potential.
Secondly, I don't really care how much time someone has put in the game, or a killer. All I care about is a reasonable and intelligent discussion on someone's point of view. I know the forums have a ton of knee-jerk hyperbole, trolling etc. so the prefacing of experiencing in game seems necessary at times.
I think the Nurse is fine as is, basekit and addons. The issues she has are game wide, and hurt other killers too. She suffers on larger maps now, all but a few killers do as well. That's part of the reason Ormond and Red Forest are so survivor sided. Dedicated servers, as I mentioned before, are also a big hit to her. The thing was is she was so powerful before, she just ignored all the balance issue in maps and gameplay. I understand why some may not enjoy her anymore, she did actually change quite a bit. I believe, for the overall health of the game, the changes were needed.
Can you explain how you, personally, find her more enjoyable now that she spends an additional portion of her time in cooldown and has lost most of her map pressure?
Legitimately curious.

How do you even die within 90seconds? Are you afk? Cant loop at all?
Survivors are not supposed to make the killer happy, killers are not supposed to make survivors happy.
People want every match to play the same. I like the odd occasion where I'm getting tunneled and really have to sweat to survive. If every match guaranteed the same type of gameplay experience, I'd jump ship.

Spending the majority of a match at 95% speed/in cooldown is not fun.

Last post to you, until I get my builds for the other guy. This is more of an informative post since you don’t know of the perks. Counter-perks to “gen rush” and “looping” which are the majority reason for tunneling
Nurse’s Calling - See auras of healing survivors
Bamboozle - Blocks vault locations
BBQ - see other survivors when hooking a survivor
Bitter Murmur - see auras if survivors when a gen is completed
Corrupt Intervention - Blocks 3 farthest gens from you for up to 120 seconds.
Coulrophobia - slows healing
Cruel Limits - blocks vault locations when a gen is completed
Discordance - Shows what gen has two or more survivors on it.
Fire up - gives a speed buff to killer for each gen completed
Franklins Demise - knock items from survivors
Devour Hope - Exposed status, possible Mori on token gain
Haunted Grounds - Exposed Status
Huntress Lullaby - added regression for missed skill checks, no skill check warning, shorter window for skill check and no sound.
No One Escapes Death - In its name.
Ruin - penalty for good skill checks, none for great.
Knock Out - no aura for dying survivors outside of range
Make Your Choice - Exposed Status for unhooking
Mindbreaker - exhausted status for gens repairing under 50%
Overcharge - “impossible” skill check
Pop - 25% regression to gens after hooking survivor
Spirit Fury - Instantly destroys pallet
Surge - Putting a survivor into dying state pops surround gens and regresses them
Surveillance - all regressed gens are highlighted white, then yellow when regression is stopped
Tinkerer - when a gen is at 85% you have a 0 terror radius
Thanatophobia- up to 4% slowdown on survivor capabilities per injured survivor
Thrilling Tremors - All gens not being repaired are blocked for 16 seconds when a survivor is picked up
Unnerving Presence - increased chance of skill checks
A lot of those perks are not very good and actually lead to easier games for survivors.
IE Unnerving Presence basically gives you a 50/50 shot of hitting a great, Huntress Lullaby is bad/win-more at best, Fire-Up and Tinkerer do not offer a good enough benefit to offset their steep activation costs, Overcharge is easy to hit unless you're playing Doctor, Spirit Fury requires a 2nd perk to be useful, etc.
Wasting perk slots is not going to help people refrain from tunneling.

Ooo, this is great for tunneling come to think about it now because you see where they are at.
I still feel like Nemesis is kinda weak, it should have longer aura reading duration. 😁🤗
It's actually good for ANTI-tunneling as you'll be getting whoever does the unhooking each time, maybe even dropping the current chase/patrol to do so.
I use it on Wraith, and the aura reading is fine for speedsters like him and Billy at that range.
For normal speed people, it still lets you see the general area.
-
"Anytime a new Survivor becomes the Obsession, they are affected by the Oblivious Status Effect for 40 seconds and their Aura is revealed to you for 4 seconds."
This statement, and effect, is completely separate from:
"A Survivor who blinds or stuns you using a Pallet or a Locker becomes your Obsession."
Nemesis is hella good with Furtive Chase + Make Your Choice...
It also lets you gain a few extra Dying Light stacks if you want to "win more."

This is going to be a hard pill for most people to swallow, but here it goes:
It is not the job of killer or survivor players to babysit the fun of the other. Anything outside of just trying to "get your points/pip/whatever and leave" is a courtesy on your part. Being camped/tunneled does suck, and losing 3 gens due to an average first chase is also #########. Both of these problems are linked to poor game design, and are not necessarily behaviors most players would participate in if there was ANYTHING ELSE TO DO IN THIS VIDEO GAME.
My 2 cents.
2nd hard pill - I enjoy the odd occasion where Killers try REALLLLY hard to kill me, or Survivors crank out gens like robots, causing me to feel pressured. I don't want every single match to feel exactly the same or have universal difficulty - I doubt most players do.
3rd hard pill - The game is more balanced now then it has ever been.
4th hard pill - Most of the people playing realize it's not a "super serious e-sport" and enjoy it for what it is, even at high ranks.
5th hard pill - Maps are the real 'killer' for most Killers, but I'd rather have map size variety than reduce them all in size (buffing already strong killers) as some would suggest. Personally, I view the maps with a fighting game mindset - IE Oh, Trapper sucks on this map, I'm gonna have a hard time winning, but it happens. Maybe each map could have size variations - IE Trapper would get a smaller number of tiles than Billy (just brainstorming).
Clayfighters was super fun :3

No, it's a buff because it allows the perk to perform longer on the last hook.
Say you're on your last hook and haven't used DS, it won't start the timer until downed to dying state.
So if you don't facecamp/tunnel people out of the game/force DS early, you're rewarded with an impossible End Game?

I am always amazed of the fact that people dont understand what it would mean to buff Solos. Some small-minded people around here.
Of course such an indicator should exist. But I doubt this is gonna happen, when they dont even want Kindred Basekit...
Pretty sure that one of the devs stated that the Kindred buff was done to provide similar information - Maybe when the process is done we'll be able to sacrifice all 4 perk slots for the info SWF gets for free :-/

I mean, it would be interesting to see how the game/killers would all be balanced for this suggested changed. It would be a lot of work.
Given that the devs are opposed to making even Kindred baseline, people have set some very unrealistic expectations about how they're actually going to go about this.
-
@FancyMrB said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/943970#Comment_943970
So your argument is the killer should just use perks... but survivors shouldn't use their info perks because... they aren't good enough? Because they are conditional?
The killer perks are also conditional and not perfect... shock.
Bond, open hand, spine chill, kindred, and empathy are all options if you want info on players.
I use bond and spine chill for example!
If Bond goes off it lets me know what is happening near me. Does someone need a heal? Is someone else working on a gen nearby that I can help with?
If Spine Chill goes off and no one is within range then I know the killer is coming just for me and to dip. If I do get in a chase with the killer then Bond lets me know where not to go. Don't wanna be leading him to my teammates working on gens.
If Spine Chill and Bond go off it lets me see the person in the chase or if they are hiding and the killer is now heading my way.
If neither are going off then I know I am safe to go gens and totem.
Tldr; we don't need a chase indicator.
SWF gets it for free - They want it for free.
They expect that all killers will be buffed to compensate for this (somehow) after they get it.
-
Given they've stated that even Kindred as a baseline feature is too powerful, I'm fairly certain that this is just a pipedream.
-
Do you think we'll see changes like the one proposed in 2020?
-
If there was a universal chase indicator, gen rushing would intensify, as not being in the terror radius while knowing someone is being chased = slam those gens.
It's another SWF feature that is impossible to implement in any healthy form.
In turn, if Solos were all brought up to SWF levels, there's no possible buff that Killers can receive to make up for the free flowing information that everyone now has access to without breaking/redesigning the game.
The Solo to SWF transition plan is just going to be a bunch of perk tweaks so that no work/redesign needs to be done for Killers.
Buffing Solos to SWF levels and then universally buffing Killers is never going to happen because it's impossible to do in a healthy manner given the way that the entire game is designed and balanced.
-
If 8.54/10 of your games are starting without an Obsession, perhaps you can step up.

Anytime I see waffleboyyum commenting on a thread I pretty much just skip over it. That's pretty much all he does, not even a shitpost here and there. Just acts genuinely condescending and doesn't budge an inch on stuff that's flat out wrong.
That being said, DS absolutely let's you survive more. That's it's whole purpose as a perk and it does it's job wonderfully- to the point where it's not just an anti-tunnel perk, it's just an all around free health state for a minute that you can do whatever you want with. A lot of killers can't afford to slug everyone every time to counter it. That's just silly. Some other circumstances can happen that prevent it being triggered but they're much less common than the perk just working. That being said you can still just eat the DS and waste time chasing them again; I don't think it needs too much of a tweak. Maybe just don't allow protection hits and have it deactivate if the survivor touches a gen. Kind of a dead horse though.
Incidentally, I just had to file a second ticket against the guy who said I was cheating and....(check my profile). As I did not fill the support ticket out properly, despite having video evidence and showing their profile. If I didn't keep the file, and bookmark the profile, BHVR would be letting them off scot-free, notifying me on XMAS eve.
